    Creamy Corn Soup

    The corn purée soup served at dinner was delicious! The dessert had a clever idea that made me chuckle, and I could really see the chef’s tireless effort. It was wonderful. Breakfast was completely satisfying every time—I finished everything.

    Exceptional Cuisine

    Everything was thoughtfully prepared and truly delicious; the foie gras, in particular, was cooked in a way I’d never experienced before and was astonishingly good. The ayu was also expertly prepared and delicious, but I got too full to finish it all the way to the head, which was a shame. Next time, I’d like to come with a bigger appetite and take on the challenge.

    A cozy Hotel

    This was my first time staying here. First of all, every meal was delicious, and the alcohol prices were very reasonable, so I was very satisfied. The staff were also friendly and pleasant, and I truly felt their warm hospitality. As for the facilities, while I don’t think it is a new building, everything was kept very clean and I had a comfortable stay. The massage chair was also wonderful and became one of the highlights of my stay. On the other hand, there were a few points that stood out to me. Regarding the Room, considering the Accommodation Fee, it felt more compact than I had expected, which surprised me a little. Also, for an Accommodation of this size to not have any private baths feels like a missed opportunity. If Rooms do not include a bath, even time-slot reservations would be fine—having certain hours available for private use would add a greater sense of exclusivity and further enhance the appeal of the Accommodation. In the dining area, there was no call button or bell installed, and staff were often not nearby, so I had to call out loudly each time I needed assistance. A small service bell would make dining much more comfortable. In addition, while partitions provided some privacy in the dining area, conversations from neighboring tables carried quite clearly—perhaps because the space is open near the ceiling. Since this is such a calm and relaxing Accommodation overall, adding some consideration for noise would make it even more comfortable. One more minor point: near the massage chair area there were several orchid pots with blooms already finished off. As it’s otherwise such a lovely space, removing plants that look past their best to be cared for backstage—or displaying them again once they bloom—would create an even more refined impression. Overall, what left the strongest impression on me was both the food and your staff’s hospitality—it made for a very pleasant stay. With improvements in a few areas mentioned above (Room size expectations relative to price; availability of private bathing options; easier ways to call staff during meals; better sound control in dining; tidier plant displays), this could become an even more satisfying and wonderful Accommodation. I look forward to seeing your continued growth and success.

    First Time at Itamuro Onsen

    I have visited Nasu several times, but this was my first time in Itamuro Onsen. It was a unique Onsen town. It is said to be known as “Shimotsuke’s medicinal hot spring,” and the Onsen really was excellent. It warmed me through, and I didn’t stop sweating for quite a while. The large public bath at this Accommodation had a wonderful setup and atmosphere. The building is modern, like a designer home. There is no elevator, so you will need to use the stairs. Rooms seem to vary, but the design feels prioritized over relaxation; aside from your Room, places to spend time include the sofa in front of reception, the bar counter, the free massage chairs, or the courtyard. The Room and bedding were clean, and it seemed you could choose your pillow as well. Meals featured local ingredients such as yuba (tofu skin), garlic chives, and river fish in just the right portions—we were able to finish everything. The rice was delicious! The sake tasting set was reasonably priced, and every one was great. It made me realize how high the quality of Tochigi sake is. The staff were young and hardworking, which left a very positive impression. Since we came by train, we really appreciated being provided with Shuttle Service. With that in mind as well, if you’re staying in Itamuro, this place would be my top choice.

    Seeing is believing?

    Although I’d known about this place for some time, I’d never stayed before because I’m not usually a fan of designer-style Ryokan. However, it has a great reputation for its Onsen, so I decided to try it on the way back from a trip to Yamagata. In the end, the baths were even better than I expected, and I’d like to stay again if I have the chance. (I was prepared for insects in the open-air bath at night during this season, but it was impressive that there were hardly any even when I went before 6:00 a.m.) The meals and service were also fine; however, one thing—I didn’t receive the IKYU Diamond benefit souvenir, so now I’m curious what it was (lol).

    Relax and rejuvenate at the Onsen.

    I had a relaxing and refreshing time at the lukewarm Onsen in Itamuro. The accommodation had excellent service, and the meals made with local ingredients were delicious.

