    A Comfortable Space

    Both the space and the hospitality were very comfortable. At the end of dinner, rice and eel were served, but the eel was tough and the seasoning wasn’t to my taste. The rice was very delicious. As a Diamond member gift, I received rice. I plan to cook it in a clay pot. The bath is on the small side, but it was very clean with a faint sulfur scent—truly the best Onsen I’ve ever experienced. I was worried because I had facial allergies, but instead the itching went away and the redness subsided. Once again, I was impressed by the power of nature. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

    Beautiful meals and friendly service

    My first time at Tsukioka Onsen. The water was at a comfortable temperature, perfect for a long soak—the best Onsen I’ve ever experienced. I tried a variety of dishes, but it was the first time I felt “beautiful” was the right word to describe the food. When I sent photos to my son, his first reaction was: “It’s so beautiful.” Truly a meal that delights all five senses! The hospitality from the manager and the proprietress was also outstanding! If I had to mention one thing, having a business desk and chair would make longer stays more feasible. If that could be arranged by request... But then again, maybe it’s better to step away from work when coming here—hard to decide... I’ve found another Facility I’d love to visit again when I get the chance. Thank you.

    An accommodation featuring kaiseki cuisine of kappo-level quality as its highlight

    Recommended for anyone looking for an Accommodation in Tsukioka Onsen (Niigata) where the food is the main attraction. “Kappo no Yado Imai (Igarashi Residence Yui)” feels less like a typical Onsen Ryokan and more like “staying overnight at a kappo restaurant at your leisure,” and the kaiseki was simply outstanding. The flavors made the most of seasonal ingredients, with careful attention to the dashi, cooking, and presentation. It goes beyond what you’d expect from a Ryokan meal—I truly felt it’s worth coming to Tsukioka Onsen specifically for the dining experience. The Onsen is also true to Tsukioka Onsen, leaving your skin feeling wonderfully smooth after bathing. Combined with the calm atmosphere where you can relax while looking out over the garden, it helps you unwind both body and mind. Highly recommended for anyone traveling in Niigata who values “Onsen × gourmet cuisine.”

    I was soothed by seasonal gourmet cuisine and hot springs known for their skin-beautifying benefits.

    I chose this Accommodation because I was looking for a place in Tsukioka Onsen where I could relax and enjoy delicious meals. The food exceeded my expectations, featuring plenty of seasonal Niigata ingredients. Since I visited around Setsubun, there were dishes made with beans, and the meals were decorated with masks and “good fortune all around” motifs. I was truly impressed by the wonderfully seasonal presentation. I was told the menu changes every time depending on events and the season, making this an Accommodation you’ll want to visit again and again for the cuisine alone! The Onsen I had been looking forward to had excellent water quality, and it left my skin feeling silky smooth. I was very satisfied to experience Tsukioka Onsen’s renowned beauty benefits. I’d love to visit again in a different season—I’m already excited to see what seasonal flavors I’ll discover next time!

    I’m so glad I was ab...

    I’m so glad I was able to visit during the snowy season. The Room you unexpectedly upgraded me to had a breathtaking snow view through the floor-to-ceiling window, and it became one of my lifelong memories. Thank you so much for your thoughtful kindness!! The staff’s service was also impeccable, and I had a very comfortable stay. The Onsen water quality was excellent as well—I enjoyed soaking four times during my stay. Thank you very much for taking such good care of me.

    Excellent hospitality

    When we informed the accommodation that my companion had sprained their foot the day before our stay, they kindly replaced the in-room dining table with a chair and table setup and adjusted the futon by adding a mattress to make it higher. Thanks to their thoughtful efforts, we were able to enjoy meals and sleep comfortably without any pain in the foot. Thank you very much. The meals were also incredibly delicious, and this is an accommodation we would love to visit again.

    A Quiet Accommodation in Tsukioka Onsen

    We were picked up at Toyosaka Station and arrived in no time while being introduced to the local area. From the slope to the gate, garden, and entrance, the Ryokan had a traditional atmosphere that heightened our expectations. The interior was surprisingly casual. Perhaps due to its age, there were deodorizing measures like charcoal and diatomaceous earth items placed throughout. The bath was small but not crowded. The door to enter the bathroom was difficult to handle, and others seemed to struggle with it as well. Some areas had ReFa devices available, but due to Onsen minerals causing buildup on faucets, they were hard to use and adjusting water temperature was confusing. I skipped using the outdoor bath as it lacked a sense of cleanliness. It felt like this place focuses on meals with Onsen as an added feature rather than vice versa. As expected from a kaiseki-style Ryokan, every dish was elaborate with generous portions—so much so that we couldn’t finish everything and felt sorry for leaving food behind. Even fava beans had intricate fillings inside them! I found myself wishing for simpler dishes too at times. Desserts were also beautifully crafted; I heard they were handmade by the head chef and tasted like something from a specialty shop! Breakfast again came in large portions that we couldn’t finish. The staff member who served our in-room dining was friendly and easygoing; we ended up chatting quite a bit during their service! On our way back by car, they shared stories about local history while driving us back to the station—and even waved goodbye until we could no longer see them. Thank you for upgrading our room—it made our stay even more special! Visiting Tsukioka Onsen—a renowned hot spring in Niigata—was truly wonderful this time around!

    Despite being a Kappo Ryokan,

    The service was disappointing despite the delicious food. The table was not prepared on time, and we had to call to remind the staff. Even then, preparations started late, making us question their attention to detail. For a 6:30 dinner reservation, one would expect to start eating at that time. Breakfast was also poorly managed; arriving five minutes early found the doors still closed. Additionally, we were dropped off at a different station than where we were picked up, leaving no time for souvenir shopping. Such lack of hospitality overshadowed an otherwise enjoyable meal experience.

    With my parents for the celebration of their 88th birthday

    In September, I visited for the first time with my husband and it was a very lovely Ryokan, so this time I visited to celebrate my father's 88th birthday. Once again, we experienced wonderful hospitality and had a very satisfying time. My parents were also very pleased, and we are grateful. Last time, I mentioned in the survey that I wanted to have coffee in the Room, and I was surprised to find a coffee maker already set up in the Room! Thank you. The autumn leaves, swans, Onsen, cuisine, and all the staff were excellent. Thank you very much.

    This is my second st...

    This is my second stay following the previous one. I am grateful for the courteous service provided during our stay with my elderly parents. I have one request. The approach from the indoor bath to the open-air bath is dangerous for the elderly without a handrail. I would like to see improvements made.

    In mid-October, we stayed with our daughter, who had returned home, to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. We were overwhelmed by the hospitality that exceeded our expectations. We are filled with gratitude. The three of us are talking about wanting to visit again. Thank you very much.

    It was a spaciously designed Japanese-style inn. The meals were delicious, and the hot springs allowed for a relaxing and leisurely soak. The staff provided warm hospitality, making it a pleasant place to stay.
