No repeat stay.
I stayed here after a night shift to rest before a live show the next day, but the pillow was far too thin and I ended up seriously sleep-deprived. Also, the Room was too dark. It’s not realistic to brighten the Room with only indirect lighting—I wanted a regular ceiling light. For me, the only real plus was the convenient location, so I probably wouldn’t stay again.

Before the typhoon
I had plans in Yokohama over the weekend, and since there was a chance the Shinkansen might be suspended due to the typhoon, I made an Accommodation Reservation here for the night before, just in case. However, just minutes before Shin-Yokohama, an earthquake occurred along the line and the Shinkansen service was suspended. An announcement said there was no estimate for resumption, and it truly didn’t seem like we would be moving anytime soon. Thinking I might not arrive at the Hotel until late at night or even early morning, I contacted you to explain the situation. You kindly told me to take care and that arriving at any time would be fine, which really put my mind at ease. When I finally arrived and checked in, your warm words—“You must be tired; please rest well”—were truly comforting. Unfortunately, because of the weather I couldn’t enjoy the view from the Room on the 31st floor that you had prepared for me, but I’ll look forward to it next time I visit Yokohama. Thank you very much for your courteous service.

It was convenient.
It was clean, convenient, and close to the Yokohama Line, subway, and Shinkansen stations. Compared with the extremely overpriced hotels around Yokohama Station, Sakuragicho Station, and the Minato Mirai area, the accommodation cost here is much more reasonable. With the weak yen making it hard to compete with wealthy inbound foreign travelers on price, this feels like a valuable Accommodation that I can still afford.

I stayed for multiple nights.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful—thank you. The location was also convenient. However, the bathroom was disappointing. The non-slip bath mat and chair provided for my mother seemed quite old and looked unclean. I also noticed visible black mold in the corners of the bathroom. I would appreciate it if these could be cleaned up before my next stay.

Mold in the bathroom is a problem.
The Hotel and Room feel somewhat dated. The view from the Room was excellent. However, the bath I was looking forward to for relaxing had mold, which was disappointing. I was shocked—more than I have ever experienced at any Prince Hotel.

I stayed here for a concert at Yokohama Arena, and the best part was how close it was to the venue. Even when I spent time in my Room, it was quiet and relaxing. I’d definitely like to stay here again the next time I go to the arena.

The Room facilities are old and worn out.
The good point is the location. I also thought their email support—such as accommodating my request to change to a non-smoking Room—was excellent. However, the Room Facility feels outdated. I have stayed here many times, and this time I stayed again after a long while because I had business in Shin-Yokohama, but the Room Facility is simply too old. There is no bedside power outlet—only USB-A. If you are staying here, please note that there are no outlets by the bed. Also, some of the younger staff spoke in a way that made me wonder if they were talking to friends. I was surprised. The building is quite old overall, and the bathroom felt disappointing. Even though I was upgraded, my stay overlapped with Golden Week and a live event so the price was more than double the usual rate, which made it all the more disappointing. At minimum, it would be nice if they could improve something as basic as adding power outlets. On the second day I moved to another Room, and the toilet paper holder was positioned so far away that I had to twist my waist to reach it. Maybe it can’t be helped due to the layout? There’s a high chance I’ll choose somewhere else next time.

Air purifier
There was no air purifier in the Room, which is unusual these days. To prevent my throat from drying out, I left the bathroom door open, but it didn’t help much.

Overall, I was satisfied.
Compared with the excellent front desk service, the Room felt a bit old-fashioned. I never figured out where the switch for the stand light was. I wanted to use multiple electrical devices, but there weren’t enough outlets—especially disappointing that there were none around the desk area. The unit bath was easy to use, and having a place to sit was practical. I had a Plan that included beer, but rather than receiving it at reception, I would have preferred it placed in the Room refrigerator. Even if it cost a few hundred yen more, I still would have liked complimentary bottled water in the Room. That said, thanks to the reassurance of the Prince brand, I was able to rest comfortably.

Both the hair iron and hair dryer were from a brand I had been wanting to try, so I was glad I could test them out. The woman who explained the check-in process and looked after my luggage added a thoughtful word while assisting me, which made a great impression—I was truly moved by how personal her service felt, even though she was busy.

