    Perfect in every way.

    I’m a returning guest. No matter how many times I stay, everything is wonderful. The atmosphere, the staff’s hospitality—especially the cuisine and the Onsen—are so perfect that there’s nothing more to say. Of course, I’m already looking forward to my next visit.

    This was the best place we stayed.

    We truly felt your wonderful service and hospitality throughout our stay. The location, the meals, the baths, and all of the staff were genuinely excellent. You even prepared kaiseki cuisine for our 9-year-old son and accommodated a change to our breakfast time. Both the dinner kaiseki and breakfast were absolutely delicious, and it was clear how much care and effort went into them.

    Pickup service The Room atmosphere—everything was wonderful. The food was absolutely delicious, and we were able to spend a lovely time; we were truly happy and had a great time. We also appreciate the attentive care from the staff. Thank you for making our Miyajima trip unforgettable.

    Take your time.

    We revisited this time at my wife’s request for her birthday—she wanted to stay at Sekitei again. No matter how many times we come, it always fills us with excitement. The food was also very delicious. We were able to relax and take our time. It’s an Accommodation that makes us want to come back again.

    Excellent!

    It was my first time staying here, and I was very satisfied. The Room was separate, with no contact with other guests at all, which made me feel my privacy was truly respected. The meals were so elaborate you’d think “Is this really necessary?!”—and I could tell the chef genuinely enjoys cooking. That said, I couldn’t finish everything; it felt like such a waste and I was disappointed (laughs). The in-house drink service was also attentive, and it reminded me what true hospitality is. From the beautifully maintained garden to the tame(?) red koi (laughs), and the thoughtfully selected books in each Room—everything was impeccable. Nothing felt pretentious; it all felt natural, and I was happy to sense the owner’s playful spirit throughout. This is an Accommodation I hope will continue for a long time. I want to come again...

    Savor gourmet cuisine amid a beautiful garden and cherry blossoms in full bloom.

    My long-held wish to stay here during cherry blossom season finally came true. The cherry blossoms right in front of me were soothing, and I was moved by the beautifully illuminated garden and the moonlit night. The host and all the staff were wonderful—warm, attentive, and made my stay very comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, featuring plenty of seafood. (They kindly made rice with conger eel that I couldn’t finish into rice balls, which I enjoyed later as a tasty late-night snack.) This is a truly wonderful Accommodation that I would love to visit again in another season.

    It was a highly satisfying stay.

    My husband and I stayed here for the first time in 10 years, and we were able to relax completely thanks to the same warm hospitality as before. Although there was a minor issue, it was resolved immediately, and we were deeply moved by the attentive care of each staff member. After check-out, when we mentioned our plan to visit Miyajima's Mount Misen, we received detailed information about the ferry and tips for navigating Miyajima. Thanks to this guidance, we safely reached the "Eternal Flame" on Mount Misen. Blessed with good weather and beautiful autumn leaves, it turned out to be a perfect trip to Aki. As for meals, everything was delicious. Especially the fugu (pufferfish), which I had been craving for some reason days before—it was truly delightful! However, by the time we got to the final dish of anago rice at dinner, I was too full and couldn't finish it—I felt so sorry about that. But on our way back from Mount Misen, thanks to a staff member who made a reservation at "Ueno," we thoroughly enjoyed their anago bento. The bath in our room wasn't Onsen water; however, my husband remarked again this time that it felt like Onsen water—just as he did during our previous stay—and he kept expressing his admiration. We also loved the free drinks in the lounge—especially how deliciously smooth their sake was! The Onsen itself had wonderful water quality too; Hiroshima must be blessed with great water resources. Our room offered a beautiful view of Miyajima through its window. Watching Seto Inland Sea’s calm waters alongside Miyajima’s mountain ridges glowing under stunning sunrise hues while overlooking meticulously maintained gardens made us sincerely hope that we'll have another chance someday soon to visit again.

