Facility equipment is worn or damaged!

First, I was shocked when I arrived by car in front of the Hotel! The paving blocks were badly uneven due to frost heave—so much so that a small car could hit the bumps unexpectedly, bounce, and potentially cause an accident! The large scratches and peeling on the wall and pillars at the front of the Hotel were very noticeable, and I felt uneasy, wondering if I had chosen the wrong Hotel. When I asked, they said it was caused by falling snow and ice in winter, but it was still quite a shock. The front desk service felt unprofessional. The room air conditioning is centrally controlled for the entire building; it was set to heating, and since it was an unusually warm day for May, it was uncomfortable. The bath Facility is not bad, but the reclining bath was very uncomfortable, and overall the water temperature being lukewarm was disappointing.

    It feels a bit lacking.

This was my first time at this Hotel, and it was La Vista—a place I’d been wanting to visit for a long time. So, off to La Vista in winter! It took about 3.5 hours from Sapporo via the expressway. There were both great points and disappointing points. On the positive side, we had a mountain-view Room, so we could clearly see Mt. Asahidake in winter, making for a truly dynamic view. On the disappointing side, the in-room footwear was like slip-on sandals an elderly person might wear, which ruined the atmosphere. At least standard slippers would have been fine. The baths were a comfortable temperature on the day of our stay, but when I used the private bath at 5:30 a.m., it was very lukewarm—so cold that I got out quickly and went to the large public bath instead. However, both the indoor bath and open-air bath there were also lukewarm—so much so that it was hard to stay in. In the end, my body didn’t warm up at all, so I had to use the sauna before leaving the bath area. Maybe this happened right after cleaning, but it was my first time having an experience like this. Also, some foreign snowboarders left their luggage around the lobby and near hallways/floors, which was quite obstructive. It felt like some measures are needed—such as gathering luggage in one designated area. In any case, it’s a shame because the service and hospitality were very kind and excellent. Honestly, I don’t think I’ll be coming back next time.

    Kyoto Resort with Reliable Quality

I stayed at this accommodation during my 4-night, 5-day trip to Hokkaido to see Japan's earliest autumn foliage at Daisetsuzan. Perhaps due to the season, there were many international guests, making it quite lively. I stayed in a Mount View Twin room. Although the view was across the parking lot, I could enjoy a close-up view of Daisetsuzan, which was great. The room did not have a private bath, but there were private baths available that could be used freely when unoccupied. The meals were Western-style courses and very delicious. At night, "Yonaki Soba" (late-night noodles) was also served, which was nice. Overall, I found La Vista Daisetsuzan to be an accommodation with excellent cost performance. The room, bath facilities, meals, and accommodation fee all felt average but not bad at all. While it may not be an extraordinary place to stay, it's the kind of accommodation that makes you think it's nice once in a while—one where anyone would likely leave without complaints!

The weather was nice on the day, allowing for plenty of sightseeing. The Hotel exterior feels a bit old, so cleaning and repairs to the entrance path might be necessary. The temperature of the women's bath seemed slightly lukewarm.

A perfect stay for three generations.

We stayed with a plan offering free meals for toddlers. The interior of the hotel has a Nordic antique feel, and the service was excellent. Tea service at the bar, fried potato snacks, wine service, and more were delightful touches. The room even had a coffee grinding set, making our stay truly luxurious. The food was absolutely delicious, and alcoholic beverages were reasonably priced and easy to order. The Tokachi beef fillet steak, slow-cooked for hours, was incredibly tender and flavorful. The bread was also delicious—truly a blissful experience. Dinner was French cuisine but not overly formal; it was comfortable even with children around. The hotel staff were very kind and accommodating. Breakfast included tasty pork miso soup and unlimited salmon roe! Even in the morning, the meat dishes were fantastic! There was also an all-you-can-drink alcohol option (laughs). For those heading out for mountain climbing in the morning, it might be hard to resist this breakfast lineup... The Onsen's effects weren't immediately noticeable but left my skin feeling smooth afterward. We also tried the private bath—it offered a relaxing experience though it felt slightly hot. It would be great if there were activities starting directly from the hotel as well! I’d love to stay again regularly during autumn, winter or summer seasons!

    It was my first stay.

Being in the mountains, it's understandable, but there were quite a lot of insects. The meals felt a bit small in portion, but the "Yonaki Soba" (Asahikawa Ramen) served at night made up for it. It was very delicious. The Onsen was great as well. The private Onsen was nice too, though I felt it could use a bit more maintenance. Overall, the building's age is noticeable, and I think areas like the hotel’s exterior walls could use some repairs. Because of this, no one seemed to take photos with the hotel as a backdrop. When we arrived, we even wondered if it was still operating because of how worn-out it looked! However, we were satisfied with our stay since we had a beautiful view of Mount Asahi from our room. Thank you very much!

    Generally satisfied

The Room, bath, and meals were all very satisfying. The breakfast, in particular, was impressively abundant—truly living up to the reputation of Kyoritsu Resort—and I ended up eating too much in the morning. If I were to point out one improvement, it would be the indoor slippers provided in the Room for women. They felt uncomfortable to wear as the toes rubbed against them and lacked cushioning, which made them quite tiring. The men's slippers were very comfortable, so it might be better to standardize them. Additionally, during checkout, the male staff member who assisted seemed busy and did not make eye contact or appear fully attentive; his "Thank you~" felt dismissive as he sent us off, which was disappointing. On the other hand, the female staff member who welcomed us was very polite and made a great impression.

