    We stayed in the mai...

    We stayed in the main building’s Asahi no Niwa last year and loved it, so this time we stayed at Amaharu. When we arrived, we parked in the wrong lot, but even in the heat they ran over to guide us and handled everything very politely. I would have liked the lounge to be a bit more spacious and relaxing. The meals were very delicious. Most of the staff are foreign, but everyone spoke Japanese very well and provided courteous service. We would like to stay here again when we visit Awaji Island.

    Service could be improved.

    I expected attentive service at Amanohara given the price range, but I was disappointed. At dinner, the ingredients were explained, but the staff member’s expression was stiff and the explanation felt routine, with little sense of hospitality. Even though there were plenty of open seats, we arrived early yet were not seated by a window with a view; instead, we were shown to what felt like an end seat along a busy walkway, which I found unacceptable. The baths and amenities were good, but it was disappointing not to receive service that matched the price.

    The Onsen temperatur...

    The Onsen temperature was just right, and the Room was clean and well maintained, so we had a very comfortable stay. The view from the Room was also great. The meals were delicious, and thank you to the staff member who looked after us for being so kind to our children. We would like to stay again when we visit Awaji Island. Next time, we’d love to come in a different season.

    The Perfect Vacation

    From the moment we arrived at the Hotel entrance, a staff member ran ahead of our car and guided us all the way to where we should stop in the parking area. We enjoyed the delicious welcome cake and drinks before heading up to our Room. The open-air bath was wonderful, and the view from the adjacent chair was spectacular—at night, under moonlight and a starry sky, it was a peaceful space filled only with the sound of the waves. Our first family trip in a long time as a group of four became an amazing experience thanks to everyone on staff at Kanbara. Thank you very much.

    Satisfied with breakfast

    It was the first breakfast in a while that I was truly satisfied with. There was quite a lot of noise from the neighboring room. Disappointing for a property of this status. The bath area was far away. I would have preferred everything to be contained within one building.

    We stayed here as a retirement celebration, with my wife, my sister-in-law, and me.\nSince our purpose was to rest rather than sightsee, we enjoyed a relaxing stay from before 2:00 PM until 11:00 AM the next day.\nBetween the in-room open-air bath, visiting different Onsen baths, the delicious meals, and the kind hospitality, the day felt far too short.\nThank you for such wonderful memories.

    Wonderful Cuisine and Tableware

    It’s wonderful that even the desserts are served with such thoughtful, creative touches. The tableware was also presented with great attention to detail. However, although alcohol was available in what was called a lounge, most of it was whisky-based. Other guests would take a look, but no one seemed to be making drinks. It would be better to have alcohol that can be enjoyed as-is. The staff who guided us to the room were foreign nationals, but their explanations were difficult to understand, which was disappointing.

    Early Summer Sisters’ Trip

    For the past few years, my sister and I have been traveling to stay at well-known Accommodations. Some Reviews were not very positive, so we were a little worried, but both breakfast and dinner were very delicious. Breakfast was a buffet for the first time in a while, and it was nice to be able to choose portions that suited my appetite. However, the coffee was served quite early; since I chose a Japanese-style meal, I would have preferred it later—after the meal would have been fine. The dressing served with the meat at dinner was sesame dressing, but I felt a simpler dressing would have paired better with the meat. Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but their Japanese was fluent and they were attentive, so we were satisfied with the service. The welcome drink set in the lobby was delicious, and with a lovely garden view and a cool breeze coming in, it really felt like being at a resort. The open-air bath in our Room overlooking the sea was refreshing and so relaxing that we ended up not trying any of the other baths.

    It was amazing.

    We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We chose this place because our previous stay was wonderful. At dinner, they kindly provided a birthday service. They gifted us non-alcoholic sparkling wine, took photos, and wrote a message on the dessert plate—my husband was truly delighted. The Hotel feels luxurious, and Amanohara is simply the best. I’d like to make another Reservation through IKYU’s website. Thank you very much.

    Everything is excellent.

    The views were wonderful, the open-air bath was amazing, the food was delicious, and there were plenty of large public baths. The sunrise in the morning was spectacular. I’d like to come again with my grandchildren around the time the new building opens next year.

    Enjoy Awaji Island to the Fullest

    I had planned to come with a friend, but my friend was unable to make it, so I visited with my husband. We were able to relax and enjoy Awaji at a leisurely pace. The meals were just the right amount and very delicious. The dining area also had a wonderful atmosphere. Our Room came with an open-air bath, and we could spend our time while enjoying the ocean view. We would love to visit again.

    A top-tier Accommodation worthy of the name “villa”!