    The natural flow onsen offers truly excellent water. Bath towels are provided in the large public bath, so there's no need to bring one from your room, which is very convenient. The meals were delicious with surprises all the way to the final dessert. However, I think having pajamas would be better since the samue serves as both indoor wear and sleepwear. The autumn leaves in front of the private room bath were beautifully colored in red and yellow, and I enjoyed soaking in the view bath while admiring them. I would love to make a reservation and visit again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Stay with Friends

    It was a long-awaited stay with my foreign friend. The room was thoroughly cleaned, making our stay very comfortable. The local cuisine offered was excellent in both quantity and quality, leaving us highly satisfied. The Onsen had pleasantly warm water, perfect for a long soak without feeling dizzy—highly recommended! The staff were kind and attentive, ensuring we had a truly pleasant experience.     I had a relaxing time with my friends.

    Thank you very much. This was our second trip to Nasu, and this time we chose Itamuro. We happened to find an accommodation that seemed relaxing, made a reservation, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. Since the number of guests is limited, the onsen was not crowded, allowing us to enjoy a leisurely soak. It may depend on personal preferences, but this accommodation is highly recommended for those who want to savor time with loved ones while enjoying onsen or meals at a relaxed pace. The bar service ends at 9:00 PM; unfortunately, I missed it as I dozed off after dinner—what a pity! During dinner, there was a child repeatedly slamming the partition doors quite loudly—something parents should ideally address—but thankfully the staff kindly intervened and handled it appropriately. In today's world where such issues are often ignored by others, their attentiveness was greatly appreciated. The next morning as well, knowing we were seated near them again during breakfast service, they thoughtfully offered coffee for us to enjoy in our room instead—a small yet considerate gesture that truly touched me. My friend also expressed interest in visiting again next year; I look forward to returning then! (I’d love to bring my mother along too but feel hesitant since she’s a smoker.)

    I stayed here for a one-night trip with my mother. It was my first time staying at a hidden gem-like accommodation with only a few rooms, but the staff's thoughtful hospitality made our stay very comfortable. Thank you very much. The atmosphere was quiet and pleasant without an overly touristy feel. The meals were delicious, with mild and well-balanced flavors using plenty of local ingredients. Both dinner and breakfast were served in just the right portions, leaving us satisfied. The room had wooden flooring with limited seating options. Instead of yukata, comfortable loungewear was provided along with a basket to carry items to the bath, which was convenient. An accessory tray would have been a nice addition. While mobile network reception was quite poor, the accommodation's Wi-Fi worked perfectly. As for the onsen, it didn’t have as much of an alkaline (silky) feel as I had expected but it wasn’t crowded, allowing us to relax fully. The outdoor bath had pleasantly lukewarm water that made it easy to soak for long periods; however, it felt slightly chilly in the early morning hours.

    The quality of the Onsen water was excellent.

    It seems that Itamuro Onsen has excellent water quality (moisturizing and smooth for the skin), and although it is located deep in the mountains of Nasu, I decided to visit. The private bath in the room with an Onsen was soothing, with water that clings gently to the skin, allowing me to enjoy multiple baths. The large public bath can also be reserved for private use, making it enjoyable as well. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity. Thank you for your hospitality.

    The meals are delicious.

    During Golden Week, we stayed at an accommodation in Nasu for one night. Without much knowledge of the area, we found it to be less of an onsen town atmosphere and more of a street-side location. From the room's courtyard(?), the neighboring building was fully visible, so we kept the roller blinds down throughout our stay. The low table in the living area(?) was inconvenient to use, so we spent most of our time on the futon. The futon was clean and comfortable to sleep on, and the staff provided polite service. The meals were delicious.

    Room with a natural hot spring bath, private open-air bath, and highly recommended dinner.

    The private onsen bath in the room is a rare feature. While a reservation is required, the private open-air large bath is very relaxing and highly recommended. Dinner was beautifully presented with a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. However, the tempura of young sweetfish was cold and hard; freshly fried would have been preferable. Breakfast was disappointing compared to dinner, resembling the level of breakfast at a Business Hotel, possibly due to many pre-prepared items. The room overall felt dark. While efforts were made with Airweave mattresses and down comforters, getting up repeatedly was inconvenient; offering Western-style rooms (with beds) as an option would be appreciated. The bathroom lighting was too dim for my wife to do her makeup properly, which she found frustrating.