    A resort-like Hotel

The exterior exudes a European resort vibe, while the interior features subdued lighting for a cozy atmosphere. Dinner was French cuisine, offering a luxurious and delicious experience. The Room had a fireplace, creating a charming ambiance. Unfortunately, it rained, so we couldn't see Mount Daisetsu. The next day, we planned to enjoy the breathtaking views from the Daisetsuzan Ropeway but had to cancel as visibility above the mountainside was limited to just 10 meters due to clouds. It was an excellent Hotel with outstanding hospitality.

    I chose this Hotel b...

I chose this Hotel because it is close to the Asahidake Ropeway. The exterior is lovely and fits the mountain scenery well. Inside, although old, it has a nice retro feel. The Onsen was relaxing and helped relieve my fatigue. However, the sauna benches were so hot that I couldn’t sit down, so I ended up giving up on using it. The creative French dinner course was disappointing, especially because I had high expectations. This is purely my personal impression: Sole meunière with beurre noisette… a small sole; it felt like a nostalgic, home-style dish that you don’t often see in modern course meals. Pan-seared Tokachi “Lavista” beef sirloin The meat was delicious, but the maitake fritter side dish (?) seemed to have been sitting for a while and was greasy with oil. It’s a shame, especially since it was on the main-course plate. Our table attendant was a pleasant woman who stayed cheerful and smiling, but at the end of each menu explanation she would say “It’s delicious!” and every time she cleared plates she asked “Was it delicious?” It felt like we were being pressured to say it was good, which made me uncomfortable. Even when you’re not hungry, the late-night soba makes you want to eat it—comforting ramen-like noodles. It’s an unmissable Lavista service and really hits the spot. Breakfast is what makes Lavista appealing—I’ve stayed at their properties in Kushiro, Furano, and Hakodate. This time I chose a plan with dinner for the first time because of the location and my expectations for the creative French cuisine; I’m being candid about dinner as constructive feedback. Lastly, when making my Reservation through IKYU I left a question in the comments section, but I only received an answer by phone around the time when Cancellation Fees would apply. Most Hotels reply quickly by email to questions. I also can’t always answer calls while working… Did they forget? Is this their policy? Either way, this response is hard to understand.

    Hmm, unfortunate.

The location, Facility, and Onsen all exceeded expectations. The service was generally good, but there was one very disappointing thing. The breakfast buffet venue. It was quite empty since it was the off-season. Although the service was until 9:30, I was the last person to leave, around 9:15, after leisurely enjoying my meal. A floor staff followed me, and I thought they were seeing me off, but as soon as I stepped out of the store, the door closed with a snap behind me. Regardless of saying goodbye, couldn't they have at least waited until I reached the elevator hall? It was disappointing at the very end.

It would be even better if there were services typical of a mountain lodge.

Close to Asahidake, it creates a very good atmosphere for climbers and elevates the mood. The room also had a mountain lodge style, which was pleasantly aged and calming. The only regret was the manual-like response. I tried to send my climbing sack home by courier, but I had an unpleasant experience for a little over five minutes. There were golf courier bags available (even though there is no golf course nearby), but I was stubbornly refused because the purpose was different, leaving me stranded. In the end, there was a suitcase courier bag available, so I was able to use that (I wish they had told me that from the beginning if it was available). The dining room has a nice atmosphere, but it is not necessarily spacious, and the flow of the buffet was poor. I think it would improve just by guiding the direction. Nevertheless, it was such a nice atmosphere that I would like to stay again.

    This was my first ti...

This was my first time using this facility. I booked this room because I heard that you could get a good view of Mount Asahi from the window, but unfortunately, there was a large tree right in front, so I could hardly enjoy the view. I wondered if another room would have been just as good. The weather was very nice, so it was a shame. Also, the hot spring was very pleasant, but as is often the case with other inns and hotels, guests from China, Korea, and other countries were entering without washing their bodies and using towels in the bath without concern... It was disappointing that there were no warning signs. Other than that, the staff were kind, and the meals were good in terms of quantity, variety, and taste.

    The end was disappointing.

It was a very nice hotel with lovely rooms, and although the dinner was a bit small, the taste was delicious. However, at breakfast, my wife's omelet, which she chose from the Western menu, didn't arrive even after 20 minutes. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we asked a staff member, but received no response from them. A little later, someone who seemed to be the person in charge brought it. It was clearly not a dish that would take 30 minutes, so it seemed to have been forgotten. We were only told, "Sorry for the wait," but it left a bad taste. It made us feel extremely unpleasant. It's very disappointing because everything else was good.

    Dinner was.

I visit every year, and it's my favorite inn. I'm always satisfied with the hot springs, rooms, service, and breakfast. The disappointing part is the dinner. This time, I chose Japanese cuisine, but it seems to be getting more disappointing each year. The "Kariudo-yaki" is cooked while being exposed to smoke, so even though I felt refreshed after the hot spring, the smell clung to my entire body, and I had to wash my hair and body again before bed because of the odor. Also, since I have to cook it myself, including the hot pot, I can't relax. The heat control is also difficult. I feel the taste has declined compared to before. As a result, it was a dinner where I couldn't relax. The portions are large, and I wonder if it would be possible to prepare dishes outside the course, including Western cuisine. Please consider this.
