    The Finest Hospitality Accommodation

I splurged on a one-night stay at an Accommodation I’d long admired. Having watched it on YouTube, I knew what to expect, but it was still an overwhelming experience. The attentiveness and demeanor of the staff in charge of my Room, along with their polite language, left a strong impression—it truly felt like a luxury Accommodation. The Room was absolutely wonderful, and the private bath was exceptional as well. The cuisine was stylish and very satisfying. They even accommodated my request during the evening performance, making it an unforgettable night that felt far removed from everyday life. I’ve stayed at many Accommodations over the years, and this is the best one yet. Thank you for such a wonderful day.

I had a wonderful time with my wife. After we got home, we ate baumkuchen and talked again and again about our memories at Takefue. Even today, we keep saying to each other, “We want to go back—again and again.”

One night is not enough at this accommodation.

The accommodation nestled within a vast bamboo forest is the epitome of luxury. It feels less like a place to simply rest your body and mind, and more like an accommodation to indulge in a special experience—best enjoyed when you have ample time and energy. It's an accommodation you'd want to revisit when you have the right timing, energy, company, budget, and mindset. You'll feel completely like royalty during your stay.

    Stayed on September ...

Stayed on September 21st. Although we arrived about two hours later than planned due to sightseeing, the Ryokan's response was excellent, and they kindly reserved a good time slot for the private bath, which was very helpful. The meals were satisfying in both quality and quantity; we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. However, one small disappointment was that during breakfast, there was a menu item to grill shiitake mushrooms, but the provided charcoal did not burn well enough to cook them properly. Other than that, everything else met our expectations. The staff had wonderful smiles and were very attentive, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. The Onsen was incredibly relaxing as well. The live saxophone performance at night created a great atmosphere and was enjoyable too. Next time, I would like to visit with my family. Thank you very much!

    A Relaxing Day Off

This was my first time staying at Takefue. It is a highly sought-after accommodation that is difficult to book, but I managed to stay during the three-day weekend. The location, room, and meals were all highly satisfying. Drinks were available in various spots, creating a wonderful environment where you could relax and take a break anywhere. I explored the premises and found the bamboo grove stunningly beautiful, with ducks wandering around adding charm to the scenery. Although I only listened to live music from my room during dinner, it was still very enjoyable. The private bath was spacious enough for two people to feel luxurious and indulgent. I frequently visit accommodations in Kyushu about every other week, but this one ranks among the top-tier places I've stayed at. During this season, the vibrant greenery made the bamboo grove even more captivating. The staff member who assisted us was a young man but provided excellent service that truly conveyed their hospitality spirit. This accommodation is perfect for experiencing seasonal beauty—imagine autumn leaves or snow against the bamboo grove; just thinking about it makes me want to return again soon! While it may not be inexpensive, considering its added value makes it quite reasonable. In fact, I had reservations at three accommodations in August but canceled them all because I wanted to stay here again instead! This place combines traditional charm with modern innovation. If you're reading this review, I highly recommend visiting at least once. Thank you very much for your exceptional hospitality!

Experience the extraordinary with a relaxing and soothing hot spring accommodation.

Having lived in the United States for over 30 years, this stay allowed me to fully enjoy the unique "extraordinary" experience that only Japan can offer. First, I was able to completely relax with the serene and tranquil flow of time, as if entirely disconnected from the outside world. The live saxophone performance before dinner was fantastic, featuring nostalgic selections for our generation that made us hum along. The sound of the saxophone blended into the magical atmosphere, creating a dreamlike sensation. The Onsen offered a variety of options, each equipped with drinks and towels for convenience—perfect for enjoying hands-free relaxation. Our room featured a spacious private Onsen complete with reclining baths and foot baths, allowing us to indulge in pure luxury without doing anything at all. It was an ideal space where we could forget time and simply unwind in peace. The meals were also exceptional; both dinner and breakfast showcased meticulous preparation that highlighted the natural flavors of each ingredient. I especially appreciated being able to choose from several dessert options—all of which were delicious! This is truly an accommodation designed for adults seeking relaxation—I would love to visit again!

It was an accommodation that left us with a feeling of reluctance to leave.

We stayed as a group of three, including my mother and daughter. Upon arrival at the accommodation via the shuttle service, we were warmly welcomed by many staff members, exceeding our expectations with their hospitality. We chose the room "Takekiri," which was thoughtfully designed with attention to detail. The room was well-equipped with amenities, and we were delighted by the complimentary soft drinks in the refrigerator. Bamboo water (Silica 99mg) was provided in the room, and to our surprise, even the tap water was bamboo water, allowing us to enjoy silica-rich water freely. We used the private bath "Chikurin no Yu," surrounded by a magnificent bamboo grove that created a luxurious atmosphere. The soothing quality of the hot spring made it an unforgettable experience. All tableware used during meals was made from bamboo, showcasing meticulous craftsmanship that left us deeply impressed. The cuisine reflected the chef's passion and care; each dish was not only delicious but also visually delightful. The attentiveness of our assigned staff member added to our wonderful stay. Although it was just a one-night stay, time seemed to pass so slowly in this serene bamboo grove setting that it felt like two nights had gone by. However, we found it slightly challenging to locate how to turn off the fire switch under the TV in our room—an initial explanation would have been helpful. Thank you for providing such a memorable accommodation experience! My mother thoroughly enjoyed her time here as well; it truly became a blissful moment for all of us as a family. We look forward to visiting again!

    Excellent service and facility.

