    One disappointing thing is...

    We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful interior design, the infinity Onsen, and the Room amenities. However, there was one disappointing issue... At dinner, we enjoyed a wine pairing. At checkout, when we proceeded to payment, it had not been charged to our Room and was not billed. We informed the staff and asked to settle it ourselves, but we were kept waiting and then charged as usual. Despite this being a mistake on the Hotel’s side, there was not a single word of apology, which was very disappointing. Because everything else was excellent, this left us with an unfortunate impression.

    Maybe it’s a birthday.

    I stayed at this Hotel as a birthday gift for my partner. I couldn’t see Mt. Fuji as I had hoped, but the way the staff welcomed us on arrival showed me it was a great Hotel. Just as I expected, everyone was friendly, the food was delicious, and the open-air bath was amazing. Thank you also for taking commemorative photos for us. The Filipino staff member in particular was adorable and wonderful.

    Thank you for a relaxing stay.

    I’ve always loved Mt. Fuji and have wanted to stay at KUKUNA for a long time! Because of work, I often end up making a Reservation close to the stay date, and it’s usually fully booked (it’s so popular). This time, a spot opened up just a few days before, and we were able to stay! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, so we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji during daylight. Still, our Room with an open-air bath was clean, spacious, stylish, and incredibly relaxing—it completely melted away our everyday fatigue. The food was also excellent: creative cuisine and a buffet, along with attentive service. This trip was also to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. When we mentioned it, they kindly gifted us a wonderful dessert and photos, making it an unforgettable trip. The Onsen in the large public bath was very clean as well—we soaked at ease and felt truly refreshed. The sauna was great too. We’d love to stay again (if we can get a Reservation!).

    We were able to see Mt. Fuji.

    It was pouring rain when we arrived, but it cleared up later and we were able to see Mt. Fuji. Early the next morning, we had a clear view of the sacred peak, but by checkout it was mostly covered with clouds. The Accommodation staff told us that you can only see Mt. Fuji clearly without clouds about 120 days a year, which made us realize that even this close, there are times when it isn’t visible. We were glad we got the chance to see it so well. All of the staff were friendly and approachable, which left a great impression. The half-buffet meals were also very delicious. However, since the open-air bath in the Room can be seen from outside, bathing garments were provided; my wife found it difficult to figure out where and when to take them off. Installing a privacy fence might be better. In any case, we had a relaxing stay. Thank you very much.

    Relax and gaze at the sky from your Room—pure bliss (lol).

    The contrast of Mt. Fuji and the clouds visible from the Room was incredibly soothing. The barrel-aged wines—both red and white—were also delicious, so I bought some to take home for myself. I also really enjoyed the teppanyaki; it was fun and tasty. If I could mention just one thing, I would be happy if teppanyaki meat could be offered as filet as well—it would be easier for me at my age, so I hope that might be possible next time. The breakfast soup (minestrone) and walnut bread were so good that I ended up having seconds. I’ve mostly talked about food, but the Hotel staff were all very friendly and their smiles were truly comforting. Thank you very much.

    Magnificent Mount Fuji

    Kukuna is truly wonderful—Onsen, views, and meals! The Room also faces Mt. Fuji directly, and we were very satisfied. However, it would be reassuring for my elderly parents if there were a handrail at least at the entrance.

    The beef buffet was filling, but since it was during the Obon holiday period, I felt it was only fair for the price.

    The hot water temperature setting is too low.

    I was told it would be set to 40°C, but it didn’t reach that temperature. I assume this was out of consideration so guests could enjoy Mt. Fuji at a relaxed pace, but even in summer the outside air is cool enough in the mornings and evenings. If it had been properly managed to consistently maintain 40°C, we might have enjoyed it even more. The meals were delicious.

    The view is absolutely stunning.

    It was wonderful to be able to admire Mt. Fuji so much, both from the Room and even from the bath. This is truly a Mt. Fuji view! The weather certainly helped, but I was happy to spend so much of my stay simply gazing at Mt. Fuji in awe.

    I stayed here for the first time in 10 years.

    I knew it had been renovated a few years ago, but I hadn’t had the chance to visit, so this was my first stay in 10 years. The open-air bath in the Room used to be just a bathtub placed outside, but this time I was able to relax and enjoy the quiet night while soaking my feet in the footbath. Dinner was teppanyaki as before, but I feel the overall quality of the food—including the breakfast buffet—has improved dramatically. It was more than worth the price. By the way, since I only drink Japanese white wine, I did a tasting comparison, and the Koshu Barrel-Aged was among the top one or two Koshu wines I’ve ever had. This has given me even more to look forward to on my next visit. Wishing you continued success. Thank you very much.

    It was a truly wonderful time.

    As with last year, everything was outstanding—from the staff’s hospitality and the meals to the baths and all Facilities. It also coincided with the fireworks festival, which made for a truly happy time.

    It was excellent.

