    We had a relaxing stay!

    The food was delicious, and the service was pleasant. We were very satisfied with the gorge promenade and the Onsen. We would love to visit again in another season to enjoy seasonal cuisine, abundant Onsen, and a beautiful walk along the Tsusen-kyo gorge promenade.

    Everything was perfect—we were completely satisfied!

    We stay here every year—this was our third visit. The food is beautifully presented and delicious. What I appreciate most is being able to enjoy drinks in the lobby. The beer server, which wasn’t available until last year, was a welcome addition. We’ll be back again next year.

    The staff's service ...

    The staff's service was lacking. Upon arrival, we were rushed and guided in a way that made it seem like they wanted us to quickly go to our room. During dinner, there were two sudden instances of smoke filling the area, which was surprising. At breakfast, the staff's chatter could be clearly heard from our room. I visit Onsen frequently, but this was my first time experiencing such things. Another surprising incident was that there was no farewell send-off at the end of our stay. I thought to myself that I wouldn't come back here again. If it's going to be self-service hospitality, I believe the pricing should reflect that as well. I regret not choosing another Ryokan instead.

    I have visited multiple times to enjoy Chef Chuhachijuhachi's cuisine. This time, I enjoyed both breakfast and dinner. It was a bit disappointing that the delicious soup was slightly cold. However, overall, I was very satisfied. Thank you, head chef, for always providing delicious meals. Thank you to the pleasant staff for taking care of us.

    Even though it's decent,

    The staff is kind. The food is delicious but lacks volume. It was very disappointing that there was no consideration, such as a plate for dessert, even though there were overlapping celebrations. It was so disappointing that I felt sorry for the children who invited us. I thought it was rare for a Ryokan to have no consideration at all when there are overlapping celebrations. Although a red vest was prepared. I think the alcohol-free drinks in the lobby are very good, but it was a bit disappointing that there were only two types of snacks. The bath is clean and there is ice cream, which I think children would enjoy.

    Enjoy meals and tableware.

    Delicious meals and delightful tableware are the attractions. When I requested red rice for my mother’s 90th birthday, they prepared it with gold leaf on a small, cute tray. My mother was, of course, delighted, and my reputation might have improved too. Thank you very much. There were free drinks available in the lobby, and amenities in the room that weren't there before, making it more convenient than before. The only thing I missed was not seeing the proprietress or the room attendants in kimono who used to be there. It was a weekday, so they might be there on weekends. The male staff who came to greet us and the front desk staff, as well as everyone in charge of the meals, were all very pleasant. It was a cold, rainy day, but the delicious food and Onsen warmed both my heart and body. Thank you very much.

    Enjoyed the Yamanaka Onsen after a long time.

    I have visited Yamanaka Onsen twice before. More than 20 years have passed since then, but the impression of the Koorogi Bridge remains strong. The entrance of this Property is on the 4th floor, and the pathway from the parking lot is a stylish setup that leads guests into a Japanese-style space, with the lobby nicely arranged in a wooden tone. A wide variety of welcome drinks are available, from soft drinks to wine, whiskey, and local sake, and we checked in while observing the rice ears hanging on the rice racks that seemed to float in the air. The hospitality of the busy staff did not particularly leave us dissatisfied, the timing of the well-paced kaiseki was within an acceptable range, and the balance of the broth and the amount of food was just right for us as a couple. The overall spatial presentation, the arrangement of the guest rooms with an irori, and the Onsen Facility felt comfortable. Finally, this is not within the scope of the Property, so please take it as a reference opinion, but regarding the bamboo grove along the Daishoji River, it seems to be somewhat maintained. However, especially the bamboo grove in front of the Property could be thinned to about 1/2 to 1/3 of its current volume. I feel that the view from the guest rooms would be significantly improved. If the river manager is the national government, the prefecture, or Kaga City, the discussion might proceed quickly, but if it's private land, it could be troublesome. Also, regarding the removal of the abandoned accommodation Facility near the Property, couldn't the Yamanaka Onsen Tourism Association or Kaga City have applied for the high-value-added subsidy from the Japan Tourism Agency to remove it? This subsidy, which also applies to the removal of abandoned buildings, had a subsidy rate of 1/2... In any case, I felt that improving the landscape not only on the main street of the Onsen town but also throughout Yamanaka Onsen would enhance the overall quality. Just a side note.

    Room & Amenities I stayed in a room with an open-air bath. The room was spacious, and the bath was pleasant and enjoyable. However, while there were plenty of bath towels available in various places, there were not many hand towels, which was a bit inconvenient. Also, since tissues were only available in the washroom, it felt a bit inconvenient to use. Service The staff seemed to be working hard and had a good personality. There were many older staff members, and their voices were loud, so their private conversations were audible, but that was somewhat charming. Onsen & Bath It was extremely pleasant. Facility There were stains on the walls, and the courtyard seemed unkempt, which made the age of the property stand out. Dining Dinner was neither good nor bad. For breakfast, they prepared freshly grilled fish, but it was a part that I usually don't eat. It might not be worth paying several hundred thousand yen for the stay to eat that. Satisfaction The hospitality of the staff felt like returning to a countryside home, which was heartwarming. The room was also nice, so I would like to visit again someday.

