    I woke up around 3:0...

    I woke up around 3:00 a.m. and, lying down while looking at Kinko Bay and the crystal-clear starry sky, I saw shooting stars one after another—more than a dozen. It was the first time in my life I had ever seen so many. The walk to the Hotel, the atmosphere in the lobby, and the pool’s blue lighting all felt like being somewhere outside Japan. Since we stayed as a family of three, it became a wonderful memory and we were able to truly relax. Thank you very much.

    A lovely Accommodation in the forest

    A Bali-style villa stands on a vast property. It even has a pool and is truly wonderful—I never imagined there would be an Accommodation like this in Ibusuki. Just taking a walk around the huge grounds was a delight. The pool is nicely deep, and there is an open-air bath right next to it, so we had a great time going back and forth between the pool and the bath. The meals were also thoughtfully prepared and excellent. It’s a place I would definitely love to visit again.

    I felt a bit uneasy ...

    I felt a bit uneasy at first because the Accommodation description mentioned insects and access... The access route takes you along mountain roads, and I wondered if we would really make it—but we arrived safely using Google Maps. It’s an Accommodation in the mountains, and it was refreshing to spend time surrounded by nature, with birds even coming by. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed local Kagoshima dishes. We also used the open-air bath in nature many times and were able to relax comfortably. The staff were very attentive as well. Next time, I’m planning to stay in a different type of Room.

    Absolutely terrible (I left without staying).

    Because the reservation center has limited business hours, you can only reach them from 10:00 to 18:00 even if you want to contact someone. And even when you do get through, you are not connected directly to the Accommodation, so the operator does not seem to know much about the Hotel. I couldn’t get through by phone, so I asked on the day whether we could add one more person. The manager kindly said it would be tight, but that two people could sleep in one bed with Child Sharing Existing Bedding—however, we were still told to pay an additional adult fee of JPY 33,000. For reference, IKYU lists the Room as accommodating 1–3 guests. Even getting there was terrible. We drove a rented Alphard, but the road was so narrow that we were genuinely worried about scratching the car or having an accident. When we arrived at the Hotel, both our luggage and ourselves were taken to the Room by golf cart. Once inside, even locking the entrance door didn’t work properly, which made us worry about security. In the bedroom, despite paying for an additional person, there were only two sets of duvets and pillows for two people. It was a very cold day—there was even talk of snow in Kagoshima. If one person turned over in bed, it was obvious that the other would end up without a blanket. There was a thin blanket in the closet, but there was no explanation from staff at all. The bathroom is small and old (very old… and dirty). On top of that it is surrounded by windows on three sides; those windows are also old and with rubber seals hanging down, letting cold drafts in through gaps. The living room is also surrounded by windows—and with only vertical blinds it is cold. The open-air bath is larger than the indoor bath in our Room, but it was too cold to use. In conclusion: “It would be stupid to catch a cold here—so we decided not to stay and went home.” Even so, we were still made to pay JPY 33,000 for one additional person—despite not eating breakfast or using anything at all—and I want a refund. If this is what they prepared “as a favor” from the manager—and if this represents their standard—then I can only say it’s awful. Since I haven’t seen anyone post this level of detail in a Review before، I’m writing this so it can help anyone considering this Accommodation in future. You will regret going. I have never once left without staying at any Hotel before in my life. My mother is also extremely upset and cannot let it go. (Please keep my pen name private.)

    The path to the villa by cart feels like a journey through the jungle. Upon entering the room, you'll find your own private open-air Onsen and heated pool beautifully illuminated. Indulge in luxury as you soak anytime, morning or night, as much as you like. Read a book, sip some wine, take a nap, and relax in the open-air Onsen. Once thoroughly warmed up, take a dip in the pool to cool down to just the right temperature before stepping out. Enjoy tea while reading again and perhaps another nap. The staff are polite and kind, providing maximum support even for minor troubles—much appreciated. **Ratings Breakdown:** **Room & Amenities: ★★★** While clean overall, management of areas such as the showerhead in the bathroom was insufficient (-1 star). The amenities were better during my previous stay (-1 star). **Service: ★★★★** Friendly yet professional service that brings comfort and relaxation—not quite Ritz-level but heartfelt enough for 4 stars. **Onsen & Bath: ★★★★★** This is undoubtedly worth staying for—a one-of-a-kind experience deserving of 5 stars. **Facility: ★★★★** Including features like an attached heated pool within your room earns this facility 4 stars. **Dining: ★★★** While previously outstanding during my last visit, this time it lacked that same quality and did not feel worth its price (-2 stars). **Overall Satisfaction: ★★★★** Highly recommended for those looking to enjoy a long stay relaxing in their room. While it doesn't offer Ritz or Conrad-style luxury lounges, it provides an unparalleled opportunity to unwind amidst nature with your own private open-air Onsen and pool. *Additional Notes:* The facility's WiFi is weak—perfect for digital detoxing! Bring along books or download movies onto your tablet beforehand for entertainment. A multiple-night stay will leave you feeling refreshed with stress melted away upon returning home!

    Family-Friendly Accommodation

    The accommodation offers a family-friendly atmosphere with features like a ping-pong table and a garden swing. It takes approximately 2 hours from Kagoshima City, including traffic, and about 30 minutes more from the airport. The property is spacious, with large rooms providing excellent comfort. Transportation to the dining area is convenient as staff pick you up with a cart, making it easy even in rainy weather. There is a pool in the garden, and plenty of towels are provided for your convenience. The natural hot spring bath is truly impressive and highlights the charm of Kagoshima! Being surrounded by nature, small insects may occasionally be found in the pool or near the open-air bath; however, you quickly get used to it if you're not overly sensitive to such things. During my stay in Kagoshima, my eyes felt irritated—possibly due to volcanic ash—so having an air purifier might be helpful. As for meals... I would have loved an option featuring Satsuma chicken dishes. Considering the price, this facility offers great value for money. I would definitely like to visit again!

    It felt like a resort overseas.

    The staff were very kind. With a pool and bath, it was a wonderful place where you could enjoy yourself all day without going outside. The rental of muumuus to wear inside, free bite-sized ice cream, photo spots around the spacious grounds, and treasure hunts were activities that children thoroughly enjoyed. The cart for moving between Rooms arrived promptly and was very helpful. I would love to visit again!

    Villa 4 with an Asia...

    Villa 4 with an Asian taste does not offer a view of the Osumi Peninsula. If this had been mentioned, we would have chosen a Japanese-style villa instead. What a pity!

    The starry sky is beautiful as well.

    The sunrise from the Osumi Peninsula to the east is wonderful, but the starry sky at night is also beautiful. If you turn off the lights in the room, you can see the magnificent stars. Of course, it depends on the weather.
