    Prepared with high-quality ingredients.

Unfortunately, the sky was overcast, so the Pacific Ocean view wasn’t as breathtaking as I’d hoped. Perhaps because I stayed in the cheapest Room, the Facility felt a bit dated and seemed due for a refresh. The private bath I rented for an hour was excellent, and I’d highly recommend it to everyone! Dinner and breakfast were prepared with quality ingredients and were truly delicious—nothing to complain about at all. For anyone who wants to relax away from noisy areas, this is a quiet and wonderful hidden-gem Accommodation.

    It was excellent.

This Accommodation had been on my mind for a long time, and it met my expectations—I was satisfied with everything. The meals, in particular, were carefully prepared one by one, delicious, and outstanding. It was a wonderful Accommodation where I could truly relax, unwind, and feel refreshed.

A place where you can feel connected to the Earth

Spending two days in pure luxury—without sightseeing, simply gazing at the sea and sky—truly soothed my heart. On clear days, you can see the distant foothills of Mt. Fuji; on typhoon days, you can watch the waves surge dynamically. Of course, the views are something you can only experience by staying here, but what left an especially strong impression was the outstanding hospitality. Every member of staff was kind and wonderfully attentive. The manager in a black suit at the dining venue was particularly exceptional—a true command center who gave precise directions to the team—and I was captivated by his voice as well. Seeing him there gave me energy. I was also happy that he came to see us off at the end. Now I understand why this Accommodation has been selected as one of guests’ top choices for a great stay. As others have said, the cuisine was beautifully presented and exceptionally delicious. It was the first time in my life I finished such a large amount so easily. Lastly, thank you very much for celebrating our anniversary with us. We look forward to visiting again.

We stayed in the maisonette as a family of four. Even with two beds and two futon sets, there was still plenty of living room space, so we could relax comfortably. The view from the open-air bath was outstanding. The meals were delicious, and it was a very satisfying stay.

    Thank you for your support.

Away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I was able to relax both physically and mentally. One small thing I noticed: the air conditioner louvers in the relaxation room between the indoor bath and the open-air bath were stained brown, which concerned me. I will definitely stay again.

From the bottom of my heart, I felt like coming back again and again.

Compared to my usual trips, I splurged a little to stay here, and I was unbelievably happy. Even now, just thinking back makes me smile. It was my first time experiencing “no shoes, and no slippers either,” and it was truly comfortable. I usually wear slippers without thinking, but I realized you’re always unconsciously careful not to let them slip off. The location goes without saying—it’s wonderful—and I got to spend an incredibly luxurious time just zoning out in nothing but the sounds of nature. I could relax to the fullest; it even felt like the edges of who I am softened. And then there’s the food—simply outstanding. This kaiseki isn’t about “I’ve never seen ingredients like this” or “I’d never think of this combination.” From the appetizer, soup, sashimi, grilled dish… they were all familiar ingredients. And yet every single one tasted like it was at its absolute peak. It made me widen my eyes and think, “This is the first time I’ve ever had something this delicious!” “How can something so simple taste this good!?” It was that kind of flavor—like setting a new personal best with every bite. The snow peas were beautiful, with delicate little tails still on them—yet when you ate them there were no strings at all. The pumpkin had been intricately cut for presentation; perhaps because of those fine knife cuts, it melted quickly in my mouth and left only its aroma and sweetness behind. The baby corn, carrots, snap peas—each had that crisp texture and full flavor that you can really savor. Honestly, the way everything was cooked was incredible. Speaking of precision: I was amazed by how crispy the skin on the splendid alfonsino was while the flesh stayed plump and tender—a perfect contrast. And yes—the balance of sweetness and saltiness in the dengaku miso was exactly right… Everything felt as if it stopped at precisely “the most delicious point.” Maybe that’s what being a professional means—but I was genuinely moved. The clay-pot rice cooked to match breakfast time may sound ordinary to say, but it was glossy with a strong rice aroma—I couldn’t stop eating it. The homemade saikyo-yaki black cod also tasted so good I wanted it to linger in my mouth forever. It was so delicious that I almost teared up (in a good way). There are so many wonderful Accommodations and great food out there that I often think, “Next time I'd rather try something different,” but staying here—and dining here—made me feel like “I want to come again and again,” even if the menu were exactly the same each time. Thank you so much!