Unfortunately, a Hotel where I couldn't help but feel zero hospitality.
As a long-time user of IKYU.com since its inception, I have booked countless hotels through your platform. However, this is the first time I feel compelled to share my experience. To celebrate my daughter's "Coming of Age Day," our family, including her grandmother and myself, stayed at the accommodation. We booked three rooms for four people due to limited space and enjoyed the dinner buffet. The rooms were convenient as a waiting area. At checkout around 12 PM, the lobby was crowded with many guests in traditional attire. My elderly mother, who has difficulty walking and was carrying heavy luggage, made her way through the crowd to reach near the front desk. She sat on one of about 50 empty chairs (apparently reserved for limousine bus passengers). However, both a male staff member with apparent authority and a female concierge alternately told her she could not sit there unless she was using the bus. When we asked where she could sit instead, they directed us to benches located 30–50 meters away in an opposite direction from the exit—through a crowded area filled with other guests in traditional attire—which was impossible for my mother given her condition. This inconvenience lasted only about 5–10 minutes during checkout but left us deeply disappointed by such impersonal treatment toward someone who had paid significant accommodation fees. My mother even mentioned that if sitting there wasn’t allowed at all, they could have at least provided temporary seating nearby. Living nearby means we likely won’t stay overnight again; however, we had considered dining at their restaurant occasionally until this incident occurred. After this experience—and noticing even live kitchen chefs displaying unfriendly attitudes—it’s unlikely we will return unless absolutely necessary. I believe elderly guests are valuable clientele for any hotel and suggest providing hospitality training for staff members accordingly. While I understand it may have been challenging managing younger crowds today, applying strict measures equally across all age groups seems inappropriate. If possible, I would appreciate hearing directly from management regarding this matter via personal account communication. This stay left an extremely unpleasant impression—something unprecedented despite being a loyal IKYU.com user over many years.

A Yokohama Trip After 7 Years
I decided to stay here as I had always wanted to try this accommodation when visiting Shin-Yokohama. It is conveniently located about a 4-minute walk from Shin-Yokohama Station. I chose a room on the Sky View Floor and loved the bright and light-toned decor of the room. Being on the 37th floor, the view and night scenery were absolutely stunning. Although it was rainy on the day of my stay, which made for a slightly disappointing view, the next morning was clear, allowing me to see Mount Fuji in the distance, Minato Mirai from behind, and even Bay Bridge. I was also thrilled to watch Shinkansen trains running right below. Breakfast was served at a buffet restaurant on the 2nd floor where chefs prepared steak fresh in front of you—even in the morning! They also made omelets upon request. The breakfast was delicious as well. If you have an opportunity to visit Shin-Yokohama, I highly recommend staying here!

It was truly wonderful.
Over 30 years ago, I stayed here with my wife before we got married. Back then, I was so focused on her that I didn’t notice the atmosphere of the Room or the view from the window. Now, with a calmer mind, I was able to fully appreciate both the Room and the scenery. This doesn’t mean my wife has become any less beautiful—she is still as stunning as ever. Above all, I am deeply grateful for being able to spend such a comfortable and wonderful time here.

Comfortable.
When I went to the front desk to leave my carry-on case before check-in, I was informed politely that there were live events at Nissan Stadium for two days, making the hotel fully booked and resulting in many guests checking in. They also explained that check-in tickets would be distributed from 12:00 PM. Since I was attending the second day of the live event, I had anticipated some crowding, but thanks to their clear guidance on timing and procedures, I was able to plan my day with ease and move around comfortably. While the facility is undeniably a bit dated, there were no inconveniences during my stay. My room was on the 37th floor—I'm curious if the 38th floor is also guest rooms? There were frequent loud noises from above as if someone was running or dropping objects. It wasn’t an issue during nighttime as it became quiet; however, over both nights of my stay, these sounds were noticeable enough to catch my attention. The noise didn’t seem like cleaning activities either—if it’s a staff work area causing such sounds, a message like "Please note that noise may occur due to operational activities" would have been appreciated for clarity. If it’s caused by other guests’ actions instead of hotel operations, then naturally it's not something within hotel management's control. Overall though, I had a comfortable stay!

