    Stay with Your Dog

    Thank you very much—I’m truly grateful for such a wonderful trip experience. I had errands in Hita City (where record-high temperatures have been continuing), so I stayed overnight in Yufuin as well. It was intensely hot that day too، but from evening through night Yufuin felt like another world—so cool that air conditioning didn’t seem necessary. While winters are certainly very cold، I never expected Yufuin to be this cool in summer، so it turned out to be a happy surprise. The Onsen temperature was perfect—even in summer—for soaking slowly，and all my fatigue disappeared. In the morning，with Mt．Yufu right ahead of me，surrounded by birdsong，I enjoyed an unhurried soak. It was amazingly cool even then. As described，the shower does take a little time before hot water comes out. If set to mist mode，it stays cold. There are two private family baths، but one was under adjustment and unavailable، so I deducted one star. In-room drinks were available freely. Daifuku were prepared according to our party size؛ since they were cream-based، those who don’t like creamy sweets didn’t eat them. A more classic type of sweet might suit everyone better—but I personally enjoyed them. Dinner started with eel shabu-shabu before the main Wagyu steak course. I felt slightly uneasy at first—but it turned out absolutely superb!! It was part of the July menu (Fumizuki)، and I'd love to have it again. The plump texture and deliciousness clearly came from careful preparation. The soup after drawing flavor from the broth became wonderfully rich؛ I asked for refills many times。 They offered zosui (rice porridge)，but we chose to enjoy it as soup instead。 Then beautifully glossy white rice arrived—and turning that into porridge would have been such a waste，so I'm glad we kept them separate。 All other dishes also left my family—usually quite strict with reviews—very satisfied。 We could bring our dog without any hesitation۔ There is also a dog run that's just right for small dogs，and ours looked delighted running around。 Even though we'd stayed years ago ،they remembered that our dog hadn't finished his meal then ،and had eaten half at dinner و half at breakfast—which made us feel reassured۔ Service-wise ،there wasn't even once when something felt off۔ Although our interaction time wasn't long ，they took great care of us۔ Thank you again for everything۔ I hope we can return throughout different seasons۔

    Refresh with Your Large Dog

    This was our second stay. This time, there was a large dog run. With a fountain and varied terrain, our dogs were thrilled from the moment we arrived and again early in the morning, enjoying it as a chance to play in the water. There are very few places where we can bring two large dogs, so we were glad to be able to visit again in such a great season. The Accommodation staff were also very pleasant—nothing to complain about. Thank you very much.

    An Accommodation you’ll want to return to again and again, no matter how many times you stay.

    We always stay here with our family and two dogs. This Accommodation is truly dog-friendly. The food is also delicious. Since the meat dish has been changed to a filet steak, it’s an even bigger plus for us. I believe it used to be a ribeye with a bit more fat, but at our age we prefer quality over quantity, and it was tender and easy to eat. We stayed in the Kara Room. It was excellent overall, but we would appreciate one more chair. With three or four adults, someone ends up without a seat in the living area. When we stayed in the Touou Room, the sofa was spacious and that was nice, but with three adults it’s still hard to fully relax—one person ended up going out onto the balcony. Haha. We will definitely visit again.

    The staff were very ...

    The staff were very attentive, and we had a comfortable stay. The meals were especially delicious, both breakfast and dinner. There was also a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, so guests with any preferences will be satisfied. There is a Shuttle Service within the Facility, which is reassuring for older guests.

    Thank you for your hospitality.

    We stayed here as a thank-you trip for my elderly mother and aunt. Since we had informed them in advance that they were elderly, we were truly impressed by the attentive support from check-in onward. The meals were delicious, beautifully presented, and left us completely satisfied every time. The Room was spacious with wonderful views, and we were able to relax at our leisure, especially with the open-air bath in the Room. Even though we caused some trouble regarding my mother, all the staff responded warmly and courteously whenever needed, for which we are sincerely grateful. This has become one of the Accommodations we would love to visit again.

    A 60th Birthday Celebration for a Friend

    We stayed here to celebrate a friend’s 60th birthday. From the aperitif, we relaxed in the private Onsen bath. Dinner was served in a private dining room. We got carried away taking photos in the red celebratory vest and ended up starting dinner late, but we’re grateful to the staff for accommodating us with warm smiles. The spring-themed dinner was delightful for both the eyes and the palate. It began with Mineoka tofu topped with dashi jelly, followed by plump, tender firefly squid. The clear clam soup featured an auspicious red-and-white “musubi” knot made from carrot and daikon, served in a bowl decorated with cranes and turtles—another lucky motif. The cherry blossom steamed dish came in a vessel adorned with six gourds, and even the red miso soup bowl had “good fortune” maki-e—everything felt celebratory. The filet was so tender it could be eaten with chopsticks, and the truffle wine sauce was outstanding. The rice cooked in an iron pot was glossy and delicious—we were full, yet couldn’t stop eating it. Breakfast offered only wholesome items: fish, meat, vegetables, eggs, tofu—and more. The miso soup with large clams was also excellent. Because the Onsen is open-air, a refreshing breeze made it easy to enjoy again and again. We were able to relax while gazing at Mt. Yufu, making wonderful memories with my friend.

