    It was the best Accommodation!

    This was my first stay here, and it felt far more fulfilling than you’d expect from just one night and two days. From the warm welcome on arrival, everything was handled with great care. The staff’s hospitality left a lasting impression, and throughout my stay they were attentive to even the smallest details. From start to finish—including the send-off at departure—I felt genuinely well looked after. Rather than feeling formal or scripted, it truly felt like each guest was treated as an individual. The Room had a calm, relaxing atmosphere, and best of all was the private open-air bath attached to the Room. Being able to soak in an Onsen at my own pace whenever I wanted was a special luxury, and it felt so good I wanted to go in again and again. Enjoying the open-air bath while taking in the garden and surrounding nature helped me forget everyday fatigue. The meals were also carefully prepared dish by dish—delicious not only in flavor, but also in presentation and seasonal touches. I enjoyed them so much that mealtime itself became one of the highlights of the trip. The overall atmosphere of the Ryokan is wonderful as well—quiet, serene, and naturally calming just by being there. Everything is beautifully maintained down to the smallest details, making it an ideal space for a true escape from daily life. Even though it was a short stay of one night and two days, by checkout I was surprised at how much lighter I felt both physically and mentally—I was able to fully recharge. This is a Ryokan that honestly makes you think, “I want to stay here again.” If you’re looking for Accommodation in Hakone, I highly recommend staying here at least once.

    An Accommodation where you can experience Japanese Zen and hospitality

    We always stay here when we visit Hakone. This was our third time, and since our son had been saying he wanted to come again and again, we looked forward to enjoying a family stay. From the matcha served at check-in, to the Japanese garden with a koi pond on the way to our Room, taking off our shoes before entering the Accommodation building, and then stepping into a simple tatami Room reminiscent of a tea room, decorated with wildflowers. The calm sense of security in the Room and the beauty of the Japanese garden seen from the open-air bath truly soothe us. The meals are wonderful every time, and we are grateful that you also serve such luxurious dishes for children. By chance, it was also the day of Lake Ashi’s fireworks, so we went to see them as well, making our family summer memories even more vivid. Thank you very much for your hospitality. We would love to return.

    A gentle, wonderful ...

    A gentle, wonderful Ryokan that warms both body and soul. No matter how many times we stay, the cuisine is delicious and beautifully presented, like a story—each time bringing a smile to my face with pure happiness. The proprietress keeps everything meticulously clean, and I also love the Onsen with its distinctive sulfur scent. Although we had an unexpected issue this time, all the staff responded with genuine care, reminding me once again of what makes this Ryokan so special. My parents, whom I brought for the first time, loved it as well, so we will be back in another season. Thank you for such a happy time.

    It was an excellent accommodation!

    The three of us visited together, including my husband’s mother. Above all, the thoughtfulness of all the staff was outstanding—we had never experienced an Accommodation like this before. The Room, meals, and baths were all wonderful, but what impressed us most was everyone’s truly perfect hospitality. We were able to enjoy our meal at a relaxed pace in a quiet Room, and being surrounded by trees helped my mother-in-law feel very at ease. She was extremely satisfied and even thanked us, saying she had never stayed at an Accommodation like this before. My husband and I were also very happy with our stay, and we’ve been talking about coming back in winter when it snows. Thank you very much for the best service.

    Welcome home.

    We chose this Accommodation for our family after reading the Reviews. Tucked away in a quiet residential area, we were warmly welcomed by three staff members upon arrival with “Welcome home.” We were served matcha and sweets by the proprietress (perhaps), and relaxed in a Room overlooking the garden. Our Room was upgraded to a very spacious one, which surprised our children. Incense was gently burning throughout the Ryokan, creating a wonderfully soothing atmosphere. At dinner, an experienced attendant was assigned to us and supported us throughout. She was such a charming lady that our whole family enjoyed a warm and delightful time together. The kaiseki course truly felt like spring—everything was delicious, and we were especially amazed by the beautiful edamame soup. Every piece of tableware was outstanding. The same went for breakfast: each dish came with thoughtfully chosen vessels, which we also thoroughly enjoyed. The original rice bowls featuring an Otafuku character were adorable as well. It was our child’s first kaiseki meal, and they ate more than usual. The Onsen had pleasantly hot water with a hint of sulfur aroma that warmed us through. We were able to unwind at length. The male staff member who brought out geta sandals when we went into the garden was also very kind, and all staff we met until departure were Japanese and highly experienced, giving us a strong sense of this Ryokan’s history. Having a newspaper delivered to our Room in the morning felt like nostalgic hospitality—especially now that many Accommodations have more international staff. We can completely understand why this Accommodation has so many repeat guests. We would love to visit again as a family. Thank you for taking such great care of us!