    Wonderful

I’ve stayed here many times, and each visit brings a new sense of delight—this is truly an impressive Accommodation. This time, I had in-room dining for the first time, and the woman who served us was very pleasant, so I was able to enjoy a delicious meal. During our conversation, we discovered we’re from the same hometown and even attended the same junior high school, which made for a great chat. After returning home, I realized I had left something behind; when I contacted you, you kindly sent it to me, for which I’m very grateful. Thank you very much. I would love to visit again. I look forward to seeing you then.

A true escape into nature—for better or worse!

I was worried about bad weather, but the sun came out on the day and we were able to fully enjoy the wonderful views. The staff were generally kind and overall we were satisfied, but because our expectations were high, I honestly felt there was a slight gap between the Accommodation’s concept and the actual service. [About meals] I often go out to eat and may be a bit strict, but the flavors felt fairly classic. The portions were generous and very filling. I appreciated the thoughtful gesture of moving dessert to the lounge, and it was a fun memory that our prediction about panna cotta turned out to be right. However, the main meat dish at dinner was quite rare and I couldn’t eat it; I would have liked to be asked in advance how well done I wanted it. Also, because it was an open kitchen, I constantly felt staff watching us, which made it hard to relax while dining. The Iga rice in the morning was delicious. [About the Room & amenities] The amenities were simple for an Accommodation of this class, and I wished for a bit more sense of luxury. Guests go barefoot inside the building, but we only learned at checkout that slippers could be purchased; I would have liked that explained from the beginning. [About baths & insects] Because it was May, as someone who dislikes insects it was simply too much for me. A centipede appeared in the open-air bath in our Room and I got scared and went to the public bath instead, but unfortunately the water was lukewarm so I couldn’t warm up properly. The next morning as well, many stink bugs were floating on the surface of our Room bath water—it really shocked me. If insect spray is available in the Room, being told from the start would have been reassuring. If you are not good with insects, winter—when they are less active—may feel safer. I had also been looking forward to using a private open-air bath (reservable), but when I asked about it I received a response along the lines of “Since you already have a bath in your Room, you don’t really need to go…” which felt like a gentle refusal and left me feeling a little sad. [About lounge] The tea was delicious; however, I saw another guest order iced tea (not listed on menu) and have it brought to their seat. If this is something available upon request, I would have appreciated one brief explanation so everyone receives equal information. Because this is such an outstanding location, I hope hospitality improves through clearer guidance on small details so that it can become truly luxurious. Thank you for taking care of us.

    My No. 1 Accommodation

It exceeded my expectations and offered a truly extraordinary escape—an absolutely wonderful Accommodation. I was shown around the building and told it was fine to walk barefoot. I wondered if that was really okay, but it simply proved how impeccably clean everything was. Even when it felt a little chilly, the floor heating kept things warm and comfortable. The Room also had slippers and socks provided. In addition to yukata, there were bathrobes and terry-cloth pajamas—such thoughtful service. There were complimentary drinks and desserts in the refrigerator as well, which made me very happy. In the Room, all I could hear was the sound of the waves and Japanese bush warblers; otherwise, it was completely quiet. The view was pure nature, so I left the curtains open and enjoyed the private open-air bath in my Room again and again. Because of that, I didn’t use the large public bath. I even kept the curtains open when sleeping—I planned to watch the sunrise, but unfortunately it was cloudy, so I looked at the sea and went back to sleep. Not only were the Facility features and service excellent—the food truly lived up to every Review as well. The sashimi was delicious, and I even came to like abalone steak despite not usually enjoying it. It was beautiful to look at and incredibly satisfying; I left completely full. Since I got a bit tipsy at dinner, I only had juice at the lounge even though I’d been looking forward to it. Sadly, I also couldn’t manage any late-night snacks—but overall, the service really is outstanding. I will definitely return for anniversaries—and for non-anniversary trips too. Including overseas Hotels, this has become my No. 1 Accommodation. Lastly: some Reviews mentioned that the road is narrow; there were a few spots that made me nervous, but it turned out to be fine.

    This was my first st...