    We came to stay this time thinking, “Let’s enjoy fishing along with the Onsen,” and it turned out to be an even more wonderful stay than we imagined! I usually choose Villa Rakuen and have stayed there several times, but I learned that Amaharu has a maisonette-style Room with its own private pier where you can enjoy fishing, so I was intrigued and decided to stay. The first floor has large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the sea, creating a wonderfully open feel. Beyond the view is a private pier exclusive to this Room. At dusk, the pier is illuminated, making it perfect not only for fishing but also for simply spending quiet time at the end of the pier watching the sea—an incredibly romantic experience. Fishing was supposed to be the main purpose of this trip, but the atmosphere of the Room with the ocean spread out right in front of us was so lovely. The pier at sunset had such charm, and on top of that, the open-air Onsen bath on the second floor felt amazing with the gentle spring breeze—I enjoyed relaxing in the Room so much that I almost forgot about fishing. Another highlight that exceeded expectations was dinner. We had kaiseki cuisine at “Tanetsu,” and every dish was beautifully presented, made with high-quality ingredients you could truly appreciate, and absolutely delicious. The wine list was extensive as well, giving it an upscale feel like a top-class restaurant. What impressed me most was how outstanding every staff member’s hospitality was. From being greeted with smiles as soon as we entered the parking area—to receiving explanations and guidance at reception from international staff—everyone was courteous and genuinely warm. Their attentive service during dinner as well made their hospitality truly exceptional. Also, when a light rain suddenly started that day, they quietly placed an umbrella by our Room entrance. Their thoughtfulness—making sure we wouldn’t face even minor inconvenience—really showed us what true hospitality means within New Awaji Group. We chose this Room because we wanted to fish, but it was comfortable; we could enjoy fishing freely from our private pier; the food was excellent; and above all, we felt healed by how thoughtfully attentive all staff were—even anticipating small needs before we asked. This is an Accommodation where you can spend quiet time in a relaxed hideaway-like setting. With wonderful smiles from everyone on staff—and true to its name as a villa—you can enjoy being close to the sea while satisfying your sense of fun as well. A truly high-quality retreat is guaranteed here!

    Excellent hospitality

    This was our second stay at AmaharA, and the hospitality was even better than last time. The staff’s attire and grooming, choice of words, and overall manner were excellent; even the non-Japanese staff spoke Japanese so naturally that it felt completely seamless. It seems to be the result of both personal effort and thorough training. I also found it wonderful that I never sensed any behind-the-scenes chatter among staff or any peak-time rush—something that can feel unpleasant for guests these days regardless of price. Whether it was specifically coached or not, we enjoyed a truly comfortable stay. As for dining, everything was as delicious as on our previous visit. We requested baby food for our grandchild, and it was thoughtfully prepared rather than pre-made, which we greatly appreciated. After the meal, coffee wasn’t left behind in a server; instead, it was brought fresh each time according to each person’s preference. It’s a small detail, but it genuinely impressed me. When I mentioned in advance that my mother had her 88th birthday (Beiju), they accommodated us as much as possible; we are grateful, and my mother was very happy. We have not yet stayed at any other Hotel New Awaji properties besides AmaharA, but we are interested in trying the main Hotel New Awaji as well (to experience how their hospitality and Facility differ). Depending on budget, there are many expensive hotels these days that do not live up to their price. AmaharA is an Accommodation that will stay in my memory. We would definitely like to return again.

    I’ve stayed here many times! The Onsen, meals, and guest room are always very satisfying. I usually come with my husband, but this time I stayed with my daughter, who had been wanting to visit. She seemed very satisfied as well. We’ll be back again!

    A Wonderful Accommodation That Won’t Disappoint

    This is my favorite Accommodation on Awaji Island, so I have stayed here many times, though recently I also stayed at Villa Rakuen and Yumesenkei. It had been a while since my last stay at AmaharA, but everything was just as wonderful as always: the courteous and refined service (the staff are truly excellent), a delicious dinner exactly as expected, an in-room open-air bath spacious enough for about three people, and the breakfast I had been looking forward to most—everything was outstanding. At this time of year at AmaharA, our family’s highlight of the breakfast buffet is the dried conger eel. The first time I grilled and ate it, I was amazed by its springy texture and flavor. This time, I was also impressed by the French toast with sake lees chocolate. I also love the pickled onions. The Ayuhara rice cooked in a clay pot is glossy and fluffy—consistently delicious every time. I especially like the breakfast buffet because it never requires waiting when there aren’t many guests staying, and the layout is thoughtfully arranged. No matter how many times we visit, it never gets old—an appealing Accommodation that always makes me want to return.

    A Sisters’ Trip

    My sister and her husband had stayed here before and loved it, so this time the two of us sisters stayed for a trip together. Dinner was wonderful from the appetizers to the very last course, and we were truly impressed. The Onsen bath in the Room was available anytime, and soaking while looking out at the sea was amazing. We stayed in a suite Room, which was spacious and very comfortable. We would love to stay again to celebrate a special occasion.

