    Highly satisfied

    We had made a Reservation for two Rooms for a group of four, but the day before our stay one person had to cancel due to a sudden family hospitalization. When we called, the staff handled it very flexibly: they added a sofa bed to the Deluxe Twin and made it a Room for three, so the price did not increase. Since it was originally a Deluxe Twin, there was plenty of space even with three beds. Dinner was the standard Japanese course, but every dish was thoughtfully prepared—not just ordinary Japanese food—and delicious. All three of us were very satisfied. Our Plan also included access not only to the large public bath but also to the paid spa, so we were able to fully enjoy a relaxing and elegant experience. Every Facility felt spacious and comfortable, and the staff were kind and refined—truly impressive. All three of us were extremely happy with our stay, and we decided we definitely want our next autumn trip to be at an Exiv as well. On the Shinkansen home, we searched for other Exiv locations as we traveled back. Thank you very much for such a wonderful experience.

    As always, the lovel...

    As always, the lovely Room and spa were wonderful. And the delicious Japanese cuisine left us very satisfied. We don’t play golf, but just looking at the seasonal flowers in bloom throughout the year is soothing.

    The Japanese cuisine was excellent.

    Last time, I enjoyed French cuisine, which was very delicious, but this time I tried Japanese cuisine. It turns out the chef is a former head chef of the Imperial Hotel. Indeed, it was exceptional. Perfect. The broth and flavors were truly exquisite, like those of a fine Japanese restaurant.

    The breakfast was excellent.

    I often stay here during my business trips to Fukushima. This time, breakfast was a Japanese set meal instead of a buffet, but the quality was excellent and very delicious. The freshly shaved bonito flakes served midway paired perfectly with the rice, leaving me fully satisfied in the morning. Thank you for the wonderful meal. I look forward to staying here again.

    Always greeted with a smile.

    A luxurious resort hotel with spacious grounds. While many hotels are introducing restrictions on children, we have stayed here multiple times with our young children and always appreciate the thoughtful care and warm smiles from the staff. We always choose Japanese cuisine, which is creatively prepared to reflect the seasons and consistently delicious. There are several membership-based hotels, but I believe the staff at this Exiv are exceptional. Despite the vast grounds, both the rooms and common areas are impeccably clean.

    I had a relaxing time.

    At the end of the year, I stayed for two nights at Grand XIV Nasu Shirakawa The Lodge. I was looking for a place to enjoy Onsen and an extraordinary atmosphere, and decided on this accommodation due to its reasonable price. The magnificent and luxurious building was quiet, warm, and provided a relaxing stay. In addition to the large public Onsen bath, I also used the paid spa. The men's public bath seemed quite spacious, but the women's bath was not as large. Although understandable, there was a strong chlorine smell in the morning. The paid spa did not have washing areas but offered several types of baths to enjoy; both were popular with many guests using them. Meals were buffet-style for both breakfast and dinner under our Plan. Next time, I would like to try dining at their restaurant instead. I also enjoyed coffee at the lounge, making it an overall relaxing stay that left me satisfied. I had only heard of Exiv by name before and thought I would never get a chance to stay there; however, thanks to IKYU.com offering it on their site, I was able to book my accommodation here!

    We were very satisfied even without using the golf facilities.

    I stayed here for a relaxing getaway. As it is celebrating its 20th anniversary, the atmosphere does feel slightly old-fashioned, but the meticulous cleaning more than makes up for it—there wasn’t a speck of dust. The Room had a charming classical ambiance, yet with the addition of a smart TV, it was well-adapted to modern needs, which I found impressive. I had dinner at Hanakidori and was thoughtfully seated in a calm spot as I was dining alone. The meal was absolutely delicious. Additionally, the staff member attending my table provided impeccable service with perfect timing for serving dishes and checking on drinks, making my experience very relaxing. I regret skipping dessert as I was too full! The spa and jacuzzi were spacious and spotless. Exiv primarily caters to Japanese travelers, which creates an excellent atmosphere overall. During my stay at Nasu Shirakawa (perhaps due to timing), there were no children around; all guests were refined and courteous—a truly pleasant experience. As others have mentioned in their reviews, every staff member I encountered greeted me warmly with smiles throughout the facility—it made me genuinely happy. Lastly—and this may not be helpful to others—I accidentally threw away my ring along with some trash but realized it hours later when I contacted them. They promptly searched for it and kindly arranged to send it back to me—thank you so much!

