It was my first stay in a while, and it was great.

It was my first stay in a while, and this time I booked a Multiple Night Stay. The Grace Suite Room was wonderful—spacious and comfortable. There were some issues at check-in with how our luggage was handled, but overall we were very satisfied. We also enjoyed dinner again at the teppanyaki restaurant “Kokoro,” where the chef who has been taking care of us for nearly 10 years made it a truly enjoyable evening. When we come to Kobe, we will stay with you again. Thank you to all the staff.

    We stayed at La Suit...

We stayed at La Suite again for the first time in a while at the end of summer vacation. The weather was great, and the large jacuzzi felt amazing both in the morning and during the day. Because it was so sunny, it was too hot to spend time on the terrace this time, but that’s just seasonal—I’d love to enjoy drinks on the terrace next time. We also enjoyed a generous breakfast in our Room and took our time finishing everything! It was disappointing that U-NEXT and Netflix weren’t available on the TV, so we couldn’t spend our stay watching movies as planned. Other than that, everything was comfortable and we made wonderful summer vacation memories. Thank you very much.

    We had a relaxing stay.

I’ve stayed here many times, but this time I was disappointed that the Room aroma wasn’t provided at check-in and that the treatment in the shower room was almost empty. I was looking forward to my favorite scent, so I had it delivered later. There is also a late check-out service, which allowed me to relax.

If I have the chance, I would definitely like to stay here again.

    1) The harbor view from the balcony was outstanding, and the balcony was designed for relaxing at a leisurely pace. 2) The room-service Western breakfast was excellent in composition, quality, taste, presentation, and explanation— it truly made us happy. 3) Conveniently located near the shopping street for easy shopping, and “Mosaic” is also very close by—an exceptional location. 4) The parking area is very close underground, and there is little car traffic at the entrance/exit, which felt safe. 5) The view bath was spotless; Port Tower was clearly visible from the bathroom; it was spacious and even had a jacuzzi function—completely satisfying. 6) Service at check-in and check-out was perfect. 7) The room layout was thoughtfully designed and felt very clean with zero stress; plenty of considerate amenities were provided, which we appreciated. 8) Although close to transportation links, the Hotel feels set apart from them; it’s amazingly quiet for central Kobe, and we were able to relax throughout our stay. These are my honest impressions from our stay, and my wife and I have agreed that we would definitely like to return if we have another chance.

    Summer Memories

As we did last year, I stayed here again with my junior high school daughter. The staff’s warm hospitality and the Harborland view from the terrace were truly wonderful. We also had dinner at Teppanyaki Shin. We usually visit for lunch, but as always, the chef and staff were friendly and easy to talk to, and we enjoyed our meal in a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere. Since my birthday was coming up, they even prepared a birthday dessert plate for me. I really appreciated this thoughtful gesture—it made my birthday a very happy one. I would love to stay here again next year on another mother-and-daughter trip.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve stayed—this is my favorite Hotel. The only thing that concerns me is the toilet. At the very least, I’d like the lid to open automatically. It really stands out to me in both restaurants and Hotels, and I think some guests will feel the same way. Aside from that, everything is perfect: the jacuzzi, the great view, and the wonderful service from your staff. If I ever start choosing other Hotels, it would be because of the toilet. I’ll be back again. Thank you.

    Impressive!

The first Hotel in Japan to join Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH). The highest level of comfort! They promptly accommodated a sudden Room change and provided wonderfully courteous service. Thank you very much. The same attendant as last time assisted us again, and everyone was delighted with the consistently excellent service. The Hotel’s atmosphere and the staff are always polite and kind—truly outstanding! We will definitely stay again.

A Hotel You Can Feel at Ease In

I always feel at ease staying here. No matter which staff member assists me, the service is consistently high, and I truly appreciate it. In the service industry, familiarity can be both good and bad, and since the work can become repetitive, it’s easy for things to feel routine—but your service is refreshing, clear, and genuinely considerate. This time as well, I was assisted by someone in training, but it felt completely natural—just as always—which impressed me. Also, the Room and everything else were comfortable as usual, and I felt truly refreshed. I apologize if this sounds presumptuous, but these are my honest feelings. My wife and I are very grateful. Thank you very much.

It was a memorable wedding anniversary.

I have stayed here alone a couple of times, and this time I stayed with my husband. Before check-in, we parked the car and walked to Mosaic for lunch. We relaxed there until 3:00 p.m., then headed to the Hotel. To celebrate our wedding anniversary, you prepared flowers and sweets in our Room, which truly moved us. The staff also congratulated us—thank you very much. We used the free spa available for a limited time and had a wonderful time chatting with the esthetician. With an IKYU benefit coupon worth 2,000 yen, we ordered pizza via room service. It was piping hot and delicious. The breakfast we looked forward to was also excellent. My husband said, “Everything is delicious,” and he was very satisfied. You were so kind even at check-out—I’m sorry for any trouble. Thank you very much. We would love to visit again to make more memories.