    With only 8 rooms, the bath was never crowded, allowing for a relaxing soak in the wonderful hot water. The meals featured a variety of local dishes and were enjoyable from start to finish, both in taste and presentation. The staff were all kind and made the stay very comfortable. The bed was placed on a slightly elevated platform, which made getting up a bit challenging. We’ve found another great accommodation!

    The natural onsen with free-flowing hot spring water, without any heating or added water, was incredibly relaxing. I enjoyed soaking thoroughly and loved the large public bath with its net bath and foot massage features. The meals served in semi-private rooms were delicious. I also appreciated the private use of the large public bath, which allowed for a leisurely experience. The room's view bath was so enjoyable that I used it multiple times, staying warm even after getting out of the onsen. The futon was extremely comfortable; even my husband, who usually snores, slept quietly and mentioned how well he slept the next day. We were so impressed that we immediately made another reservation for November at this favorite accommodation we discovered! Thank you very much for your hospitality!

    I first visited three years ago during Golden Week and was deeply impressed by the warm and kind service of the staff, the delicious cuisine, and the serene atmosphere of Itamuro Onsen, which led me to return. This time, I traveled with my child, and everyone was so kind and friendly that my child quickly felt at ease. Being a small accommodation, we could almost exclusively enjoy the onsen, which was very satisfying. Meals were served in private rooms where we could relax while savoring fresh vegetables from Nasu, river fish, wagyu beef, and perfectly cooked rice. It’s such a comfortable accommodation that I wished to stay for two or three more nights. I look forward to visiting again for another relaxing stay.

    Enjoyed the essence of travel.

    I stayed for one night just after the cherry blossom season. The Room had a private bath where I relaxed before enjoying dinner. The Japanese cuisine was exquisite, like dining at a fine restaurant, and I was deeply impressed. The staff provided exceptionally polite and pleasant service. Breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes, all delicious, leaving me very satisfied. When departing on a rainy day, the staff kindly handed me an umbrella, which I greatly appreciated. I would love to visit again in the future!

    Our dream has come true.

    This was my first stay at Yamaki, a place I had always wanted to visit. Since my purpose was a workation, I chose the "Daidai" Room with a study. The study space was equipped with an office chair and light, making it very comfortable for work. As others have mentioned, the floor heating using Onsen water kept the floors warm, which was especially nice for someone like me who tends to feel cold. Although my room did not have its own Onsen, I thoroughly enjoyed the private use slots at night and during midday on the second day (as I stayed for two nights). Even during non-private hours, there were hardly any other guests around—just one person passing by—so I could relax without worrying about others. The meals were something I had been looking forward to, and they exceeded expectations—they were absolutely delicious! Personally, I particularly loved the soup dish; the broth was exceptional. Additionally, amenities were abundant in both variety and quality. The staff members were incredibly kind and attentive as well. Everything felt perfectly catered to ensure comfort. Even though this trip involved some work commitments, it turned out to be very refreshing and healing. I'd love to visit again when an opportunity arises!

    Kuro-chan is dedicated to natural hot spring water flow.

    I had previously stayed in Nasu and Shiobara, but this time I decided to stay at Itamuro Onsen for the first time. I was looking for a wooden Ryokan with a traditional hot spring atmosphere, and chose ONSEN RYOKAN Yamaki. Since I made the reservation just a week prior, the room options were limited. The layout felt more like a small hotel than a traditional Ryokan. The onsen with natural flowing hot spring water was slightly less hot than I prefer, as I enjoy very warm baths. However, the underfloor heating provided cozy warmth after bathing, which was very comfortable. The free use of massage chairs was an excellent bonus. The meals were thoughtfully prepared with attention to detail in both ingredients and presentation, leaving me highly satisfied. A wide selection of local sake and wine was available; I enjoyed some delicious local sake and even purchased Itamuro wine as a souvenir. Although the room featured low beds, my experience with the onsen and meals exceeded expectations. I would love to stay here again!

    It was good.

    We stayed with a couple of friends because the reviews looked good. The reviews mentioned that the dinner was elaborate, and we hoped it would suit our tastes, and indeed, everyone enjoyed it. The breakfast was also delicious, but I personally would have preferred the classic option of eggs in the morning. Additionally, the staff at the property were wonderful. Of course, the onsen was also great, with plenty of natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source.
