    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    We stayed here to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. Room, amenities… The Room was wonderful. We were impressed by the futon and the sofa as well—I wish I could have them at home… The amenities were sufficient, but I’d be even happier if they were a bit more upscale. Hospitality, service… Everyone provided very pleasant service. They were also very considerate toward my husband, which made it a memorable celebration. Onsen, baths… It was a great Onsen; I soaked four times. The view from the open-air bath on the upper floor was truly soothing. This time, since the bath in our Room was not an Onsen bath, we didn’t use it. When it rains, I might hesitate a little to use the open-air bath at the large public bath (maybe it’s just me?). Meals… Everything was delicious. The portions were just right. Overall, we were very satisfied. Staying at Takinoya allowed us to spend a wonderful time celebrating his 60th birthday. Next time, I’d like to choose a type of Room with an Onsen bath… But if so, I’d want to stay two nights (lol). I’d love to visit again in a different season. Highly recommended as an adults-only Onsen Accommodation! Thank you very much for everything this time.

    Excellent dining experience

    Meals: Every dish at dinner was delicious, and we had a wonderful time. Bath: The washing area in the 5th-floor bath had only two stations, which felt insufficient. The large public bath itself was nice, but there was a guest with tattoos. (This is not Takinoya’s fault, but it inevitably leaves a negative impression when someone like that is present.)

    Fourth visit to Noboribetsu Onsen

    I chose Taki no Ie to enjoy a slightly luxurious stay at Noboribetsu Onsen on the last day of my trip. After being shown to the entrance, you take off your shoes before stepping inside. Check-in is done while enjoying matcha in a sofa seating area, and all the corridors leading to the Room are covered with tatami mats. It was a pleasure to feel tatami again after so long. The view from the Room was calming, with plenty of greenery. I would have loved to see the garden, but since we were on the 4th floor, that wasn’t really possible. We enjoyed our meals while looking out over the garden, which was wonderful. It was also my first time having a gentleman—like a sommelier—assist us throughout our stay as our in-room attendant.

    The front desk staff...

    The front desk staff who bring out your shoes without you even having to mention your Room number A new staff member who feels grateful to their senior for letting them take time off even when everyone is busy A senior male staff member who kindly came by in the morning just to check on us because of the typhoon It was a wonderful, comfortable Ryokan where everyone’s great character truly showed in the service.

    It was my first time...

    It was my first time visiting Noboribetsu Onsen, and I stayed at Takinoya, which has highly rated Reviews. As a result, I was extremely satisfied with both the meals and the hospitality! From the moment we arrived at the drop-off area, the staff warmly welcomed us. I wasn’t expecting the valley park, so it pleasantly exceeded my expectations. The extraordinary experience began at check-in while enjoying matcha tea and yokan. Since we stayed on a Sunday, there were fewer other guests, and the Onsen felt almost private for most of our stay, allowing us to relax deeply. Just as the Reviews said, the meals were outstanding in both presentation and taste. We were recommended hairy crab as an optional main dish, and choosing it was absolutely the right decision—we enjoyed both the meat and crab miso to the fullest. At departure, they even saw us off until our car disappeared from view—an unforgettable farewell. I wished we could have stayed longer. It was my first time in Noboribetsu Onsen, but this is an Accommodation I’ll want to return to whenever I visit Hokkaido.

    My Best Ryokan Ever!!

    This was the most comfortable stay we’ve ever had, so I’d like to share our experience. It’s conveniently within walking distance of the Onsen town. When visiting the Bear Park, they will help arrange Shuttle Service. Room (Non-smoking): We stayed as a family of five in a Japanese-Western style corner room (CW type). The Room was spacious enough for everyone, and we were all delighted—we were able to relax and spend time comfortably. Dining: Both breakfast and dinner were served in a private room at the dining venue called “Genseirin.” The delicate Japanese dishes, enjoyed while looking out over beautiful nature, were outstanding. A wonderful attendant took care of us throughout both meals and even saw us off after checkout, and our children grew very fond of her. Onsen: We used the open-air bath on the 5th floor. Listening to the river’s gentle flow, we felt an incredible sense of openness—like becoming one with nature. The Ryokan truly had it all: exceptional dining, Onsen, and hospitality. We feel we’ve found the best Ryokan of our lives. When we visit Noboribetsu Onsen again, we will definitely return.

    It was a wonderful accommodation.

    The hot spring quality was excellent, and the view from the open-air bath was wonderful. The staff’s hospitality was also very satisfying. The food was delicious, and I think this Accommodation offers great value for money. In January, I’d like to come to Hokkaido for a Multiple Night Stay.

