    Completely satisfied with the Onsen!

    The Onsen water quality was excellent, and there was also an open-air bath! The complimentary ice cream service and the well-stocked amenities like hair dryers and hair oil were great, making the stay very comfortable. We stayed as a group of three; one person had to sleep on a futon, and having to lay it out ourselves was a bit of a hassle—I wished the staff would do it. So I think it’s a good Hotel if you’re staying with two people. Breakfast is certainly high quality, but because my expectations were high, it didn’t quite impress me as much as I’d hoped. The exterior feels quite dated, but the interior is very lovely. It’s a bit of a walk from Hakodate Station, but it’s close to the Red Brick Warehouses, so I think the location is good! Since the breakfast quality was slightly disappointing, I may consider other hotels for my next trip to Hakodate.

    Everything is just right.

    The location and nearby amenities were excellent, and the Hotel met some of my key preferences—separate loungewear and a soft toothbrush. On top of that, coffee was always available as a welcome drink, the Onsen Facility was well equipped, and there were extra touches to enjoy (late-night soba). Overall, it was a Hotel that felt just right in every way. I also really enjoyed the breakfast I had been looking forward to; during my Multiple Night Stay, they varied the menu, which I greatly appreciated.

    A Luxurious Seafood Breakfast You’ll Love

    My first visit in eight years. I was looking forward to the luxurious breakfast with plenty of seafood, and the presentation, variety, and overall quality were excellent as expected. However, the bowl for serving the seafood rice was different from eight years ago and had become very small. I think offering both small and large sizes to match guests’ appetites would reduce the need for multiple refills and could also help avoid crowding. The lighting above the front desk was too dim, making it very difficult to read the documents explained at check-in. Not only at the front desk, but throughout the Hotel, I felt the lighting was too dark overall. I would like it to be a bit brighter.

    My First La Vista

    I’ve been traveling to Hakodate every year for about 15 years, but this was my first time staying at La Vista. Needless to say, the location is excellent, and the view from the Room was very satisfying. I’ve seen it on TV many times, but even at breakfast we were seated smoothly without much waiting. I’m thinking of going again once more before the end of the year. If you’re staying in Hakodate, I highly recommend trying this Accommodation at least once.

    I’d love to stay here again.

    Above all, the location is excellent. The Red Brick Warehouses are just nearby. You can walk to the Mt. Hakodate Ropeway station, and it’s also a quick taxi ride. There is Ramen Ajisai right in front of the entrance. The bath was clean, and the hair dryers included Panasonic and Dyson. We were also able to try out different shampoo and conditioner. After the bath, there were probiotic drinks and ice pops. We enjoyed salmon roe at breakfast and were very satisfied. My husband especially enjoyed the desserts. We’d love to stay again.

    Necessary and sufficient

    The Hotel feels a bit dated, but it is well cleaned, so it didn’t bother me.\nThere is complimentary coffee in the lobby and amenities are available.\nThe Onsen has a strong salt content, which really makes you feel how close it is to the sea.\nThe breakfast buffet was also very filling.

    Everything is great!

    The breakfast selection was limited, but each ingredient was high quality. As expected, the salmon roe was delicious, but this time I was surprised by how sweet the potatoes were. The not-too-salty salted squid paired perfectly with the potatoes’ sweetness and became a must during my Multiple Night Stay. There was only one slice of French toast left, and I was looking forward to seeing if more would come out, but it had been replaced with waffles, which was disappointing. The bed wasn’t too firm and was very comfortable to sleep on. The coffee was also great, and it truly made for a wonderful trip. I’d love to stay here again when I visit Hakodate! Thank you very much.

    The Onsen was very relaxing, and the breakfast was delicious.

    I stayed here with my wife. Although it is relatively close to the city center, it has an Onsen where you can relax, and the bathhouse amenities and services were excellent. The highly rated breakfast was crowded due to the number of guests, but every dish was delicious and I could really feel the high quality of each item. When I visit Hakodate again, I would definitely like to stay here, and I would also love to use other affiliated Hotels in other areas.

    The breakfast is lavish and very satisfying.