This was my first stay here, and over the course of two nights I truly felt, “At last, I’ve found my ideal Accommodation.” The young female staff member who assisted us was outstanding. I stay at Accommodations in a similar class about six or seven times a year—not only through IKYU—and despite her age, she clearly understands what true hospitality is and how to deliver it. I imagine the young proprietress’s character and service mindset shape the welcoming atmosphere throughout this Accommodation. Despite the seaside location, the measures against salt damage and overall Facility maintenance are exceptional. With coastal Accommodations, signs of aging tend to appear around windows and similar areas, but even considering the building’s age, I have rarely seen an Accommodation kept in such immaculate condition. Room housekeeping is also extremely thorough, and I was particularly impressed by how spotless the bathroom vanity and other water areas were. As for insect control, it may be difficult to make it completely zero in Rooms with a garden, but no insects entered the Room during our stay. Even as someone who dislikes insects, I was able to relax with peace of mind. Food preferences vary from person to person, but overall the cuisine had remarkable depth. It felt generous with ingredients and reflected the chef’s excellent sense. In addition, the fact that the menu is properly updated each month conveyed the Accommodation’s commitment and effort. Because our satisfaction level was so high, if I may share just one honest point: it felt a little unfortunate that there is only an indoor large public bath. Also regarding towels in the public bath—considering how high-level everything else is—I feel that an even better texture would make it more perfect. For bath towels in particular, I recommend bringing those provided in your Room. There are even higher-priced Accommodations in Mie Prefecture, but personally I found my overall satisfaction here to be higher. This is an Accommodation that made me wish I had visited much sooner. Although it’s a bit far for us, I would like to make time to return regularly. I look forward to staying with you again then.

    We were extremely satisfied.

I stayed here with my elderly parents! The Accommodation is barrier-free and easy to get around even with a cane, so it was perfect for my parents and me. The staff, Facility, meals, Room, and views—everything was wonderful. Thank you so much! The weather was great, so late at night we enjoyed a sky full of stars, and we could even see shooting stars and satellites with the naked eye. After returning home, I’ve been recommending it to all my friends! We’d love to stay again!

    A Few Minor Drawbacks

Thank you for your hospitality. We arrived by car, but the route had many curves and ups and downs, making it hard to see ahead, and we had to back up and reposition several times. A few disappointing points were: (1) I would have liked a hair cap for women. (2) I informed you in advance that I cannot have alcohol, and this was also confirmed at check-in, but the Room refrigerator contained beer and other alcoholic drinks (at more thoughtful Accommodations, these are replaced with juice, etc.). (3) At breakfast (a new female staff member), the rice paddle was put back into the holder with water while still covered with rice; when I asked for a refill, using that water-soaked paddle with rice stuck to it felt unpleasant, so I asked a nearby male staff member to replace it. These are minor points, but the food was delicious and the Accommodation was wonderful overall. I would definitely like to stay again.

    A Warm and Welcoming Accommodation

We stayed here with my elderly parents, who are currently recuperating. Even before our stay, we had made a few requests regarding the meals, and above all, we are truly grateful for the warm and thoughtful care shown by all the staff after we arrived. They kindly cut the food into small pieces each time and even prepared a serving of rice porridge. Thanks to this attentive consideration, my mother—who had been eating very little—was able to enjoy the meals while repeatedly saying how delicious they were. In the evening private open-air bath, the moonlight reflecting on the vast ocean created an incredibly beautiful, dreamlike view. At sunrise, the boundary between sky and sea seemed to melt together; it was so mysterious that we could hardly tell whether it was dawn or dusk, and we were deeply moved. Although it was a short stay for my parents, they said many times that they were truly glad they came. It is an Accommodation where you feel wrapped in warmth wherever you are; seeing the staff’s smiles and hearing their gentle words warmed our hearts as well. For my recuperating parents—and for our family—it became an unforgettable and precious time. We look forward to returning someday in good health as a family to see this scenery again. Thank you very much.

A one-of-a-kind location, breathtaking views, exceptional cuisine, and exquisite hospitality—enjoy a 3-night Multiple Night Stay.

