The finest Onsen and the finest cuisine

This year’s meals at Boro Noguchi were excellent, especially the rice. The Yumepirika was cooked to perfection.

Everything was excellent—the service, the Onsen, and the food. Thank you very much.

    Disappointed

The fish dish at dinner smelled strongly of raw fish and was inedible. The overall food quality was poor. The fragrance used throughout the property was unpleasant, like an older man’s pomade. The Onsen was good, but I would not recommend this place to anyone.

    My wife recommended ...

My wife recommended this Accommodation after staying here for a girls’ trip, so this time we stayed as a couple. Noboribetsu Onsen boasts one of the top water outputs and spring qualities in The whole country. There are many large Accommodations in the area, but I personally prefer this type with fewer Rooms. First of all, you can relax in the large public bath without feeling crowded. The spring quality is also the thick, cloudy type even for Noboribetsu, and it really warms you up—though there are a few spots where steps are hard to notice. The meals use local ingredients carefully prepared with time and effort, and I thought both the presentation and flavor were excellent. I’m not good with raw food, but they served the sashimi ingredients in an ankake-style sauce for me. Since many places tend to serve simmered dishes like buri-kama, this was a good job. My wife had her sashimi served with some special presentation as well, which was interesting. We enjoyed chatting with the staff and had a delicious meal. It was also my first time seeing a siphon-type soy sauce dispenser and a sharkskin grater—those were interesting too. They say it’s their 20th anniversary since opening, and you can feel the years in things like the lockers in the large bath changing room, some interior wallpaper, and around the vanity area. However, the in-Room bath uses stone materials that have developed character over time. And it’s spacious enough for four adults to bathe comfortably—quite impressive. It’s comparable in size to Hanzuiryo in Nagasaki; I almost felt there was no need to go to the large public bath. There are plenty of amenities provided, and having both yukata robes and samue loungewear is helpful (though tying the samue cords is a bit of a hassle). What bothered me was that after using the ganbanyoku hot-stone spa area, the shower room is separate so you have to leave once—and it felt a bit small. Also, regarding the sweets provided in the Room: at an Accommodation of this class, even just one piece would be fine if it were something original and higher quality—I think they could offer something better.

    Absolutely wonderful

From the warm welcome at the entrance to the private in-Room dining and all the way through departure, everything was outstanding. Beyond the excellent hospitality, having a private stone sauna and an in-Room Onsen bath felt truly luxurious, and it soothed both my mind and body. I wished I could stay here forever. I will definitely return.

    Thank you for your support.

I visited without any prior information, but was this previously a different Ryokan? The indoor Onsen bath—perhaps depending on the source—was the best private indoor Onsen bath I’ve experienced so far. The water truly felt like an Onsen, and the tub was very comfortable. Dinner was served with excellent timing. The portions weren’t overly large, which made me think they were carefully planned so we could fully enjoy the final serving of Yumepirika rice. This may have been the first time I’ve enjoyed the last bowl of rice this much. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

It was my first visit in a while.

It was a pleasant visit with great weather. This time we stayed for 2 nights and 3 days, and we truly appreciate your help in making the birthday surprise we requested go smoothly. We also felt your thoughtful consideration, such as varying the meals so that our Multiple Night Stay would not become monotonous. However, because this was a Reservation through IKYU, we were unable to receive the Diamond member benefits. We had been looking forward to the hot stone spa, so this was somewhat disappointing (we confirmed after arrival). In addition, we were unable to receive the bouquet from our post-dinner celebration when checking out. We have stayed here several times before, but this time the shower head cracked (we appreciate that you replaced it with a new one), and overall it left us with a slightly awkward impression.

    As always, the staff...

As always, the staff’s hospitality, the Onsen, and the time spent in a clean Room were soothing and very satisfying. However, this time I didn’t feel the same level of satisfaction with breakfast as before—especially in terms of presentation—and I was a little disappointed. I love relaxing and unwinding at Boro, so I’m thinking of visiting again when the meal offerings change. Also, I know it may be difficult, but I hope you can bring back a Plan with a 12:00 checkout.