    I stayed for one night with breakfast only, as I was in town for the Hakodate Marathon. This was my second stay. I checked in around 19:00, so it wasn’t crowded at all. The large public bath was excellent—since it’s on the top floor, you get a beautiful view of Mt. Hakodate. Breakfast was just as satisfying as I’d hoped: a seafood bowl with unlimited salmon roe, omelets from the open kitchen, soup curry, and more—perfect for enjoying the Hakodate vibe. Expecting it to be busy, I lined up 30 minutes early and got in without waiting. It opened at 6:00, probably because of the marathon, which was very helpful. I’d love to stay here again when I visit Hakodate.

    About Cleaning the Large Public Bath

    On this trip to Hakodate, I stayed one night each at three Hotels known for their great breakfast, and the seasoning of the meals at La Vista was my favorite. The Room was also very satisfying, with large windows and a great view of both Mt. Hakodate and the Red Brick Warehouses. I also loved the Misuzu coffee provided in the Room, including the nice touch of grinding the beans with a mill. The only disappointment was the cleanliness of the large public bath. Perhaps because I used it during the bright afternoon hours, dirt and grime were noticeable in several areas. The worst part was under the vanity: when I went to dry my hair with a dryer, I happened to look down and saw lots of dust and long gray hairs that didn’t seem to have been cleaned up, which was unpleasant. If I had bathed at night, it would have been darker and I probably wouldn’t have noticed. There are many great points—such as a 24-hour FamilyMart, coffee available anytime in the lobby, and an all-night public bath—but it was disappointing that only the cleaning fell short.

    Open-air bath

    The meals were good, but the open-air bath was disappointing. On the men’s side, the water was too hot to stay in for long. On the women’s side, my wife said it was so lukewarm that no one used it. She thought it might be only at night, but went again the next morning and found it was the same, so she gave up. It was a shame we couldn’t enjoy the Onsen.

    Thank you for taking care of us on our second visit to Hakodate. As expected from a luxury Hotel, we were satisfied with everything. We plan to visit Hakodate several times a year, and we will stay with you again when we do.

    About Breakfast

    I was surprised by the wide variety of seafood. However, I felt there were not many other menu options. It was disappointing that the dessert and fruit table was small and located in a spot that was hard to notice. Everything was delicious, so I think it would help to add some decoration and clear illustrations to make it easier to find. The dining staff were pleasant, and I was able to enjoy my meal at a relaxed pace.

    The Onsen is amazing!

    I woke up early and watched the sunrise while soaking in the open-air bath. The self-serve seafood rice bowl at breakfast was delicious. The grilled dishes and local specialties were also excellent. You should definitely try the melon soft-serve for dessert—you can swirl it yourself. It’s also fun to compare it with the rich soft-serve next to it. The Hotel is in a great location, and it has become an Accommodation I’d love to visit again.

    I will definitely stay here again.

    Thank you for upgrading our Room. The large window felt like a picture frame, and we had a beautiful view of the bay area and Mt. Hakodate. The atmosphere in the Room was wonderful. The bath water was silky-smooth and incredibly relaxing. After walking around sightseeing all day on hilly streets, I felt completely refreshed by the next day (haha). We will definitely stay again.

    The Onsen is amazing!

    This was our 15th two-night, three-day trip to Hakodate, and we stayed at La Vista Hakodate for the first time. I had long known the breakfast was delicious, but the Onsen was especially wonderful. The open-air bath felt great with a pleasant breeze, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. 　Breakfast didn’t have an overwhelming number of items, but it was just right for us now that we’re past 60. The seafood rice bowl was excellent as expected, and the grilled scallops in their shells were so good I went back for seconds. 　The late-night soba was also a perfect portion and very tasty. 　It turned into a truly satisfying trip.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    I stayed here again on a business trip to Hakodate after a long time. Since it’s a bit far from the station, I hadn’t visited for a while. I was happy to be able to grind and brew coffee in my Room. There is also a great coffee machine in the lobby, and it was nice that guests can drink freely. The breakfast was luxurious, and I was surprised by how large the salmon roe was. I think it would be even better with a few more vegetable options. The Onsen and amenities were well maintained, and I was very satisfied.

