    Fireworks Festival

    Both the in-room meals and the Onsen enjoyed while gazing out at the sea felt truly extraordinary. We could also watch the fireworks festival from the Room window.

    Highly satisfied.

    From arrival to departure, the service was truly pleasant. The meals were delicious, and the Room had an ocean view! Unfortunately it was cloudy so we couldn’t see the sunset, but if it had been clear, I’m sure we would have enjoyed a beautiful sunset from the Room. The building is a bit old, but it felt clean and didn’t bother me. I’d love to come back and try again for the sunset. Thank you very much.

    A Relaxing and Rejuvenating Dining, Hot Spring, and Wellness Experience

    About a 15-minute walk from the Toi ferry terminal. A beautiful, charming building along the coast. I stayed in a Room on the 3rd floor of this 7-story property and thoroughly enjoyed in-Room breakfast and dinner, the private scenic bath in the guest Room, and the large public bath. The water was very hot; I used it as is in the public bath, and added water to cool it slightly in the in-Room bath. Even in midsummer heat, I was able to cool off while soaking slowly, spending about two hours in total. The view from the bath overlooks the coast, with mountains, a river, and even the road visible—well balanced—and there is a horizontal sliding window that can be opened to any width you like. Since it is set one step higher than inside the guest Room, you can fully open it not only during meals but also while bathing; if you soak into the deep tub, you can enjoy the scenery even with it wide open. Since we were staying anyway, choosing a meal course with abalone and spiny lobster was absolutely the right decision. Unexpected touches—such as greetings from the young proprietress at dinner and a gift of a houseplant at departure—were also happily received.

    Very relaxing.

    The vast ocean stretched out directly in front of us through the large windows, and we were able to relax very comfortably in nature. The young proprietress and all the staff welcomed us with heartfelt hospitality, providing service that was perfectly attentive without being intrusive, which left us feeling truly warm. The meals were also very delicious; there was a bit more than we could eat, but we finished everything. The bath was an Onsen that warmed us thoroughly. This was a wonderful Ryokan that preserves the spirit of traditional Japanese hospitality, and we would definitely like to stay again.

    Thank you very much for your hospitality the other day. We truly appreciate your thoughtful attention in our Japanese-style Room. We also thoroughly enjoyed the carefully prepared dinner and were able to fully relax in the silky-smooth Onsen.     It became an unforgettable memory.

    We chose Suishotei because we were looking for Accommodation near Nishi-Izu that offers in-room dining and allows smoking in the Room. Although we arrived a little later than planned, from check-in to check-out the warm, heartfelt hospitality of the young proprietress, our attendant, and all the staff made us feel we had stayed at a truly wonderful Accommodation. At mealtimes, our attendant explained everything—from the ingredients to how best to enjoy each dish. We were amazed by the number of courses, and even more impressed that she could describe them all so clearly. The chef’s flavors and sense of style were outstanding. The timing of each dish was perfect as well, and we both finished everything. We were genuinely surprised that you even prepared a late-night snack after dinner. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great with a typhoon approaching, but our attendant told us that the sunset from the panoramic bath is at its best from autumn through winter. We will be celebrating our golden wedding anniversary next year, so next time we would love to visit with our whole family. P.S. My wife says she would like to request the same attendant again next time—please stay well until then.

    One-night getaway for couples

    The large in-room bath was very comfortable, and the Onsen water was excellent—my skin felt smooth and refreshed. Both dinner and breakfast offered a wide variety of dishes; everything was delicious, and we were completely satisfied. We also appreciated the staff’s service and the hostess’s thoughtful hospitality.

    Enjoy the stunning sunsets of Nishi-Izu.

    Depending on the weather, the sunset offered an outstanding view. The Accommodation is a bit old, but it has been renovated, and above all, the hospitality from the attendants and other staff was excellent. I would love to visit again someday.

    Memorable dining, Onsen, and warm hospitality

    I’ve visited Toi many times, but this was my first stay at Suishotei. As soon as we arrived, the young proprietress and the staff welcomed us with bright, energetic smiles, which made me even more excited for the stay. We chose the Room called “Sasayaki” on the third floor. The large round hinoki semi-open-air bath was especially impressive. The Room had floor chairs, but since I wanted to relax more comfortably, I requested a high chair and they gladly prepared one for me. In addition to yukata and padded jackets, there were also samue loungewear, bathrobes, tabi socks, body towels, and having two bath towels per person was much appreciated. I was surprised by how high-quality the toothbrush set was, and being able to watch BS channels is rare for an Onsen Ryokan in Toi. Plenty of chilled water was provided as well. The welcome sweets and matcha service were wonderful. The in-room Onsen was kept at a perfect temperature, so I could bathe anytime; it warmed me through and left my skin silky smooth—absolutely fantastic. After soaking, opening the window let me enjoy views of Suruga Bay and the town of Toi. This time our attendant was male, but he was cheerful, attentive, and left a great impression. Thank you for all your help. We were also honored by a polite greeting from the young proprietress herself—we even had a lovely conversation that truly moved me. I’ve stayed at many Ryokan before, but this was my first time having the young proprietress come to the Room to greet us. It felt exceptional. What especially stood out were the outstanding quality of both dinner and breakfast. Taste, portion size, presentation, number of dishes—along with service—everything exceeded expectations. A variety of premium ingredients were used thoughtfully throughout in subtle ways that impressed me. Even after checkout we received an adorable houseplant as a gift and they took many photos for us—an unforgettable experience right until the very end. I had seen Reviews saying Suishotei is number one in Toi Onsen—and now I can say it’s not an exaggeration at all. This trip reminded me just how wonderful Toi Onsen is. Thank you very much to everyone on staff for taking such great care of us.

