    I was impressed by the attentive service.

    Throughout my stay, I was impressed by the exceptionally courteous service from all the staff. The meals were beautifully presented and delicious—truly worthy of a gourmet Accommodation. Although the building is old, it was fascinating to hear an overview of how it withstood a major earthquake. The property is carefully preserved and used in an appealing way, allowing me to enjoy a calm escape from everyday life. The bar also had a relaxed atmosphere and was wonderful. It was a very pleasant stay, and I would like to thank all the staff. I would love to visit again if I have the opportunity.

    A Blissful Return

    From the Shuttle Service from the parking lot to the attentive hospitality, meals, and everything in between, everything was perfect and made for a truly comfortable stay. While many places in recent years have reduced staff and their service feels lacking, this long-established Ryokan showed us the true essence of thoughtful hospitality—anticipating every need. As long as I am able, I would love to return again on my next opportunity.

    It was wonderful!

    I stayed here for the first time in decades, bringing my parents along. The draft beer welcome drink was perfect after arriving in the heat and helped us relax right away. Our Room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable, and the pleasant music playing when we entered made us feel truly welcomed. We were able to enjoy both Onsen baths at a leisurely pace without running into many other guests. The Onsen on the lower floor in particular had excellent water quality, and the ice cream after bathing was delicious. Both dinner and breakfast featured many local ingredients, and everything—vegetables, seafood, and meat—was wonderful. I was especially impressed by the shelled gazami uni (sea urchin), which is hard to find in the Kanto area. Before dinner, we were also shown around the wooden dining building; it was outstanding, and I hope it will be carefully preserved for years to come. After dinner we had drinks at the bar, where the calm atmosphere made it easy to unwind. From check-in to being driven back to the station on departure day, everyone—including the proprietress and all staff—was courteous with just the right sense of distance. It was a truly satisfying stay, and I would love to return.

    Excellent hospitality.

    Due to staff shortages and the times we live in, it feels unavoidable, but recently I’ve noticed more Accommodations cutting corners on hospitality. In that sense, this stay was a refreshing reminder of what it feels like to be truly valued as a guest. From the parking area service to check-in, meals, and check-out, the staff were consistently kind and attentive, which I really appreciated. 　Regarding the meals, I had high expectations after watching YouTube videos and reading blogs from a few years ago. So I was a bit disappointed that breakfast has been Japanese-style only for some time now and is presented more like a boxed meal than I expected. It may be more about quality than quantity, but as a man I felt the portions were slightly small. 　I usually choose an Accommodation with an in-Room Onsen, but this is quite an upscale place and I couldn’t stay in a Room with an Onsen. Instead, I visited the large public bath many times. I really liked the open-air bath here. The medicinal bath also had a wonderful atmosphere that felt rich with history. 　If I have another chance, I would definitely like to stay at this Accommodation again.

    All the staff provid...

    All the staff provided excellent service, and we had a very pleasant stay. We stayed on Saturday, but for some reason we rarely ran into other guests in the building or at the Onsen, so it was nice and quiet. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again if we have the chance. Thank you very much.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    This was my No. 1 place I wanted to revisit with my mother, and we came back again. We truly appreciated how you gently guided us at a relaxed pace—escorting us along the shortest route from our Room to the bath and dining area, offering a supportive hand and kind words. The meals were outstanding; everything was delicious and deeply moving. In particular, the dinner dish “Maru eggplant Yoshino-ni with eel” had an exquisite balance of flavors and tenderness, and we enjoyed it very much. The Onsen, the food, the Room—and above all, the warm hospitality of everyone from the Shuttle Service driver to all staff—were simply exceptional. Thank you very much.

    It was very relaxing.

    I came here hoping to clear my mind. I’m glad I did. I truly forgot the passage of time and was able to relax. The food was beautiful and delicious... The Onsen water was gentle as well... I could also feel the warm hospitality of everyone at the Accommodation, and it became a wonderful time. I’d love to come again. Thank you for taking such good care of me.

