    There is no large public bath.

    About 15 minutes from the city, it sits on a mountain and has an atmosphere that hints at what was once a luxurious Hotel. The interior has been renovated and was very clean. The amenities were well stocked, and it was nice that the hair dryer was a ReFa. However, if you travel with children, you may not be able to use the open-air bath, and there is no large public bath—only an open-air bath—so that was unexpected and a bit disappointing. I didn’t expect there to be no large public bath, only an open-air bath.

    Breakfast and Bath

    I stayed here with a friend on a trip to Okayama. The staff were very pleasant. Check-in was done via a machine, but a staff member assisted us, so I think it’s reassuring even for those who aren’t used to it. The front desk staff were welcoming, and it reminded me how I hope a Hotel or Ryokan should be. It’s located on a hill with panoramic views over Okayama, and the view from the open-air bath was amazing. My friend had read some Reviews saying the open-air bath was “not that great,” so we were slightly concerned before going, but perhaps that was because the washing area is also outdoors in the same area as the open-air bath—so on cold days or in bad weather it might feel tough. It rained during our stay, but the temperature was mild, so there were no issues at all. The bath felt very open and was wonderful. And breakfast was outstanding! Everything was delicious, and I definitely recommend having breakfast. I’ve visited Okayama many times but have only stayed at Hotels near the station; I’d like to include this Accommodation as an option next time!

    The open-air bath was amazing.

    The lobby had a very calm atmosphere, which was wonderful. The Room was clean, and the amenities were well stocked. I was happy to find a ReFa hair dryer. It was a Room on the 7th floor, and since the Hotel is on higher ground, the view was amazing and enjoyable both during the day and at night. Above all, the open-air bath was outstanding. Since I stayed on a Tuesday, it was my only disappointment that the Hotel bar wasn’t open. Next time, I’d like to stay on a day when the bar is open.

    Simply the best!!

    In a word, it was absolutely amazing! It seems the open-air bath and sauna were renovated last year, and it was the perfect Onsen for sauna lovers!!! The bed in the Room, with an Airweave mattress, was incredibly comfortable to sleep on!!! Breakfast offered a wide variety of options, everything was delicious, and the staff provided courteous service that made us feel truly relaxed. The front desk staff were also very polite, so overall it was an excellent Hotel!!! The underground waterfall was also very beautiful, and since you can go out into the garden, we were able to see it up close and felt soothed. I visit Okayama once a year, so I’d like to stay at this Hotel again when I’m there. Thank you very much.

    It seems to be a historic Hotel, but...

    This was my first stay at this Hotel. With its high rating on IKYU and the many positive Reviews, I arrived with high expectations, but the room felt very dated, and the biggest disappointment was the unit bathroom. The toilet was also old-style, with noticeable ingrained stains that felt unhygienic, and I was saddened to find hair left in the bathtub. If you have the budget to invest in an unmanned front desk system, I would like you to invest more in upgrading the guest rooms as well. As things stand, I do not plan to stay again; however, if I ever do, I hope it will have become a truly guest-first Hotel.

    It has improved.

    The breakfast seasoning has improved compared to before. The Room washbasin bowl still had cracks, but the hair dryer was a ReFa, the amenities were POLA, and it felt like things had become cleaner overall.

    Refa Hair Dryer

    This is a proper Hotel, not a Business Hotel. However, I reserved two rooms and had called in advance to request nearby rooms, but upon arrival, I was informed that the rooms were on different floors, indicating a lack of communication. After requesting again, they arranged adjacent rooms for us, but the check-in process took time. The open-air bath only had four washing stations; having more would be helpful. The view was fantastic! Both the room and open-air bath had high-quality hair dryers, which were great. However, the beds were old and made creaking noises from the springs.

    Retro-style Hotel

    I stayed last year (2024) as well, but this time I stayed when attending the N Dinner Show hosted by Okayama International Hotel. The food served at the dinner show was incredibly delicious. Both the presentation of the dishes and the tableware were impeccable and wonderful. It made me want to take some time later to visit the hotel's restaurant just for lunch. The hotel has a calm atmosphere with a retro feel, allowing me to relax both physically and mentally. Thank you very much for accommodating my request for a room on an upper floor; the view of Okayama city was absolutely stunning. I am looking forward to next year's (2026) 6th N Dinner Show hosted by Okayama International Hotel. This time, I fully enjoyed a meaningful and wonderful hotel stay. Thank you very much to all the hotel staff!

    A Hotel with a Showa-era Atmosphere

    50 years ago, this Hotel's banquet hall was the memorable venue for a university graduation thank-you party. **Room:** 1) The bed had just the right firmness, ensuring a good night's sleep. 2) The central air conditioning system provided comfort throughout the Room without direct cold air blowing on you. 3) The chic design of the wallpaper and interior created a calm and relaxing atmosphere. **Open-Air Bath:** 1) With just one card key, you can enjoy an open-air bath with stunning views. 2) No need to fill up the bathtub in your Room; simply immerse yourself in a perfectly heated bath for convenience. **Breakfast:** 1) While not extravagant, each dish was carefully prepared and delicious. 2) Ingredients appeared to be fresh and locally sourced rather than processed foods. 3) For example, salads featured various types of lettuce perfectly prepared with handmade dressing by the chef. 4) Fruits included local grapes, passion fruit, and mangoes. 5) The milk was fragrant and tasty—possibly from Hiruzen Milk or Ohayo Dairy Products Co., Ltd. 6) Bread was homemade; I toasted some white bread which was very enjoyable to eat!

    Beautiful

    The bath, garden, room, and hallway were all clean and beautiful despite seeming a bit old. The breakfast buffet was visually appealing and delicious. I was delighted that the bath amenities were from POLA.

