A traditional Ryokan
I wish you had asked about wasabi for the sushi. The futon was very thin and had stains. I wish there had been a mattress… The floor cushions also had stains. The lack of cleanliness was disappointing. I have mild atopic dermatitis, so I try to be careful, but it made me feel uncomfortable.

I travel to enjoy free-flowing hot spring baths and delicious meals, and I like visiting different Onsen. This Accommodation satisfied me on both counts. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

It was a wonderful stay.
This time we stayed in the VIP Room and enjoyed the premium kaiseki dinner course. The Room was very spacious, the garden was beautifully maintained, and the private open-air bath attached to the Room was excellent. All of the staff who assisted us were very kind, and every dinner dish was carefully prepared and truly delicious. Breakfast seemed to be the same for all courses, but since we can’t eat much in the morning, we personally appreciated that it was on the lighter side. We also visited the large public bath, but we noticed towels left at washing stations that were not being used and some guests reserving spots. We think it would be even better if there were guidance on how to use the facilities in languages other than Japanese. Access was convenient—about a 7-minute walk to the streetcar stop. By taxi or car, you can reach major sightseeing spots in about 15 minutes, so if you don’t have a car, using both the streetcar and taxis makes it easy to get around. It was a 5-minute drive from the airport, so being able to leave our luggage before/after our stay was very convenient. If we have another opportunity, we would love to stay again for about two nights in a VIP Room with the premium dining course. Thank you very much.

Changes in the flavor of the food
I’ve stayed here several times, but this time the dinner tasted different and seemed less well-prepared than before, so it wasn’t very good. Did the chef change? The Onsen was still excellent.

It was a comfortable base for two nights of sightseeing in Hakodate.
Our family of four, including a junior high school student and an elementary school student, stayed for two nights. The number of staff seemed minimal, but the service was appropriate, and the Facility was well maintained and comfortable. We had breakfast only (no dinner), and it was very delicious. It was great to be able to go out at night, including to see the Hakodate night view. In the morning, sunrise is early and there is plenty of sunlight, so the Room becomes bright from an early hour; this was a slight inconvenience for our family who likes to sleep in, but it wasn’t a big issue.

Very disappointing.
I don’t usually write a Review, but I’m posting this in the hope it will help improve your service. On the last day of my trip to Hakodate, I stayed in the VIP Room “Fukuju.” I understand that members of the Imperial Family have also stayed there, and the Room was spacious and spotless. The private hinoki indoor bath and open-air bath attached to the Room were also truly wonderful. However, what was extremely disappointing was the service at dinner and breakfast. (Dinner) - I knew it would be dining in a shared venue, but there were no partitions from other guests at all, so there was zero sense of privacy. - No one came to take any drink orders. - Even when I called out several times, we were completely ignored—perhaps they didn’t notice us. - Only the food kept coming out one after another, while drinks took a long time to arrive. - There was no explanation of the dishes. - Water was self-service. - There was no confirmation of breakfast time; I had to call the front desk from my Room to confirm. (Breakfast) - There was no greeting or seating guidance; we simply sat in the same place as dinner. - Not only drinks but even rice were self-service. *I couldn’t help but laugh bitterly.* - While we were eating, staff noisily cleared things away right beside us. - And of course, there was no send-off. Even considering it was during Golden Week, with pricing set at over 150,000 yen per night, this level of service is honestly unacceptable. Given how poor it was, I regret not ordering in-room dining or private-room dining separately. *That said, I also can’t understand charging an additional fee at this price point.* I have stayed at high-end Accommodations dozens of times before, but this is my first experience leaving me feeling this disappointed—so it became an unfortunate lesson. The Room may indeed be high-class, but I believe you should treat your service standards with a greater sense of urgency.

It turned out to be a very satisfying birthday party.
We stayed here to celebrate my father’s birthday. Even with a last-minute request, the staff kindly accommodated us and provided a baby chair, which allowed us to relax and enjoy our time. My father was happy that it became a memorable birthday. Thank you very much.