    I was looking forward to it, but

    This time, I decided on my stay based on reviews and photos of the property. It was very disappointing, perhaps due to a lack of staff, as the hectic response upon arrival and the slow service of meals were quite frustrating. As it is indeed a culinary property, the food was delicious. However, although there were remnants of it being a good property in the past, it was disappointing that maintenance was lacking in some areas. The attentive service at Takitei in Kanazawa the day before, aiming to satisfy customers as much as possible, was impressive. Since it is a good property, I hope they strive for more consistent customer service. By the way, I had informed them that it was my partner's birthday stay, but we did not receive any congratulatory words. Furthermore, the person who prepared our meal had been assigned only two weeks prior and seemed to struggle with the service, which was unfortunate.

    I was very satisfied.

    The deliciousness of the meals, the comfort, and the wonderful onsen exceeded my expectations. I have become a fan of this property and Yamanaka Onsen. However, it was disappointing that there was no menu for the second night's meal, and initially, there was no explanation of the meal. I was looking forward to the second night's dinner as well. Also, the floor of the washroom and toilet in the room seemed like it might give way, which was scary. Nonetheless, I am very satisfied overall. I definitely want to use it again.     I was able to relax and unwind at my leisure.

    We visited during the off-season with a friend to relax and unwind. We were satisfied with the room, onsen, and meals, and were able to spend a relaxing time. The only disappointment was the lack of individual air conditioning in the room. It was unseasonably hot, and since the central air conditioning was already set to heating, it couldn't be used, leaving us uncomfortable after bathing. Although it's a difficult time to predict the temperature, having at least a fan would have made it perfect.

    A quiet and healing Stays.

    It was a quiet and elegant Stays. They were attentive and accommodating to our requests. The Room was spacious and allowed for a relaxing stay. The quality of the ingredients, tableware, and cuisine was high. Dining at the counter while enjoying the mountain view was a delightful departure from the everyday. The Onsen had excellent water, leaving the skin feeling smooth. Overall, it was a satisfying stay with thoughtful care without excessive service.

    I will visit again.

    Overall, I am satisfied, but the food was particularly good. The fish was delicious! I enjoyed all the seasonal and local ingredients. I rated the service a 4 because, although each staff member's service was good, I had to look for someone during check-in and breakfast as there was no staff around. I understand that there is a shortage of staff everywhere, but it made me feel a little uneasy. However, that was the only downside, and everything else was very good, so I will visit again.

    I used this accommod...

    I used this accommodation to coincide with my daughter's business trip abroad. The room was a combination of a Japanese-style room and a Western-style room, which made it inconvenient with many light switches and steps. The bath was also challenging as the sliding door of the open-air bath was heavy and noisy. The dinner and the self-service drinks available from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM were very good. My daughter seemed to be able to relax surrounded by the bamboo grove.

    It is a good ryokan.

    This was my first time staying here. The receptionist was a foreign lady, but her calm and elegant demeanor was lovely. (She also saw me off when I left. Thank you.) The room had a terrace, and the view of the bamboo grove was beautiful and wonderful. The night illumination was also pretty. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were delicious. The grandmother who served us was adorable. I hope she is doing well. The hot spring was small, but there was an open-air bath, and it was pleasant. The path to the hot spring was well-lit even at night, which made me feel safe. The guests staying there were mostly older, so I was able to enjoy a quiet and calm atmosphere. The view from the rice field terrace was also nice. Thank you very much.

    The white rice is excellent.

    The food was very delicious. Especially the white rice at breakfast, which was cooked to match the meal time, was exceptionally tasty when freshly cooked.

    The lighting in the large public bath...

    After dinner, when I went to the large public bath, only a small light in the washing area was on, and I soaked in the dark. When my family went at 11 PM, the lights were on, so it might have been forgotten to be turned on... There were elderly people there too, which is dangerous. The meal was boring, and it was unclear what the main dish was.

    Family trip!

    It was a one-night, two-day family trip with dinner and breakfast included! This time, we chose Kuriya Hachijuhachi looking forward to the meals. As expected, we were very satisfied with the taste, quality, and quantity. Also, we were able to relax at the drink corner and the hot springs. Thank you very much.

    I used it for the first time.

    An annual hot spring trip with friends. This time, we decided to prioritize delicious food over the quality of the hot spring water, so we visited here for the first time. Since it was scheduled for Monday and Tuesday after the summer rush ended, it wasn't too crowded, and we were able to relax at the inn. The meals met our expectations, and we finished both dinner and breakfast completely. They seem to be particular about their rice, as both the salmon rice cooked for dinner and the plain rice for breakfast were incredibly delicious. The hot spring was average. Although it doesn't matter to me as I don't drink, there were free alcoholic drinks like sake and wine available in the lobby, which delighted my companions.

    While searching for accommodations in the Kaga Onsen area for a work trip, I came across photos of the Inada Terrace and the bamboo grove view from the rooms at this inn and thought they were lovely. Many reviews also praised the food, so I decided to make a reservation. There were some communication issues via email, which made me anxious at times due to the large group reservation, but in the end, everything was arranged perfectly, and we received the best hospitality. Even the older participants praised my choice of accommodation. Although it's a bit of a walk from the center of Yamanaka Onsen, it's a distance that can be enjoyed as a stroll (it's cool as you pass through the Kakusenkei Gorge). The sake tasting at the free lounge was interesting, and there were various drinks available for participants who couldn't consume alcohol. The ice candy service before the bath was also fun. It was an inn that I would like to visit with my parents.

    We used this place for a family birthday celebration. The food was excellent. The ice cream after the bath was also superb! If I had to say, having a sauna would have made it even better.
