I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
I stayed here during Golden Week, and the moment I stepped onto the grounds, I felt, “This is a wonderful Accommodation.” Perhaps it’s because the proprietress pays close attention to every detail. It’s a truly pleasant place to stay. Because there are only a few guest parties, the staff is also small in number, but they provided attentive service. Needless to say, the food was outstanding. I wasn’t traveling specifically for branded wagyu; I’m the type who prefers to carefully choose and enjoy truly delicious food. Still, it’s rare to find an Accommodation where you can enjoy such a wide variety of cuts prepared in the best possible way for each one. As expected from Oki of Yonezawa beef. The Onsen is relatively small, but since there are few guests, I was able to have it all to myself whenever I went—and the water is excellent. Thank you for such wonderful memories.

An Extraordinary Escape
The meals were better than expected, and I was very satisfied. I was also able to enjoy a true escape from everyday life. There was no TV or clock, so I spent my time listening to music. With birdsong and fresh spring greenery all around, I felt truly refreshed.

I can’t find any words other than “the best”!
I’ve stayed at many Accommodations not only in Japan but also overseas, and this was the best Accommodation I’ve ever experienced. I can say that with confidence. My partner and I stayed for one night on a snowy day in February. It was our first visit. This is an Accommodation exclusively for two guests, and we had been looking forward to it for three months. There were only two other parties besides us that day, so it was almost completely quiet—the only sound was the calming music playing in the lobby. Watching the snow fall over the mountains, we truly felt removed from everyday life. The private bath was also at a comfortable temperature to soak in slowly while looking out at the snowy mountains and river, and it was very convenient to be able to go straight from there to the separate men’s and women’s baths. Above all, the food was delicious—I could have cried! If you had teppanyaki of this level in a prime area of Tokyo, you’d pay about this much just for the meal. With accommodation included plus Onsen access, such a generous breakfast selection, and this wonderful atmosphere, I honestly feel this price is incredibly reasonable. Everyone at the Accommodation provided courteous service as well—we’re truly grateful. It was my first time in Yamagata, but I came to love Yamagata—and Yonezawa—in particular. We will definitely return.

Not just meals...

The best accommodation!
You will be satisfied with the service, cuisine, and onsen. I have been visiting for over 15 years, and it is a wonderful accommodation that always provides various memorable experiences. Every time I leave, I love it so much that I immediately make a reservation for my next stay.

Delicious cuisine and warm hospitality... It was the best accommodation!
I was looking for an accommodation where I could enjoy delicious meat, and I found "Toki no Yado Sumire" and made a reservation. The accommodation is only available for two people per group, and there are no clocks or TVs... Although it was just a one-night stay, I was able to relax and forget the passage of time while listening to music at this wonderful accommodation. For the meal, as mentioned in other reviews, we chose the Chateaubriand. While we couldn't dine at the counter, the steak along with highly-rated items like "Nigiri" and "Sumire-zuke of Tomo Sankaku" were indescribably delicious. From appetizers to dessert, everything was delightful. Additionally, the staff's hospitality was excellent, making me want to visit again. Thank you very much for your kind service!

Yonezawa Beef at its Best!
This was my second visit. I stayed for an anniversary and received warm congratulatory words from everyone. The dessert was served with a commemorative plate. The various cuts of Yonezawa beef, which can only be enjoyed here, were all delicious, and the meat sushi was exceptional. It’s wonderful to be able to enjoy breakfast, dinner, dessert, and coffee in different locations each time. Next time, I’d love to come back for the filet!

Yonezawa Beef Feast
Dinner features a variety of Yonezawa beef dishes, prepared in different styles and all delicious. The main dish was steak, which was highly satisfying. There is a wide selection of alcoholic beverages, including local sake to enjoy. Breakfast offered a variety of small dishes, and the beef soup was particularly tasty. The public bath is not very large, but since there were few guests, I could always relax alone.

A Quiet, Relaxing Accommodation
A luxurious dinner of delicious shabu-shabu and filet steak. The wine was also excellent, and I happily returned to my Room. Being able to stay overnight there is what makes it truly special. Breakfast was served at a table filled with fresh morning light, with many side dishes and delicious rice. Each thoughtfully prepared dish on the small plates was something I loved. It was quiet and clean, and the attentive but not overbearing service made it very comfortable. Thank you very much.

This was my fourth v...
This was my fourth visit. The staff are always kind, and the meals are very refined and delicious. I always stay in the Japanese-style Room that I like, which is comfortable with large windows that I enjoy. The Onsen water quality doesn't have any particular features, but since it was a season with fewer insects this time, I could relax in the open-air bath without worry. One concern was that while the water in the lobby tasted good, the water in the Room had an odor, which might be due to an issue with the pipes. The concept of focusing on two-person guests is excellent. Personally, I think planting flowers or greenery in the garden visible from the window would make it even better. I look forward to visiting again!

Delicious meals / Hot baths...
We were drawn to the concept of an accommodation exclusively for two and decided to stay. The dinner was absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed various cuts of Yonezawa beef and were very satisfied. However, we were looking forward to the private open-air bath that could be reserved as a family bath, but it was too hot to enter, which was disappointing. The large public bath was also hot, so if all baths are generally this hot, it would be nice if adjustments could be made by adding cold water. (It seemed others felt the same as many left quickly.) The quiet space without a TV allowed us to enjoy a digital detox and relax at our own pace. Thank you very much.