One of my regular Accommodations in Japan, where I have stayed every year during my visits home since 2015 (except during the COVID period). The location, views, cuisine, and the one-of-a-kind hospitality from every staff member make this place truly exceptional. For first-time guests, the setting may feel overwhelming: a “landlocked island” perched on the tip of a sheer cliffside cape with nothing around it. The view is divine beneath the dazzling morning sun; calm and beautiful under clear blue skies; wildly powerful in a storm, as if witnessing the force of the gods; and under a full moon, your heart will be cleansed by the serene moonlit path across the sea. This time again I stayed in my usual Room in the Oroshi Wing (freshly and extensively renovated in summer 2024 and fully equipped with modern amenities). I’ve attached photos of this view that I’ve loved for over 10 years. Enjoying exquisite kaiseki cuisine in such a spectacular setting, soaking in Ryunosu Onsen, and admiring sky and ocean during a three-night stay—there’s no way it wouldn’t leave you feeling blissful. Every dish from the Executive Chef is deeply moving and consistently outstanding. I can’t welcome the New Year without it. Even with a three-night stay each time, every meal is thoughtfully composed differently—each plate filled with sincerity. I cannot thank them enough. The sake selection is also superb: they always manage to offer rare, hard-to-find labels, for which I’m truly grateful to both the restaurant/bar manager and the sommelier team. Another highlight during longer stays is the hand-ground coffee corner near the bar counter. The newly introduced cold-brew maker produces an iced coffee with an impressively clear yet concentrated flavor. Finally, this Accommodation’s hospitality is simply on another level. No matter when I return, it feels like coming home—warm and comforting. From the general manager and executive chef to each department manager, young proprietress-in-training (wakao-kami), front desk team, and everyone else—their smiles and greetings are genuinely uplifting, delivering impeccable service throughout. As always, it was an entirely satisfying three-day stay from start to finish. To everyone at “Oyado The Earth,” thank you very much for creating such a wonderful experience—I look forward to staying again on my next trip back to Japan.

We truly enjoyed an extraordinary, out-of-the-ordinary experience.

This 16-room Hotel, standing alone on a vast property, was a luxurious place where we could truly escape the everyday. Every meal was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The night sky was filled with stars, like they were falling—just like a planetarium. We couldn’t see the sunrise from our Room, but we were able to watch it from the observation deck. Next time, I’d like to stay for two nights or more and take a walk around the grounds.

A hidden retreat for adults. For a luxurious stay.

It was a wonderful Accommodation in every way. The view was amazing. Since there were no children, we were able to enjoy a very quiet and relaxing time. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, and the service was excellent. Thank you very much. There is nothing around, but I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a secluded getaway to spend quality time with someone special.

We stayed at this accommodation during a sudden trip to Mie Prefecture. The room was clean, and the meals were delicious, but the private bath had a stiff entrance door, and the air conditioning was dusty. It seems that whether slippers are provided depends on the grade of the room, so it would be nice if all rooms had them.

    A bit disappointing.

I stayed here for a visit to Ise Jingu Shrine. The view of the sea from the lounge, the room, and even the private open-air bath in the room was stunningly beautiful, making me feel truly luxurious. The public bath is a bit small, so I think you’ll find more satisfaction with the private open-air bath in your room. The entire accommodation is quiet and offers a great sense of privacy, allowing you to spend precious time relaxing while gazing at the sea. However, on this occasion, there was one disappointing experience. While enjoying a delicious dinner starting at 5:30 PM, another group who began their meal later became very noisy. It felt like dining in an izakaya (Japanese pub), which was quite disheartening and even laughable by the end. I believe it must have been challenging for the staff to handle such a situation as well. Although this kind of incident is likely very rare, it was unfortunate that I happened to be there during such an occurrence. Even now after returning home, what comes to mind first is not the wonderful atmosphere of this accommodation but rather that izakaya-like scene... I think this was an extremely exceptional case; without such incidents, it’s truly a great place to stay! Note: The road leading up to this accommodation can be slightly nerve-wracking!

    We experienced an extraordinary stay.