    Not worth it.

    The cuisine, room, and service were all average. The room felt worn, and the food portions were very small. It wasn’t worth making a special trip. Right after I checked in, the price for the exact same plan and room dropped by 10,000 yen per night—unbelievable.

    Adult Accommodation

    I suddenly felt like visiting Noboribetsu Onsen, so I quickly searched and chose this Accommodation with the best Reviews. Luckily, there was availability. It was a trip I decided on just two days before—Done. The large windows and beautiful fresh greenery were soothing. The view from the panoramic bath was something I could have watched forever, and the water was wonderful. The meal portions were just right—not too much, not too little. It was well worth taking a flight just for Noboribetsu Onsen. This is an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again. Thank you for your hospitality.

    A wonderful accommodation.

    I am an older traveler. I have been to Hokkaido several times, but since I may not be able to visit many more times, I planned this as a “possibly last trip to Hokkaido,” linking places we were glad we visited before with places we had never been. One of the places my husband wanted to visit again was Takinoya, where we stayed about 20 years ago, so we chose it for our Accommodation. It has been renovated, but some parts are unchanged, and it brought back many fond memories. The meals were truly outstanding.

    It was a lovely, charming accommodation with a wonderful atmosphere.

    I stayed at Takinoya for the first time, a place I had long admired. Although the weather was unfortunately rainy, I was able to fully enjoy the Onsen and the meals in the calm atmosphere unique to this long-established Accommodation. The meals in particular were beautifully presented, and I could really sense the care put into the tableware. I was also impressed that Airdog air purifiers were installed in shared spaces such as the lobby and the post-bath lounge. One small point: I noticed an indescribably unpleasant odor in my Room, but my husband said it didn’t bother him at all, so I think I may simply be overly sensitive to smells.

    Back in Noboribetsu after a long time

    I visited Noboribetsu again after a long time. Most of the tourists outside were from China and Korea, and there were hardly any Japanese visitors, so the Onsen town itself felt quite run-down. The Accommodation has aged, and both the Room and the in-room bath showed noticeable wear. However, the Accommodation’s baths, including the open-air bath, were very nice. The garden was also beautiful. Dinner was served in the Room, and I thought the meal was quite good. I stayed this time because I couldn’t forget how impressed I was on my previous visit, but it ended up being somewhat disappointing compared to my expectations.

    A relaxing accommodation.

    From the warm welcome and attentive service to the delicious yokan and matcha, I felt relaxed, thinking, “Ah, I’m back at Taki no Ie.” The meals were wonderful, and the young woman in charge was cheerful and efficient. I truly enjoyed the delicious dishes in a pleasant atmosphere. I’ll be staying again in August and September. On my way out, I was happy to see the proprietress’s kind smile—it became a lovely souvenir to take home with me.

    It was well received.

    To celebrate my sister and her husband both turning 60, I made a Reservation at Takinoya in Noboribetsu—a place my sister had long wanted to visit—and gave it to them as a gift. From check-in through the Onsen, the meals, and all the way until they left, everything was wonderful, and they came home completely satisfied. They said they would love to come back again on their own next time.

    It was a wonderful Ryokan!

    I stayed for one night. First of all, the garden is beautiful! It seems to be maintained by a renowned gardener brought in from Kyoto, and it’s truly impressive. If the timing is right, you might even spot some wild animals, but unfortunately I couldn’t because it was raining. That said, the baths were amazing! Even in the rain, I thoroughly enjoyed the Onsen—the calm, simple design with no unnecessary elements, the wonderful view from there, and the sound of rainfall all blended perfectly. There are four different types of spring water as well; each had distinct characteristics that were easy to notice, and I was able to relax deeply. The food was delicious too. At this historic Ryokan, the staff explained everything with great energy, and I had a wonderful time. Thank you very much. I’ll definitely stay again when I visit Noboribetsu! *Jigokudani (Hell Valley), which you can reach on foot, was even more impactful than I expected—I really felt the grandeur of nature. Highly recommended!*

    Returned to this long-established Ryokan—once again, it was excellent.

    I found an available room at the end of March going into April and decided to visit on short notice. It was my first time back in 30 years, so my memory is vague, but the Accommodation felt nicely renovated. The staff’s service was pleasantly attentive without being intrusive, and I was very satisfied with both the meals and the Onsen. I didn’t know the Onsen water had five types—maybe seven? The open-air bath had a wonderful atmosphere, with milky-white water. This is Noboribetsu Onsen at its best. The cuisine was well balanced in both quality and portion size—truly what you’d expect from a long-established Ryokan known for its cooking. The younger staff were also excellent. Next time, I’d love to visit during the snowy season.

