    This was my second stay after quite some time. It’s a small, traditional Ryokan with tatami-lined corridors, so you can walk around without slippers. The bath area was clean and the water temperature was just right, and I also enjoyed the free coffee in the lobby. However, perhaps because it was peak season, the service felt rushed—especially when preparing and serving meals—and by the time I ate some steamed dishes they had cooled down quite a bit, which was a slight disappointment. As for the food overall, the seasoning tended to be mildly sweet and light. The steamed sea urchin in the individual hot pot wasn’t particularly good. There were plenty of dishes and I left full, but unfortunately none of them really stood out.

    All the staff were very kind.

    We arrived by taxi from Hakodate Airport. There is also a bus stop within walking distance, which is convenient. The meals were plentiful, and the squid in particular was delicious. It’s best not to expect much in terms of the view from the Room. There are two convenience stores nearby, and the refrigerator was empty so we could use it freely. The Onsen was excellent, with smooth, light water. Everyone—from the front desk to meal service and futon setup—was friendly and always smiling, which was wonderful. We will stay here again when we visit Hakodate.

    The meals were excellent.

    This was our first time staying here. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, and everything tasted great. The staff were extremely kind and took very good care of us. One small disappointment was that the bath was a bit small, and the futon mattress was thin; since we usually sleep in beds, our backs hurt and we didn’t sleep very well. Still, overall we think this is a very good Accommodation.

    The Facility and amenities offer a charming historic atmosphere, along with excellent service, meals, and Onsen.

    While buffet-style dining is common these days, having our meals served in the Room was truly wonderful. We were also very satisfied with the menu. We will visit again.

    A Nostalgic Japanese Ryokan

    It was a traditional Japanese-style Ryokan that felt like stepping back in time. Among the meals, the deep-fried kinki fish was delicious.

    Quiet Accommodation

    Although the Accommodation is located in front of a road, it was very quiet, with only occasional noise from planes flying in from the airport. Having breakfast and dinner served in the Room was wonderful as it allowed us to relax at our own pace. The taste and portion sizes were more than sufficient. The reason I rated the bath 3 was not due to the Facility, but simply because the water was a bit too hot for me personally, so I couldn’t stay in for long.

    An Inspiring Ryokan

    The exterior's charm and the sense of openness in the lobby as you step inside are truly impressive. The front desk is minimal yet warm, with staff showing thoughtful hospitality. The beautiful tatami-floored space, featuring an irori (traditional hearth), displays seasonal designs that enhance its charm. What impressed me most was the Room itself. Having worked with luxury Ryokans before, I can confidently say this Room rivals them in quality. The historical building has been meticulously maintained, showcasing its beauty and elegance. The tatami flooring is exceptional—unlike anything I've seen before—with original tatami edges designed to resemble pine trees, which is also the Ryokan's namesake. It was so stunning that I found myself lying down just to admire it closely! The tokonoma (alcove) was equally delightful, adorned with local black pine accents and a vanity mirror crafted for full-body reflection—truly remarkable details! Next time, I look forward to enjoying a meal here as well. Thank you very much!

    Finally had the chance to stay here.

    A well-known traditional Ryokan in Hakodate, I had always wanted to stay here since living in the area before. This time, I had the opportunity to stay for one night due to some errands and found a great plan, finally getting the chance to experience it. The building itself is not new, but it is well-maintained and clean, with no discomfort at all. From arrival to check-out, all staff members were friendly and attentive with warm smiles. The breakfast the next morning was delicious, offering a satisfying start to the day. The Onsen water was soft and at a perfect temperature—so comfortable that I wanted to stay immersed for hours. Although it was my oversight not bringing makeup remover (which would have been nice as an amenity), I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this charming accommodation with its relaxing atmosphere. It was an incredibly satisfying stay overall. This time I chose a breakfast-only plan; next time, I'd love to try their dinner as well! Definitely planning on returning again soon. Thank you very much for your hospitality!

The Onsen is conveniently close to the Room, allowing you to enjoy it without any hassle. The meals are delicious, and it’s an ideal place for a quiet and relaxing stay.

    A cost-effective traditional Japanese-style Ryokan

    I booked a 3-night, 4-day trip to Hakodate and chose to stay one night in a tatami room. It was a traditional Ryokan where futons are laid out and meals, both breakfast and dinner, are served in the room. The seafood-centered meals were delicious, and the staff at the accommodation were very kind. The only inconvenience was the lack of a hairbrush among the amenities. However, I think staying at such an accommodation for this price is excellent value for money. I felt they must be making great efforts as a business.

    The hot water was excellent.

    Less than a 10-minute taxi ride from the airport, making it perfect for a post-work getaway! The hot spring water was silky and smooth, truly exceptional. The breakfast was delicious, and I couldn't resist having seconds. Next time, I’d love to try the dinner as well.

    We were treated kindly!

    Stopped by during my move northward. Conveniently located close to the town and Mount Hakodate, which was great. Everyone was truly kind, offering advice from our perspective, which warmed my heart. Perhaps due to the age of the building, there was a slight smell in the room at first, but it disappeared with a deodorizing spray I happened to have on hand—so no problem at all. More importantly, I was very grateful for being able to stay at such a reasonable price on a Saturday when accommodations were hard to book. The ropeway for Mount Hakodate is extremely popular; after October it allows cars up from 9 PM (from 10 PM in summer), but there’s already a line of cars before 9 PM. Considering potential waiting times for parking entry, we decided to go up early the next morning—and that turned out to be perfect! With fewer people around, we quietly enjoyed watching the sunrise and started our day feeling refreshed. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the observation deck parking lot. We had a wonderful time before breakfast! (The accommodation had no curfew in particular; even late at night or early morning, security staff responded promptly—thank you!!) Having breakfast in our room was also fantastic! Thank you so much for everything!