    It was very relaxing.

    I chose this Accommodation because I’m drawn to charming old wooden architecture. The building was full of character and beautifully maintained—I was truly impressed. My Japanese-style twin Room had a tasteful modern design with the warmth of wood, and the greenery outside the window was lovely. I spent most of my time relaxing at the sunken kotatsu by the window. Although I was traveling alone as a woman, they kindly arranged a Room right next to the open-air bath, so I could go back and forth between my Room and the Onsen with ease and enjoy it again and again. Meals were served in a private room in this historic building—apparently once used as quarters for long-term Onsen stays—so I could dine slowly and elegantly on my own. I enjoyed comparing local sake, and everything was not only delicious but also beautifully presented with great care, on wonderful tableware. Chatting with the staff member who brought my meal also made for a very enjoyable time. I imagine maintaining an old building is no easy task, but I sincerely hope this remains forever as a uniquely Japanese Onsen Accommodation. With their attentive Shuttle Service, I felt completely at ease, so next time I’d love to visit again with friends.

    I was able to relax quietly and comfortably.

    I revisited after about 15 years, hoping to relax in peace and quiet after the Golden Week holidays. Just before arrival there was thunder and rain, but it was fine. I really appreciated that someone came out with an umbrella for me. In the calm front lobby, I enjoyed a welcome drink and checked in at a relaxed pace. I was guided down a corridor filled with the scent of flowers and took a short rest in my Room. Having the free-flowing Onsen all to myself was another wonderful way to unwind—thank you. Dinner is served in a private room within a registered Tangible Cultural Property building. It isn’t flashy, but the six appetizers were full of flavor. My top recommendation this time was the rockfish hot pot; the soy-based broth had an outstanding dashi flavor. There is also a great selection of sake, including many well-known labels from Miyagi, which you can enjoy quietly at your own pace. I naturally went to bed early. The bed felt a bit too soft for me personally. With 24-hour free-flowing baths, you can enjoy the Onsen privately whenever you like. Breakfast offered many refined side dishes—slightly more than I could finish, but very satisfying. Thank you. Checkout was smooth with no waiting, and I was taken straight to the parking lot afterward. There were some inbound guests as well, but I was still able to spend my time peacefully and leisurely. The historic building, Rooms, and interior design are all very relaxing. Thanks to everyone on staff at Yunushi Ichijoh, I truly enjoyed a quiet and unhurried stay—thank you again and again.

    It was very good.

    From the person who came out to greet us to every staff member who assisted us inside, the service was consistently excellent, and we received a very high level of hospitality. The Accommodation’s history, the character of the building, the Onsen water, and the meals were all outstanding. The entire Kamasaki Onsen area also had a charming atmosphere and was great for a walk. This is an Accommodation I can confidently recommend to others.

    Unchanging Accommodation

    This was my second stay, and I was able to relax thanks to the same welcoming atmosphere and attentive service, with plenty of friendly conversation. The temperature control for the in-room bath was a little tricky, but the water was excellent. The food was also very delicious. Many Ryokan these days tend to rely heavily on overseas staff for hospitality, but I felt you are working very hard. I hope you will continue to preserve the traditions that should be kept. I truly had a restful stay. Thank you very much.

    Everything was wonderful.

    Everything was wonderful, except for the distance to the open-air bath and the stairs. The food had a rich dashi flavor that suited my taste, the Room was relaxing, and above all, I was truly impressed by how attentive and kind all the staff were. I would love to visit again.

    The service was excellent.

    It was my first time visiting Kamasaki Onsen, and the staff provided wonderfully pleasant service, listening attentively to us while efficiently serving our meal. It was a quiet, soothing Accommodation where we could hear the song of bush warblers. I would like to visit again.

