The meals are excellent.
Both dinner and breakfast used excellent ingredients and were well seasoned, so I was very satisfied. Unfortunately, I arrived a little early that day, but the door was locked and I couldn’t enter. On top of that, when I tried to contact the property, it went to a callback system and I couldn’t speak with anyone right away, which surprised me. I believe there is room for improvement.

Minamiaizu is cool and comfortable in summer.
This is our annual one-night trip combined with visiting a family grave in Fukushima. This year, we stayed at “Toryukan” in Minamiaizu. Unfortunately it rained, but the cool air of Minamiaizu was a real relief from the intense heat in Chiba, and we were able to truly relax. This time we stayed in a Room with a private bath. It was so spacious that it almost felt too big for just two of us (laugh). Surrounded by deep greenery, we felt refreshed by nature’s energy. The Onsen is a high-quality simple alkaline spring that left our skin smooth and silky. Above all, the meals were truly delicious—flavor, presentation, tableware—calling it gourmet cuisine would not be an exaggeration. We were very satisfied. There was a lounge area just outside the bath area…we would have been happy if there had been some drinks available there.

The meals are especially outstanding.
The wash area has a retro feel, but it is clean, and the Japanese-style three-way mirror and small desk give it the character of a long-established Ryokan. In addition to floor chairs, there were also comfortable cushions, showing thoughtful attention to relaxing in a tatami Room. Since we chose a Room along the gorge, we spent time simply gazing at the rocks and river below or lounging on the tatami. The Onsen was of course wonderful, but above all, the meals were outstanding. The dashi broth was truly delicious, and with every bite I felt glad we came here. Every dish was carefully crafted, and I was impressed by combinations I had never tasted before. The staff’s hospitality was attentive as well, making our stay very comfortable.

We were able to relax and take it easy. We were welcomed with warm smiles, and you kindly let us take our time without rushing us until we left. Thank you for your thoughtful consideration for elderly guests—you arranged a Room with the shortest walking distance, and we truly appreciated having chairs prepared in the Room. The meals did not seem to include any pre-made items; each dish was carefully prepared, the portions were just right, and everything was delicious. The refined tableware matched the food beautifully, making it even more enjoyable. We would love to visit again—thank you very much.

We had the best experience.
We stayed here to coincide with the Ouchi-juku Snow Festival held on Sat, Feb 14 and Sun, Feb 15. Since our main purpose was the snow festival in Ouchi-juku, I ended up contacting the Accommodation three times with various questions before our stay. Each time, they responded kindly and carefully, and we agreed on a check-in around 7:00 p.m. and dinner around 7:30 p.m. They said they only offer this kind of flexibility during the snow festival season, but it truly helped us. We had two meals (dinner and breakfast), and both were outstanding. The cuisine was consistently Japanese-style throughout—fresh ingredients with gentle seasoning that brought out their natural flavors. I usually have a small appetite and can only eat about half a serving, but that night I was so absorbed that I finished everything. As for breakfast, many places have great dinners but fairly ordinary breakfasts; here it was so elaborate that I found myself wondering how many dishes there were—and again I finished it all just like the night before. I especially loved the grapefruit served before the meal (not just plain grapefruit but a carefully prepared dish), the tuna-and-avocado tartare, and the grilled fish with rolled omelet. The female staff member who took care of us was also excellent—warm yet efficient, sometimes adding humor as she explained each dish and served our meal—thanks to her we had a wonderful time. The room was also excellent: spotless cleaning, very clean overall, with lovely furnishings. They even prepared a water pot filled with ice, which made me quietly happy. The indoor bath had great atmosphere as well; soaking in it felt truly luxurious. One small downside was that there were a few houses across the cliff on the other side, so I worried slightly about being visible from there and ended up bathing farther from the window—that part was a bit disappointing. We also used the private open-air bath, which was equally wonderful; our family enjoyed relaxing there at length. (I still noticed the area across the cliff here too, but since it was early morning I decided not to worry about it.) I also walked around inside the building; everywhere felt clean and pleasant. The woman who seemed to be the proprietress also treated us politely and sincerely in a very pleasant way. On departure they drove us to Shin-Shirakawa Station (about 50 minutes), and even though I tend to get motion sickness easily, it wasn’t an issue at all. We would love to visit again—thank you very much.

