Highly satisfied.
This was my first stay, and I was satisfied with everything—the Room, meals, Facility (bath), and service. They even provided Shuttle Service to Yubatake. Thank you very much for your hospitality. I would like to stay again.

The meals were excellent.
The fish dishes were especially delicious. I was pleasantly surprised that, instead of pickles, marinated tuna was served as a side with the rice. I would love to stay again.

When I mentioned that I have trouble with my legs and cannot sit on the floor, they kindly provided a table and chairs in the Japanese-style room. Thanks to that, I was able to fully enjoy the delicious meal. Thank you very much for your help.

Breakfast is not included.
This was my first stay in two years. I really like how excellent the dinner is for this class of Accommodation. The Onsen is also great, and it feels very comfortable. However, breakfast seemed lacking in both variety and taste, with many pre-made items. I understand it can’t be helped since the chef is different, but breakfast leaves the final impression of an Accommodation, so I was disappointed.

We were extremely satisfied.
Only 10 Rooms on a spacious property. The grove garden right in front of you is a private view (guests cannot enter), giving you the true feel of a vacation home. We were completely satisfied with everything—the Room, the semi-open-air bath in the Room, the open-air bath at the large public bath, and dinner featuring an array of premium ingredients considered luxurious in Japanese cuisine, as well as breakfast with just the right portion size. If we had to make one small request, it would be that the bath towels were a bit thicker.

It was average for the price.
With Golden Week over and the rainy season approaching, this may be what is considered the off-season. This was my first time staying at this Accommodation. I have visited Kusatsu many times, and at this price point I couldn’t help comparing it to “Kei,” where I stayed before, so it fell a bit short of my expectations. First, regarding the staff: they seem good at first glance, but during my second day they did not mention anything about cleaning, nor did they offer to replace towels. Also, while they do lay out the futons for you, some expensive personal belongings were moved around and ended up in a mess, which really shocked and surprised me. As for the meals, I found it strange that there was no mention of the head chef’s name. There was also no greeting from the head chef. The Onsen was good.

Kusatsu is always wonderful.
The in-room Onsen with free-flowing water and the private bath were disappointing. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. However, the biggest draw is still Kusatsu’s hot spring water. I wish they would take better care of the baths. I’m sure you’d understand if you stayed there and experienced the service yourself.

Luxurious Accommodation
We stayed during Golden Week as a couple in the detached suite with a fireplace. It felt almost too spacious for two: there was a bedroom, a Japanese-style Room, a Western-style Room with a dining table, an indoor bath, and two toilets. The garden was beautifully refreshed and well maintained by the gardener. Because the large public bath and the in-room bath use different hot spring sources, you can enjoy two types of Onsen. Dinner was served in our Room as a traditional kaiseki course meal. We were able to fully savor the flavors of spring and Joshu beef. There were no deep-fried dishes, so everything was delicious through to the end without feeling heavy. Shuttle Service to Yubatake is available until 10 p.m., so you can enjoy the lively Onsen town at any time, and when you return to the Accommodation, you can relax in peace and fully enjoy the Onsen. Next time, we would like to visit with our children and their family.

The cuisine, the Room, and the service were all wonderful!
This was my first visit to Kusatsu Onsen. From check-in until the 11:00 check-out, I stayed in the Room and truly enjoyed it. The guest room had three Rooms, so while my husband was working in one Room, I could relax comfortably in another. With in-room dining and a private open-air bath, plus a wonderful view from the Room, I never got bored and could spend the entire time there. Above all, the meals were outstanding! They were the most delicious kaiseki dishes I have ever had—each course was carefully prepared, bringing out the natural flavors of the ingredients, and every plate was excellent. I was also impressed by the perfectly attentive yet unobtrusive service from our staff member in charge. I heard there are many repeat guests, and I would definitely like to stay again. Thank you very much.

An Accommodation That Helped Create Unforgettable Family Memories: Tsutsujitei
My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of spring with our now-adult son and daughter on our annual family trip. For our first visit to Kusatsu Onsen, we chose Tsutsujitei, a Ryokan with a traditional restaurant, looking forward to the meals. Every dish, generously featuring seasonal ingredients, was beautifully presented and elegantly flavored, allowing us to savor each course at a relaxed pace. We also enjoyed the open-air bath surrounded by nature, offering a wonderful sense of freedom. If we have the chance to return, we would love to stay at Tsutsujitei again and enjoy Kusatsu Onsen once more.