I was able to relax and enjoy a quiet stay.
I revisited this Accommodation after staying here 25 years ago. When I looked at the photos on the website while making a Reservation, I naturally thought it might have aged, but that wasn’t the case at all. Everything was very clean and it was much better than the photos. Above all, every meal—both breakfast and dinner—was delicious, and I was completely satisfied. The baths include an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and the water was excellent. Some hotels have many different baths, but with too many options you end up trying to do everything and can’t truly relax, so this felt just right. All of the staff were pleasant as well. I was able to stay quietly and slowly in a luxurious atmosphere. In a Review, someone wrote that they were surprised their futon had already been laid out at check-in, but since the Room is spacious it wasn’t an issue at all—in fact, I think it’s better than having staff come in later when your luggage has made things messy. I hope I can visit again.

Unfortunately...
I made a Reservation because the Reviews were good, but it wasn't as great as expected. The Hotels I booked through IKYU before were both excellent, but this time was disappointing. I'll consider it as a Business Hotel with an Onsen.

Bath
No towels or bath towels in the bathroom. I was looking forward to grilled Kinki fish, but it was thin and barely edible. There was hardly anything to eat on the fish. I will not be returning.

The food was disappointing.
The Room was clean and spacious. However, the cuisine, which we had been looking forward to, was completely different from the previous meals at Chikuba. It was very disappointing. The staff seemed to be short-handed but were doing their best to provide service. The dining area felt like an unsettled banquet hall, which was surprising.

Calmness
This was my first time staying here. I had a one-night stay with breakfast included, and it was very delicious. We were saying how we'd love to try dinner next time as well. The bath was always private, and I never encountered anyone else—such a relaxing experience! I felt clear and refreshed during my stay.

The natural hot spring and breakfast were excellent.
The Room is a bit dated, but the rich hot spring water and the excellent breakfast were wonderful.

Luxurious layout for relaxation and comfort
Due to its proximity to the airport, I stayed at an accommodation in Yunokawa Onsen. The room was a Japanese-Western style with a large bed and a spacious tatami area, making it convenient for organizing luggage and checking souvenirs. The private bath was large, with two sinks and a separate toilet. The onsen on the first floor featured natural hot spring water flowing directly from the source and included an open-air bath. However, it was disappointing that there were no handrails for the open-air bath, making it inaccessible. Breakfast was prepared entirely by the staff, featuring dishes with delightful dashi aroma that suited my taste perfectly. However, many of the side dishes (such as salted squid guts, Matsumae pickles, raw cod roe, vinegared mozuku seaweed with salt, and salted salmon) were quite salty—tempting me to drink alcohol in the morning! Younger guests might find themselves refilling rice repeatedly while enjoying these flavors. After finishing breakfast, I regretted not including dinner in my stay. Although this is a large hotel, there are few staff members available; guests need to carry their own luggage which can be challenging for elderly visitors. There were no attendants at either the parking lot or entrance area; however, this simplicity felt refreshing and pleasant in its own way. At reception—staffed by one young person—I received precise information when asking about trees near the entrance. As mentioned earlier regarding meals—the service provided during necessary moments was attentive yet unobtrusive—making my stay comfortable overall!

The room was spacious, quiet, and comfortable. The quality of the Onsen water was excellent, and we were very satisfied. The food was served in just the right portions and was delicious. If I visit Hakodate again, I would love to stay here.

The meals are great! But...
Upon arrival, there was no assistance provided even when parking the car in front of the entrance. When I went to the front desk to ask where to park, I was only told verbally to park in any available spot without any guidance. There was no escort to the room, and upon entering, I found that the futon had already been laid out, making it difficult to relax comfortably. The amenities were quite basic for a hotel in this price range. While the room was clean, signs of age were noticeable in some areas. The Onsen temperature suited my preference and was enjoyable. As for meals, since we opted for an upgraded plan, every dish was exceptionally delicious.