    Staying at our Accommodation again after a while (Multiple Night Stay)

    It’s been about 7–8 years, but I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay. I visit Hakodate every year, but in recent years I’ve only stayed at Century Marina. I read the recent Reviews in advance, and honestly it really was disappointing. The elevator doesn’t come (the slowest in Japan). Breakfast and the late-night soba both have extremely long lines (this has always been the case, but there has been no improvement at all). I was shocked by how overwhelmingly few breakfast items there were. (The salmon roe and Misuzu were acceptable; everything else was poor.) The staff clearing tables at the breakfast venue kept wandering around and getting in the way. A young male front desk staff member was arrogant. The bath area is slippery (because cleaning isn’t thorough), and even though the view should be great, the windows are dirty so you can’t enjoy it properly. The Room also had torn wallpaper and other damage with no repairs. There is nothing left of what La Vista Hakodate used to be like. There’s a lot more I could write—such as inadequate training for part-time staff—but… it’s terrible. I stayed for a Multiple Night Stay with it burned into my mind that I will never come again. Since opening in 2008, my family has used this place extensively, so this is truly disappointing again and again.

    It was my first time staying here again in a while.

    It was my first stay here in a very long time. After your breakfast was named the best in Japan, I used to stay two or three times a year for several years, but I was drawn away by the wave of new services offered by newer hotels and naturally stopped coming. Then I received a very attractive offer from IKYU, and I returned for the first time in 10 years. While some aging of the Facility is unavoidable, it felt wonderfully nostalgic and made me genuinely excited to be back. The meals were just as delicious as ever—your salmon roe is truly outstanding, an overwhelming presence that no one else can match. I will be back again soon.

    We stayed for two ni...

    We stayed for two nights on a family trip. We made a Reservation for a twin Room on a high floor with a view of Mt. Hakodate. The Room feels a bit dated, but it was spacious enough for two. The window side is set up like a counter, so you can fully enjoy the Mt. Hakodate view. The amenities and Facility were well stocked, and it was great to be able to grind beans and drink fresh coffee. There were Misuzu Coffee machines in the lobby and the breakfast venue as well. The large public bath is open all night, so being able to use it almost privately late at night was fantastic. They also provided body cream and other items, which was very helpful. Breakfast gets quite crowded, just as mentioned in Reviews. We went at a later time on a weekday and still waited about 20 minutes. There was a wide variety of dishes—seafood, grilled items, and plenty of desserts—and the menu changed during our Multiple Night Stay, so we enjoyed it even over consecutive days. I think this Hotel is highly recommended for anyone who wants to pack Hakodate’s sightseeing spots into a short stay!

    Satisfied with No Meals Included

    This time, a long weekend in Hakodate. I usually stay at the International Hotel, but this time I chose this accommodation. The result? A great decision. I added the highly-rated breakfast, but the wait time was long, and the flow was quite inconvenient, so next time I plan to go with No Meals Included. The bath here is excellent. It exceeded my expectations! It would be nice if the spa's operating hours were a bit longer, but with such a large facility, cleaning might make that difficult? From now on, this hotel might become my regular accommodation in Hakodate just for its Onsen alone!

    The coffee beans and grinder in the Room were excellent.

    The breakfast lived up to its reputation, and we also enjoyed delicious coffee made with the coffee beans and grinder provided in the Room. We appreciated the attention to detail. The 24-hour availability of Misuzu Coffee was a great touch, allowing our coffee-loving family to have a comfortable stay. Thank you!

    I started reserving ...

    I started reserving a room on the Hakodate Mountain side during this season when Christmas trees are displayed, looking forward to the onsen and breakfast. The breakfast menu is abundant, and I always eat until I'm full. The late-night ramen is also delicious. I will visit again next year!

    There was dust accum...

    There was dust accumulated in the corners of the Room, and cleaning was not thorough. You have to lay out the futon yourself, but it was stored on a shelf above the TV, making it heavy and difficult. The Onsen was a bit too lukewarm. The breakfast, as expected from its past recognition as Japan's best, was all delicious.

    Mornings are tough.

    Stayed in Hakodate for 3 nights. 1st night: Yunokawa Onsen Hewitt 2nd night: Century in Hakodate 3rd night: La Vista Bay The most expensive accommodation was La Vista. The room was on the 3rd floor, and the view from the window was disappointing. No space to open a suitcase. Elevator wait times were excessively long. Queued for breakfast before 6:30 AM but got seated at 7:00 AM. Had to find and secure an available seat without guidance. Seafood was the freshest and most delicious of all meals during the stay, but I would not stay here again.

    We stayed as a family of four. We were really looking forward to the breakfast as it was famous, and it was indeed very delicious. The changing room in the large public bath was spacious and relaxing, and the view from the window was lovely. Soaking in a nice Onsen and taking time for skincare was absolutely wonderful.
