    It was my first stay...

    It was my first stay in a while. A Room with an in-room bath had been added, and I could really feel the changes since my previous visit. Overall, it was very good. The meals were delicious, including Sendai beef and sea urchin, and the service was excellent (especially the male staff member’s attentive care). What was disappointing was that at dinner time, the staff were constantly moving around, which made it a bit hard to relax. I understand they were bringing dishes and free drinks, but it felt hectic—almost like being in an izakaya—which was unfortunate. Breakfast felt calmer, and I was able to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. The in-room bath itself was wonderful as well, but there was only one bath towel per person. One of the advantages of having an in-room bath is being able to use it multiple times during your stay, so having to manage both the public bath and the in-room bath with just one towel felt questionable. It was disappointing because this Accommodation otherwise showed thoughtful attention to detail. Overall, I had a relaxing stay.

    The Best Uni Course Ever

    I’ve stayed at many of Japan’s top-rated and well-known Accommodations, but I have never experienced an auberge that offers such outstanding value for the price. I will definitely return. The dishes were all excellent. The only disappointment was breakfast: the guest seated next to me along the counter was very loud, and it ruined what should have been a lovely morning from start to finish. I wish the staff had asked them to lower their voice. If that is not your policy, I would have liked to be able to choose my seat (I was placed in the middle of the counter). It was the noisiest breakfast experience I’ve ever had. At high-end Accommodations and auberges, guests are also paying for the atmosphere itself. I understand everyone has their own way of spending time, but if someone’s volume is loud enough that even staff notice it, then a gentle suggestion from the Accommodation is necessary. Even in luxury Hotel lounges in Tokyo, when someone is being loud, staff take appropriate steps to create and maintain the ambience. Thank you for your consideration. If shampoo is provided in the private bath, please also place a hair dryer in the changing area.

    It’s been a while since my last visit.

    I stayed here again for the first time in five years. The food and service felt much improved, which was a pleasant surprise. For example, the rice at breakfast was excellent—among the best I’ve had in Yamagata. I also enjoyed chatting with the staff and had a great time. I’d like to visit again soon.

    Adult Accommodation

    I stayed on a weekday right after the Golden Week holidays. I was completely satisfied with the meals, and also very satisfied with the staff’s service and hospitality. Since there are only a few guest rooms, I hardly ran into other guests, and I could enjoy the Onsen as well—so I was very satisfied. In fact, because no one was around, it almost felt a bit scary at night (in a funny way). The building is somewhat old in places, but it was properly cleaned, and it felt like a pleasant space filled with nice scents throughout. If there is one thing that could be improved, it would be that the tables during meals are quite close together, so I could hear all of other guests’ conversations. Rather than seating everyone tightly by the window with the great view, I would have preferred to sit with a comfortable amount of space between tables. Also, I thought it would be nice to have a few more drink options available in the lounge. That said, the in-room amenities were well stocked and it was an ideal Accommodation for relaxing at ease, so I will definitely stay again next time. The souvenir bread was delicious too.

    A Blissful Moment

    We were able to relax and truly enjoy the delicious food. It really made us realize what it means to lose track of time. Next time, we’d like to visit with our children as well. Thank you very much for your hospitality.

    As a birthday celebration

    My husband and I stayed here to celebrate my birthday. The staff’s warm smiles were wonderful, and the moment we entered the Accommodation, time seemed to slow down in a peaceful quiet. The meals were excellent, and a sake sommelier (I believe) recommended pairings that matched each dish perfectly, allowing us to truly enjoy the dining experience. There are two open-air baths and a large public bath; the water in the large bath felt slightly on the cooler side. The amenities are about what you would expect at a typical Ryokan, so you may want to bring any skincare or cosmetics you need. It is an Accommodation we would love to visit again.

    Everything is just right.

    The Room at Daichu also had the owner's music selection CDs, allowing us to enjoy a relaxing time together as mother and daughter. The meal portions were just right, and we enjoyed the pairings. Having a room closest to the bath was very helpful for my elderly mother. As per the Ryokan's style, there are no vending machines available. I realized it would have been better to bring drinks with us. Thank you for your hospitality!

    Satisfied.

    Stayed in a room with an open-air bath. Arrived after 3 PM and was surprised by the variety of welcome drinks. The large public bath had a great atmosphere, and the hot water was excellent. After bathing, enjoyed beer in a room with a wood stove. Dinner was delicious, and having free drinks was also fantastic. The most impressive part was breakfast—focused on Japanese cuisine, with every dish being incredibly tasty. The 11 AM checkout allowed for a relaxing stay. It’s an accommodation I’d love to visit again!

    Accommodation with Delicious Meals

    The meals were absolutely delicious. In addition to the course dishes, they provided "obanzai" (traditional small side dishes), so even those who find the course meal insufficient can feel satisfied with these extras. The drinks were also well-paired with the food, making it an enjoyable experience. The service was attentive and polite, and it was the most comfortable experience I've had in recent years. However... regarding the public bath, I couldn't see anything in the mirrors due to water stains, and overall cleanliness of the bath area felt lacking. This might be a concern for those who prioritize cleanliness. Additionally, there were no skincare products like lotion or emulsion provided at the sink in our room; you would need to go to the public bath if you wanted to use them, which was a downside for me. While no accommodation is perfect, this is a recommended accommodation for those who value excellent food and service above all else.

    Delicious cuisine, relaxing Onsen, and a highly satisfying accommodation.

    The onsen with free-flowing natural hot spring water was very relaxing, and we could almost exclusively enjoy the large public bath. Above all, the meals were delicious, and the recommended drinks paired with the dishes were provided as part of the all-inclusive service, which was highly satisfying. We received fruit to enjoy in our room at the end of our stay, but we were already full. Since there was no tea and sweets service at check-in (perhaps due to the availability of all-inclusive drinks), it would have been nice if they had offered something at that time. The photo service made for a great keepsake, and we thoroughly enjoyed the croissants given as souvenirs. It was a wonderful accommodation that I would love to visit again.     The dinner was wonderful.

    We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and the private open-air bath with natural hot spring water was truly refreshing. Dinner exceeded our expectations, with each course being carefully prepared and delicious. Additionally, there were extra dishes available for those with a bigger appetite, ensuring that both light and hearty eaters were satisfied. The selection of alcohol was also excellent! The complimentary drinks were thoughtfully curated, unlike typical free drinks, which was a pleasant surprise. The paid tasting set of Juyondai was truly remarkable. Due to the busy end-of-year period, there was no assistance with luggage upon arrival, and the check-in and check-out process could have been smoother (it would be helpful to guide guests to the lounge when there are many people or a line), so we rated it 4 stars. However, everything else was excellent. Thank you very much.

    I was satisfied with everything.

    Welcome drinks upon arrival, a relaxing bath with soft water, clear scenery enhanced by autumn leaves, delicious cuisine and excellent service as expected from an auberge, and all-inclusive beverages. I enjoyed almost all the baths. Although it is quite far from Tokyo by train and bus, I was able to relax and was very satisfied.

    The best accommodation where you can stay with your dog!

    This is my second visit this year. Usually, hotels that allow dogs are not very promising, but this one has a spacious pet building with parking space right in front, allowing you to relax without worrying about your surroundings. Above all, the food is very delicious, and the wine that pairs with the dishes is impressive every time! You can feel the dedication of the auberge. The hot spring was soothing with both good water and atmosphere.

    We stayed as a coupl...

    We stayed as a couple with our dog. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the bath was great. Above all, we were impressed by the staff's hospitality and the wonderful meals. We definitely want to stay again, so we look forward to your hospitality next time as well.