We had a relaxing stay.
It was a fulfilling stay, relaxing in the Onsen at a leisurely pace! What I liked most was the Shuttle Service—my luggage, the nearest station, and even the Shinkansen station were all covered, so I never felt any inconvenience getting around. The meals were delicious both dinner and breakfast and very satisfying; in particular, the tea and grapefruit served before the main breakfast course were excellent. I was also able to relax in the large public bath without running into many other guests. A few things I noticed: the black marble edge of the bath in the large public bath area was a bit slippery, so extra caution is needed. Also, when I entered my Room, the air conditioner setting was too high; if you don’t know how to adjust the fan speed, it could be confusing. For the bath in my Room, lowering the temperature by adding cold water is possible, but it was difficult to adjust if it wasn’t hot enough. However, when I contacted them, they responded kindly and helped me right away. With such comprehensive Shuttle Service options, this is a great choice for trips using the Shinkansen. I’d love to visit again. Thank you very much!

A simple and relaxing accommodation.
It has been over 20 years since my first stay, and I am always grateful for the warm and unchanging hospitality. The private Room bath with natural hot spring water is exceptional. Because of this, I naturally find myself visiting the public bath less often. The meals served in the private dining room are delicately seasoned and a delight to the palate. The smiles of the hostess and staff always melt away my daily fatigue, providing true relaxation. Thank you as always!

Meals are good, the Facility is old, and the service is...
120,000 yen for two people, one night with two meals, staying in the special room "Ryuugetsu." The rooms are generally old, and some tatami mats were sunken. At night, we were woken up by a loud "thud" sound from the floor above. Although it’s hard to tell from the photos, the private open-air bath attached to the room has a limited view. You can see a Seven-Eleven sign and houses across the river. The stream below is not visible unless you stand up. Additionally, it was disappointing that part of the wall was crumbling and there were cobwebs on the upper wall near the bathtub. It seemed like only around and inside the tub had been cleaned. The indoor bath had a pleasant hinoki (cypress) aroma and maintained its heat well. From its small window, you can see down into the valley below; however, it fogs up quickly so it's hard to enjoy for long periods. It would have been better if this view could be enjoyed from an open-air bath instead. The meals were delicious! Especially Yonezawa beef—it ranks in my top 5 meats ever eaten! Breakfast also offered about 20 different side dishes along with tasty rice. The private open-air bath was spacious with views of the stream below. However, since reservations are not required for this facility and entry depends on availability at any given time, we had to check multiple times whether it was free or occupied—making planning difficult. The location is quiet with occasional trains running along nearby valleys adding charm to our stay. While some stink bugs entered our room during our stay as warned by staff beforehand—it didn’t bother us much thanks due notice provided earlier! Service provided by staff members including Nakai-san (attendant) felt attentive overall but after requesting assistance locating forgotten items post-checkout no follow-up communication occurred hence rating their service experience three stars out-of-five overall

Winter Onsen
The bath and service were excellent, leaving a positive impression. The Room was spacious and comfortable, but the bedroom's air conditioning could be improved. It caused dryness when on and felt too cold when off; perhaps a device like a De'Longhi heater would be better. The main issue was the meals—it's hard to describe, but they all tasted similar or monotonous, which was quite disappointing.

Supreme Accommodation
We stayed at the accommodation during the New Year holidays for a family trip. We used the "Fujitsuki" room, where we could enjoy a breathtaking view of the snow falling and Aga River through the window beyond the shoji screens. The scenery was truly impressive. The room's private indoor and open-air baths were filled with natural hot spring water, always at an ideal temperature, providing a highly satisfying experience. As for meals, both dinner and breakfast seemed to be based on Kyoto cuisine, incorporating plenty of seasonal local ingredients in meticulously prepared dishes. Not only were they delightful in taste but also visually appealing with attention to detail in presentation and tableware. The portions were generous as well, giving a sense of great value. Above all, I believe that Fujiryukan's greatest charm lies in its hospitality. From the shuttle service from Shin-Shirakawa Station to check-out, every staff member provided attentive and heartfelt service that left a lasting impression on us. On our way back home, we heard about how beautiful it is during autumn foliage season as well. Thinking about visiting again during that time made our journey home even more pleasant. Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality!

Being welcomed with ...
Being welcomed with matcha tea was a first-time experience for me. The accommodation was very quiet, and the only time I noticed other guests was during meals. It felt like having the entire place to ourselves, which was truly luxurious. The meals were excellent, and there were several dishes that made me think, "I wish I could buy this as a souvenir." Since we stayed to celebrate my fiancé's birthday, we requested a birthday cake. Along with that, they kindly offered us glasses of wine as a service, which we deeply appreciated and found very thoughtful. The celebrant was also delighted. Although the number of stink bugs surprised us at first, it turned into a funny and memorable part of our stay. We would love to visit again in the future! Thank you for your hospitality!