The customer service was extremely disappointing.
This was our first trip as a group of four—my mother, my sister, my nephew, and me—and we stayed here at my nephew’s request because he wanted to visit Kusatsu. When we arrived by car, before we even had a chance to get out, a male staff member in his early 40s asked, “May I have your name?” in an angry manner—without any greeting or warning. Our whole family was shocked. After dinner, when we took the Accommodation’s car to see the Yubatake illumination, he said nothing even when we greeted him and asked for his help. On the way back, we thanked him and again received no response. More than anger, I felt sad—I chose this Accommodation to treat my family of three. I don’t know if something unpleasant happened in his private life, but I strongly feel he should sincerely learn the meaning of “once-in-a-lifetime encounter” and true hospitality.

We stayed for two nights with an infant. When making the Reservation, we selected “no bedding,” but they thoughtfully provided a baby futon and a diaper disposal bin, showing great attention to detail. The meals were also excellent, with plenty of unique ingredients. We also appreciated having an ample supply of towels and other amenities. The property is designed with privacy in mind, but some areas on the way to the large public bath were cold. In addition, the signage and front desk location were hard to understand, and our elderly companion got lost when heading to the bath.

The ultimate accommodation you’ll want to return to whenever you visit Kusatsu.
We stayed in a detached guesthouse. Kusatsu is one of Japan’s top tourist destinations, yet the location was very quiet and surrounded by nature. The large public bath, the open-air bath in our Room, the meals, and the service—everything was outstanding. Kusatsu is famous for its Onsen, but the dining and service here were on a completely different level compared with other Accommodations. If we visit Kusatsu again, we would definitely love to return.

A quiet, relaxing accommodation
Because it is a little away from the Yubatake, it was a very quiet and relaxing Accommodation. There are two types of hot spring water, and the private bath in particular was wonderful. The bath in the Room was very small, which was disappointing. I hardly used it. The food was delicious.

Traditional Japanese Ryokan
The staff were very kind, and the hostess was friendly and approachable. We thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen. While it is not a modern Ryokan like recent hotels, it is a charming traditional Ryokan that makes you want to return again.

Everything is perfect!
This is our favorite accommodation as a couple. We have stayed here many times, and every visit leaves us feeling completely relaxed. The hot springs, service, and meals are all truly exceptional. The cuisine, in particular, showcases the chef's creativity with unique ingredient combinations that offer a taste experience only found at Tsutsujitei. The warm hospitality and serene atmosphere create a truly special time for us. For us, this is "the best accommodation in Gunma," worthy of pride across the whole country.

Excellent
This was my first time visiting Kusatsu Onsen, and I chose this Ryokan because it seemed like a relaxing place to stay. The onsen facilities, including the large public bath and private baths, were excellent. The in-room wooden bath had slightly lower water temperature, but that might be due to its structure. The meals, especially dinner, were elaborate and absolutely delicious. From check-in to check-out, the hospitality was exceptional. This Ryokan is perfect for a peaceful and relaxing stay. I was highly satisfied and would love to visit again!

Exceptional dining and serene relaxation! Truly a Ryokan with a fine dining experience.
I recently stayed for one night and had an exceptional experience that far exceeded my expectations, living up to the reputation of this ryokan with its serene atmosphere and fine dining. The highlight of my stay was the meals. Both dinner and breakfast were served in a private room, allowing us to enjoy them at our own pace without worrying about others. The kaiseki dinner was not only visually stunning but also featured delicate flavors and creative dishes that left us completely satisfied. The portions were just right for us. Tsutsujitei is located slightly away from Yubatake, making it incredibly quiet and peaceful. Even though it’s about a 10-15 minute walk at a leisurely pace, we didn’t mind at all considering the tranquility it offers (shuttle service is also available upon request). We enjoyed both the large public onsen bath and the private indoor bath in our room. Both use water from Bandai-Ko spring, allowing us to fully appreciate Kusatsu's high-quality hot spring water that left our skin feeling smooth. The staff provided outstanding hospitality throughout our stay. From the matcha welcome drink during check-in to the attentive yet unobtrusive care from our room attendant, everything contributed to a relaxing experience. Thank you also for letting us park before check-in. This accommodation is highly recommended for those seeking quality cuisine and a calm, peaceful environment. I look forward to visiting again in another season!