    Wonderful Hotel

This Hotel has an excellent location, and the staff were wonderful. The Room was lovely, and the view from the terrace was amazing. However, while we were talking on the terrace and enjoying the view, we could smell cigarette smoke. We went back into the Room right away and checked, and it said that smoking is not allowed indoors and that guests should smoke on the terrace. Because guests in nearby Rooms smoked on their terraces repeatedly, we could hardly use our terrace and ended up watching TV in the Room. We had been looking forward to enjoying the night view from the terrace, so it was disappointing to feel like “If we’re just watching TV in the Room, it’s no different from being at home.” Even though it’s outdoors, the smell carries to other Rooms. This was our only major disappointment. For breakfast, we could choose either Japanese or Western style. Both were luxurious and delicious. They also provided a bag for taking bread to go, so we could bring some back as a souvenir. The music playing in the Room was very nice. I also noticed they were selling CDs at reception.

It was more moving last time.

As always, it was gorgeous, and the Room jacuzzi was wonderful. However, last time I stayed, I was happy that staff called me by name several times, but this time they did not. The spa staff were very pleasant. Also, Hassan, who prepared breakfast in my Room, was cheerful and very kind—I would like to request him again if I stay next time. In the end, a Hotel really depends on the people who work there.

    Overall, we were very satisfied.

This is my fourth stay. As always, the view from La Suite is amazing. The Room was also wonderful, and I felt truly relaxed. However, one thing I noticed was an unpleasant odor in the toilet. If that could be improved, it would be a perfect 10 out of 10.

Used for our 25th wedding anniversary.

This was a Hotel I’d wanted to stay at for a long time. We visited to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary, and it was even better than we imagined. Since we chose the Anniversary Plan, we were truly satisfied. Thank you to all the staff for their wonderful hospitality—we would love to stay again.

    It was a relaxing time.

The staff were very courteous and attentive. The women-only bath was also calm and relaxing. The amenities were well stocked. I was able to spend a soothing, restorative time with my daughter.

    Unfortunately.

Although I have stayed here many times, it felt like the sense of luxury has faded and, including the staff, it now feels like an ordinary Hotel. At check-in, the amenities used to be explained one by one, with the actual items shown so I could choose; this time I was only shown a file. Having guests make their own breakfast Reservation feels like a city Hotel. I don’t think it’s right to treat it as normal to make guests do the work themselves. I came to relax—why should I be operating my own smartphone? What is the front desk for? You’re taking away guests’ time and effort. You could ask at check-in, or say, “You can decide later in your Room at your leisure.” Dinner was very delicious, and both the chef and restaurant staff were attentive—I was very satisfied. I would definitely like to go again for dinner. Breakfast was disappointing; there used to be more kinds of jam and bread you could toast. The pumpkin soup was watery. After checkout, when I went to buy souvenir sweets, perhaps because it was lunchtime, the staff response was poor. When I told a young male staff member that I wasn’t dining but purchasing items, he looked at me as if to say “So you’re not eating?” I was shocked—can’t you even say “Thank you” with a smile? When I asked whether shipping was possible, he couldn’t answer immediately and handed me off to a young female staff member. Her explanation was unclear and inexperienced; time kept passing. I told them that I had plans and needed to hurry, but nothing improved. She left her station midway to check shipping fees; afterward a middle-aged male staff member came over but did not take over—perhaps because he was training her or because she didn’t tell him that I was in a hurry. She continued while confirming how to fill out the shipping form with him beside her; finally I said directly to him: “I’ve told you many times that I'm in a hurry. If you're experienced, please handle this.” Only then did he take over. Since they were already not handling things smoothly from the moment they went to confirm shipping fees, as professional hotel staff they should have switched promptly when needed. If there aren’t enough staff available during lunch hours, why not state that takeout purchases are not accepted during certain hours? Some Hotels actually ask guests in advance (for example at checkout) by saying: “We’ll hand it over then—please choose in your Room beforehand.” If staffing is limited or inexperienced, measures should be taken accordingly. As a result, I ended up late for my next appointment—it was awful. If you call yourselves “luxury,” isn’t what matters how much extra value you can provide beyond standard hospitality? Aside from dinner, it was disappointing that I couldn’t experience the same sense of luxury as before or service that felt truly professional."""

