    We stayed during the...

    We stayed during the height of the rainy season front, on a day of heavy rain. The meals were made with seasonal and local ingredients and were very delicious. We enjoyed this year’s first salt-grilled ayu, stick vegetables, and grilled corn rice. However, I would have liked an explanation of the stick vegetables. The sauna was well prepared, including sauna wear, so we could relax and enjoy it. But because of the rain, when using the open-air bath and cold plunge we got rained on and couldn’t fully unwind, which was disappointing. My husband went to the large public bath as well, but I hesitated to walk there in the rain and didn’t go—also a shame. He said the hot spring water quality was excellent. We’d like to visit again on a sunny day next time.

    A welcoming Accommodation filled with hospitality

    The relaxing Facility, the charming Room, the wonderful cuisine, and the silky Onsen I could stay in forever—everything was exceptional. The staff’s warm smiles and attentive hospitality made it even better. This is the first Accommodation where I truly didn’t want to leave because it felt so comfortable. I would love to visit again.     Genuine hospitality, healthy meals, and my favorite Onsen water quality—everything was outstanding! The Onsen is a silky, alkaline spring with free-flowing natural source water. My skin felt smooth and deeply moisturized. Every dish was deliciously prepared using premium, health-conscious ingredients. All the female staff were attentive, courteous, and truly exceptional in their hospitality. This is an Accommodation I would love to visit again. The building is carefully maintained using natural materials, creating a body-friendly environment where it feels easy to breathe. I saw a negative review on a certain YouTube channel, but I felt that person simply doesn’t understand real value. Please don’t be misled by that information. A wonderful Accommodation.

    Excellent!

    The Room features both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, with silky-smooth hot spring water that feels absolutely wonderful. The large public bath also offers both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, so you can enjoy a variety of options. Unusually for a detached Ryokan with only seven Rooms, there is a table tennis area. Both the space and the tables are new, and we had so much fun playing again after a long time. This was our second stay, and we were very satisfied with both the meals and the Room. Thank you very much.

    An Accommodation you’ll want to return to, like your own vacation home

    This was my second stay, and it’s an Accommodation that left me completely satisfied with its Onsen, Room, and cuisine—all three are outstanding. I’ve enjoyed Onsen in many places, but it wouldn’t be an exaggeration to say the water quality here is the best I’ve experienced. It has a faint sulfur scent, and when you soak, the silky-smooth water feels like a veil wrapping around your body. The Room was quiet and comfortably prepared—such a relaxing space that I wanted to stay forever. On top of that, both the indoor bath and open-air bath are fed by Onsen water. The wonderful cuisine made the stay even more special. With luxurious ingredients, you can fully savor the season; the tableware is beautiful; and above all, everything is delicious. Each dish is carefully crafted, yet perhaps because it’s based on additive-free natural food, it’s surprising how you can feel completely full without feeling heavy afterward. The dining area is also private rooms with chairs and tables, so there was no inconvenience at all. The staff were extremely kind and welcomed us with lovely smiles. I plan to keep coming back whenever I want to escape everyday noise and find a brief moment of healing.

    This Accommodation offers a perfect satisfaction rating.

    The meals were delicious, and the Onsen bath felt wonderfully moisturizing—like soaking in a beauty serum—which truly impressed me. The service was attentive and excellent. The only downside was that the Room floor creaked, and it was disappointing that the door leading to the bath area would open on its own.

    Everything is excellent!

    The Onsen, Facility, and cuisine are all outstanding. The Onsen has a silky-smooth feel and is very relaxing, and it is kept at the perfect temperature no matter what time you use it. The Room is also a comfortable size and very pleasant. And the cuisine is exceptional—each dish feels like a work of art. This is a Ryokan I would definitely love to visit again.

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my wife and son's birthdays. We were very satisfied and created wonderful memories as a family. Thank you very much. The most amazing part was the onsen! The water quality was excellent and silky smooth! The private open-air bath in the guest room was also absolutely fantastic!

    Highly Satisfying Accommodation!

    We stayed in the Nagi Room as a group of three for my mother's birthday trip. There are many highlights, but we experienced exceptional hospitality and had a very comfortable stay. The quality of the hot spring water was amazing, leaving our skin smooth and soft. The meals were carefully prepared, and we could enjoy them to our heart's content. The Nagi Room was very comfortable, and having the option to dine in the room was greatly appreciated. With amenities like table tennis and a library, this accommodation is perfect for relaxing at your own pace. If I were to point out areas for improvement (though these are minor details), it would be that dust tends to stand out on dark-colored areas such as under racks in the large bath or shelves on bed boards. Additionally, the entrance of the Nagi Room is not highly airtight, so the hallway connected to it can get cold easily. However, with heating provided in the dressing room along with two sinks and two hairdryers available, getting ready was convenient without any delays! Overall, this is an excellent accommodation that I would love to stay at again. The garden near Sazanka Bath is beautifully maintained as well; I look forward to visiting during different seasons to enjoy its changing atmosphere. My mother also enjoyed her time here—thank you for providing such a wonderful stay!

    A Cozy Accommodation

    This was not our first stay, but the garden's atmosphere changes every time, and this visit was our favorite. Even though the view isn't particularly stunning or extravagant, it somehow feels incredibly cozy and comforting. The healthy cuisine and spring water with a texture like lotion were absolutely wonderful. This time, we stayed in the newest room called "Kanade." However, since we don't use the sauna or Japanese-style room, there were many "unnecessary" spaces for us, which felt a bit wasteful. Next time, we'll book a room without a sauna.

    Overall, I am satisfied.

