    Four consecutive years of stays

I have stayed during lavender season for four consecutive years. The staff member who handled check-in this time made an excellent impression. Their smile, courteous manner, and clear, accurate announcements were all perfect. As for the meals, both dinner and breakfast follow a similar pattern every year, which was disappointing. I would like to see at least some new menu items each year. Staff shortages are the same at every Hotel, but if a Hotel sets its Accommodation rates accordingly, I would like them to consider serving coffee or tea at breakfast time, even if only at the beginning. When staying repeatedly, there are some areas I would like to see improved; however, the check-in service was so good that I rated my overall satisfaction as 5.

The price doesn’t match the quality of the food.

Paying just under JPY 150,000 for dinners and breakfasts of this quality is unbelievable. I will never stay at this Hotel again, nor would I recommend it to anyone. I would also like IKYU to be more selective about the Accommodations it offers. Even if I go there to play golf, I will not stay at this Hotel.

    Furano Sightseeing

I stayed here as the first Accommodation on my trip to Hokkaido. From check-in, the staff were courteous and attentive, which made it easy to start my stay comfortably. The view of Furano from the Room felt wonderfully open, and I was able to relax and enjoy how the scenery changed throughout the day. The quiet surroundings were also a highlight. The meals featured local ingredients, and I could take my time dining in a calm atmosphere. The drink selection paired with the food was excellent as well, and I especially enjoyed Hokkaido wines. The property was very clean and comfortable. With a convenient location as a base for sightseeing in Furano and Biei, I think it’s an ideal Accommodation to begin a trip to Hokkaido. I’d love to visit again in a different season.

Stay with us on your Furano trip.

I stayed at Orika on my first trip to Furano. I knew it was a luxury Hotel, and both the Facility and service were excellent. I was satisfied with the meals overall, but I wasn’t happy with the seasoning of the fish dish. I stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room; the unique layout was nice, but the soundproofing was insufficient. What disappointed me was that I only noticed the Diamond member benefit wine placed in my Room right before departure, so I gave up taking it with me. At other Hotels, they told me about it in person and even served it during meals...

Thank you very much for your wonderful hospitality.

I stayed here on my first trip to Hokkaido in a while. I was extremely satisfied with the outstanding location, the cleanliness of the rooms, and the exceptional hospitality of everyone at the Hotel. The view from the open-air bath was also wonderful, and I would definitely like to stay here again. Thank you very much.

It was a wonderful accommodation, just as expected.

I read the property description and Reviews on the website, and I was excited from the moment I made my Reservation. We arrived a little early, but we were able to check in right away. However, perhaps because the staff member assisting us was still in training, they tried hard to explain everything but did not smile, spoke rather quietly, and sounded monotone. My husband, whose hearing has been getting a bit worse lately, said he “couldn’t understand anything.” The welcome drink really soothed our tired bodies. The large windows offered a great view, and the fireplace created a lovely atmosphere. That said, it’s inconvenient that from the chair seating area you have to either pass through the sofa seating or take a long detour around to the front of the fireplace to reach the drink counter. Guests seated on the sofas had to move their legs each time I passed by; if I were sitting there myself, I wouldn’t like it. Also, it would be nice to have some light snacks such as cookies. A whole manju is a bit heavy when dinner is coming soon. The Room was spacious with large windows and felt very comfortable. Having TVs both in the living area and by the bed was also a thoughtful touch. However, when I tried to check email late at night, I couldn’t connect to Wi‑Fi. Since it was only for a short time and it was late at night, I didn’t contact reception—but it still wasn’t working in the morning. I forgot to mention it at checkout and also forgot to write it on the survey form, so I’m writing it here. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Not only were the dishes excellent—the bread was wonderful as well. At dinner I got too full from the meal and left half of my bread behind; at breakfast I asked for seconds of my favorite raisin & walnut bread if possible—ideally I’d love to try every kind. In another Hotel we stayed at before, breakfast bread for each guest was served in a basket along with takeaway bags so you could bring home what you couldn’t finish. Since that Hotel also included all in-room drinks in their pricing as well, we would be happy if you could consider something similar. The open-air bath attached to our Room was impressive—and as someone with chronic health issues, I truly appreciated having it. But since we were there anyway, we went early in the morning to try out the large public bath; there were no other female guests at that time so we enjoyed having it all to ourselves. It was reassuring that bringing bath towels into outdoor baths is allowed; however wet bath towels become heavy and are hard wring out properly after use—so having bathing wear or lightweight wrap towels would be helpful. If given another opportunity, we would definitely like stay again.

Even when there are no guests...

I recently stayed here through IKYU. Even though there were few guests, I was truly impressed by the heartfelt hospitality. I was genuinely surprised by the thoughtful attention to detail—it wasn’t just superficial service. I’m already planning to stay again.

A Hotel Adjacent to a Golf Course

    1. At checkout, about four staff members were idly standing at the reception desk, but none assisted with loading luggage into the car or seeing us off. 2. The bath is not an Onsen. The outdoor bath was noisy due to waste duct sounds, making it hard to relax, and it is only available until 8 AM. 3. Meals, both breakfast and dinner, were excellent. There was a skilled chef, and the service was pleasant and well-balanced. 4. The view is fantastic; however, the room is small and not cost-effective for its price range. 5. Not inclined to visit again.