    It was a luxurious Hotel, but access from the station was inconvenient.

    Located on a mountain with beautiful views and a tranquil atmosphere. However, during heavy rain, I took the tram from the station to Higashiyama, but there was no direct access to the Hotel from there. I called for a taxi but had to wait about 15 minutes in the rain before arriving at the Hotel. I called the Hotel for directions, but it seemed that taking a taxi was the only option, which felt very inconvenient. Despite being soaked in the rain, I enjoyed soaking in the outdoor hot spring bath. However, returning late at night was challenging due to long taxi lines; I arrived past 11 PM and couldn't use the bath. I wish morning hours could start from 5 AM or that it would be available 24/7 for more convenience.

    Accommodation with Stunning Night Views

    The open-air bath and washing area are limited, but it was relaxing and rejuvenating. There was a one-drink service, so we headed to the bar on the top floor. The night view was truly beautiful. I had an elegant time with my husband after a long while. The staff were kind and attentive to us, even though we don't drink much, which we greatly appreciated. It was an accommodation that made us want to visit again.

    The open-air bath is wonderful, with great views and facilities. The shuttle service to the station was very helpful. The breakfast venue was calm and relaxing, allowing for a leisurely experience.

    It was truly a wonde...

    It was truly a wonderful place. Beautiful scenery, delicious dinner and breakfast, and satisfying services overall. However, the front desk service was disappointing. This was the only regretful part of our stay.

    Lack of explanation at the front desk

    The hotel was clean and had a nice atmosphere. I stayed on an economy plan with breakfast included for one night. However, there were no clear directions for dinner, the open-air bath, or the elevator, which left me wandering around. I felt the explanations were insufficient. Other staff members seemed indifferent as well. It felt a bit unfriendly. A little kindness can mean a lot to travelers.

    The Best Breakfast

    The breakfast was luxurious and surprising. I stayed with relatives from Tokyo, and they seemed satisfied. I would consider using this accommodation again if I have another opportunity.

    Last order for the entire facility is at 20:30, and no food will be available after that.

    The scenery, views, and open-air bath were excellent, but the breakfast was varied yet lacked flavor. I couldn't have dinner as I slept, but instant Yokohama-style ramen was sold at the front desk. There was no bar, only vending machines, and the Hotel itself was far away, making it difficult to call a taxi. The airwave mattress felt stiff; however, I couldn't sleep well. My wife also mentioned that the comforter felt heavy and she couldn't sleep either. Regrettably, we won't be returning. Everything seemed half-hearted. While staff used polite language in their service to guests, there were no smiles; if management appears significantly strained to this extent, it raises questions about whether basic hospitality training is being provided properly. The Hotel itself had a luxurious feel and seemed very nice overall.

    The parking lot was spacious and helpful.

    They upgraded our Room. Although it is undeniably old, it is clean and well-maintained, so no complaints. Good value for money. The Hotel is located on a mountain, offering a great view, but there is nothing around. There is no convenience store, so it is recommended for those who need it to finish shopping before checking in. We checked in late, so we didn't go to the open-air bath. (Paid)

    Overall, a relaxing ...

    Overall, a relaxing and high-grade Hotel. The meals were satisfying, offering both meat and seafood like shrimp. The guest rooms seem to have been renovated, as they were new and clean. I enjoy going to the large public bath, but during this season, the washing area and the outdoor open-air bath were very cold. Although heaters were provided, it was still a bit tough.

    Spectacular view!

    I used it for the first time. The Hotel is located on top of a mountain, and the view from the Room is excellent. An open-air bath is available for an additional fee. Perhaps because of the extra charge, it is not crowded, and the view from the large open-air bath is also great! It is well worth the cost. I checked in after having dinner, but the breakfast buffet is also delicious. I would like to visit again in the warm season.

    Oh! It was a Plan that provided satisfaction beyond the price!!

    I stayed with the Open-air Bath & Breakfast Plan. The open-air bath I visited at the end was so cold that my teeth chattered, but once I warmed up to the core, the night view was beautiful, and the changing room was clean, allowing me to dry my hair slowly, so I was very satisfied. Next time, I want to check in early and try it during the daylight hours!

    I was surprised that...

    I was surprised that the toilet seat was not a heated seat. It was probably the first time for domestic use. The Room was also cold. However, the open-air bath with a view was very nice with a beautiful night view. There were also few users, so I was able to relax.

    Great city view, excellent open-air bath.

    The view of the city and the open-air bath were excellent. I wanted to use the restaurant on the 13th floor, but it was a shame that a reservation was required three days in advance. I took the shuttle bus to Okayama Station and ate 200g of sukiyaki at Niku no Hosoda, which was quite nice with a private room feel. It was actually our wedding anniversary, and I wanted to enjoy a luxurious meal at the hotel's restaurant while enjoying the view, but the international reputation is disappointing.

    A low-level Hotel lacking in hospitality spirit

    This time, I stayed with my family for the first time. It was already raining on the check-in day, and it was also raining when we checked out the next day. We asked the front desk to arrange a taxi, but we were told it would be a 70-minute wait, and since there was more than an hour until the next shuttle bus departure, we decided to use the bus from the nearest bus stop. Up to that point, it was an unavoidable situation, but despite the fact that I had injured my leg and was using a cane, no alternative means were suggested, and we were only told how to walk to the bus stop, which was about a 15-minute walk. I wished at least they could have taken us to the bus stop by shuttle bus, but I gave up, thinking it was impossible for the staff who lacked any sense of service. Next time I visit Okayama, I will make an early reservation and use a hotel near the station, and I will never use Okayama Kokusai Hotel again.