    Good service!

I visited again for the first time in a year! My husband invited me for my birthday, but since I’m the member, I made the Reservation myself. I booked without mentioning that it was my birthday month. During dinner, they served the usual wonderful dessert, and then surprised me with a “Happy Birthday” dessert plate as well! They even took photos for us. Apparently they still had our data from last time. I was truly, truly happy! All of the dishes were delicious, and the tableware was beautiful—it was such an enjoyable time. The Onsen in the Room was also amazing. The time flew by so quickly. I’ll come again to relax—thank you in advance.

    A Place to Refresh

The facility is quiet, with a lounge providing a relaxing environment. Both dinner and breakfast feature dishes made with local ingredients, offering just the right portions even for us in our 60s. The elevator was easy to use without any stress (perhaps because we stayed on a weekday). It was also convenient to order souvenirs and other items directly from the in-room tablet.

Outdoor baths during the autumn foliage season require extra caution.

Revisited on October 26, 2025, following the stay on June 25, making it the second visit in 2025. There was one significant difference compared to the previous visit. The open-air bath at this accommodation features a milky white sulfur onsen, which felt more effective than the simple hot spring of the indoor bath. On the first day of this visit, it was raining, so I did not use it. The next day after the rain stopped, I entered and noticed fallen leaves accumulated at the bottom of the bath. The amount of leaves suggested they had been there for more than just a day or two. Since it's cloudy water, you can't see from outside; however, proper cleaning is necessary in such cases. This time I rated the onsen bath with three stars.

    The bathroom in the ...

The bathroom in the Room was extremely dirty, with broken tiles, and the door and mirror were heavily rusted, making it look terrible. The air conditioning was abnormally noisy and did not provide warmth! It seems like all the issues with the Facility are being completely neglected. I was very disappointed by how misleading the photos on the website were compared to reality. Despite charging a high price, does this Hotel even care? It needs to be rebuilt from scratch.

I'm sorry, but the provided text does not seem suitable for a hotel booking site. Could you clarify or provide more context?

One of my favorite hotels. This was my third stay in Hakodate and fourth in Noboribetsu. I arrived at 3:00 PM this time. Upon checking the guest list, they initially couldn't find my name and asked if I was at the correct accommodation. After reviewing it again, they found it and apologized for the mistake, but it left a bad impression from the start. During check-in, I was asked about dinner and breakfast times, but apparently, the most popular breakfast slot at 8:30 AM was already unavailable. Why? I checked in at 3:00 PM—was everyone staying for multiple nights? Or is it because I booked a cheaper room? Trying to reset my mood, I enjoyed a beer in the lounge—it was delicious. When asking a male staff member what time they open tomorrow morning, he replied vaguely with "6 or 7 maybe," adding that he just started working there and wasn’t sure yet. It seems like quite a relaxed workplace. Unfortunately, this experience didn’t make me want to return again.

    Annual tradition

The meals we were looking forward to were not tasty at all, which was disappointing. The ingredients felt miniature in size, and there was little explanation other than being told to check the menu. The sashimi was thin and small, making it hard to enjoy or even know what we were eating. The Western-style dishes were lukewarm as well. Perhaps this is an effort to cut costs, but if this continues, we might consider looking for alternatives instead of our annual stay here. However, the hot spring water was excellent.

    Impressed by the Onsen!

