An exquisite dinner and a perfect Japanese breakfast
The private atmosphere was well maintained. The Room and bath were great, but above all, we were extremely satisfied with the meals. True to the name “auberge,” we ate a little too much—but then we relaxed in the Room. We had an amazing day.

An Accommodation recommended for its warm hospitality and delicious cuisine
The staff’s wonderful smiles, their kind and attentive service to my mother who travels with me, delicious cuisine that delights all five senses, and an Onsen you can enjoy as much as you like whenever you like—everything about this Accommodation is consistently excellent, so we keep coming back. The Rooms are clean and comfortable with a strong sense of privacy, and each Room has a completely different atmosphere, which makes it fun to try them all. We would love to visit again in a different season.

It was a wonderful Accommodation and a great experience.
The quality of the meals and the comfort of the Room were both excellent. The only disappointment was the Onsen water quality. It was a good day.

The meal was excellent!
What I especially enjoyed was the food. Dinner was very filling and took about three hours to finish, but everything was delicious, so I felt it was well worth taking the time. If I had to mention a downside, the shower selector lever in the Room was stiff and a bit difficult to use. I also thought the open-air bath could be a little larger. Other than that, the hospitality and service were great, and since the bed was large, I was able to rest comfortably. We also received some souvenir sweets when leaving, which made us very satisfied. Thank you very much.

I was able to unwind and recover from my everyday fatigue!
Not only was the food excellent, but the front desk staff were also very courteous, making my stay comfortable from start to finish. The Room was in a private detached unit, so I wasn’t bothered by any surrounding noise and could truly relax. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and it was a highly satisfying stay. Overall, it’s a wonderful Accommodation, and I would definitely like to stay again. It was absolutely amazing!

Satisfied with a Japanese-style auberge.
We decided to visit Kirifuri Plateau to admire the Nikko kisuge lilies, and when we searched on IKYU for an Accommodation where we could also enjoy an Onsen, we were intrigued by this unique place that presents itself as a Japanese-cuisine auberge and made a last-minute Reservation. The meal itself was truly delicious, but what impressed us even more was the outstanding skill of the staff, who could answer immediately any questions about the ingredients and tableware. With more Accommodations recently switching to buffet-style dining, it made us happy to be reminded of how enjoyable meals while traveling should be. Even though the Room interior may feel like a bit of a contrast for senior guests, we had a comfortable stay with two baths available at any time. It was truly a wonderful Nikko Accommodation.

It was a great stay!
It was a truly satisfying stay! The Room had two open-air baths, one with a jacuzzi. I could soak as many times as I liked at any time, and it was incredibly relaxing. The special kaiseki dinner course was beautifully presented dish by dish, and everything was genuinely delicious. Breakfast was also excellent. All the staff were kind, and I had a very comfortable stay. The baths, the food, and the hospitality all exceeded my expectations. I would definitely like to stay here again when I visit Nikko!

All requirements are met.
The meals were simply outstanding, and we enjoyed an impressive variety of dishes. Among all the Accommodations we have stayed at so far, this was the most delicious—truly satisfying. In addition, the young proprietress’s attentiveness was exceptional. From showing us to our Room to explaining each dish, she assisted us with great care and courtesy. Thanks to her warm hospitality, we felt comfortable throughout our stay. The Room was thoroughly cleaned down to every detail, allowing us to relax and rest comfortably. There were also both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, which helped us fully unwind from everyday fatigue. We were extremely satisfied with everything—the delicious food, heartfelt hospitality, comfortable guest room, and baths. We would love to stay again.

I’m sorry.
I always make Reservations through IKYU’s booking site. I did so again this time, but I felt this Accommodation may not meet IKYU’s standards. Check-in I’ve been booking through the IKYU site for years and enjoying my trips, but I’ve never been called to the front desk to fill in my address and other details. Here, even though there were no other guests, I was called to the front desk to check in. The Room is described as having two baths, but even if you close the curtain from inside the Room, it is still fully visible from outside, which was disappointing. It is also described as an Onsen, but it is filled with carried water. Also, despite informing them of my allergy in advance, it was still served to me. Unacceptable.