The Prince Returns After Decades
I stayed at this accommodation for the first time in decades. The room felt quite old, reflecting the passage of time. The staff were very pleasant and welcoming. However, there seemed to be a lack of communication in some instances, though this is not uncommon even at other hotels. The noise from guests on the upper floor was surprisingly loud—sounds of running and other disturbances continued past 1 AM. I considered calling the front desk but managed to sleep once it quieted down. In the early morning, due to a typhoon, creaking noises from part of the room woke me up and left me feeling uneasy. Although it was a non-smoking room, I could detect a lingering tobacco smell that made me feel nauseous—likely from when smoking was allowed in the past. I tried masking it with fragrance. The proximity to Shin-Yokohama Station is convenient, so I had considered staying again; however, it's unlikely due to my sensitivity to smells and sounds. This is just my personal experience as someone sensitive to such factors; others may find their stay comfortable and enjoyable overall. However, it might not be suitable for those who are similarly sensitive like me.

Waited for one hour to check-in.
Arriving at Shin-Yokohama Station just before 3 PM, I thought it was the perfect time to check in. However, upon heading to the front desk, I found many people seated on arranged chairs and was handed a numbered ticket by staff with a number in the 160s. The crowd mostly consisted of people wearing One OK Rock T-shirts, as their tour coincided with an event at Nissan Stadium that day, leading to significant waiting times. While it was possible to store luggage and delay check-in, I prioritized entering my room due to travel fatigue and waited until my turn. Eventually, the process was completed around 4 PM. It seemed likely that the Hotel knew about this situation during the Reservation stage. It would have been helpful if they had provided prior notice or suggested late check-in Plans during booking. Considering various events are frequently held in this area, there seems to be room for organizational improvement. The staff members were all very polite and left a positive impression; however, my evaluation of service reflects more on systemic issues within the Hotel rather than individual staff performance. As I stayed on a ladies' floor, amenities such as Sekkisei cleansing products (including lotion and emulsion) were provided—though facial wash appeared shared with hand soap—and thoughtful touches like a Kinujo hairdryer were appreciated. That said, some aspects of the Hotel's older design stood out—for instance, steps leading into bathrooms—which felt dated. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options and allowed for leisurely dining until 10 AM. Having access to coin laundry facilities was extremely convenient. Additionally, having a Seven-Eleven located right next to the elevator heading up to guest floors made small purchases very easy!

Room Noise
This was my second stay, and the staff's service was excellent. The breakfast was delicious, and the Chinese restaurant in the basement was also very tasty. Regarding the Room, it is sufficient for a single stay. However, as I currently have an injured foot, I thought it would be nice to have a handrail in the bathroom. Also, about the air conditioner noise? When I tried to sleep, there were cracking sounds like "bish" or "bash" coming from around the TV wall. It caught my attention and made me feel a bit uneasy... I don't think it was just my imagination. I wonder what it could have been...

Front Desk Trainee
Used for business. At check-in, the trainee at the front desk provided poor service. The explanation about the parking ticket was unclear and very stressful. While assisting, they were using a computer and glancing sideways for help from another staff member. A non-trainee staff member eventually came over, resulting in a situation where they were teaching the trainee while assisting me. In the end, it seems they gave me incorrect information about the parking ticket fee, which had to be corrected later. The amount did not match what should have been charged for two days. I decided to pay in cash instead of by card due to a bad feeling I had about it. Although it took some time, I received my change without issue. Next came an explanation of how to use the room key. Another trainee appeared quickly beside me during this process while creating my card key and exchanged words with their colleague under the counter—smiling awkwardly and tilting their head as if unsure of what to do next... It was slow progress overall! Though frustrated internally wanting things faster—I resigned myself patiently until finally receiving my card key. Breakfast details followed afterward; ending politely asking whether any questions remained unanswered? To which replied "No." Lastly... "Did we hand over your parking pass yet?" asked again by said front-desk-trainee moments before leaving altogether alongside keys already bundled together upon checking further realizing indeed present after-all! Despite everything almost voicing complaints ultimately refrained entirely given lack-of-attachment towards Hotel itself simply choosing instead move-onward entering assigned Room thereafter firmly deciding never return future stays ever again!