    Satisfied with the medicinal bath

    I stayed here with my 96-year-old mother. I requested in advance that the meals be smaller, and they kindly accommodated us. Even so, my mother—born in the early Showa era—couldn’t finish everything and lamented, “What a shame.” The food was, of course, outstanding; we were thoroughly satisfied. The fugu sashimi on the second day and the duck hot pot were especially superb. She also seemed to love the medicinal bath with its gentle feel on the skin, and ended up bathing six times over three days. We are also grateful to the staff who listened (probably) without showing any displeasure to an elderly person’s long-winded stories during meals. This was an Accommodation where we were satisfied with everything: Onsen, cuisine, traditional furnishings, and hospitality. P.S.) I carelessly checked out while still leaving medicine in the sleeve of my padded kimono jacket. Someone even went out of their way to deliver it to the Shinkansen station. Was it Ippei-san—the bath master I saw in a news story about a name succession? I can’t thank you enough.

    Delicious dining and attentive service

    I stay here once or twice a year and am a repeat guest. This was my first time staying in the Ichijo Suite. The Room was very spacious, and I really liked the king-size bed and the healing stone couch. The open-air bath in the Room was quite hot, but since I could add water, I was able to lower the temperature and soak slowly. For dinner, I enjoyed fugu for the first time in a year—tessa (fugu sashimi) and fugu hot pot. Everything was served at just the right pace, and the portion size was perfect. The staff member who assisted us always takes great care of us; they chatted with us in a friendly way about our previous stay and local sightseeing spots, which made for a wonderful time. They also adjusted the direction of my chopsticks for me as I’m left-handed (a service that really means a lot to left-handed guests!)—thank you very much. All of the other staff were welcoming with warm smiles as well, and coming to Ichijo always makes me feel at ease. The only disappointment was that I noticed an exhaust smell and noise from what seemed to be a boiler. Perhaps due to wind direction, the smell drifted into areas around the open-air bath and near the entrance. It wasn’t enough to make me feel unwell, but it might be difficult for guests who are sensitive to odors. I never noticed this when staying in a Semi-Suite Room, so next time I plan to book either a Semi-Suite or Yushu Suite.

    An Accommodation with wonderful staff, hot baths, and exceptional cuisine.

    We stayed as a family of three to celebrate our daughter’s graduation. Although it was February, we were lucky to have a warm weekend with no snow. Because Kamasaki Onsen is so close, we had never really enjoyed it before, but the water was wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed the historic architecture, the fun of maze-like corridors, and the delight of delicious meals served in just the right portions on beautiful tableware. It was a short trip that made all of us want to come back. Thank you very much to all the staff.

    We stayed here for a special occasion. The meals and the Onsen were especially wonderful.

    We stayed here to celebrate our proposal anniversary. We used the free Shuttle Service between Shiroishi-Zao Station and the Accommodation. The Facility is old, but it is well maintained and very clean (I think you’ll be even more impressed if you learn about the Accommodation’s history before you go). Above all, the meals and the Onsen were wonderful. We have stayed at various Accommodations across The whole country, and these two were the best we’ve ever experienced. We would love to visit again.

    Thank you very much for your heartfelt hospitality, which made our stay truly relaxing and comfortable. However, I was a little disappointed with the cuisine: the dashi flavor seemed different from before. It had an umami taste like a dashi packet, but there was almost no aroma, and I also felt there were no dishes that really allowed us to enjoy that flavor. The tableware, presentation, and service were all wonderful. Precisely because the staff were so excellent, it felt even more disappointing. I am sharing this feedback because I would like to stay again and hope for improvements next time.

    I was a little worri...

    I was a little worried because I was told that using stairs is unavoidable when moving around the building, but they kindly prepared a Room with the shortest walking route in consideration of my elderly mother. From the moment we first met the Shuttle Service staff at the station, everything felt different—in a great way! Even on the bus, we felt both reassured and excited. The high-quality service from all staff and every dish were completely satisfying. We will definitely be returning!