Thanks to the wonderful hospitality, our snowy day in Nikko became an unforgettable memory.
I happened to visit on a weekend with snow in the forecast. From check-in, I was excited by the welcome drink and the chance to choose a yukata. The Room was just outside the front building. Each unit is separate, and you get an entire standalone building all to yourself! It was very spacious, spotless, and beautifully maintained. There are two baths—an indoor bath and an outdoor bath—and I was told they draw Onsen water every day, replace it daily, and keep it constantly warmed to 42°C. You can even dry towels by hanging them up from the heat, and the amenities are well stocked… Everything about both the Room and the baths was comfortable—I honestly wanted to stay in all day. Meals start all at once at a set time. True to its auberge style, both dinner and breakfast had an incredible number of dishes—everything was delicious and wonderfully luxurious. Breakfast especially impressed me: freshly cooked rice in a traditional pot was prepared, and I couldn’t help but wonder how early they must start getting everything ready. They prepared umbrellas for us after our meal, and even while snow kept falling after it had already piled up, they cleared snow to make paths—so moving between the Room and dining area through the snow became part of the fun. They were thoughtful in so many ways to ensure guests feel comfortable, and thanks to their warm hospitality I truly enjoyed a relaxing, memorable snowy stay in Nikko! The Accommodation is even closer to the station than it looks on a map—just over 10 minutes on foot or ¥600 by taxi. With such lovely scenery along the way, it’s also a perfect distance for a pleasant walk. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

A luxury accommodation limited to five groups per day, operated exclusively by Japanese staff.
These days, even many high-end Accommodations in this price range are staffed by foreign employees. Everyone works hard, but it can sometimes feel a bit lacking. Here, all staff are Japanese, and the attentive conversation during meals helped us relax and enjoy a calm stay. The dinner is Japanese cuisine, and it felt a level above other Accommodations in the same price range. The Room has two baths—an indoor bath and an open-air bath. In winter, it’s cold for the few steps when moving from the open-air bath back indoors, but it’s nice to be able to warm up again inside before heading out. That said, it was a little disappointing that the bathtub was a plastic unit bath in terms of atmosphere. Overall, the food was truly delicious and the dining atmosphere was wonderful, so this became an Accommodation I’d like to visit again.

Make a little effort to enhance customer satisfaction.
The facility lacks universal design. I stayed with my elderly parent and myself, who has a back disability, but the entrance had steep stairs without handrails, making me consider leaving right away. The aquarium in the lobby was also noticeably dirty and disappointing. The bathroom in the Room lacked handrails, making it difficult to use. These issues could be improved with minimal effort. Due to last night's snowfall, the outdoor path from the standalone guest rooms to the dining area was icy in places and extremely dangerous. I will never use this place again. What was meant to create memories for my parent ended up being ruined.

It was a very nice accommodation.
I had always wanted to visit Nikko, but I planned the trip during the harsh winter season and thought it might have been a mistake. However, this accommodation I chose based on reviews turned out to be excellent, making it a very satisfying and wonderful trip. The staff were all kind and humble, which made us feel truly welcomed. The room was spacious and well-heated, ensuring a comfortable stay. There were two indoor baths as well as two outdoor open-air baths—an incredible luxury! I soaked in them multiple times, which was incredibly relaxing and effective in relieving daily fatigue. And above all else, the food was absolutely amazing! It was so good that it made me want to visit the Tokyo restaurant supervised by the same chef. Breakfast offered a unique fusion of Japanese and Western styles that you rarely come across elsewhere. On our way back home, we talked about wanting to return during the autumn foliage season next time. We are so glad we found such a great accommodation in Nikko and definitely want to visit again someday. Thank you very much! If there’s one thing I could suggest for improvement—it would be nice if there were more variety of drinks or water available in the refrigerator.