    The bed was narrow a...

    The bed was narrow and uncomfortable. There were few amenities. The Facility was old, and the gap from the photos was significant. It was nice that the in-room bath could be used 24 hours a day. Breakfast was also good with a wide variety of dishes. Dinner also had a wide variety of dishes, but I would have liked the quality to be a bit better. Since we went all the way to Izu, I at least wanted items like simmered golden eye snapper and sashimi to be served.

    This was our second ...

    This was our second stay. My mother is 95 and doesn’t like fish (even though it’s by the sea), but they kindly changed her meal to meat even on the day. The staff listened to her and kept her company. She was very happy and said, “Let’s come again!”

    Highly Satisfied

    Thank you for staying with us during the New Year holidays from 2025. While the building and facilities may show some age, they were well-maintained and clean, which made for a satisfying stay. The meals were plentiful to the point of being more than we could finish, and both breakfast and dinner were delicious and fulfilling. The private open-air bath in the room provided a memorable experience as we enjoyed two days of sunsets from this wonderful location. Additionally, the kindness and warmth we felt through our interactions with the staff, including the young proprietress, made our two-day stay very pleasant. My family mentioned that when we visit Nishi-Izu again, we would love to return to Suishotei as repeat guests. Thank you so much for everything this time!

    A Ryokan You'll Want to Visit Again

    The staff, including the hostess, are very kind. The bath is clean and provides a very pleasant experience. The meals are delicious and carefully prepared, though for elderly guests, the portions might be slightly large. Perhaps reducing a few dishes and increasing the amount of sashimi could be an option. In any case, I had a very comfortable stay. Thank you! Highly recommended Ryokan.

    Delicious meals to delight both your eyes and taste buds.

    I visit Izu every year during this season, but this was my first time staying here. The large bath in the Room is filled with natural hot spring water, leaving my skin warm and smooth. While standing in the tub might make you visible from outside, sitting down ensures privacy, which was great. For in-room dining, we enjoyed abalone dancing on the grill and handmade dishes by the young hostess—delicious meals that delighted both our eyes and taste buds. The late-night rice balls were so soft and chewy that I finished them even though I was full (laughs). We had a relaxing time as a couple. Thank you for taking photos for us; they became wonderful memories!

    Favorite Accommodation

    This was my fourth stay. Thank you to all the staff for your warm hospitality as always. The meals were delicious and satisfying until the very end, just like every time. The large public bath and the room's private bath were clean, making each stay very comfortable. I especially love the open-air bath with its refreshing breeze. The staff in charge of our room was cheerful, energetic, and friendly, providing excellent service. Bathrobes were provided in the room, which was a thoughtful touch after warming up in the Onsen—such a wonderful service! There’s nothing to complain about; however, if I may suggest something, having makeup remover among the amenities would be helpful. Also, updating shampoo and conditioner to stylish options that match your accommodation's image could enhance the experience further—especially ones with pleasant fragrances from a female perspective would be delightful. Out of all accommodations I've stayed at, this is my favorite one by far! Thank you to the young proprietress for greeting us personally every time as well. I look forward to staying here again!

    We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my birthday. The room with a private open-air bath allowed us to relax at our own pace. The spacious open-air bath was amazing, especially while enjoying the onsen as we watched the sunset over the horizon. Both the meals and hospitality were impeccable. The young proprietress personally greeted us, which made it even more special. We will cherish the souvenir we received upon departure. Hoping for another chance to visit someday!

    Safe for families with babies

    I stayed with my 8-month-old baby and mother. It was a trip to celebrate my mother's milestone birthday, and she was very happy. The Room had a beautiful bath visible as soon as we entered, which was impressive. The bath was larger than expected. Our Room seemed to be above the lobby, so we didn’t have to worry about noise and could let the baby crawl around freely. The desk, ceiling, meals, and tableware were all stylish and lovely. The bath was entirely wooden, separated from the outside by shoji windows with handles; when closed, it kept the Room warm even for the baby—everything was well thought out. We could open it as we liked to enjoy beautiful views both at night and in the morning. The staff provided friendly service that made us feel at ease. The hostess also offered various services for our baby, making him very happy too. The meals were delicious as well! After driving all this way here, I felt relaxed and rejuvenated before heading back home. It was my first time visiting Toi Hot Springs (Toi), but it’s such a wonderful place that I’d love to explore more leisurely next time!

    Great value with a semi-open-air Onsen bath!