    This was our first time in Yamanashi, and we chose this place because it has Rooms with a view of Mt. Fuji. From check-in we were welcomed with drinks, and when we got to the Room there were desserts in the refrigerator. We could relax in the open, spacious bath, and the meals were very delicious—overall, we were very satisfied with the wonderful hospitality. The Onsen was especially my husband’s favorite; he loved the lying-down bath area so much that he said he could stay there all day. Kukuna is now one of our top favorites. We also enjoyed breakfast, but there was no one at reception and the staff member who helped us seemed a bit unfriendly... Still, overall it was really great. Thank you very much.

    It’s an Accommodation that makes you want to leave a Review!

    I don’t usually write a Review, but this stay left the strongest impression of any of the dozens of Accommodations our family has stayed at, so I wanted to post this as a thank-you. We stayed as a family of five. More than anything, what stood out during our stay was the hospitality of the staff. It wasn’t just a few individuals—every staff member naturally seemed to think and act with “how can we make our guests happy?” in mind. At check-in, you kindly chatted with smiles about my eldest son’s interests like Minecraft and Pokémon, which made him very happy. At dinner, you brought extra chairs so our two younger children—who had fallen asleep from exhaustion—could lie down comfortably, and even prepared light blankets for them. Thanks to that, we were able to enjoy our meal at ease. Later, when the kids woke up, someone gently said, “You’re awake—would you like some ice cream?” Seeing my eldest hand out ice cream to his younger siblings warmed all of our hearts. It was especially memorable that this kind thoughtfulness came not from just one person, but consistently from everyone. The baths were also wonderful: we could clearly see majestic Mt. Fuji right in front of us, and we were truly moved by the infinity open-air bath that felt as if Lake Kawaguchi connected seamlessly with the tub. There was also space where you could soak while lying down, and the water temperature was set slightly cooler so we could take our time enjoying the view—an incredibly luxurious experience. Of course the Facilities and scenery were amazing, but what truly made us feel “we want to stay here again” was your genuine care. When we visit around Lake Kawaguchi again, we would love to stay with you. Thank you very much for giving us such wonderful family travel memories.

    Thank you for a wonderful stay. We were able to relax, but as someone in the service industry, there were a couple of small points I noticed. At check-in, you assisted us with various procedures, but afterward when we were taken to our Room, there was no guidance to the Room and no offer to help with our luggage. My wife felt a little disappointed. (It was a young woman with very little expression, slightly on the fuller side.) Other than that, we were very satisfied with how pleasantly you handled things such as guidance during meals. In particular, the service at breakfast was excellent—we felt great and were extremely satisfied. (The gentleman who assisted us while wearing a suit.) Thank you very much.

    With Mount Fuji Nearby

    I was amazed to see how the view of Mt. Fuji from the balcony changed within minutes—it felt so close. There was still a little snow left, which made it even better. I’ll definitely come back to see Mt. Fuji again.

    We would love to stay with you again.

    From the Hotel Room, restaurant, bath, and everywhere else, I found it very soothing to enjoy the view of Lake Kawaguchi—and on a clear day, Mt. Fuji as well. However, it rained on the day of my visit, and although the weather improved the next day after my stay, I still couldn’t see Mt. Fuji, which was very disappointing. I would love to visit again on a sunny day. All of the staff were kind and courteous. I did complete the survey on my phone, but I checked out using the self-service machine and forgot to show the staff the survey completion screen, so I didn’t receive the gift—making for a regretful trip home along with thoughts of Mt. Fuji (lol).

    I made this Reservation to celebrate my husband’s birthday.

    Before making our Reservation, I read the Reviews and saw a few comments that concerned me, so I was honestly a bit anxious. But once we arrived, everything was wonderful. The staff were courteous from the moment we checked in, and even staff members we passed in the hall greeted us properly—it really showed how well trained they are. For dinner, we enjoyed teppanyaki. The chef shared a lot about the ingredients and the dishes, so we enjoyed not only the food but also the conversation. We were happy to spend such a lovely time celebrating my husband’s birthday. The atmosphere throughout the property felt like an overseas resort, and we were able to relax and forget about everyday life. The only disappointment was that it rained that day and we couldn’t see Mt. Fuji. Next time, we’d love to come back on a clear day. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

    We had a relaxing stay.

    The Room had a private open-air bath (reclining bath), so I enjoyed it many times while looking out over Lake Kawaguchi. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great, but on a clear day you can see Mt. Fuji and enjoy the spectacular view. The Hotel staff were wonderful. All of the Hotel’s original wines were delicious.

    We were able to see Mount Fuji reflected in the water.

    In late May, we stayed at Kukuna for the first time on our anniversary trip. The entrance and the Room both had a resort feel—just like a Hotel in Hawaii. You can see Mt. Fuji from anywhere in the Hotel. The food was especially delicious, and we were extremely satisfied! The next day, we were lucky to have clear skies with no wind, and we could clearly see “Mirror Fuji” reflected on Lake Yamanaka. This is a Hotel we would definitely love to stay at again!

    Simply the best.