    It was a great accommodation.

    The Room and bath were clean, and the hot spring water quality was excellent. There was a wide variety of dishes, and you can choose the main course, so both seniors and younger guests will be satisfied. The portions were just right. The salmon at breakfast was delicious. The futon was on the softer side and sank slightly. The pillow was versatile and worked well in different ways. The staff were also attentive, making our stay very comfortable. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Wonderful hot spring baths and Room

    We had a very relaxing stay. Having meals served in the Room allowed us to unwind in a calm setting, which was wonderful. The food had a gentle, pleasant flavor, but the dinner ingredients did not feel particularly luxurious. There were no items such as crab, sea urchin, or salmon roe. For the main dishes, we had abalone shabu-shabu and beef braised in red wine, but they lacked visual appeal and impact.

    As always, this is an excellent Accommodation.

    This is an Accommodation we stay at from time to time in Noboribetsu, and it never disappoints—truly the best. It was my first time staying in the DW type. It’s more spacious than the D type, and the private open-air bath in the Room was exceptional. Snow started falling at just the right moment, so we enjoyed a “snow-viewing bath”—such wonderful atmosphere and perfect timing. At dinner, in addition to the set menu, we were also served a special dish from the head chef. Thank you very much—it was absolutely delicious. We visited for my partner’s birthday. Thank you for the dessert plate, and thank you as well for preparing a cake. For Hinamatsuri, hanging hina dolls were displayed in the lobby—so beautiful and elegant. It was lovely. When we left, everyone—including the proprietress—saw us off. Thank you for your heartfelt hospitality. Every time, one of the attendants walks across the long outdoor corridor to see our car off. We waved to say thank you—each of these small gestures truly stays with us. It can be very difficult to book this Accommodation, but in Noboribetsu I can’t imagine staying anywhere else. In terms of price there is an even more upscale Accommodation called ○○, but I feel Takinoya is on a higher level. Thank you very much.

    It’s been a while.

    I stayed at “Takinoya” in Noboribetsu Onsen. Unlike the new, modern-style luxury Onsen Accommodations that have opened around Hokkaido over the past decade or so, Takinoya is a true long-established classic. This was my first stay in five years since the COVID-19 pandemic, and everything had been renewed with great taste and kept impeccably clean, while still retaining the dignified presence of one of Hokkaido’s leading traditional Onsen Ryokan.     An accommodation we can proudly recommend across the whole country

    Overall, I have stayed at many Onsen Ryokans and Hotels in the past, but I have never found an Accommodation that surpasses this one. I highly recommend that everyone stay in a DW or D-type Room (with a private open-air Onsen bath). To M, our Room attendant, thank you as always for your attentive service.

    The public bath is not clean.

    It was my first time staying at Takino-ya in a while. Despite arriving after 8 PM due to a severe snowstorm and highway closures, taking over 3 hours from Sapporo, I was warmly welcomed—thank you for that. However, after dinner, I visited the large public bath and touched the handrail of the reclining bath. The underside of the handrail near the water surface was extremely slimy with what seemed like mold, leaving black residue on my hands that was difficult to wash off. It was very unpleasant. The entire bath area, including the washing stations, had red stains and felt unclean, which left me disappointed. I hope thorough cleaning can be ensured moving forward.

    I had a relaxing time.

    I visited with my elderly mother and a family with specific preferences. The staff kindly accommodated my mother's requests regarding the dinner main dishes, which made her very happy. The staff member who guided us through the facility and room mentioned that they could prepare coffee in the lounge area, so we enjoyed some there. Later at night, we had coffee-based cocktails at the bar. Both were absolutely delicious, and we had a wonderful time chatting. We fully enjoyed both the hinoki bath in our room and the onsen within the facility, relaxing in a spacious room as well. A female staff member who served us during dinner and breakfast even saw us off at departure, making it an incredibly delightful experience overall. It’s hard to secure a reservation here, but I will definitely visit again!

    Unfortunately

    As a luxury Ryokan, I always look forward to my stay, but there were a few concerns this time. First, the fireplace in the Room was out of order and could not be used. Additionally, when looking outside from the bath in the Room, I noticed pipes hanging down, which gave an impression that Facility maintenance was not well-managed. Furthermore, there were two fire alarm announcements before bedtime saying "Fire! Fire!" which caused significant anxiety. Although it turned out to be a false alarm and an explanation with an apology was provided by a staff member during checkout the next day, it was disappointing that no apology came directly from the proprietress or Ryokan management. I hope for improvements in Facility management and crisis response awareness as befitting a luxury Ryokan.

