    This is a very nice accommodation.

    Both the Room and the Onsen are wonderful, and the staff and the proprietress are warm and welcoming—every visit is truly relaxing.

    The three of us stay...

    The three of us stayed here on our first trip together. We were all worried about bothering each other with snoring and the like, but since it was a spacious corner Room, we were able to relax and enjoy a comfortable stay without any concerns. The food was also very delicious, and we were very satisfied.

    The open-air bath was incredibly relaxing.

    I stayed here to visit the Chibusan Kofun. The Room was excellent, with a bedroom featuring an open-air bath facing the Kikuchi River and an adjacent living room. The open-air Onsen was slightly warm, which felt perfect in the outdoor weather—I could have stayed in it forever. As I relaxed in the pleasant spring breeze, a small hawk or kite (I’m not sure which) flew by outside calling out, and it was incredibly soothing. When I bathed early the next morning, it seemed they had just heated it up—the water was hot, which also felt wonderfully fitting for the morning. Meals were served in a private dining room, where I enjoyed seasonal kaiseki cuisine and a tasting of local sake. The staff member who looked after me and the proprietress were both delightful to talk with, and thanks to them I had a wonderful time. If I’d had more room in my stomach, I would have loved to try the proprietress’s selected red wine as well. Personally, I really liked—and found interesting—the William Morris wallpaper in the Room’s toilet (made chic with a single-color scheme), as well as the wallpaper in the private dining room (perhaps inspired by Shosoin patterns), also kept chic with a single-color palette. This time I didn’t have enough time to visit the Eta-Funayama Kofun, so I’d love to return when I get another chance.

    I was able to relax.

    Although it was a Room with an open-air bath, we were told the water would be lukewarm, but it was inconvenient because we could not adjust the temperature ourselves. Also, at night the light in the open-air bath did not turn off and it was too bright.

    It was very comfortable.

    First, the temperature of the free-flowing natural Onsen in the Room was not too hot and very comfortable, so we enjoyed it many times. The food was also fresh and very delicious. We also appreciated your accommodating bedding for a family member with a down allergy. Thank you very much. There is a whisky bar on the first floor, and my husband, who loves drinks, was delighted. We would love to visit again.

    It was an amazing accommodation that exceeded expectations.

    The Room was very spacious and clean. The open-air bath on the balcony was also large, allowing for a relaxing experience. The food was delicious and extremely satisfying. I would love to visit again during chestnut season. This year, I gave up on purchasing chestnut dumplings due to the long queue.

    Yamaga The First

    I made a reservation just two days ago on a whim. During my time working in Kumamoto, I often stayed at Yamaga Onsen after company gatherings, so I was already familiar with the excellent quality of the onsen water. This time, I chose Seiryuso, the best in Yamaga Onsen, to enjoy a relaxing stay with two meals included. The morning river mist view from the room was enchanting. The meal was satisfying even though we only added horse sashimi and grilled eel to the basic course. The "Yamaga The First" whiskey from Yamaga Distillery that we had during dinner was exceptional and paired wonderfully with Chiyonosono sake. While there are many great aspects to mention, I believe the best part of this place is the bright smile of the proprietress. Next time, I'd like to visit their bar and hear about whiskey from their quiet yet knowledgeable owner!

    Worth every penny!

    The request to change the Room was promptly accommodated. I was 99% satisfied. The remaining 1% is due to the slightly sparse content of the Dobin Mushi.

    Onsen is the best!

    This was my second visit to the accommodation, this time to watch a special performance by Tamasaburo Bando. My first visit was in 2019, and I loved the atmosphere back then. Once again, during dinner, the hostess greeted us warmly, and all the staff members—from those serving meals to those at the shop and lobby—were kind and friendly, which I believe is one of this accommodation's charms. I enjoyed bathing in the onsen twice during my stay. While the building shows its age, it is well-maintained and clean. The onsen water is known for its skin-beautifying properties, leaving my skin smooth after bathing. If given another opportunity, I would love to visit for a third time!

    Seiryu-so Shikamon-tei: Enjoy Delicious Meals with Two Meals Included

    Solo trip. Reserved a stay at Seiryuso Rokumontei, a Hotel and Ryokan with breakfast and dinner included. The Japanese cuisine was thoughtfully prepared in terms of cooking methods, portions, and presentation, allowing me to enjoy it thoroughly with delicious sake until the end. The staff were very kind and attentive. Right next door is Chiyonosono Sake Brewery, where I purchased some exquisite Japanese sake to take home.

    Yamaga Onsen Seiryuso

    I was very satisfied - the room was a corner room. Thank you for upgrading my reservation from the city side to the river side. Excitement. The onsen was warm, allowing for a long, relaxing soak. I enjoyed having the massage chair all to myself. The footbath was warmer than the one in the park, and even after staying in for a long time, I felt warm and fell asleep. I was very satisfied with the surprising amount of food at dinner. Before dinner, I had a light drink in the room, then went to dinner and tried the boiled oysters. We spent time chatting in a private room, and the hostess had a wonderful smile. I had an unexplained stomachache, possibly from overeating, and it wasn't just me, another person too, and we both took turns rushing to the toilet, which continued until late at night, leaving us sleep-deprived. I remembered the effort put into the food and hospitality, and I am satisfied. I was surprised by the deliciousness of the breakfast rice, and while thinking I might overeat again, I ate it. I was completely satisfied with Yamaga Onsen Seiryuso (Yamaga Onsen Seiryuso).