    A wonderful Ryokan as rumored

    It was my first time staying, and this Ryokan truly lived up to its reputation. The hospitality was evident in every aspect, extending to the meals and the garden. I believe it rivals places like Asaba and Tawaraya. Personally, I appreciated the understated elegance, which felt calming and reflected the owner's philosophy and the beauty of Japan throughout. This accommodation stands as a counterpart to Tawaraya. With Miyajima nearby, including attractions like Itsukushima Shrine, sightseeing is highly recommended; however, making the stone garden your main destination is also a great choice. The natural warmth and unpretentious demeanor of the staff who attended us were also very comforting. Thank you very much for everything—I look forward to visiting again!

    Enjoy to the fullest

    The phone service and welcome guidance were excellent. The rooms and facilities arranged around the garden were also wonderful. The meals, in particular, suited our taste perfectly, and we were satisfied with the inclusion of pre-ordered ingredients. As it was a celebration for my wife's 70th birthday, a "chanchanko" and "hat" were prepared during dinner; though shy at first, she wore them for a commemorative photo. In the private bar (a detached space just for two), we enjoyed delicious wine and whiskey while chatting with the sommelier, making it a delightful experience. Although the price was slightly high, we fully enjoyed the accommodation and its atmosphere.

    Stay at your dream accommodation and experience it...

    I had the pleasure of staying at one of the "dream accommodations" for the first time. The stay was positioned as a "warm-up for Noh viewing," part of an activity to "experience fine things," on the day before the "Moon Viewing Noh" at Itsukushima Shrine. Located in a prime spot overlooking half of Itsukushima Island across the strait, this accommodation offered retro charm from its entrance to its interiors. I was guided to a tatami room on the second floor with a great view of the garden, consisting of three rooms including an adjoining space. One room felt larger than 10 tatami mats. Most lighting was dimmable, creating an atmospheric ambiance after sunset. The bedroom was prepared with thick urethane mattresses and futons laid out, ready for sleep anytime. Downstairs featured wooden block flooring that reflected the owner's stylish attention to detail in architecture and design. Several lounges and garden spaces were available, each equipped with books and free drinks—a space filled with creativity and playfulness. Dinner was served in-room while breakfast took place in a hall on the first floor. Both meals were thoughtfully crafted dish by dish, making dining an enjoyable experience. The Onsen bath filled with healing waters proved effective when I accidentally experienced its ability to heal cuts overnight—a testament to its quality. This Ryokan has earned two Michelin keys, which I found entirely justified during my stay. It also seemed popular among international guests. Although I booked last minute, I managed to secure their final available room—an experience that brought me immense joy. However, there is one suggestion I'd like to make: While always fully booked may make this difficult or even impossible—if there are vacant rooms occasionally—I would encourage the owner themselves to stay in those rooms periodically. This could help identify any areas where updates might enhance guest comfort further—for example: ensuring sufficient lighting at vanities for women applying makeup or providing concave mirrors for men shaving more easily. Lastly, let me mention that “Ueda’s” conger eel rice owned by this establishment is absolutely exquisite!

    Excellent

    The highlight of this property is definitely the garden. The lawn is perfectly maintained with no weeds, and it feels soft and lush underfoot—truly exceptional care has been taken! Seeing families with babies laying them down on the grass brought back warm memories of home for me. Relaxing on such a beautiful lawn is an incredibly refreshing experience!

    From the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell, we had an incredibly satisfying two-day stay. This was an accommodation we had wanted to visit for years, and our expectations were sky-high. The ryokan did not disappoint. The cuisine, in particular, was exceptional. While staying here every year might be difficult for us, it is definitely a place we want to return to again.

    An accommodation that is always reliable and consistent.

    This was my fifth visit, and I felt nostalgic for the room I stayed in during my first visit. With work finally settling down, I decided to stay here again after several years. The hospitality remains unchanged, with attentive service that truly caters to every need. This time, there was even a surprise that surpassed the emotions of my previous four visits, allowing me to enjoy a blissful experience. The serene atmosphere made turning on the TV unnecessary—if not unthinkable—and provided continuous moments of relaxation. Above all, the meals were absolutely exceptional. It's rare for a trip to revolve solely around an accommodation, but this time as well, it became the main focus of my journey with little sightseeing involved. I hope to visit again soon. Thank you so much to all the staff members and especially the attendants!

    As a representative Ryokan of Hiroshima, we provided an accommodation experience beyond expectations.