A Relaxing Getaway After a Long Time
This is the accommodation that always comes to mind when you feel tired and want to go somewhere. From the warm welcome by staff who remembered us, to their attentive service, everything feels reassuring. The calming Japanese-style rooms provide a sense of peace. The meals, once again, featured a kaiseki cuisine full of autumn's bounty, thoughtfully prepared by the head chef. Rather than seeking novelty, this is an accommodation where you can enjoy traditional Japan—a place that soothes your heart. The person in charge of our meal provided professional explanations about the dishes but also kindly answered our questions about sightseeing and travel plans with genuine warmth and care. Their hospitality made us feel truly valued and left a positive impression throughout our stay. We had an exceptional time that healed both body and soul. We will definitely return again!

My cousin stayed here twice before and recommended it, so I came along this time. The food was excellent. The staff were very kind and provided outstanding service. I will definitely visit again, even though it's a bit far.

Very satisfied.
The staff greeted us with smiles from arrival to meal guidance and farewell, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. Both dinner and breakfast were entirely handmade by the head chef, and they were incredibly delicious, showcasing great attention to detail. The dishes and presentation were also carefully crafted, making it visually enjoyable as well. The Room had two separate spaces, providing a quiet and relaxing environment where we could experience an extraordinary time. We would love to visit again!

Exceptional Hospitality and Delightful Breakfast
This was my first time staying at this accommodation, and it was absolutely wonderful. I stayed for one night with breakfast included, and the breakfast was incredibly delicious. The first surprise was the "wake-up dish," a whole grapefruit used to create "Mineoka Tofu (milk pudding)." I enjoyed the milk pudding topped with jelly at first, then squeezed the grapefruit from the lid part to enjoy it as a refreshing morning fruit juice. It was truly impressive. The three-tiered octagonal box was packed with handmade delicacies, all of which were exceptionally tasty. The rice was cooked in an earthen pot and served with "niebana" (the soft layer on top) initially. For seconds, I finished off with Aizu Jidori egg over rice topped with special truffle soy sauce—it was the best egg over rice I've ever had in my life! As someone who works in food-related fields, I regret not including dinner... The staff were very knowledgeable; their explanations of each dish were excellent, making for an enjoyable experience overall. Additionally, when I called shortly before arrival to request a bed option, they kindly upgraded me to a more spacious room at no extra cost—allowing me to relax comfortably during my stay. When I contacted reception about borrowing an aroma pod later on, they thoughtfully suggested scents tailored to my mood or condition despite what must have been busy hours for them—I deeply appreciated their care and hospitality. Thank you so much! This has become another accommodation I'd love to revisit someday soon. Next time I'll definitely include dinner in my stay!

Probably the best Ryokan in the area, but...
Used for celebrating my mother's 88th birthday. Conveniently located near Ouchi-juku. Likely the best ryokan in the area. The cuisine and hot springs were excellent. However, the level of customer service was disappointing, creating a noticeable mismatch with the quality of the food. The hospitality at the front desk also left something to be desired. On the morning of our stay, we received a call saying that a suite had become available due to a cancellation and could be used for an additional fee, but the sales approach felt awkward. While I didn’t mind the outdated facilities or low-quality amenities, there is significant room for improvement in terms of service quality. It was unfortunate given it was such a special occasion to celebrate.

It was an accommodation full of hospitality.
We stayed here to celebrate my partner's birthday. First, the round-trip shuttle service from Shin-Shirakawa Station to the accommodation was very convenient. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with matcha and sweets, and the room was filled with the soothing aroma of green tea—a perfect start to our stay. We enjoyed a private open-air bath while it was still quiet and had a delightful Japanese course meal for dinner. Every dish was delicately flavored and delicious. Since I had informed them in advance about my partner's birthday, they kindly prepared a message plate and sparkling wine after dinner—thank you so much! Later, we relaxed in the open-air bath in our room, and the next morning started with milk jelly followed by a delicious breakfast. Both my partner and I were able to unwind completely and left feeling very satisfied. We've heard that May offers beautiful scenery here, so we hope to visit again during that season. Thank you for everything!

Offers a strong sense of privacy.
Thank you for the warm reception despite our late arrival. It was a quiet mountain accommodation, likely due to being a weekday. The room had an onsen bath with flowing hot spring water, spacious enough for two people to relax comfortably. The highlight was the meal—beautifully prepared and presented in a kaiseki style, and of course, the taste was impeccable. We spent over two hours enjoying every dish. The service was also attentive and polite. We would love to stay here again if we have the chance.