    Wonderful Hotel

My daughter and I stayed here on a mother–daughter trip. She suggested we spend my birthday relaxing at the Hotel, and since my daughter is pregnant, our priorities were a Room with a bathtub where she could soak comfortably (rather than using the Onsen/public bath), delicious meals we could enjoy in the Room, sightseeing spots within an easy walking distance, and beautiful views. This Hotel was a perfect match. When we entered the Room, we were surprised by how spacious it was. It felt different from what I had seen on the Reservation site—I even wondered if they had upgraded us. On the center table, there was a single rose in a vase, an adorable pink rose wrapped as a birthday gift for me, and a dessert birthday plate. We truly appreciated the Hotel’s surprise—thank you very much. The large window-side jacuzzi was wonderful, and I could even watch TV while soaking—it felt so luxurious. For room-service breakfast, I chose Japanese-style while my daughter had Western-style. The Western set came with seven kinds of bread, and they even provided bags to take leftovers home—such thoughtful hospitality. The Japanese set included many small side dishes, all of which were delicious. Nankinmachi and Harborland were nearby as well, so we enjoyed sightseeing too. At checkout, a staff member said “Happy Birthday,” which made me feel once again what a lovely Hotel this is until the very end. It’s a Hotel I would definitely like to stay at again.

It was a truly wonderful experience.

There was nothing to complain about. From the moment I left my luggage, the staff were wonderfully warm and welcoming. The same person assisted me at check-out as well, and I was delighted when they addressed me by name. I immediately made another Reservation for July, and this time I’m looking forward to a Plan that includes dinner. The spa was very relaxing, and I used it twice during my stay. However, the afternoon tea felt a bit too sweet overall, and for us seniors the portions were slightly too large. It would have been nice to have some less-sweet options such as jelly or pudding, or some sandwiches. That said, we truly had a wonderful time. This Hotel stay was unlike anything we’ve experienced before—absolutely outstanding. Thank you very much.

    This is my second stay.

It was very comfortable. The jacuzzi and the view were amazing. I was able to relax. The service was also excellent. Every time we visit Kobe mainly for the food. We have already made a Reservation at this Hotel again in August. Nothing to complain about. We look forward to staying with you again.

    A Trip to Kobe

I’d heard it was an amazingly wonderful Hotel, so I was really looking forward to it! It truly was an incredibly lovely Hotel. The Room and the view from the Room’s balcony were breathtaking—perfect for spending a whole day relaxing and unwinding in the Room. If I had to be picky, I’m not fond of the scent of the bath salts, so it would have been nice to be able to choose. Also, I received a gift amenity set, but it was the same as what was already in the guest Room, so I would have appreciated being told that in advance. For breakfast I debated for a long time and chose the Japanese set—and that was absolutely the right choice! Everything was delicious. This is definitely a Hotel I want to stay at again!

Disappointing, especially since I had high expectations.

I’d always dreamed of staying here, so I treated myself for my birthday. We stayed in a Room with a view bath and breakfast included. From the entrance to the lobby, you pass a lovely lounge and fountains, which really builds anticipation. Check-in was smooth, but the staff didn’t feel very friendly. At check-in, as a complimentary service, women receive one skincare amenity each; I could choose one from about three different sets. They also told me there is a women-only spa that I could use. However, since I stayed with my husband, he couldn’t use either benefit. They repeatedly emphasized “women only” in front of him, which honestly made me feel sad. These days men commonly do skincare too, and since the spa is for women only, my husband would have no choice but to wait in the Room while I used it. It might be perfect for a girls’ trip where you can enjoy everything to the fullest, but isn’t this Hotel mainly targeting couples? Since it was a view-bath Room anyway, I told my husband maybe I’d just stay in the Room with him—but he encouraged me to go since we were there. I felt bad about it, but in the end I took him up on it and enjoyed myself. The Room was very clean and spacious. Since it was my birthday, they also provided sweets and roses as a special touch, which made me happy. That said, there was a notice by the view bath saying “Please lower the blinds when bathing.” I understand there are people around at night at Kobe Port City area (Harborland), but I assumed it would be designed so you couldn’t be seen from outside and that you could enjoy bath time while looking at Kobe’s night view. If you have to lower the blinds during bathing… what’s the point of having a view bath? Another reason I wanted to stay here was for breakfast via room service. It’s advertised as “the best in Japan” or even “the best in the world,” so my expectations were high—but honestly this also left me unsure… I did love being able to eat lots of Lupin bread (Le Pain de Lupin). However: first of all there was too much salad—and since it was mostly leafy greens it was hard to eat; it took me about 20 minutes just to finish it all. The soup and coffee/tea hot water came in silver serving ware (metal), so they cooled down while we were eating salad first. I wanted hot tea after finishing breakfast, so that was disappointing—some places bring hot water in an insulated pot instead… The ham and scrambled eggs were neither good nor bad; these days many Hotels put real effort into breakfast offerings anyway, so I think there are places with better value for money overall than this one here. Overall my expectations were high going in—so unfortunately it felt somewhat disappointing."""

