    It was quiet and relaxing.

    This Hotel is located at the top of a narrow mountain road. It was very quiet, and the soothing music playing throughout the Hotel made it even more relaxing. Unfortunately, it was cloudy, but if there hadn’t been any fog, we would have been able to see the horizon from our Room and enjoy an even more wonderful view. 　The meals were carefully prepared, and both the fish and roast beef were served with vegetables that paired perfectly with each dish—everything was delicious. The dessert was a yogurt mousse (I’m not sure if that’s correct), but it was excellent. We stayed as a family of four, including our son in his 20s, and everyone left feeling full—though we did ask for extra bread. 　We were told they host only three groups per day, and we were able to use the spacious private family bath as well. It was a stay that freed us from everyday busyness and truly felt like an escape. 　The interior furnishings throughout the Hotel were also thoughtfully arranged and had an elegant feel. 　If we have the chance, we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

    An accommodation you'll want to visit again.

    We stayed here to celebrate my 93-year-old mother's birthday. Although the location was a bit hard to find and we got lost in the mountains, we were relieved when someone came to pick us up and safely guided us to the accommodation. The guest room was like a private space with high ceilings and beautiful views, which was truly wonderful. The meals were delicious, made with fresh ingredients that brought out their natural flavors, and both my mother and husband praised them highly. Although the weather wasn't perfect, Masio-san's hospitality more than made up for it. This is one of the rare accommodations that makes you want to visit again. One small suggestion: it would be helpful if water could be placed on the table during meals so guests can serve themselves at any time.

    Overall, a highly satisfying experience. The view of the sunset from the room was stunning. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with generous portions that added to the satisfaction. With only three groups of guests, it was quiet, and we could use the private bath without overlapping with others. It would have been even better if it were an onsen. The room was stylish and elegant, but the handrail on the spiral staircase leading to the second floor was thin, making trips to the bathroom at night a bit scary. The road to the hotel is narrow with bumps when turning, so caution is needed. The staff were kind and helpful—highly recommended accommodation!

    The meals, both brea...

    The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were absolutely delicious and very satisfying. With only three rooms available, it was quiet and peaceful, and the room's atmosphere was lovely. However, one slight disappointment was the view from the hotel. Unlike what is shown on the website, there was no view of the ocean; instead, it was surrounded by dense trees. I wanted to step out onto the balcony but couldn't because there were spider webs with three large spiders right in front of me, which scared me off. Additionally, the bath was shared among all guests and not separated by gender, making it a bit inconvenient to use.

    A Charming Hideaway on Izu Oshima

    I stayed for only two nights, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. A workation-style stay might also be a good option. Since this accommodation accepts up to three groups per day, the private bath operates on a first-come, first-served basis. However, we were able to use the spacious bath at our preferred times—early in the morning and in the early evening after returning from trekking Mount Mihara—which was fantastic. The plan included breakfast, but I now think adding dinner would have been better as well. The food at this accommodation is truly delicious. Although it’s about 1.5 kilometers from central Motomachi, you need to climb a steep hill with no streetlights to get there, and there are no other houses nearby—it’s like a hidden retreat. Going out into town for dinner turned out to be more of a hassle than expected. It might be best to stay here with the intention of enjoying your time entirely within the accommodation itself.

    A stylish Hotel.

    We stayed for 2 nights as a family of three. With only 3 rooms, the accommodation offered a calm, tasteful, and quiet environment that was very comfortable. Breakfast was a well-balanced Japanese meal, and dinner (available by reservation on weekends) featured course dishes made with local Oshima ingredients and berries from the garden. The presentation was beautiful, and everything was absolutely delicious! We were lucky to stay during the Oshima Festival, so we could enjoy a great view of the fireworks from our room's balcony—an added bonus that made our stay even more satisfying. We would love to stay here again when visiting Oshima!
