I stayed with my college-aged daughter, and we had a wonderful time. The view of the ocean from the open-air bath and our Room was absolutely stunning and refreshing. Every dish we tried was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed the luxurious performances of dance and drum shows. The staff were all very attentive and made our stay extremely comfortable. It would surely be enjoyable for three generations to stay together as well!

The meals are delicious, and the taiko drum show is enjoyable.
A shuttle service by the Kagaya Group, timed with the Thunderbird train schedule, was available at Onsen Station, making it very convenient. Upon arrival, the building appeared modest for a Kagaya Group accommodation, and the interior felt like a simple retreat facility. The guest room in the East Wing seemed quite old, and I felt I should have chosen the main building instead. However, my decision to stay at Aenokaze was driven by my desire to see the Gojinjo Daiko drum show, which I had been looking forward to. I chose a plan where I could watch the show from a private room. The performance lasted about 20 minutes and started towards the latter half of dinner time. Some reviews mention that it’s noisy; however, drums are inherently loud instruments. If someone dislikes this aspect, they can simply dine on floors where they cannot see or hear the show. For us, being able to enjoy such a unique local performance is one of this accommodation's greatest strengths. Living in southern Japan myself, opportunities to see Noto-style drumming are rare; even though it was brief, we were thoroughly satisfied with it. Since we opted for a private dining room, we enjoyed our meal in peace while also appreciating the drum performance. Additionally—and unexpectedly—the food was delicious, allowing us to spend quality time together. By applying at reception, we were able to take advantage of shuttle service from Aenokaze to enjoy an onsen experience at Kagaya’s main building as well. This allowed us not only access two different onsens but also explore their facilities. As for breakfast: Although served buffet-style within what seemed like an unassuming setting initially lacking high expectations— the variety turned out surprisingly extensive alongside exceptional taste! It left me impressed enough that among all previous stays featuring buffet breakfasts elsewhere—this ranked best overall! Unfortunately due largely due fullness leftover following hearty evening meals prior; I couldn’t fully indulge morning offerings regretfully so… While skipping welcome tea/sweets tickets provided upon check-in ultimately unused during stay itself; reflecting back now—I wish taken opportunity savor them instead! Lastly regarding staff interactions throughout entire visit: Their balanced approach maintaining professional yet approachable demeanor added positively overall impression formed gradually between arrival departure alike; By end trip reflecting fondly shared sentiment mutually agreed upon amongst ourselves— choosing here proved worthwhile decision indeed!

Elegant moments for adults
I was drawn to the view overlooking the sea. At check-in, they kindly asked about allergies, which made me feel reassured despite feeling a bit apologetic. I truly appreciated their attention to detail. The meals were delicious, and I enjoyed the impressive performances of "Nanao Madara" and "Gojinjo Daiko." The Onsen with dimmed lighting was also very pleasant. I had a relaxing stay and appreciated the elegant time for adults. The next morning, even though it was early and we were the only ones there, they kindly drove us to the sightseeing bus, which made me feel very grateful.

Stay at Kagaya Bettei Aenokaze.
This autumn, we stayed at the Onsen accommodation in Wakura Onsen, Ishikawa Prefecture: 【Kagaya Sister Inn Aenokaze】. It was our first time staying at this hotel. The hotel was very impressive and a great choice. The room was spacious with a beautiful design combining Japanese and Western styles. Additionally, the large windows offered a stunning view of the sea and the Sea of Japan. Dinner was Japanese cuisine, and while everything was delicious, as someone who prefers stronger flavors, I felt it could have included one or two more dishes with bolder seasoning. During dinner, there were performances of dance and Oni Daiko (demon drum) on an elevated stage which added to the enjoyment. For breakfast, we headed to the restaurant at 8:00 AM but were surprised to find it full and had to wait for seating—this was disappointing as it’s never happened before in any Ryokan or Hotel we've stayed at for breakfast service. However, once seated, we enjoyed a buffet-style breakfast with plenty of variety that left us satisfied overall. Overall rating: three-and-a-half stars... We would consider staying again if it's in this type of room!

I stayed with my chi...
I stayed with my children. The view from the room was amazing. The large public bath had a dedicated diaper disposal bin, making it a family-friendly accommodation. Dinner was delicious, but the quality of the breakfast buffet was not very impressive.

It was excellent.
The room with a bed that was different from the one reserved was provided and changed for us, which was very nice. Recently, I find it tiresome to sleep on futons, so even at an Onsen accommodation, I tend to look for rooms with beds. Beds facing the ocean are commonly seen in ocean-view rooms these days, and they definitely enhance the mood. The room's facilities were more refined compared to traditional Japanese-style rooms; there were comfortable loungewear instead of yukata for sleeping, a shower room instead of a bath when not needed, and sofa seating by the window. It’s much better than sitting on tatami floors in Japanese-Western style rooms with low tables—it just doesn’t feel relaxing or comfortable. This is highly recommended for those who want to enjoy gazing at the sea endlessly!

I'm glad I chose Aenokaze.
We arrived a little earlier than the check-in time, but we were promptly checked in and guided to our room. It was a spacious Japanese-style room with a stunning ocean view. We didn’t expect it to be so close to the sea, which made us incredibly happy. The outdoor Onsen in the evening was almost like having it all to ourselves... In the morning, we enjoyed the Onsen again while watching the sunrise. We fully indulged in the Onsen experience. The shuttle service to Kaga-ya’s bathhouse was also provided, making this trip an Onsen-filled delight. The buffet for dinner and breakfast offered plenty of options for both adults and children, with fresh and delicious seafood as well. Our child wanted to play in the pool but unfortunately couldn’t due to time constraints; it would be great if pool hours could extend later into the evening. We definitely plan on staying here again when visiting Wakura Onsen!