    The meals were excellent.

This was my first visit. The Room was quite spacious, making my stay very comfortable. Above all, the meals in the morning and evening were excellent. Dinner was creative French cuisine on the top floor, while breakfast was served in the front lobby—Western-style on the first day and Japanese-style on the second day. Both were extremely delicious and satisfying.

Furano Resort Orika is exclusively designed for golf enthusiasts.

I stayed for sightseeing purposes, but the hotel is designed specifically for golf users, so we couldn't find any benefits as guests staying only for accommodation. It seems there were some things we should have checked on the hotel's website in advance. Reservations are required to use the restaurant. Same-day reservations at the restaurant are not possible. At check-in, the front desk provided us with information about nearby restaurants and presented a list. However, I wish they had offered concierge support to arrange restaurant reservations as well. We ended up calling all the listed restaurants one by one and eventually dined at a restaurant 30 minutes away by taxi from the hotel.

Resort Hotel with a View of the Tokachidake Mountain Range

The highlight of Orika is the breathtaking view of the Tokachidake Mountain Range from its wide-open windows. While the summer sunlight can be too strong in the morning, creating silhouettes, the scenery from afternoon to sunset is truly spectacular. Meal times can be arranged according to your check-in time. Dinner was served in just the right portions for us as a senior couple and was delicious until the very last bite. Although the large public bath is not an Onsen, it offers a spacious changing area and bathing space due to its location next to a golf course. Soaking in an open-air bath while gazing at Tokachidake from Furano is simply amazing. The staff are dressed professionally, befitting a Resort Hotel, making it one of our top three favorite accommodations. This year’s heatwave meant that Farm Tomita's lavender had already withered during our visit; however, during our previous stay, we were able to visit right after breakfast and enjoy peaceful lavender fields and colorful flower gardens before they became crowded.

    Everything is excellent.

The cuisine, service, room, and view were all perfect. I completely understand why there are so many repeat guests. There was absolutely nothing to complain about, but if I had to mention something, it would be that the restaurant staff could smile a bit more (perhaps they were aiming for a calm and composed atmosphere, but I felt there were fewer smiles). That said, the ingredients used in the meals were top-notch. Although this was just a one-night stay, I would gladly stay for two nights or more next time. Thank you very much!

The service was excellent, and I felt comfortable. The room was generally fine in terms of layout and size. However, the furniture, including the cabinets and armchairs, felt outdated and should be replaced. The lobby was beautiful and in a nice location on top of the hill. However, there were very few facilities, and most of the hotel seemed golf-oriented. There was nowhere to walk outside; the golf course was off-limits; and in such a secluded location, there is really nothing to do other than stay in your room or take a taxi elsewhere. The windows could not be opened to let in the cool summer air, which was a pity. The terrace was also closed, making it difficult to enjoy being outdoors without playing golf here. I had food poisoning before my stay and requested that no sashimi be served and that all meat be fully cooked. This was confirmed at check-in, but at dinner they still seemed unaware of it. The food at both breakfast and dinner was very good.

Requesting suggestions for two French restaurants.

I booked a 1-night dinner included plan for a 2-night stay. Based on the price, I assumed the dinner would be at Orica's top French restaurant, but it was at the first-floor restaurant. There is another restaurant on the 10th floor, which turned out to be the top French one. I didn’t see an option to choose between them on the website, and upon arrival, I was informed that dinner would be on the first floor, so I thought that was my only option. The first-floor restaurant had live music and delicious food but was more family-oriented with many children present. Next time, I’d love to try dining at the 10th-floor restaurant—how can I book such an accommodation package? It would be helpful if this information were clearer online. The view from my room was fantastic, the bed was comfortable, and the open-air bath in the large public bath area was unique and enjoyable.

Dinner accompanied by classical music was exceptional. The delicious cuisine was packed with the charm of Hokkaido. The view from the Room was also fantastic. As it was a trip with my daughter without a car, we were grateful to be picked up at Farm Tomita after its closing time. Next time, I would like to visit with my husband for golf.

A Hotel That Brings Peace to Your Heart

Stayed for the third consecutive year during lavender season. This time, I was able to reserve a Deluxe Twin Room and had a pleasant stay. The view from the two windows in the room reminded me of the grandeur of Hokkaido's vast landscape. The large public bath is not an onsen, but it features a jacuzzi, sauna, and open-air bath. From the large windows in the public bath and directly from the open-air bath, you can see flower fields that provide a soothing experience. Dinner was at Restaurant Orika with live music performances. The restaurant has high ceilings and spacious windows, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. Live performances during dinner included flute and piano sessions (starting at 6:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 8:30 PM for about 30 minutes each). The selection of well-known songs and tracks by singers from Hokkaido showed great consideration for guests' enjoyment. Both dinner and breakfast showcased elements unique to Hokkaido (though portions might be too large for some women...). After breakfast, I visited Tomita Farm (about 5-6 minutes by car from the hotel) before returning to refresh with a shower prior to check-out time. From check-in to check-out, it was truly relaxing—one of my favorite hotels!