A Charming Auberge
We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate a family birthday. The exterior had a slightly different atmosphere from the photos. Upon check-in, the interior felt like an entirely different world. The room was clean and warm. The bath included both semi-open-air and open-air options, available anytime. However, as the water was colorless and transparent with no description of its properties, it lacked a strong onsen feel. One star was deducted due to amenities—there was only one set of skincare products per person for one use; it would have been nice to have enough for both evening and morning for each guest. Dinner was served in a private building separate from the main accommodation, and we did not encounter any other guests during our stay. Both dinner and breakfast were incredibly luxurious and delicious! The presentation and tableware were stunning, leaving our entire family very satisfied. The staff's hospitality was consistently kind, making our stay truly relaxing. Thank you so much! This is an accommodation we definitely want to visit again!

To Call It an Auberge...
The meals were not very satisfying and overall too sweet. The Hoba-yaki beef was particularly sweet and inedible, so I added soy sauce. However, the mentaiko and salmon meunière served in the morning were delicious. The parking lot is quite small.

First-time Use
Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with creative touches that made the meals enjoyable. However, the dinner service was extremely slow, taking over 3 hours to complete. Starting at 6:30 PM and finishing around 9:30 PM left little time to relax in the room afterward, which was disappointing. Breakfast started at 8:30 AM, but with a checkout time of 10 AM, there was barely any time to pack after eating, making it feel rushed. Regarding the bath facilities, I questioned whether it was truly an Onsen. Given the higher price point and my expectations, this was disappointing as well. The room left a neutral impression—neither particularly good nor bad—but the drinks in the refrigerator felt insufficient. Cleanliness seemed acceptable overall. As I had been looking forward to this accommodation very much, I felt that more smiles and warmth from staff could have made for a more pleasant stay in terms of hospitality. Overall, it is hard to say that the services matched the price paid for this accommodation.

To celebrate the 1st anniversary of our engagement with my wife
We usually visit onsen in Shizuoka or Chiba, but this was our first time in Nikko. We found this accommodation through a review my wife came across and made the reservation. Due to some detours along the way, we arrived at 4:30 PM, just as it was starting to get dark. Snow was visible on the nearby mountains and there were traces of snow near Nikko IC as well, which made us slightly concerned about our regular tires, but we arrived without any issues. After parking the car, someone came to greet us after a short wait; however, they didn’t assist with carrying our bags and we proceeded directly to check-in at the front desk. There seemed to be a welcome drink available, but since we arrived late, we were taken straight to our room instead. The room had a soft green theme and felt very clean. The heating worked perfectly so it wasn’t cold at all. The bath facilities included two options: an open-air bath and an indoor bath equipped with a jacuzzi—both felt luxurious! For both dinner and breakfast, rather than focusing on extravagant ingredients, every dish showcased meticulous preparation with delicate flavors that paired beautifully with stunning tableware and delicious broth flavors—we enjoyed every bite immensely! It was truly an excellent accommodation experience. On our way back home, we visited Toshogu Shrine for year-end prayers of gratitude while witnessing their soot-cleaning ritual—a perfect conclusion to a satisfying trip!

It was a wonderful Hotel.
Upon arrival, the Christmas-themed decorations were delightful. When guided to the Room, it looked different from the images on IKYU. Perhaps it has been renovated? The Room was beautifully designed with a touch of Japanese style and a lovely peppermint green color. The subtle aroma added to the pleasant atmosphere. Both breakfast and dinner exceeded expectations with their delicious flavors and generous portions. We had an incredibly wonderful time—thank you so much! Unfortunately, it was too cold to enjoy the open-air bath, which was disappointing. I hope to visit again in a different season!

I think this is a great value accommodation. I prefer accommodations with private open-air baths in the room, and the price was reasonable, plus the meals were very delicious. Definitely planning to return. I would love to visit in different seasons. The only downside was... the toilet. I'm not a fan of open-style toilets.