A fully equipped accommodation
A trip for two to Kusatsu Onsen. Upon arriving at Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal, our luggage was picked up even before check-in time, allowing us to explore the Yubatake area freely. After our stroll, we called the accommodation, and they kindly picked us up at Yubatake. Upon arrival at the ryokan, we were welcomed with matcha and sweets. After a brief rest, we were guided to our room with a detailed explanation. We then enjoyed our first soak in the onsen. Despite being an acidic onsen, it was gentle and very relaxing. The meals were exquisite, delicate, and beautifully prepared. The portions were just right, living up to the reputation of a fine dining ryokan. Upon returning to our room, we found a small late-night snack of rice balls and pickles thoughtfully prepared for us. Including baths before bedtime and the next morning, we enjoyed the onsen three times in total. With only 10 rooms in a spacious garden setting, the ryokan provided a calm and serene environment, offering both physical and mental relaxation. As we departed, we were given onsen manju as a souvenir and were warmly seen off by the staff. They even drove us to Kusatsu Onsen Bus Terminal and kindly took us back to Yubatake after we stored our luggage in a coin locker. The hospitality was truly exceptional. We look forward to visiting again in a different season. Thank you very much!

It's truly inspiring.
First visit to Kusatsu Onsen! After marveling at the overflowing Onsen at Yubatake and Sainokawara Park, we headed to Tsutsujitei with excitement. The Onsen experience was exceptional, with two types of hot springs available: the large public bath and private Onsen in the Room. Both offered amazing water quality that we thoroughly enjoyed. Moreover, the baths were clean and well-maintained! The meals prepared by the head chef were all creatively crafted and absolutely delicious! Above all, the staff provided such warm and attentive hospitality that it allowed us to completely relax and forget about daily life. Thank you so much!

A renowned Ryokan preserving Japan's timeless traditions
In Kusatsu, a 5,000-tsubo property with only 10 rooms. The clean and spacious rooms were filled with a pleasant aroma. The private bath recommended by the staff was an open-air onsen in the forest. Listening to the chirping of birds was truly healing. The soft water from the Yubatake spring made 45 minutes pass in no time. The large public bath uses Bandai-Ko spring water. My elderly mother, who accompanied me, mentioned that her skin felt tingly at first but got used to it after a while. Perhaps because each room has its own onsen bath, the spacious public bath felt like it was reserved just for us, allowing us to enjoy it leisurely. Dinner featured meticulously prepared dishes made with carefully selected ingredients—an exceptional culinary experience. The hostess came to greet us and humbly said, "This is a simple accommodation; please take your time and rest." Such modesty! Returning to our room, we found neatly laid-out futons and evening snacks prepared for us—a moment of pure happiness. As promised by the hostess's words, we slept incredibly well and enjoyed another morning soak in slightly cooler onsen water than yesterday’s—a comfort that made me want to stay immersed forever. After savoring a delicious breakfast, I indulged in one last soak before leaving. When we returned from breakfast, our futons had already been tidied up—a rare gesture among accommodations I've stayed at before—and I truly felt their hospitality encouraging guests to relax until departure. Check-out was done conveniently in our room while all luggage was carried out to the entrance for us—another thoughtful service not commonly seen at other ryokans but greatly appreciated. Everything exceeded expectations—I would love to visit again!

Creative and imaginative cuisine
Our family, who loves food, looks forward to enjoying the creative cuisine here. The large bath can be enjoyed without crowding, perhaps due to the limited number of rooms. However, having more variety in breakfast and desserts like delicious yogurt and fruits would enhance satisfaction even further.

Worth visiting again, even from afar.
Kusatsu is a wonderful place worth visiting, even if it takes time to get there. The accommodation we stayed at deserves five stars in every aspect. The audio collection in the lounge is a treasure for enthusiasts. Next time, I would like to plan a multiple night stay and spend an entire day reading in the lounge. Tsutsujitei is an accommodation worth revisiting, no matter the distance. Thank you to all the staff for your exceptional hospitality. I look forward to seeing you again!

Surrounded by nature, it was truly relaxing.
This was our first visit to Kusatsu Onsen as a couple. We had several options, but we are glad we chose Tsutsujitei. We were looking for a quiet and relaxing Ryokan, and it was exactly what we imagined. The meals were delicious, featuring seasonal ingredients with surprising and beautifully presented dishes that made us look forward to mealtime during our two-day stay. The portions were just right, allowing us to enjoy both breakfast and dinner without feeling overwhelmed, which was truly delightful. The private Onsen in the room offered natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source, making our bodies feel warm and light whenever we used it. Additionally, the Shuttle Service to sightseeing destinations made exploring convenient for us. My husband and I are already talking about visiting again in December. We are looking forward to it! Thank you very much for this wonderful experience!

Calm and serene.
The hot water was excellent, and I was able to relax in the quiet atmosphere. The greeting from the hostess made for an enjoyable moment. It was a bit inconvenient that there was only a trash bin in the washroom area of the Room. I would like to use this place again. Thank you very much!