It was a good Hotel.
For a self-rewarding trip, I stayed at the Shin-Yokohama Prince Hotel, which I had always wanted to visit. The hotel is conveniently accessible from Shin-Yokohama Station, and the front desk staff provided excellent service. Before my stay, I inquired about the room's air conditioning as I was concerned it might be too cold. They explained everything very politely and even placed a blanket on the bed for me on the day of my stay—much appreciated! Both the guest room and shower room were clean and well-maintained. Thanks to this, I was able to relax comfortably. Having a 7-Eleven inside the hotel is also very convenient. I definitely want to stay here again!

Service quality decreases inversely with price.
The service may not be as attentive as before, such as helping with luggage to the Room unless specifically requested. The Facility also shows signs of wear over time. However, the price is now double. It is what it is.

A Relaxed Resort Hotel
Stayed on the women-only floor after visiting Yokohama Arena. The bed and bathroom were small, but since I had booked with that in mind, it was not inconvenient. The room had large windows that provided a sense of openness and offered a distant view of Yokohama. This time, thanks to good weather and the direction of the room, I could even see the Bay Bridge. The breakfast buffet venue on the second floor has tables where you can watch Shinkansen trains passing by (located at the far right corner upon entering!). The view from the windows was also enjoyable. (Special thanks to the staff who recommended those seats!) Food replenishment continued until just before closing time, so even though we started late and ate leisurely, we didn’t feel like we missed out on anything. This Resort Hotel offers amenities and services with just the right balance of comfort and distance. On my way out, I saw a group of students on their school trip. Staying at a Resort Hotel with classmates must be such an amazing experience—I silently cheered them on in my heart!

The most disappointing aspect was the taste of the miso soup at breakfast. After trying it on the first day, I didn’t touch it at all on the second and third days. Another disappointment was during check-out. I had planned to settle my restaurant charges beforehand and use the self-checkout machine to quickly catch my train, but an error occurred with the machine. This forced me to go to the front desk, where no explanation or reason for the issue was provided before being told everything was fine. Pressed for time, I couldn’t ask further questions and left feeling very dissatisfied.

Great location
It was a rainy day, and the ground was quite slippery. I used an umbrella briefly, but after passing through the Shin-Yokohama restaurant area, Prince Pepe, I reached the front desk without much trouble. Around 3:30 PM, check-in was organized with numbered tickets and proceeded in order. While the process was polite and orderly, the wait felt long (this may vary depending on individual perception and timing). Chairs were provided for waiting comfortably. After confirming details about the arena concert, we were informed about potential congestion and advised to move early with ample time—much appreciated. I wondered if there might have been a way to reach the arena from the second floor without getting wet in the rain; if so, guidance would have been helpful. Around 11 PM, it was disappointing that the lounge wasn’t open. A minor issue but worth mentioning—the curtain hook at the back right corner of my Room was missing. On a positive note, there were plenty of elevators that operated quickly even for higher floors, minimizing wait times significantly!

Surprised by the rapid price increase of hotels in Tokyo, I expanded my search and found Shin-Yokohama Prince Hotel. While some parts of the building feel dated, the guest rooms and water facilities have been renovated with modern equipment, and everything was well-cleaned, making my stay very comfortable. Even on a Saturday night, the pricing was reasonable, and the quality expected from a Prince Hotel was well-maintained, allowing for a worry-free stay. Thank you!

The rooms are too old.
The room was extremely old, with curtains showing significant wear and tear. It felt gloomy and depressing upon entering. The condition of the room was far from what the photos suggested, with peeling edges on the closet door hanging down sadly. While the bathroom was spacious and nice, overall, it was a disappointing experience compared to other Prince accommodations I’ve stayed at before.

It was excellent.
I stayed at the accommodation during a business trip. Although I was late for check-in due to unexpected delays, the gentleman who answered my call was very polite. The check-in procedure by the lady at the front desk felt a bit indifferent, but it seemed acceptable. The building appears to be old, but it is very well-maintained, and I absolutely loved the bath. Both the hotel and its view were wonderful; I would love to stay here again and recommend it to others as well. Thank you very much! The snacks were delicious too!

Not recommended.
Due to a flight delay from Haneda, I urgently reserved this accommodation. However, finding the air conditioning system broken in this day and age felt like staying at a hotel in a developing country. Considering the price range, this is unacceptable, and the indifferent attitude of the staff was disappointing. Hotels should consider guests who reserve accommodations to rest and recover. The lack of hospitality only added to my exhaustion. I have decided never to use Prince hotels again.