    I stayed at a New Awaji Group property!

    I finally stayed at Yumesenkei Bessou Amahara after being unable to get a Reservation before! The calm atmosphere made it truly relaxing. The meals and the Onsen were, as expected, absolutely wonderful. I’d love to visit again.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I went on an Onsen trip with my elderly mother. At the restaurant, they kindly provided a cushion for my mother's back and even accommodated our request to cut the food into smaller pieces, which we greatly appreciated. The meals included many unique flavors that we don't usually have at home, and we thoroughly enjoyed them. The Onsen in our room was also delightful as they adjusted the temperature over the phone to make it just right for us. However, I did notice some dirt around the frame of the sliding door leading to the bathroom; when I wiped it with tissue, black dirt came off. The dust on the audio equipment also caught my attention a little—I hope this can be checked during cleaning in the future. Other than that, everything was comfortable overall, and we had a relaxing stay. All staff members were polite and friendly, making our experience pleasant. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity. Thank you very much!

    It was excellent.

    We visited to celebrate my partner's birthday. Unfortunately, I suddenly felt unwell on the day and couldn't fully enjoy the meal we had been looking forward to. However, the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, bringing ice packs and water while showing genuine concern for my condition. Thanks to their thoughtful care, I felt more at ease and was able to spend our time there comfortably. I truly appreciated their kindness. Their warmth left a lasting impression on me. This was our second visit, and we definitely look forward to coming back again!

    I had a very relaxing stay.

    The details, such as the flowers and decorations, showed thoughtful care. Having an open-air bath in the room was amazing, allowing us to enjoy a bath while gazing at the ocean anytime. The meals were delightful with creative touches, especially since we can't eat large portions as we get older. Above all, the warm hospitality of the staff made our stay relaxing. We have made a reservation for our next visit. This time, we chose a twin room instead of a larger one for just the two of us—what do you think?

    Birthday

    I stayed here for two consecutive years, starting with my friend's birthday last year when we enjoyed fugu. The view from the room's private bath was stunning, and the meals were delicious. This year, I also took advantage of the complimentary drinks in the lobby after dinner. Despite being the autumn foliage season with many guests, I was able to relax comfortably in my room. I would love to stay here again.

    First Stay at Hotel New Awaji

    This was my first time staying at Hotel New Awaji Tenhara. Although I was initially confused by the various names of Hotel New Awaji, staying here helped me understand a bit more. The room with a private open-air bath was great as I could bathe anytime, and the view was lovely, especially on a sunny day. The large public bath at Yumesenkei had an excellent view, and the "red water" bath felt smooth and relaxing. However, Tanada no Yu on the Hotel New Awaji side felt like an amusement park—children were swimming around, making it lively but not ideal for relaxing quietly. The service during check-in and check-out was excellent; I felt very welcomed and appreciated. However, during dinner service, the staff member serving us seemed to be a foreigner whose explanations were hard to understand due to unclear Japanese. We found ourselves guessing what each dish might be while eating. While it's common nowadays for hotels to have international staff members serving guests, it would help if they spoke clearer Japanese or louder so we could understand better—this part was disappointing. As for the room itself—it felt just okay for its price range but not particularly impressive given that this accommodation costs over 100,000 yen per night in some cases. Many accommodations in this price range now offer high-end amenities like ReFa hair dryers; unfortunately, this wasn't the case here which left me slightly disappointed. Additionally: The bed wasn’t particularly comfortable either; there weren’t even USB charging ports by the bedside—a feature that’s quite standard these days. Oh—and one more thing: The open-air baths at Yumesenkei or in-room baths are visible from outside! It seems possible that people fishing nearby or boats entering the port—or even guests in certain areas of Hotel New Awaji (like smoking rooms or café spaces)—could see them! That said—the Onsen experience itself was enjoyable overall! Also appreciated having free drinks available near reception which added satisfaction points too. In conclusion though—I feel paying over 100k yen is slightly overpriced compared with what’s offered here; somewhere between 50k–80k yen feels more reasonable instead!

    The open-air bath was excellent.

    We stayed at Amahara to celebrate my father's 77th birthday. The open-air bath in the room was absolutely amazing. Dinner was served in a private room, allowing us to enjoy quality family time, which was wonderful. The food was delicious as well. Although breakfast had fewer options, it was still tasty. It would have been even better if there were omelets available. The only downside was that since we were a group of five, two used beds while three used futons, and the futons were too thin and uncomfortable to sleep on. Other than that, the staff were very kind and attentive, which made our stay excellent overall.
