    It was an Accommodation worthy of a special anniversary.

    We stayed to celebrate our wedding anniversary. You kindly arranged champagne and a cake to match our requests, which made a wonderful surprise for my wife. We were also very satisfied with the meals. With it being spring, we were able to enjoy the open-air bath in our Room right up until just before check-out. That said, due to the building’s structure, we could hear some footsteps and voices from around us. However, it seemed other guests were also considerate, so it was quiet at night and we slept soundly. Overall, we had a relaxing time and space and were very satisfied.

    Danger

    There are no handrails on the stairs or in the bathroom. Due to the narrow hallway, installation is not possible under fire safety regulations. In mid-winter, roads may freeze and become hazardous. I would not want to visit again.

    A serene accommodation for adults to quietly enjoy mountain life away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

    Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a peaceful time. With a maximum of five groups of guests, this small-scale Ryokan is perfect for those who love intimate accommodations. The traditional Gassho-style architecture adds to the unforgettable experience. Please note that due to the age of the building, soundproofing is not ideal, which might be tiring for those overly conscious about noise. The two private open-air baths in separate buildings offer unique charm and provide a relaxing space, though it can get cold in winter. The warmth from the wood-burning fireplace is delightful, and the piano is well-tuned. Meals are generously portioned, served with beautiful tableware. Next time, I look forward to staying in a different room!

    An accommodation that offers comforting scenery and a cozy atmosphere.

    Every 7-8 years, I find myself returning here. When it first opened, it was reported as an innovative luxury accommodation offering two sets of samue, no need to fold futons in the morning, free drinks, and private-use baths as its main features. This time, I noticed the thoughtful design of their samue again—easy to use, comfortable to wear, and perfect for relaxation. The free drinks in the refrigerator mostly featured local products that were both unique and delicious. I was particularly impressed by the taste of "Shinshiro Tea" in a plastic bottle. This accommodation is popular with both first-time visitors and repeat guests. The dining area is spacious and relaxing—you can sense other guests' presence while still enjoying a calm and private atmosphere. At the bath area, I appreciated how the attendant checked the facilities every time guests changed over. The entire property is surrounded by greenery. There are few ryokans where you can feel so immersed in nature like this one. The loquat herbal bath was mild yet soothing. Soaking in hot water while listening to river frogs singing along a mountain stream offers a rare luxury that might be hard to find elsewhere.

    From the moment we were picked up by car, the service was excellent, and as we proceeded with check-in and the explanation of the Room, our positive impression only grew stronger. The Room and bath exceeded our expectations. The meals were all delicious, especially the salt-grilled Amago fish and Ayu somen noodles, which were exceptional (the meat was a bit disappointing, so I rated it 4). They also paid attention to our departure time and made various thoughtful arrangements for us. I stay at Ryokans or Hotels 20–30 times a year, but this was undoubtedly one of the best experiences I've ever had. My heartfelt thanks to all the staff members. Thank you very much!

    Accommodation where you can spend time forgetting the passage of time in an old building

    The accommodation, renovated from a relocated building from Gassho Village, had a great atmosphere. In the morning, you can hear the chirping of bush warblers and the sound of a flowing river when you open the window. The meals and hospitality were also excellent. I appreciate their effort in researching interesting spots in this area. However, for those accustomed to city life, there were some concerns: ❶ Voices from inside the building could be heard... which explains why there was no TV in the room. ❷ The use of an oil heater felt outdated and unfamiliar. ❸ Although it is located near a river, the path leading to it was not well-maintained, making it difficult to descend without stumbling. Still, during pleasant seasons, this accommodation offers a nostalgic experience of good old times and is worth recommending overall.

    We enjoyed the time ...

    We enjoyed the time to do nothing. The historic Gassho-style architecture was very profound and full of charm. The staff's hospitality was excellent, adding a special touch to our extraordinary journey. We also enjoyed visiting the hot springs of the affiliated accommodation. Thank you very much!

    Excellent value-for-money accommodation

    I had a relaxing stay. The delicious meals, the wonderful onsen, and the excellent attitude of the staff were all impressive. And all of this at such an affordable price—truly amazing value for money. The room and facility seemed a bit dated in some areas (either genuinely old or with an older design). The public spaces were also slightly compact. This might be why the price is so reasonable. However, I don't think there are better options nearby. It was a fantastic accommodation.

    I visited for a relaxing retreat.

    We were looking for a relaxing accommodation nearby. We were deeply moved as a couple to find such a wonderful accommodation so close. The warm foot warmer at the dining area, the detailed explanation during check-in, and the perfect balance of attentiveness and distance from all the staff made us feel very comfortable with their kind hospitality. We would love to return here again someday. Thank you so much for two wonderful days!

    I have stayed here s...

    I have stayed here several times, and I was able to spend New Year's Eve to New Year's Day really leisurely and relaxed. It's nice to be able to spend time quietly without encountering many other guests. The guests do not speak loudly, and it feels like everyone is spending their time in their own way. There is no TV in the room, but the time without sound was precious amidst the busy days. During the cold season, entering and exiting the open-air bath in the room was chilly, so I warmed up my body once in the bath inside the property before entering. The open-air bath inside the property is also cold until you get in, so the cypress bath is recommended in winter. The meal included a sake tasting set, but it was nice that they accommodated my request to change it to beer. The meal was delicious, with each dish being carefully prepared, and it was gentle on the body. The room was spacious, and the heating worked well, allowing me to stay warm. Just walking a little inside the property calmed my mind. I would like to stay again in a different season.

    The meals were excellent.

    I was satisfied with spending a relaxing time. However, it was my mistake for not properly researching before making the reservation, and I was disappointed that the bath was not an onsen, so despite having a room with an open-air bath, I only used it at night. I should have confirmed before using it next time, but there was a notice in the room that payment could be made using the Shinshiro City electronic coupon through the hometown tax donation. I applied, but after applying, I found out that even though it was written as Shinshiro City electronic coupon, it could only be used by the Hazu Group, which left me feeling a bit dissatisfied.

    Visiting for the fourth time in four years

    The dinner here was visually enjoyable and delicious, so I used to repeat my visits. When I visited for the first time in four years, it seemed that the head chef had changed about two years ago, and unfortunately, the visual enjoyment that was there before was no longer present...

    Inn of Tranquility

    It was an inn where you could relax while listening to the sounds of nature. We were greeted at the parking lot and checked in on the terrace. We were offered sweets and tea to soothe our travel fatigue. We felt the negative ions all over our bodies as we went to our room. Indeed, you can feel the age of the facility, but the staff's attentiveness and the atmosphere were wonderful. Since it is inevitably connected to the outside, I was a bit taken aback by the number of insects. It might be because I'm not fond of them. The food was truly delicious. I ended up eating too much.