We had an amazing experience. Even though it rained heavily at night, it added to the charm. The hospitality that complemented the excellence of the Facility was truly outstanding, keeping us excited throughout our stay. The manager, in particular, was exceptionally polite and dedicated to ensuring a great experience. The open-air bath offered a comfort that felt like another world. As for the meals, the lobster was the best we've ever had, and the dessert was simply breathtaking. My wife loved it so much that we plan to visit again in a different season. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience!

    During our previous ...

During our previous stay, we were deeply impressed by the excellent service and hospitality of the room staff, so this time we decided to visit for my two sons' graduation celebration. However, during this visit, I noticed some disappointing details such as small pieces of trash in the room's hallway, ingredients I had mentioned disliking being included in meals, and sandals not being properly arranged. Additionally, when guided to the private open-air bath, the staff seemed busy and walked ahead quickly; it was difficult to keep up while wearing unfamiliar sandals. When I mentioned that there weren’t enough towels for everyone, they pointed at a cupboard with an obviously displeased attitude and said they were there. It feels like a missed opportunity since your amenities are truly wonderful.

A Ryokan Perfect for Those Who Love Instagram-Worthy Spots

This accommodation, priced at over 100,000 yen per person, raised high expectations. However, the service and meals were disappointing despite the spacious onsen. The room layout felt inconvenient and seemed focused only on appearance. When I mentioned that the water was too hot to enter, the staff simply said it could be adjusted by opening a box but didn’t explain how to do so properly. For an onsen-focused stay, this was unacceptable as the water should have been at a comfortable temperature from the start. The meals looked luxurious but lacked flavor when tasted individually. Paying over 500,000 yen for such food was disheartening; only an additional shabu-shabu dish stood out as delicious. Drink prices were also excessively high. Even in the reserved cave bath area, the water was too hot to enjoy comfortably—who could even enter such temperatures? Desserts brought to our room later appeared visually appealing but tasted ordinary and seemed pre-made; parfaits were just fruit and cream layered together. During dinner, I asked if leftover rice could be made into rice balls for later use; while they agreed enthusiastically at night-time delivery never happened by morning! Was it forgotten? Breakfast offered nothing memorable either except perhaps wide onsens alongside well-stocked refrigerators being notable positives though expected given pricing levels here already! Overall impression suggests improvements necessary especially targeting better customer experiences beyond aesthetics alone catering primarily towards Instagrammers younger couples inbound tourists valuing photogenic settings exclusively rather than substance quality itself!

There are some issues, but it is still a wonderful Accommodation.

This was my fifth stay at Takefue. This time, I booked it as a birthday gift for my mother, who had always wanted to stay here at least once. From my previous stays, I knew the hospitality and atmosphere were exceptional, and I truly felt there is no other Accommodation quite like this—so I wanted to bring her. We stayed in the Mizune Room, which has been renovated. The indoor bath now includes a footbath area, and sitting there with my mother while looking out over the bamboo grove and enjoying sake together was simply wonderful. However, this Room is a maisonette style, and going up and down the stairs to reach the open-air bath seemed a bit tough for my mother, who is nearly 70. The outdoor corridor was also slippery due to rain the day before, so the stairs were especially challenging for her. She also mentioned that the Aesop shampoo and body wash labels had very small text and identical designs, making them hard for older guests to tell apart—I understand you are aiming for a stylish look, but still. There were also some amenities that felt too high-tech to figure out easily. This stay reminded me again that it’s more of a Ryokan geared toward younger guests. Another thing I noticed was that perhaps because this Room is close to reception, we could hear people talking (possibly staff voices) and other noises as they passed by—it felt a little busy at times and not entirely relaxing. That said, overall—and compared with other Accommodations—the level of hospitality here is outstanding. The woman in charge of us as well as all staff members were genuinely kind, and we could really feel how much they want guests to be satisfied. We had a very comfortable stay. For my mother’s birthday we ordered a Kumamon 3D cake, and you even placed our photo into a frame at the end—my mother was delighted. It became an unforgettable memory. Thank you very much. Also, during dinner we were served a rare sake called “Hofuku Zettou,” which was delicious and surprisingly easy to drink—I was truly impressed. Takefue has many charms as an Accommodation; looking at reviews online, some guests seem to notice various issues as well. Even so, it continues to be highly rated as an Accommodation where you can have “a special experience,” which must be because its hospitality and extraordinary setting resonate with so many guests. Thank you again for everything on this visit as well.

    We had a wonderful time.

I stayed at Omachi-an in October 2024. I was surprised by the warm welcome from everyone upon arrival. First, I chose a yukata and was guided to my room. Although my feet were wet from the rain, I felt secure as anti-slip mats were laid out. All the ice cream, drinks in the refrigerator, ramune, and coffee were free, but I couldn't enjoy everything due to time and stomach capacity constraints. The meals were very elegant and tasteful, and they were delicious. The portions were more than sufficient. The open-air bath was so spacious that it felt like a large public bath, and the water temperature was just right, allowing me to spend a relaxing time. I used the private open-air bath, "Bamboo Forest Bath," which was also spacious and allowed me to unwind freely. The flute concert had a very beautiful sound, and it was so soothing that it felt like the fatigue of the week was blown away. The service from the staff was excellent; they came promptly with the push of a button and handled even unreasonable requests with a smile, which was pleasant. I thought it was the best Onsen Ryokan I have ever visited, and although the price was the highest, I felt a satisfaction that exceeded the cost. I haven't been back for long, but I'm already planning when to visit next.

    A long-awaited return to Takefue

We visited with family for the first time in several years. The free space had scaffolding, and the rooms were renovated, which was very nice. The meal also had an increased variety of desserts, which was very appreciated by someone like me who loves sweets. The temperature of the hot springs was just right, and I was able to relax very much. The children also enjoyed it and said they want to go again! I would like to visit again with the children, so please take care of us then.