    Truly extraordinary.

    We visited for an anniversary trip with my partner. The IKYU benefits were wonderful, and my partner was delighted. There were no women's cosmetic items in the Room, and when I asked at the front desk, they offered large bottles for borrowing, which felt inconvenient to return and a bit disappointing. The outdoor jacuzzi in the public bath was very relaxing. However, the shampoo didn’t suit me and left my hair dry. Cosmetics were available in the public bath but weren’t particularly impressive. It felt a little disappointing that there were two razors in the Room but no women’s cosmetics provided. That said, these are minor issues overall. Breakfast was delicious, especially the Japanese dishes which were refined and flavorful. I wished there had been more dessert options, though what was available tasted great. The Danish-style Eggs Benedict was a first for me—it was so good I went back for seconds. The service was excellent, making our stay very pleasant overall.

    Stayed for one night...

    Stayed for one night with breakfast included, without golf. The building and facilities felt a bit old, but everything was thoroughly cleaned, so there was no discomfort at all. The staff were polite and kind, providing excellent service that truly represents a professional hotel experience. If there’s any downside, it would be the inconvenience of having to change clothes to go to the bath as room wear is not allowed. Breakfast offered a variety of options including Japanese, Western, bread, and rice dishes—very satisfying! Be careful not to overeat. I would definitely stay at this hotel again when visiting the Nasu Shirakawa area.

    I stay 2 to 3 times ...

    I stay 2 to 3 times a year. It is one of my favorite accommodations. The room's color scheme is charming, and above all, the Japanese cuisine at Hanamokutori is incredibly delicious. It's something I always look forward to.

    Satisfied

    Although it was no longer available on IKYU, we were able to stay for two nights through the Hotel's arrangement. I spent a bit too much of my allowance, but my university student grandchild was very satisfied. They were thrilled to stay in a suite and enjoyed both Japanese and Western cuisine. If our schedule allows, we would love to visit again next month.

    Super Cheap! Why not give it a try?

    As a corporate member, I frequently use IKYU. This time, I found an incredibly affordable Plan on IKYU.com. When I looked closely at the details to see what was different, I noticed that the dinner was not the usual! Normally, it's a course meal, but this time it included four items: appetizer, soup, garlic steak rice bowl, and dessert. I thought coffee wouldn't be included at this price point, but it was! It was half the usual price! Although dinner was simpler than usual, everything else remained the same. Breakfast was a buffet as always. This is definitely an option too!! We laughed about it with my husband during our stay. The Room we booked only had doubles available at that time; however, twins were also an option if there had been availability.

    The jacuzzi is excellent.

    I chose the Plan with a jacuzzi and used it. It helped me relax and recover from daily fatigue. Highly recommend the jacuzzi!

    Would love to visit again!

    The staff are absolutely wonderful. Their heartfelt hospitality was truly comforting. The food at the restaurant was also delicious. I look forward to visiting again soon.

    The meals were delicious.

    【Meals】Both dinner (French course) and breakfast (buffet) were very delicious. The fish was perfectly cooked and had a wonderful aroma. 【Facility】The floor with the breakfast venue (G floor) is not accessible by elevator, which can be challenging for those with mobility issues. 【Service】The staff were very polite, making the stay pleasant and enjoyable.