    I stayed for one nig...

    I stayed for one night alone before my errands in Sendai. From the pick-up at the station, check-in, room guidance, walking directions, meals, to the send-off, every staff member was wonderful and made my stay heartwarming. The room was old but equipped with floor heating and very clean. Dining in a building designated as an important cultural property was a rare and valuable experience. The Onsen is not large considering the number of guest rooms but being open 24 hours allowed me to enjoy it leisurely without overlapping with other guests. While I appreciated the 24-hour availability, I did notice some concerns such as ceiling mold in the outdoor bath area and faucet stains that seemed removable with cleaning. However, I found more relaxation in the medicinal bath area instead.

    Started the new year feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

    For the past 4-5 years, we have always stayed at the same accommodation, but this time we decided to stay at Yumori Ichijo, which had caught our attention before. The first impression was impressive: after parking the car and boarding the shuttle service to head to the ryokan, a journey of less than five minutes, we experienced an exhilarating feeling as if traveling back in time from modernity to history on a steep and narrow path accessible only by guests. This heightened our expectations. Check-in was smooth, and having one dedicated staff member assigned to us was a first-time experience. The person who attended to us was very knowledgeable and made dinner enjoyable without any awkward silence or tension often found in such settings. It turned out to be a delightful moment for us. Despite being a historic building, the hallways were warm, and being able to use the bath 24 hours a day left us impressed as well. When I went for an early bath at 5 AM and returned, I noticed six newspapers neatly arranged on a table in the hallway—a thoughtful gesture that truly reflected their hospitality spirit. It would be wonderful if more recent books (such as novels) could be added to the bookshelf near the medicinal bath area!

    Exceptional hospitality

    My husband's birthday falls during the New Year period, so every year we celebrate at a Ryokan or Hotel instead of dining out. We've stayed at various Ryokans, but this year was the best birthday ever. The natural flowing Onsen, the exquisite cuisine served in an atmospheric restaurant, the modern Japanese-style Room, and the amenities were all perfect. However, what stood out most was the hospitality of all the staff. Their attentive yet unobtrusive service made our time truly enjoyable—thank you so much! I look forward to visiting again for my own birthday next time.

    The hospitality is excellent.

    The staff who assisted us during our previous stay was assigned to us again (an amazing person), and they recommended drinks based on what we enjoyed last time, showing incredible attention to detail that made our stay truly satisfying. When we requested the same room as before, they reserved it perfectly using our accommodation data, which is greatly appreciated by repeat guests. The meals always impress us with their delicious flavors and beautiful presentation.     I stayed here during...

    I stayed here during my first trip to Miyagi Prefecture. The cuisine was delicious and matched the scenic Japanese-style atmosphere, and I enjoyed the two types of Onsen baths available. Personally, I was very impressed by the staff's attentiveness, such as escorting me to the dining area and checking in on my stay regularly. The only reason I rated the room slightly lower is that sounds from neighboring rooms were quite noticeable due to how close the doors were. When my neighbor opened their door, it sounded so close that I momentarily thought it was my own room's door being opened, which startled me a bit. This might have been unavoidable since I chose one of the lowest-tier rooms. That said, this accommodation is one I'd definitely recommend to friends if they are looking for a place to stay. I look forward to staying here again if given another opportunity!

    It was a great accommodation.

    This is my second stay this year. Last time, there was little snow, so I couldn't enjoy the snowy onsen view, which was disappointing. However, this time I was able to enjoy the autumn leaves from the open-air bath a bit early, and it was wonderful. This accommodation not only has great onsen but also offers visually appealing and aromatic dishes that are incredibly delicious. I had a delightful time here. The sashimi with dressing was delicious, and the chestnut rice at the end of the meal—something I wouldn't bother making myself—was exceptionally tasty after such a long time. Additionally, the staff's graceful demeanor left a very positive impression. Thank you for providing such a comfortable stay. I'll visit again in another season!