    This Accommodation has everything you need. You will be soothed by the cuisine, the Onsen, the staff, and the Room. Once you stay here, you’ll be hooked. Lucky our dog also felt refreshed. Thank you very much for taking such great care of us.

    Large dogs

    A luxurious accommodation where you can stay with large dogs. The staff are very polite and kind, you can enjoy a bath in the room with a view of Mount Yufu right in front of you, and the meals are always delicious and enjoyable. There is also a newly built spacious dog run, making it truly a valuable place for those traveling with large dogs. I would love to visit again.

    I stayed at the accommodation with my dog. The staff's attentiveness and the delicate flavors of the meals were truly wonderful! Above all, the open-air bath in the morning was absolutely amazing... A private open-air bath first thing in the morning... This was truly exceptional! I had a very relaxing time.

    Held once a year.

    I always choose this place for Onsen trips because I have two dogs. The room is clean, and it's close to Lake Kinrin, which is enjoyable. The rice is truly delicious as always, and it never fails to impress me! This time, however, I noticed that water for my two dogs wasn't prepared during the meal, which was a bit disappointing. It was always provided before, and since it's summer, the dogs get thirsty, so it would be great if water could be prepared for them. I look forward to visiting again next year!

    This time, I booked the popular "Kyara" room as a gift trip for my parents. They both seemed very satisfied. The meals were delicious and visually enjoyable, they said.     It seems you had a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

    I reserved a room with a view of Mount Yufu for my friend. Since the weather was pleasant and the season was perfect, they enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful view of Mount Yufu from the small table on the terrace. They also appreciated the traditional design, mentioning that even its slightly aged features added to its charm. Next time, I would like to stay there myself.

    The finest hospitality and a luxurious Ryokan

    The staff's warm hospitality from check-in to check-out was truly heartwarming. Although it rained on the day of our stay, the thoughtful gestures and kind words made it special even on a rainy day. The private open-air bath in the guest room was a perfect space—always warm, whether for a relaxing soak or just enjoying a foot bath. The meals were prepared with plenty of seasonal ingredients, and every dish was delicious. The timing of serving each dish was impeccable, creating a comfortable dining experience. All five senses were satisfied, making it an unforgettable and special day. I look forward to staying here again!

    It was so relaxing!

    I stayed with my wife. This Ryokan, quietly nestled in a forest away from the city, offered a relaxing and peaceful stay. The dishes made with seasonal ingredients were visually stunning and all delicious. The open-air bath with a view of Mount Yufu provided the ultimate relaxation. There was also a spacious dog run, so next time we plan to bring our dog who stayed home this time!

    The rooms, baths, and facilities were all very lovely, and the staff who provided the shuttle service were courteous and pleasant. Normally, this would be very satisfying, but given the pricing, expectations were slightly higher. While breakfast was very satisfying, the dinner menu, drinks during dinner, service during meals, room amenities, contents of the refrigerator, the age of the bath supplies, and pet amenities left me wondering if they matched the price. I assume this pricing is aimed at foreigners, but given the generally pleasant service, it's a bit disappointing that in the Kanto area, there are higher quality stays that don't have such pricing, so the finer details were a letdown.

    My 85-year-old mother's first trip to Yufuin was amazing!

    It was a very lovely Stays, with high-quality views, Room, meals, and hospitality, all without complaint. My elderly mother was very pleased.     I stay every year.

    I have been bringing my beloved dog with me since before I got married to my husband. This time, my daughter is 2 years old and I think she enjoyed it. Previously, they offered to take pictures before meals or before leaving, but this time they didn't, which was disappointing. Also, there was no guidance to the dining area, so we got lost. The Room, meals, and open-air bath with a view of Mount Yufu (Yufudake) were all very nice, so I hope they improve their service a bit more. I want to visit again next year.

    With your dog

    On the last day of the long weekend, I stayed with my husband and our dogs in a room called Gesshaku. The spacious living room, Japanese-style room, bedroom in the back, and the powder room with separate spaces for the sink and mirror were very convenient. We went to the onsen immediately upon arrival. Having an open-air bath in the room is great because you can enter whenever you like. The towels were fluffy too. Dinner, which we had been looking forward to, started at 6 PM. Since it was a private room, we could bring our dogs to the dining area. This was the main reason we chose Ikutsuten. They also provided chairs and water for the dogs. We took a walk in the garden before the meal, so the dogs were tired and fell asleep on the chairs, allowing us to enjoy our meal at a leisurely pace. Starting with beautiful autumn appetizers, followed by Rineoka tofu, a soup with an irresistible dashi flavor, fragrant grilled dishes, melt-in-your-mouth Oita Wagyu steak, rice cooked in a pot, and pumpkin pudding for dessert, everything was carefully prepared and truly delicious. Even though I thought I couldn't eat so much, I finished everything. The delicious food, onsen, and the kind smiles of the staff truly healed my heart. As it gets colder, I will long for the onsen, and I hope to visit again with our dogs.

    A beloved inn

    We were blessed with good weather and had a beautiful view of Mount Yufu from our room. The autumn menu was also wonderful, and we had a lovely time with the attentive service. We are looking forward to the New Year's cuisine as well.