    This is the best Ryo...

    This is the best Ryokan in Hakone. The meals (truly delicious!), hospitality, and Onsen—everything was outstanding. As more Ryokan become more like Hotels, it’s increasingly rare to experience the true charm of a traditional Ryokan, making this Accommodation especially valuable. I’m truly impressed by your dedication. We stayed on a day of heavy snowfall and enjoyed the beautiful snow-covered garden view from our Room, as well as a “snow-viewing bath” in the open-air bath attached to our Room. Even when we were leaving in the cold, everyone helped clear the snow piled on our car and along the entrance road, so we headed home with warm hearts. We will visit again to warm ourselves. Thank you for such a relaxing and fulfilling stay.

    Enjoyed delicious cuisine and stunning views of Mount Fuji.

    We revisited after about 8 years, this time as a couple, because we couldn't forget the memories from our visit with five friends. Despite the period of COVID-19 in between, the hospitality, wonderful cuisine, and views of Mount Fuji remained almost unchanged. The service by the staff was impeccable and truly heartfelt. However, we were a bit disappointed to learn that the morning miso soup service after enjoying the Onsen had been discontinued due to COVID-19. On our departure, we were deeply moved as the hostess and another staff member saw us off until we were out of sight. If possible (and if health permits), we would love to visit again!

    This is my favorite ...

    This is my favorite accommodation. The head chef's delicate dishes full of seasonal flavors are incredibly delicious, no matter what you eat. The service is attentive, making it a truly relaxing and leisurely place to stay. The onsen leaves your skin smooth and your body warm, ensuring a good night's sleep. It's an accommodation I want to visit every season for relaxation. Although it's hard to find the time, I make sure to visit at least once a year—looking forward to staying again!

    Accommodation for Inbound Guests

    Although not the responsibility of the accommodation, guests from Korea were loud and did not follow bath etiquette, making it difficult to relax and enjoy. Meals were served in the room, allowing us to enjoy delicious and carefully prepared dishes. The server was Chinese, and their explanation of the dishes was a bit uncertain, but it added a charming touch.

    Traditional Japanese Ryokan

    The accommodation gives the impression of maintaining the charm of a traditional Japanese ryokan, for better or worse. The garden is very well-maintained and showcases the essence of a Japanese ryokan, but the building itself is not new, so signs of aging are noticeable. The interior is not modern, and the layout with many rooms can be inconvenient. The table for in-room dining is low in height, making it difficult to sit cross-legged without your knees hitting it. While eating in a kneeling position poses no issue, it can cause numbness in your legs. Additionally, having meals served in-room seems to increase the burden on staff members, which might make guests feel concerned about them. However, this accommodation could be ideal for those who prefer in-room dining experiences. Both dinner and breakfast were very delicious; even the rice was excellent. Staff greetings were warm and thoughtful—welcoming guests back with "Welcome home" and sending them off with "Take care." Depending on how you perceive it, these greetings might come across as slightly forced at times; however, all staff members greeted us pleasantly wherever we met them during our stay, leaving a positive impression overall.

    It became a very good memory.

    On the day, it was raining quite heavily, but many people came out to greet us, which was touching. Since we were with a one-year-old child, we were a bit worried, but the staff kindly spoke to us, which made us happy. Each dish was carefully prepared and very delicious, and we were able to enjoy it slowly in our room. We didn't encounter many other people in the Onsen, so we could soak leisurely and truly relax. The room was spacious, and the new tatami felt pleasant. Overall, the hospitality of the staff was conveyed, and it became a good memory of our first trip to Hakone. Thank you to all the staff.

    I was able to relax.

    This was our first stay with my parents. The Ryokan itself is old, but it has charm, and we were able to spend a quiet and relaxing time, making it a very nice Ryokan. The staff were all wonderful, and the food was very delicious. It was a bit disappointing that there were almost no sweets or other souvenirs available at the shop (only one type). Also, this was my mistake, but I completely forgot that I had reserved a room with an open-air bath (as I made the reservation a long time ago), and there was no information on how to find the open-air bath from the room, so we ended up leaving without using it. It was my fault for forgetting, but I would have appreciated guidance to the location of the open-air bath if possible... It turned out that the open-air bath was through the indoor bath... The weather was bad, so we didn't open the door, and I didn't realize there was an open-air bath beyond it, so we ended up not opening the door. I was grateful for the consideration given in other matters, but the bath was disappointing. However, we enjoyed the large public bath and its open-air bath, and my parents were happy, so it was a good trip overall. There may not be people like me, but for such people, I hope that in the future, when guiding guests to their rooms, you could also inform them of the location of the open-air bath just in case.