    I had an amazing accommodation experience. This was a place I wanted to stay at about 25 years ago when I lived in Hiroshima, and it exceeded my high expectations. The guest room, hospitality, garden, meals, and even the chairs and furnishings that reflected the owner's attention to detail all brought surprises and excitement for a seasoned traveler in their 50s. The bath was clean and pleasant; however, since the natural onsen source is around 20°C with mild radon properties, I would have loved to try soaking in a cold spring without heating or added water (like those at Yuki Onsen or other facilities in northern Hiroshima Prefecture), even if the tub were smaller. It was such an exceptional accommodation that I hope to stay there again someday in my life.

    A Memorable Rock Garden

    Celebrating Mother's 70th Birthday

    We were deeply impressed by the wonderful cuisine and warm hospitality. For our 70th birthday celebration, they even prepared a purple ceremonial vest, making it a truly special occasion. Even my nieces, who are usually picky eaters, finished almost all of their dinner and were amazed, saying it was the best meal they've ever had. The anago bento we ordered for the next day was also incredibly delicious. We would love to visit again when traveling to Hiroshima or Miyajima!

    Visited with my elderly father.

    The Room on the second floor had a great view, allowing us to enjoy the scenery throughout our stay. The meals featured anago and seasonal dishes, beautifully arranged to reflect the essence of June. If I may suggest, a slightly larger humidifier in the Room would be appreciated. I had a wonderful trip with my father. We look forward to staying again if we have another opportunity!

    It was a girls' trip with friends after many years. We had paused traveling during the COVID-19 pandemic, but this time we went to Hiroshima to visit the popular Shimose Art Museum. When going to Hiroshima, we had decided on staying at Sekitei—and it was definitely the right choice! The view from the Room was soothing, and both our eyes and stomachs were satisfied with the amazing cuisine. If you're visiting Hiroshima, I highly recommend "Sekitei."     This was one of the accommodations I had been interested in for a long time, and I was lucky to secure a spot on the waiting list when visiting Miyajima. The spacious garden with fresh greenery was very pleasant, the meals were delicious, and all the staff were incredibly kind, allowing me to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I was surprised by the number of repeat guests but completely understood why. I would love to stay again if given the opportunity.

    I stayed with my son...

    I stayed with my son for the first time in a while. On the day, we left our luggage at Ueno in Miyajimaguchi, visited the newly renovated torii gate of Itsukushima Shrine, and relaxed with tea at Tenshinkaku. The pick-up car to Ueno was very helpful. Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a spacious room and could relax until dinner. Dinner was a feast as expected and very satisfying. Breakfast was also delicious with generous portions, and the rice cooked in an earthen pot was exceptionally tasty. This is an accommodation I would love to stay at again. Thank you very much!

    The meal was absolutely delicious.

    We visited as a group of four female colleagues. There were various spaces where we could relax and chat together or read books individually, making it a very enjoyable trip. Both the Property and the Onsen were excellent, but the meals were particularly outstanding. There was a variety of wine and sake, making it especially recommended for those who enjoy good food.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day. The Property is old, but there were various thoughtful touches, and on the coldest day of this winter, with snow flurries, the floor heating was very comfortable. The food was ordinary, but the soup dish was cold and not tasty. For us, who stay about 60 nights a year, the food at this price was average. The key point for this Property is its service. We hardly felt any warmth or smiles from the staff. Well, perhaps a Property that is almost fully booked has no need for self-reflection. In Japan, there are many Properties with full hospitality at more affordable prices. I think the management should visit more Properties across The whole country. It was a Property I had wanted to visit for a long time, so I feel disappointed.

    Located in a place with a wonderful view, the building has a charming atmosphere, and the entire premises are comfortable, making you want to spend the whole day here. Being able to enjoy local sake and whiskey tasting while admiring the stunning scenery was a significant point. There are plenty of books everywhere on the premises, which made me reflect on the owner's dedication and high level of insight. Dinner is a Japanese course meal, but it is delivered to your Room, allowing you to enjoy it calmly. Both the content and taste are excellent. The air conditioning is fully equipped, so it seems to be fine in both summer and severe winter. On a wishful level, it would be nice if the large public bath and, depending on the Room, the bathroom had more charm. Nevertheless, I felt it was the best among the many trips I have taken so far. I would definitely like to use it again.