It turned out to be the best anniversary ever.

We stayed here to celebrate my partner’s birthday. This trip was very special to us, and when I called in advance to ask for advice, the male staff member who assisted us listened very carefully and courteously. Rather than simply explaining the rules and conditions, he responded with genuine consideration for how we hoped to spend our time, which left a lasting impression on me. On the day of our stay, everything exceeded our expectations—the beautiful night view of Kobe from our Room, the food, and the calm atmosphere throughout the Facility. Above all, we were most touched by the warm hospitality of all the staff. Even after returning home and looking back on this stay together, what we talked about first was not only the Accommodation or the view, but how truly kind and welcoming everyone was. I’m sorry I don’t know his name, but I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the male staff member who spoke with us over the phone. Thanks to him, my partner’s birthday became a wonderful memory we will never forget. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I was able to relax and unwind.

I had been interested in this highly rated Hotel for some time, and I stayed here alone on a weekday. From the terrace of my Room on the 6th floor, I could see the Boat Tower right in front of me. The spacious Room, the lovely chandelier, and the large view bath—everything was wonderful and truly relaxing. Thank you very much.

    Birthday Stay

We enjoyed a wonderful birthday stay this time. Thank you for setting up a message plate and flowers in the Room. It made for a lovely birthday. La Suite’s greatest strength is the one-of-a-kind view of the port city of Kobe, which can be enjoyed from the balcony and bathroom. The bath time you can experience only here feels like a special moment where a year’s fatigue is washed away all at once... As always, everything was impeccably clean, and we had a very comfortable stay. One small thing we noticed was that some furnishings, such as the sofa, are starting to show signs of wear. Thank you for the delicious breakfast. We will be back again, and we look forward to seeing you then. Thank you to all the staff for your thoughtful hospitality.

Great location and courteous service. This was my third stay.

We really like this Hotel, and this was our third stay as a couple traveling from Tokyo. We stayed for four nights. As always, the location is excellent, and the staff were very courteous, so we were able to relax. Overall, we were satisfied with breakfast, but the miso soup did not suit our taste. The grilled fish was also a bit tough and not to our liking. Aside from meals, it was disappointing that the Wi-Fi authentication frequently disconnected, and when it did, it was difficult to bring up the login page again, which felt stressful. Other than that, we were very satisfied. Since we live in Tokyo it may be difficult to visit often, but we would like to stay here again.

In our experience, foreign staff tend to make more mistakes.

The breakfast was delivered by a foreign staff member, but there was clearly only one plate of butter and jam—was this supposed to be for two people? I honestly felt that one had been forgotten or taken. I had a similar experience at the Ritz in Kyoto, where there were many foreign staff: there was only one body towel in the Room, and they didn’t bring refills of bread at breakfast. Near the end of breakfast, a Japanese staff member kindly offered to let me take some with me (including as takeaway), but I declined. It can’t be helped, but as the proportion of foreign workers in the service industry increases, service quality is declining.

An elegant, glamorous moment of happiness!

This was my first stay in a year and a half. The beautiful scenery unique to the port city of Kobe, which you can enjoy from this Hotel, is truly wonderful. Simply gazing at the view from the Room without doing anything in particular feels cleansing and refreshing. I’m also always comforted by the warm hospitality of every staff member I meet. From the moment they handled my check-in, I was reminded once again that this Hotel is simply the best! Even when I made a small request at check-in, they immediately responded with “Of course!” and a smile, providing thoughtful, attentive service that lifted my spirits right away. The staff embody both the elegance and dignity of a small luxury Hotel while never feeling formal or stiff. Their gentle warmth makes it easy to relax anywhere in the building. That day, I also visited Le Coeur, the French restaurant at the back of the lobby, for lunch. In an elegant setting, their dishes—carefully selected for seasonality and provenance—were outstanding. The wines chosen by their sommeliers were also a delight to enjoy without hesitation. It’s a highly recommended restaurant where you can spend a blissful time found only here. The Deluxe Double corner Room offers spectacular views: to the east, Port Tower appears dramatically close, and relaxing on the sofa while watching its illumination after dusk is breathtakingly beautiful. Facing south, you can see Mosaic and cruise ships coming in and out of the harbor. With views from two sides of the Room, you truly get an indulgent panorama of Kobe all to yourself. Among La Suite’s Rooms, this one feels especially gorgeous. The only drawback is that there are only a limited number of Deluxe Double Rooms—and they’re very popular—so it can be difficult to secure a Reservation. However, if you book several months in advance it’s relatively easier to reserve one, so planning early is highly recommended. As I’ve gotten older year by year without even noticing it myself, my way of enjoying Kobe has changed as well. Rather than sightseeing actively around town, spending graceful, unhurried time at this beloved Hotel has become my happiest way to experience Kobe now.