    Mostly satisfied

The view from the Room on the top floor was amazing. The staff were very polite and attentive, which made me happy. The price is a bit high, but I think the service matches the cost. One point of concern: The smoking area. The table I was guided to during breakfast was in sight of people smoking, which made me feel unwell and unable to eat much of my breakfast. If possible, I would like the smoking area to be relocated.

    We chose this Hotel ...

We chose this Hotel as our accommodation for our trip to Hokkaido, with the main purpose of visiting Tomita Farm. The farm is about a 7-minute drive from the Hotel, allowing us to enjoy the lavender fields during sunset on the first evening and sunrise the next morning. The view from our Room was breathtaking, with an amazing full-window design. Additionally, both the quality and quantity of meals exceeded our expectations. Although we brought golf equipment just in case, we decided not to play due to unusually high temperatures for Hokkaido and hope to try next time. The staff were kind and attentive, which made us very happy.

It was a very lovely accommodation.

We stayed in a Deluxe Twin Room with our family during the recently reopened Golden Week, and although I don't play golf, it was a very satisfying stay, prompting me to write this review. The hotel is adjacent to a golf course, offering stunning views and a sense of openness from the large windows in the room. Not only was everything impeccably clean, but the quality of the room wear, the selection of tea provided in the room, and even the drinks in the refrigerator were thoughtfully curated—adding stress-free comfort and earning high points. As someone who enjoys live music performances, I truly appreciated how they created warmth and an elegant atmosphere that only live music can provide; I hope this continues. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious; however, breakfast stood out as particularly well-thought-out with table service for Western-style meals exceeding my expectations—it was highly satisfying. While hotel stays can sometimes be affected by other guests' behavior (which is beyond control), everyone at both the restaurant and public bath displayed excellent manners, making for an extremely pleasant experience overall. If we have another chance to visit Furano again someday, we would definitely love to return—perhaps during a season when more flowers are blooming!

The spectacular view from the Room's window is wonderful.

Stayed for two nights around the time the autumn leaves began to change. [What was good] - The view from the room window was amazing! It was wonderful to relax in the room while enjoying the scenery. - The breakfast was luxurious. I was happy to have Japanese-style breakfast on the second day. - The large public bath was clean and nice. The open-air bath seems to have a good view in the morning. At night, it's pitch dark (but you might see stars). [What was average or bad] - The dinner was just okay. During the two-night stay, the first part of the course changed, but the main dish was the same, with a choice of four types. - The overall hospitality was so-so. They did the minimum required. - Before arrival, when I called to inform them of a late check-in, the person who answered, who sounded like an elderly man, spoke informally. This gave me the worst impression of the property before even arriving, and on the way there, I felt down thinking, "Did I really pay nearly 150,000 yen for this place?" - The breakfast was generally luxurious and delicious, but there was one point: the cheese on the gratin-baked potatoes had an incredibly bad smell. (Not just mine, but my family's too.) I think it would be better if the staff regularly tasted and checked the food. - As is often the case, the men's plates had proper ingredients, while the women's plates obviously had fish scraps, which made me think I wouldn't be coming back. The spectacular view from the window was unparalleled, but given similar conditions and price range, there are better properties, so I won't be returning.

    I stayed here again.

There is no hotel in Furano Biei other than Orika. This is my second time staying here. The scenery is outstanding, and the service is impeccable. We upgraded our meal and dined at the top-floor restaurant, and the course was very satisfying. It would be appreciated if the amenities for women could be enhanced.

The view from the room is amazing.

This is my sixth visit from Tokyo to Furano. I have always wanted to stay here, and this time I finally did. I was overwhelmed by the spectacular view from the 8th-floor room, overlooking Nakafurano, Kamifurano, and beyond that, the Tokachi Mountain Range. The meals were carefully prepared, and the live music created a wonderful atmosphere. I look forward to another opportunity to visit.

This hotel is truly amazing! I'm very satisfied.

I am a repeat visitor! I think this hotel is top-notch in terms of service, rooms, and food. The lavender scent wafting from the front desk to the room, the flower fields visible from the open-air bath, and especially the sea of clouds that appear from early morning at sunrise are the best. Some may find the price a bit high, but I believe you will be absolutely satisfied. Of course, the food is also excellent. I highly recommend this place for couples!

An accommodation where you can feel hospitality.

I made an inquiry over the phone at the reservation stage, and the staff was very kind, making me look forward to my visit. From arrival to departure, both the front desk and restaurant staff warmly greeted us. My husband made a selfish request regarding our restaurant seating, but they responded sincerely, for which I am very grateful. After a 7-hour drive from home, an 18-hour ferry ride, and another 3-hour drive, we finally arrived at the inn, completely exhausted. However, the view of Furano from the large windows at Orika was superb, the food was delicious, and it became a delightful first night of our trip to Hokkaido. Thank you to all the staff.