    I visited after several years. The meals were very delicious, and although I didn't feel the service was great a few years ago, there are now more staff members, and everyone was very pleasant. Since it is a location with abundant greenery, insects are inevitable. It was very disappointing to find trash left in the bathroom of the room. For an accommodation in this price range, inadequate cleaning is unacceptable. The accommodation fee seems to have increased significantly compared to a few years ago. I hope for improvements as I would like to visit again if given the chance.

    The Onsen had a silky texture and an excellent quality, leaving a lasting effect on the skin for days after returning home. Both the room and dining area provided private spaces without encountering other guests. The service was not overly intrusive, allowing us to relax at our own pace. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were exceptional—elegantly seasoned and beautifully presented in exquisite dishes, pleasing both the eyes and palate. This accommodation offers high satisfaction in many aspects, making us want to visit again in different seasons.

    It was an accommodation I didn't want to leave.

    I visited after three years, and it reminded me of how I didn’t want to leave last time. The quality of the Onsen water is truly exceptional. Since there aren’t many guest rooms, the shared Onsen felt like a private experience even on weekends. The room also features spacious indoor and outdoor baths that you can enjoy luxuriously. Although I thought summer might not be as enjoyable for an Onsen compared to winter, the perfectly lukewarm temperature made the open-air bath so relaxing that I could soak in it forever. Unlike many accommodations where the open-air bath attached to the room is connected and visible from inside, here it’s completely separated, allowing you to enjoy it without worrying about privacy. The silky smooth natural spring water with plenty of mineral deposits was incredibly soothing and provided a truly healing experience. Thank you so much!

    For couples...

    Thank you for the wonderful experience. We travel across the whole country as a couple every month, and this was a rare gem! It was truly the best accommodation. Although there was no welcome greeting upon arrival, which made us wonder "huh?", everything started with a delightful welcome zenzai. The room was very convenient to use, and the onsen in the room had silky smooth flowing water... The sauna was also ready for immediate use, making it very enjoyable. What stood out most of all was the food!! Not only did it taste amazing, but the presentation and choice of tableware showcased exceptional culinary artistry! Dinner left us completely satisfied, so we were excited about breakfast as well—and of course, breakfast exceeded expectations too. Even receiving souvenirs made it an unforgettable memory. Thank you so much!

    A Hidden Onsen Accommodation in Fukuoka (Kurume)

    Stayed on February 9, 2025. Conveniently located, accessible from Fukuoka Airport via subway to Tenjin, then by Nishitetsu express train to Daizenji Station. Shuttle service was provided from the station. The Nishitetsu express train is free of charge, costing only 950 yen one way. The room was a renovated traditional house with an open-air Onsen bath attached. While the temperature of the Onsen in the room was slightly low, the temperature in the large public bath was just right. The meals started off ordinary but became more satisfying and delicious as they included upgraded dishes like Chateaubriand and Ise lobster midway through. It felt like another world despite being so close to the city. I would love to visit again if given another opportunity. On my way back, I stopped by Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine, which was crowded with foreign visitors—this made this accommodation feel even more special and appealing!

    Onsen trolley

    The quality of the Onsen and the lovely Room were both wonderful. All the dishes were delicious. I especially liked the Onsen eggs prepared in the garden and the dashimaki tamago for breakfast. The discount voucher for the cafe next to the Property was also appreciated; their parfait was delicious. Therefore, it was unfortunate that only the response from staff during my accommodation confirmation call was disappointing. Since I would be staying after work, I requested a pick-up at Araki Station before 7 PM, but they curtly said they couldn't come because they would be busy with meal service at that time (even though there was no specified Shuttle Service time on IKYU or on their website's transportation access section). I reluctantly hung up, but upon checking, I found out Nishimuta Station is a 5-minute drive away, so I thought maybe I could walk there. Not having any sense of direction in this area, I called again to confirm and then they said if it's Nishimuta Station they'd pick me up since it's within 5 minutes by car. If only they'd told me that from the start, it wouldn't have left such an unpleasant feeling. This person's phone response needs improvement.

    I stayed for two nights. The staff were generally polite and kind. The Room was not particularly luxurious, but functional. I have four main comments. 1) The water quality in the open-air bath and indoor bath in the Room is very good, but there are no safety handrails at all. It is especially dangerous for users, such as the elderly, to get in and out of the bath. (2) The dinner was wonderful, but the breakfast was very basic. Frankly speaking, it was the most basic breakfast I have experienced at a Ryokan in this price range. There was not much to eat other than a few appetizers, eggs, and rice. I was quite disappointed with the breakfast for a Ryokan in this price range. 3) During the second night of my stay, they did not replenish the bath amenities and water. It was as if there was no need to brush teeth or drink water on the second day. However, after I pointed it out, they provided them. (4) There was no body lotion in the Room, and the bath amenities were basic. When I emailed the above comments to the Ryokan, they said they would review them. I hope for improvements. Overall, it was a comfortable stay.

    I was very satisfied.

    This was my first time using the property. The bath was a natural hot spring with excellent water quality, and the open-air bath was very liberating. The furniture in the room was all to my liking, allowing me to relax. Above all, the dinner was incredibly delicious. It's a property that makes you want to repeat your stay. I will stay again.     This inn is as good as the reviews say!

    Despite the unfortunate weather, the inn lived up to its reviews during our stay. Since it's a separate building, an umbrella is needed for moving around, but beyond that, the meals, baths, and the staff's service were all satisfactory. There's nothing around the area, but staying at this inn is purpose enough. I recommend it to those who want to relax, enjoy delicious food, and have a stay that feels like home!