    The Best Accommodation!

    The entire accommodation is impressively clean everywhere. The staff are all pleasant, and their smiles are truly comforting. From start to finish, the stay was genuinely enjoyable. Of course, the hot spring quality is excellent! The room's bath also had natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source. This has become an accommodation I definitely want to visit again—repeat stay is a done deal!

    My favorite Ryokan in Hokkaido!

    It was my first stay in about two years as I had difficulty securing a reservation for my preferred room and dates! It happened to be the day when snow started to settle, and the view from the open-air bath was stunning! As always, both the quality and quantity of the meals were excellent, and both dinner and breakfast this time were incredibly delicious. One of the reasons I love Takino-ya is their wide selection of alcoholic beverages available during meals. I was also delighted that the hairdryer in the room was Refa＾＾ I'm already looking forward to visiting again soon! *I highly recommend trying Shiratama Monaka from nearby Kanmi Hiyori-do; it's absolutely delicious!

    First-time Accommodation

    It was difficult to make a reservation, but I was able to stay at the accommodation. The meals were very delicious, and the staff's service was polite and excellent. The coffee, in particular, was very tasty. (The impression of the staff was very positive.) The staff's service and detailed explanations during dinner were outstanding. If there is another opportunity, I would like to stay again.

    First Visit in 3 Years - Completely Satisfied!!

    Visited for the first time in three years. I had always wanted to stay here, but it was so popular that I couldn't make a Reservation. Finally, I used my paid leave and stayed for 1 night and 2 days in a DW-type Room! The private open-air bath in the Room and the large public bath both use different hot spring sources, which was amazing! Since it was winter, the outdoor bath in the large public bath was slightly lukewarm, but the bath in my Room was piping hot and perfect for warming up my cold body—absolutely fantastic! The view from the large public bath was also wonderful, and I thoroughly enjoyed the sauna as well. The meals here are incredibly delicious—I left completely satisfied and full! Breakfast featured gentle-on-the-stomach dishes that were also very tasty. If I had to mention one thing, it would be nice if there were carbonated drinks stocked in the fridge provided in each Room (just a personal preference though!). Additionally, while spending time at your lovely lounge area is already enjoyable, adding small treats like chocolates (in addition to candies) would be even better! Overall, this stay exceeded all expectations. If I'm able to secure another Reservation here again someday, I'll definitely return! The staff's hospitality was exceptionally kind—it made for an unforgettable trip!

    The Onsen was excellent.

    The meals and onsen had a great reputation, so I made a reservation six months in advance. On the day of our stay, it was raining, and when we left our luggage before check-in, they kindly lent us umbrellas. They also arranged shuttle service to the bear farm, which was very helpful. We stayed in a room with an open-air bath. The onsen in the room was iron-rich but not too hot; we could adjust the temperature by adding water and enjoyed it at leisure. The large public bath on the basement floor had lukewarm open-air baths where we could soak while admiring snowy landscapes—a blissful experience. With sulfur springs, iron springs, salt springs, and radium springs available, this accommodation ranks among the top for onsens I've experienced so far. Meals were served in-room with perfect timing and just the right portions. However, breakfast was rather ordinary. Although I heard this is categorized as a luxury ryokan in Noboribetsu, I felt somewhat underwhelmed by their services—no complimentary alcohol in the lounge or rooms, no ice cream at post-bath areas, no pajamas provided either. Considering accommodations at this price range often offer more amenities or services elsewhere, it was slightly disappointing overall.

    It was my first visi...

    It was my first visit to Takino-ya in a long time (last stayed in 2013), and I was very much looking forward to it. However, there were a few points that left me feeling slightly disappointed this time. Perhaps because it wasn't a room with in-room dining, I never figured out who was responsible for our room during the stay (the person who guided us to the room at the beginning did not provide detailed explanations about our stay, and we even had to inquire at the front desk ourselves the next day). Regarding meals, I appreciated their consideration for allergies and enjoyed them safely and deliciously; however, compared to my previous experience with in-room dining, the impression of the dishes felt different. Breakfast was well-portioned and very tasty. On the second day, a male staff member came to replenish supplies in our room; his polite service left a good impression. However, overall service felt somewhat rushed—perhaps due to understaffing? The onsen remained as wonderful as ever, allowing us to relax over our 2-night/3-day stay.