    Best value for money

    I have also visited Baycourt, the members-only version of Exiv, and even though this was the non-members version, it truly lived up to the Exiv name. The food was very delicious, though those with a hearty appetite might find the portions a bit small. As for the restaurant, there seemed to be many new staff members who were a bit unsure when explaining the menu, but it added a charming touch that made for an enjoyable stay. Even as a 24-year-old solo traveler, everyone treated me kindly and I had a wonderful time. I’ll definitely visit again soon!

    Heartwarming service

    I stayed at Grand XIV Nasu Shirakawa for the first time. Since I was traveling alone, the Shuttle Service from the station was truly helpful. From the Shuttle Service driver to the front desk staff, everyone was polite and friendly, which made me feel at ease during my stay. The Property was spacious, and I almost got lost. The large public bath, including the open-air bath, was sufficiently spacious, and since I arrived early, I was able to relax and soak in the bath all by myself. However, the bathroom was a bit cold, so it would have been better if it were warmer. The nighttime illumination of the main entrance was very beautiful. Despite the cold, I went outside to enjoy it. The breakfast was not only accompanied by the staff's courteous service but also had a rich variety. There were many delicious dishes that made use of ingredients and cooking styles from Fukushima. I was also delighted to have freshly made omelets and omurice. Additionally, when I realized I had left something behind in my Room at the time of checkout, I contacted the Hotel from the Shuttle Service bus. They promptly checked my Room and found the item I had forgotten in a drawer. When I asked them to send it to me cash on delivery, they kindly offered to send it free of charge, which I gratefully accepted. The forgotten item arrived at my home the following evening. Along with the package, there was a postcard offering a complimentary drink for my next stay. Their prompt, courteous, and heartwarming service was truly helpful, and I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    The food is delicious.

    Dinner was a Japanese set meal, and breakfast was a buffet, both of which were sufficient for a couple in their 70s. It was a Multiple Night Stay, but the meals were different, which was nice. The omelet and mini omelet rice were served hot and were delicious. The shampoo and conditioner provided were pleasant to use.

    Thank you for your hospitality.

    The staff's hospitality and service were excellent. As expected from Exiv. The spa and meals were also good. Breakfast was a bit crowded on Saturday with many people eating before golf, but that's to be expected. The Facility is a bit aged, and compared to others, it's becoming a bit old, especially the exterior caught my attention. Next time, I would like to stay for golf.

    We had a wonderful time.

    We stayed in a standard double room for two people on Friday night. The staff's service was excellent, and it was impressive to see so many of them always present. We had a Japanese set meal for dinner and a buffet for breakfast, both of which were very satisfying. My companion enjoyed "Saru Nashi Beer" and "Saru Nashi Sour," while I had "Saru Nashi Juice," and thanks to the staff's explanation, we enjoyed them all. As for additional charges, it was convenient to pay easily with a credit card during online checkout. My companion used the men's large public bath and said it was great, including the open-air bath. He actually went twice at night and once in the morning (laughs). It was also nice that towels were available in the bath, so he could go empty-handed. During check-in, they informed us of the most convenient location of the ice machine closest to our room without us having to ask. Although it seems unlikely that we will have the opportunity to visit Shirakawa in the future, we will definitely stay at this hotel again when we are nearby.

    Extraordinary

    My hometown is Shirakawa, and I met a friend I hadn't seen in 30 years in Shin-Shirakawa and visited here. The shuttle bus was also convenient. I visited the Exiv in Hakone in the summer, but I felt that the staff's kindness, politeness, and clarity of guidance here exceeded that of the staff in Hakone. The cute interior and luxurious sofas... I had a great time walking around the facility with my friend whom I hadn't seen in a long time. There were two hot springs, both clean and not crowded, providing a pleasant time. It was nice to have a relaxing time even without playing golf. The beautiful greenery visible from the window was also soothing. I was surprised by the many souvenirs for Ikkyu Diamond members. Although the room was a bit small, I had a great time.

    One of my favorite hotels. I always feel satisfied whenever I visit. Room, dining, spa, view. I don't play golf, but I'm satisfied.