This was our first stay. Before arriving, we checked the location on Google Maps and noticed that this accommodation stood alone, surrounded only by the sea. It gave us a sense of excitement even before our trip began. From the moment we arrived, every aspect of the hospitality made us feel like we had entered an extraordinary place, and it was truly healing for both of us. The views from the room, lounge, and observatory were exactly as seen on Google Maps but even more breathtaking in person. The vast panorama of the sea and sky left us in awe! The scenery was stunningly simple with nothing unnecessary to distract from its beauty. Since we visited on a weekday, there were very few other guests around. My husband dislikes crowds and found this incredibly comfortable—he mentioned how much he appreciated that aspect as well. For dinner, I enjoyed my favorite abalone which was served in large tender cuts! Despite being thickly sliced, it was soft and paired perfectly with an exquisite liver sauce. Breakfast featured rice cooked in an earthen pot which tasted amazing. We savored it slowly while enjoying the serene morning view through the window. The room's bath maintained a perfect temperature at all times so I used it multiple times during our stay. We also tried out a private open-air bath at night; when we turned off the lights, the combination of darkness inside and outside created an indescribable atmosphere that felt like stepping into another world—it was incredibly soothing. The staff provided warm hospitality with just the right amount of attentiveness. Both my husband and I were able to enjoy a completely stress-free one-night stay without worrying about time at all. This is such a wonderful accommodation that makes you want to return again—it’s truly unforgettable. Thank you very much!

This is my third time staying here. The view from the Room and the bath are excellent, though it was a bit disappointing that the horizon was blocked by trees. Everything else was great. I appreciate the barrier-free facilities. The staff's service is kind, and I would like to stay here again.

    We had an extraordinary experience.

    - Rooms & Amenities We stayed in a maisonette room this time. Previously, we stayed in a maisonette room at Umi no Shougetsu on the opposite Chita Peninsula, and the size and comfort were almost equivalent—an excellent room. While Umi no Shougetsu offers sunset views, Ji Earth provides sunrise views; however, unfortunately, the sunrise was not visible from our room. On the other hand, we could enjoy a clearer view of the starry sky at Ji Earth. - Service There were some moments that made us think "hmm?" The male staff members were all very polite, but some female staff members had a more casual approach to service. It would have been nice if they greeted guests even when not directly attending to them or said "thank you" during check-out regardless of whether they were assigned to us or not. Additionally, it seemed like there were many repeat guests present, and we felt there was a noticeable difference in how they interacted with those guests compared to us. For such a high-end accommodation, it felt slightly below expectations for its price. - Onsen & Bath The public bath wasn't large enough to be called a grand bathhouse but offered good views. However, it didn't leave much of an impression overall. The private bath in our room was pleasant with refreshing sea breezes. - Facilities This aspect is beyond reproach! Accommodations with such unique locations are rare. The observatory deck is one-of-a-kind and left lasting impressions with its stunning ocean views and opportunities for stargazing. There was also an impressive massage chair available. - Dining The meals here were exceptional as well! One of my companions even rated it as their best dining experience this year. - Overall Satisfaction I first learned about this place through TV when comedian Tomochika introduced it as her favorite accommodation spot; since then I’ve always wanted to visit someday—and I’m glad I did! The location lived up to expectations and provided an extraordinary escape from daily life. Thank you very much!

The view was excellent, and the room was superb. The staff provided impeccable service with thoughtful care, making our stay very comfortable. The food was delicious and creatively presented, offering a satisfying dining experience. Although it was a few days after my husband's birthday, we were delighted by the decorated sashimi platter prepared for us. However, one disappointing aspect was the smell from the drainage system in the room that bothered us from the moment we were shown in. Even after running water, there was still an odor coming from the drain. Since it was a maisonette-style room, staying on the second floor helped reduce the smell significantly. It left me wondering if this issue had been noticed by housekeeping staff beforehand. Aside from this issue with odor in the room, our stay overall was wonderful. Witnessing Mount Fuji before sunrise left us deeply moved. Thank you for your hospitality!

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

I had been looking forward to staying at a luxury accommodation, and this was by far one of the best in recent years. The cuisine, in particular, was simply outstanding. While there are many accommodations with Michelin recognition, this one truly lives up to its name with exceptional dishes—especially the broth, which was phenomenal. The staff's hospitality was also excellent, making for a very satisfying experience. If I were to make one suggestion, it would be regarding the bar. Although free beer and wine are offered in the lounge area—which might explain why fewer guests use the bar—I found it disappointing that my favorite whiskey was unavailable. That said, the bartender provided excellent service and offered great alternatives, ensuring I still had a wonderful time.