It was the accommodation I chose for my first trip to Hakodate, but...
I stayed here during Golden Week. The check-in process felt a bit cold. I was told to select amenities next to the front desk, and no one helped carry my luggage to the room. The Facility overall had a dark atmosphere, which felt slightly unsettling. However, the Onsen had good water quality. The Room was spacious and clean, but being a corner room made it far from everything. My stay included dinner and breakfast, but dinner was disappointing in parts—especially the sashimi and seasoned rice were underwhelming. As it was my first time in Hakodate, I chose a relatively good Room and probably their best meal Plan; however, I didn’t feel it matched the price paid. I don’t think I would return again.

Celebrating 88th and 60th Birthdays
We stayed with parents, a grandchild, and a daughter. The grandchild recently started walking and seemed very happy walking around the spacious Room. One thing to mention is that meals were served in a large hall shared with other guests, which made it difficult to eat comfortably—that was the only disappointment. The staff were pleasant, and we had an enjoyable time. Thank you very much!

It was an accommodation I would like to stay at again.
We stayed in the VIP room for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The room had a luxurious design from the entrance, with a private garden, an onsen open-air bath, and an onsen indoor bath, allowing us to relax fully. The accommodation was so spacious that we almost got lost finding the restroom at night (laughs). Among accommodations in a similar price range, this was the first time we experienced such a large and luxurious room. On the first day, we enjoyed the Bamboo Miyabi course meal, and on the second day, we had the standard Kaiseki course meal. Both were exquisite and delicious. The staff were kind and made our wedding anniversary truly memorable. We would love to visit again during a season when flowers are blooming in the garden!

I feel so refreshed~.
We were able to check in early and quickly head to the bath... It was spacious, quiet, and we could relax in the hot water. The Room was also clean and spacious, and we could lounge around on the tatami mat area. Above all, the tea leaves were in a tea canister, and it was so delicious that I drank too much. Nowadays, many places use tea bags, so I was delighted to enjoy delicious Japanese tea. The meals were also delicious and excellent! I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

I don't usually write reviews, but...
During my first trip to Hokkaido, I stayed at your Property. I don't usually write Reviews, but I was so impressed with the wonderful Property, the meals, the hospitality, and the Onsen that I decided to write one. As an established inn where members of the imperial family have stayed, it was a very luxurious space with a beautifully crafted Stays down to the finest details. The meals were also very satisfying, focusing on ingredients from Hakodate and beautifully decorated. The Room I stayed in this time was called the guest suite, and it was a luxurious and calm space. It also had an open-air bath, allowing me to relax all day. I would like to use it again when I visit Hakodate. Thank you very much.

I was able to spend a relaxing time.
I arrived 30 minutes earlier than planned, but I was shown to my room. It was a convenient room next to the bath, so I could go to the bath immediately. After checking in, I went to Yukawa Shrine, and the staff taught me various things, so I had a very fulfilling time. I would like to stay again when I visit Hakodate.

As expected, the Ryokan where His Imperial Highness Prince Hitachi stayed.
My grandmother passed away, and I suddenly had to go to Hakodate for a three-day weekend. All the reasonably priced Business Hotels were fully booked, so although it was a bit expensive, I stayed at this Property for two nights. When I drove into the Ryokan's parking lot, the staff welcomed me, and I was able to check in smoothly. I had made a Reservation for check-in at 3 PM, and even though I arrived around 2:30 PM, they allowed me to enter the Room early. The Room was on the 4th floor, Yuugiri (12.5 tatami + 6 tatami). It was a very clean and spacious Room, and outside, I could overlook the garden built on the rooftop of the south building. My mother, who was exhausted, smiled and spoke to my grandmother's portrait, saying, "I'm glad we could stay at a nice Stays together," making it a stay worth more than the price.

Quiet Onsen Ryokan
Located in a quiet area, this property allows you to relax and unwind. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious and helped relieve the fatigue of the journey.