Exceptional hospitality!
I stayed on 11/15 and was immediately impressed by the exceptional level of hospitality. During check-in, although it was crowded, the staff efficiently guided guests without causing any discomfort. After being shown to my room with detailed explanations, I felt even more satisfied! As for the meals, each dish was carefully explained and served at perfect timing—everything was absolutely delicious! For breakfast, they kindly adjusted the start time 30 minutes earlier to accommodate my request, which added to my satisfaction. The room provided a very comfortable space where I could fully enjoy a relaxing atmosphere. Although the open-air bath wasn't sourced directly from a hot spring as mentioned apologetically by staff, the stunning garden view made up for it completely. It’s an accommodation I would love to visit again!

The accommodation was comfortable and the meals were delicious, perfect for hiking in Kirifuri Highlands.
The room had three baths, which was absolutely wonderful. The outdoor jacuzzi, in particular, offered a stunning view of illuminated autumn leaves, creating an unforgettable experience. Dinner was plentiful and delicious from the appetizers to the main course and even the rice and soba at the end. The parfait for dessert was especially delightful. I would definitely love to stay here again!

Stable Comfort
Every year, we visit during the autumn foliage season near our wedding anniversary. This auberge is truly an accommodation with outstanding cuisine. The dinner was absolutely satisfying, featuring dishes like deep-fried taro in batter, matsutake mushroom tempura, grouper, fresh tuna and amberjack sashimi, grilled Mikawa beef fillet on magnolia leaf (incredibly tender!!), sticky rice and soba to finish, and a sweet potato parfait. For breakfast, the simmered radish with minced meat sauce, lemon butter-grilled autumn salmon, lobster miso soup, and yuba tsukudani are consistently delicious every year. We also look forward to the comfort of the private bath that rivals the quality of the meals each year. The stunning autumn leaves combined with Hanabusa's exquisite cuisine always create a delightful harmony for us annually. We will visit again next year—thank you for another wonderful time!

It was a truly wonderful accommodation. The meals featured delicious meat, fish, seasonal vegetables, and mushrooms served in various forms, all of which were absolutely delightful. The room's open-air bath was clean and comfortable, with thoughtful touches like a heated towel rack that made the stay very pleasant. As the name "Auberge" suggests, it seemed to focus on meals. On this day, it was an autumn seasonal menu, and with carefully selected dishes like matsutake mushroom dobin mushi and sashimi, it became a very enjoyable accommodation experience.

Warm hospitality
The staff's warmth made for a pleasant experience. I appreciated the freezer and the availability of not only water but also cold tea in the refrigerator. The food was delicious, but it would be nice to have an option to start dinner at 18:00. For breakfast, with a 10:00 check-out, starting at 8:30 feels rushed; having options like 7:30 or at least 8:00 would be more convenient. The freshly cooked rice was also delightful (it would be great if leftover rice could be made into onigiri with some accompaniments).

It was truly a comfortable day.
We arrived in Nikko around 11 a.m. and first went to drop off our luggage. The staff provided truly pleasant service and even arranged a taxi for our plans later in the day. After check-in, we enjoyed a welcome drink and relaxed in the Onsen, followed by the much-anticipated meal. It was Japanese cuisine, and each dish showcased thoughtful creativity, which we thoroughly appreciated. My wife was also very pleased. In the morning, walking along the path from our villa was refreshing and made for a perfect start to the day. Thank you very much!

For a birthday trip with my husband
We stayed at the accommodation to celebrate my husband's birthday. From the reservation stage, they carefully listened to our requests, and on the day of our stay, we were warmly welcomed, which made us very happy. The food was especially outstanding; every dish was truly delicious and left us completely satisfied. We enjoyed a leisurely meal while happily discussing, "Which one is the best?" "No, they're all so good that we can't choose!" fulfilling my husband's wishes as well. We had a wonderful and memorable time and are filled with gratitude. We would love to visit again!