For us, it is a healing accommodation.
Thank you for your hospitality. I always enjoy using your facility as if it were my private villa. The comfortable atmosphere is my favorite part. The private Onsen in the room is absolutely amazing. The meals were also incredibly delicious. I look forward to staying with you again. Thank you very much!

Accommodation with an exceptionally skilled chef
Despite some service and facility shortcomings, such as cars left unattended at the entrance during check-in time, lack of proper greeting, additional charges of 3,300 yen per person for room selection with delayed guidance to our room, insufficient amenities for the number of guests, inconvenient confirmation process for private open-air bath availability requiring use of unsafe stairs, outdated facilities like traditional Japanese-style toilets and pre-earthquake push-type faucets—the cuisine prepared by the head chef was exceptional enough to overshadow these issues. This accommodation is worth revisiting solely for its exquisite meals and unique hot spring quality that provided a relaxing experience. We hope for significant improvements in reception arrangements during check-in, service quality, and facility upgrades.

Thank you very much for your hospitality. The Room was spacious, clean, and had a great view. The dishes were carefully prepared and incredibly delicious. Our trip to Fukushima, which we had never visited before, became a truly wonderful memory. Thank you so much!

I visited on a solo ...
I visited on a solo trip. As I work in the hospitality industry myself, I tend to pay attention to that aspect wherever I go, but all the staff here were very polite and warm in their language, making my stay extremely pleasant. The meals were also very delicious, and I ended up eating too much. Regarding the Onsen, I had to give up as the partition of the private bath was broken and it could be seen from the neighboring bath. I hope it will be restored soon. One thing for future reference... There is something I'd like to mention. Actually, I found a centipede in my room... Given the nature of this area, it's unavoidable and I'm used to insects as someone who grew up in rural areas; since it was late at night, I dealt with it myself. Since it's a place rich in nature, how about providing insect repellent spray or something similar in a corner of the room for such occasions!? I've been taken care of by many properties through IKYU.com before but this was such a wonderful property after a long time that I wanted to leave a comment. I would like to create another opportunity to visit again. Thank you for taking care of me.

A relaxing Stays.
Thank you very much for your hospitality this time as well. Thanks to you, we were able to relax and enjoy quality time with our family. The Facility, including the bath, was clean and wonderful. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were plentiful and satisfying. The service was also polite and good. However, the room temperature did not rise due to the season, which was a negative factor.

The best place to eat, sleep, and enjoy hot springs.

It was in a reasonable price range, but...
There were no issues with the service, such as the response after arrival, but when I entered the toilet in the room I was guided to, the toilet seat was not cleaned at all, and there was urine from the previous guest? on both the seat and the bowl. I don't think there were any amenities like toothbrushes or razors in the room. The onsen in the room was too hot, and it took a long time to get in (the water faucet was old and only a little water came out). The outdoor family open-air bath was too lukewarm, and the difference in outside temperature made it feel like I might catch a cold. As for the meals, both breakfast and dinner had more pre-made dishes than ever before, and I left more than ever. Even at a price of 40,000 to 50,000 yen, there was no instant coffee at the higher price range. It was a property with many first-time experiences.

The price was reason...
The price was reasonable, so I had some expectations, but perhaps due to the impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake and COVID-19, not much money was spent on facility investment? One concern was that I used the private open-air bath, but there were two, and the partition in the middle was not functioning well, leaving a gap, which was a bit disappointing. Also, it was unfortunate that there was no handrail at the open-air bath. As for the meal, since it was in Fukushima, I thought there might be matsutake mushrooms, but there weren't any. Finally, soba was served, and it was said to be 100% buckwheat soba, but I only took one bite and left the rest. The room was clean and comfortable, though...

I stayed in mid-Octo...
I stayed in mid-October. This was my second visit, and I was very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food. The open-air bath is spacious enough to enjoy the autumn scenery. Unfortunately, we encountered an unusual outbreak of stink bugs, and the staff were struggling, but they were diligent in dealing with the extermination, allowing us to have a comfortable stay. The cigarette smell in the elevator that bothered me on my previous visit was gone, and I had a pleasant stay. It's a minor issue, but the paper cups in the large public bath had a rather strong glue smell. There were a few concerns, but thanks to the staff's attentiveness and the food, I was able to relax, and I would like to visit again with my family if the opportunity arises. Thank you for your hospitality.