    This accommodation offers excellent value for money, with a semi-open-air bath included at just over 20,000 yen per person. It’s perfect for those who want a secluded stay without leaving the room. Both dinner and breakfast are served in the room, and while the meals are standard, they are thoughtfully prepared and satisfying in quantity. For cost efficiency, it’s better to drink bottled beer (medium-sized) from the room's refrigerator rather than draft beer—unless you prefer draft beer. One downside is that the room was not non-smoking. I didn’t pay attention to smoking preferences when completing the reservation, but it seems this hotel allows smoking in rooms. If non-smoking rooms are available, I would recommend choosing one instead. The lingering smell of cigarettes might bother some guests, so be sure to check carefully when making your reservation. Other than that issue, most guests will likely find this accommodation highly satisfactory!

    We stayed for one night and two days in a room with an open-air Onsen bath, and it was a wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted and guided, making us feel immediately that choosing this accommodation was the right decision. We used the open-air Onsen in our room multiple times, and it was always at a perfectly comfortable temperature. While the building had an older charm, the room was impeccably clean down to every corner. The meals focused on fish and vegetables, and everything we ate was absolutely delicious! As we enjoy drinking alcohol during meals, we thought it might be nice if the meal service could be paced a bit slower; however, with so many dishes served, adjusting to our pace might have been impossible (laughs). The breakfast was so plentiful that we felt full until lunchtime—completely satisfying! The staff kindly took photos of us at various moments during our stay, leaving my phone filled with pictures of ourselves (laughs). To top it off, they even gave us a potted plant as a parting gift—such incredible hospitality! We were so satisfied that during our stay itself my husband and I kept saying how much we'd love to come back here again. As avid travelers who love Onsen trips every month or so, this accommodation has become one of my absolute favorites—competing for first or second place in my personal ranking of best accommodations ever!

    Hospitality Accommodation

    We stayed for one night to celebrate his birthday. It became an unforgettable and wonderful memory. The staff in charge of our room was very kind, and their hospitality was exceptional. The view from the room was so breathtaking that we wanted to see it every day. We barely turned on the TV or used our smartphones, yet we were completely satisfied with this accommodation. The slow-paced time here healed us deeply from daily fatigue. The bath was absolutely amazing, and even though he usually doesn't enjoy long baths, he took his time soaking in it. Our skin felt smooth, and the onsen experience was incredibly relaxing. We heard about a nearby footbath during our stay, and while taking a walk, we stumbled upon it by chance! Sitting there while gazing at the sea and starry night sky brought unexpected joy—it felt like a delightful surprise that made us even happier. This was our first visit to this area of Izu, but we truly want to come back again someday. I had read reviews mentioning how delicious the dishes prepared by the young proprietress were, so I secretly looked forward to trying them—and they exceeded expectations! On our way home, we couldn’t stop talking about how delicious everything was—especially the yukhoe (Korean-style raw beef). Every meal—dinner, late-night snack, breakfast—was crafted with care for each ingredient and brought happiness both to our taste buds and hearts. One regret is not being able to be in our room during sunset hours; next time we'll plan an earlier arrival so as not to miss it. Thank you for providing such a blissful experience!

    First Time in Toi

    The ryokan itself is a bit old, but both the room and the interior were kept very clean, and the staff provided excellent service, making our stay pleasant throughout. We stayed in the room called "Happiness Time." Upon entering the room, we were served a variety of tea snacks, and the handmade milk pudding by the head chef was especially delicious. The room's bath was very spacious with a diameter of 180 cm, offering a stunning ocean view through the window. The bath was filled with natural hot spring water, and we enjoyed it multiple times. It was incredibly relaxing. The meals were also very delicious, and the carefully prepared dashi (soup stock) was particularly impressive. We were extremely satisfied with our stay.     Thank you for the meal.

    I wanted to enjoy rice with sashimi and other dishes, so I asked if it was possible to serve the rice earlier. They kindly served plain white rice first, followed by corn rice and red miso soup at the end of the course. Everything was incredibly delicious, and having rice with luxurious sashimi was absolutely perfect. I was also delighted that they brought plenty of rice without me needing to ask for refills. The late-night onigiri and meals enjoyed in the Room were relaxing as well. Traditional Japanese hospitality at Ryokans is becoming rare, but this place truly represents a classic Japanese Ryokan experience.

    We had a wonderful and enjoyable stay with the whole family.

    We visited as a family of three with our 1.5-year-old son. When we did fireworks by the seaside at night, the staff kindly lent us a water bucket and showed great concern when our son got a minor burn, even providing us with a cooling patch. All the staff were very friendly, had wonderful smiles, and made our stay very pleasant. The in-room dining for both breakfast and dinner was delicious, and the staff who served us were very kind to our son, making it an enjoyable experience. The young hostess's special dish of "aji no namero" was incredibly tasty. The semi-open-air bath in the room was indeed an Onsen, well-maintained and comfortable to use. Although it was a bit far from Tokyo, we were extremely satisfied with our stay. Thank you to all the staff for providing such a wonderful time!