    From the moment we arrived, we received wonderful hospitality. The comfortable sense of distance was also nice. The Room was clean, and we were able to relax at ease. Dinner was a four-course meal with a semi-buffet. Even though it’s called a semi-buffet, the quality is high—good enough to be satisfying on its own. All of the food was delicious. The Onsen was a pleasant, gentle hot spring said to be good for beautiful skin. This has become an Accommodation I definitely want to visit again. Next time, I’d like to come in a different season.

    At the Hotel, my mai...

    At the Hotel, my main focus is using the Room and enjoying the meals, and talking with staff isn’t really part of my purpose. However, this stay reminded me that even a few interactions can unexpectedly affect overall satisfaction. Subtle attentiveness and just the right words and service lead to a sense of security, trust, and comfort. There seemed to be one person who was somewhat businesslike…, but everyone else was truly wonderful. I enjoyed the meals, but I didn’t realize there were vegetables and other items further inside, so I ended up choosing mostly the Japanese dishes at the front. I found out later and was shocked. This Accommodation let me fully enjoy the view of Mt. Fuji and the calmness of Lake Kawaguchi. That said, regarding the Onsen—when I looked back while driving away, I wondered if it might be visible from a little distance away.

    First, the view of M...

    First, the view of Mt. Fuji is spectacular. However, there were very few other aspects I could rate highly. This time, I made a Reservation for the dinner Plan limited to five groups per day. I was expecting a special experience, but we were shown to a dimly lit private room with no other guests. Rather than feeling exclusive, it felt lonely. Most disappointing of all was the dinner. We had appetizers, bouillabaisse, pan-seared sea bream, a meat dish, garlic rice, and more; honestly, none of the dishes tasted good to me. The seasoning lacked consistency, I couldn’t appreciate the quality of the ingredients, and it did not feel worth the price. In particular, the sea bream was served undercooked (nearly raw), and I never felt satisfied from start to finish. As for service, I could tell the staff were doing their best. However, throughout the Facility there were noticeable signs of age and insufficient maintenance. In addition, some staff uniforms looked visibly wrinkled or had stains on shirts at times, which felt out of place for an upscale Accommodation. I have stayed at many Hotels and Accommodations over the years, but this dinner felt like an especially large gap between price and quality. It did not come close to the standard I expected from a high Accommodation Fee or from wording like “limited Plan.” The view of Mt. Fuji alone is truly wonderful. However if I can enjoy the same scenery at another Accommodation elsewhere,I would not return. My honest impression is that “the Mt. Fuji view was by far its greatest appeal,and nothing else left a strong impression.”

    Some of the dinner service staff had an extremely poor attitude.

    First part: When dinner was delivered, some staff were quite rude. Without greeting us, they came up from behind and placed the dishes on the table right next to our arms. The plates were left protruding 1–2 cm beyond the edge of the table. Second part: The food was very different from what it used to be.

    Outstanding Mt. Fuji views! A majestic early morning experience!

    Nothing blocked the view—Mount Fuji appeared right in front of us from the Room. It rained on the night we stayed, but by the next morning the clouds began to lift, and before breakfast we were able to see its awe-inspiring 모습, which truly made us feel, “We’re so glad we came!” The food was also excellent, and all of the staff were well-trained and very polite. The entire Hotel had a Hawaiian-inspired touch, creating a simple yet wonderful atmosphere. The only slight disappointment (not a major issue) was that although we stayed in a private Room with an Onsen bath, hot water was not flowing late at night. When I looked into it, I learned that the Hotel manages the water volume and keeps it from cooling down. Since it is supposed to be free-flowing from the source, I would have preferred that they let it run comfortably throughout the night without holding back—there are guests like me who wake up in the middle of the night and enjoy using the in-room bath multiple times. That said, overall we had a very pleasant stay. If given another opportunity, we would love to visit again.

    Just as always, I was completely satisfied.

    Every year, we stay here for my wife’s birthday. She relaxes in the Room’s open-air bath with a complimentary glass of champagne while enjoying the view of Mt. Fuji. It seems to be a blissful moment she looks forward to every year. Seeing her completely satisfied is my joy, and I’m truly grateful to KUKUNA. The open-air bath Room is amazing, and the half-buffet is incredibly delicious! Dining with a view of Mt. Fuji and soaking in the open-air bath with a view of Mt. Fuji—we fully enjoyed our stay. We’ll be back again next year—thank you in advance.

    Overall, I’m satisfied, but

    Thank you for taking care of us during Golden Week. The teppanyaki dinner was very memorable and delicious. Breakfast was also excellent—especially the pancakes, which were the best I’ve ever had at any Hotel. The bath with a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji was amazing, and the open-air bath in particular was intentionally set to a lukewarm temperature, making it perfect for a long soak. However, there was an issue with the Room… Perhaps because the weather was nice during the day, but the Room was unusually hot and uncomfortable. So we turned on the air conditioner, but it kept switching between heating → fan → heating… there was no cooling mode!! We tried setting it to the minimum temperature of 16°C and tested fan/heating settings, but no air came out… Why? If the air conditioner was broken, it made for one of the worst nights as an Accommodation—too hot to sleep!! If it wasn’t a malfunction, how were we supposed to stay comfortable? It left us very confused that night.