We chose to stay here for a bit of luxury on our wedding anniversary. The Onsen is absolutely amazing. The private Onsen in the room was also free-flowing and allowed us to relax at our own pace. We requested the shuttle service with a direct bus, and they were flexible enough to accommodate different departure points, such as Sapporo on the way there and New Chitose Airport on the way back, if seats were available. This was incredibly helpful. Our Junior Suite included complimentary beer and soft drinks in the refrigerator. There were also complimentary beverages like beer and soft drinks available in the lounge, making it a truly indulgent experience. The staff members were all smiles throughout our stay, which made it very pleasant. Although Noboribetsu takes some time to access from the airport, we rediscovered that it’s well worth visiting. We would love to come back again. Additionally, when there was a possibility of our return flight being canceled, we followed their advice to head to the airport early. Thanks to their support, we managed everything smoothly and returned home safely. Thank you so much!

    We visit every year....

We visit every year. The drinks in the Room are always free and always wonderful. However, I noticed that one type was missing this time—orange juice. I hope the variety does not decrease over the years. Overall, I think the meals are excellent. However, before the head chef changed, there used to be a surprise dish not on the menu as a token of appreciation for guests on a Multiple Night Stay. It’s unfortunate that this is no longer offered now. When an extra-large grilled king crab was served, it truly surprised me—it was exceptional hospitality!

    I will never go again.

The bathroom in the Room was very dirty, with mold-like stains on the mirror, walls, and even on the provided shampoo and conditioner. Completely unacceptable. The faucet in the sink caused water to overflow from the basin every time it was used, making it difficult to wash hands without creating a mess. The mirror in the toilet had clear marks of what used to be a vanity mirror—visually unappealing. I couldn't use it at all. Overall, the Room felt old and outdated. Even though I booked their best Room, this was disappointing—I should have chosen a Business Hotel instead. As for the food, while it was served quickly as part of a course meal, some dishes were cold and lacked flavor—very disappointing despite their good presentation and reasonable portion sizes. Unfortunately, they tasted bad enough that I wouldn't want to eat them again. On a positive note, we enjoyed having private access to the stone sauna; however, for some reason, there was a TV left on inside which felt unsettling. I strongly recommend avoiding staying here altogether!

A Long-Awaited Visit to Noboribetsu Onsen in Hokkaido

This was my first stay here. The sulfur hot spring water was gentle on the skin and allowed me to fully relax. Dinner featured dishes made with fresh local ingredients, offering a feast for both the eyes and palate. I chose the Plan with snow crab, and each person was served a generous portion of crab, which greatly enhanced our satisfaction. While I felt breakfast could have been a bit more luxurious, overall it was an extremely comfortable stay. I would love to visit again next time!

    We visit every year,...

We visit every year, but it seems to be getting worse over time. The massage chair in the men's bath is broken and left unrepaired, the lounge air conditioning makes strange noises every five minutes and hasn't been fixed, and the drinks in the room's refrigerator are warm as if they were just placed there, making them undrinkable. It also feels like there are fewer drink options than before. We are reconsidering whether we will return in the future.

    An accommodation with unforgettable cuisine.

The room was a modern and serene space, truly delightful. To unwind from the journey, I immediately took a bath, but when I shifted my gaze from the bathtub to the bath stool, I noticed some black spots that caught my attention... Thinking it would be rude to inspect closely, I closed my eyes and assumed it must be mold. It was a moment that brought me back to reality from the dreamy atmosphere. Cleaning mold is really challenging, even at home. Perhaps it's just because I'm overly meticulous about cleanliness that it bothered me so much; I found myself disliking how fixated I became on such things even in such a wonderful place. Even high-grade hotels can have mold—this was an insightful lesson. Changing topics to food—it was absolutely delicious! Dinner included a course with Shiraoi beef, which was an irresistible treat for meat lovers. As expected of Hokkaido! The dessert plate showcased seasonal artistry and reflected impeccable quality until the very end of the meal. Learning from staff conversations that different dishes were served for dinner and breakfast added another layer of hospitality to this thoughtful stay. The dobin-mushi soup was incredibly tasty as well. In the morning, thinking "why not," I visited the large public bath; however, when looking up at its ceiling... there seemed to be mold again—or maybe it just appeared so to me? Perhaps it was actually some kind of gradient design... The outdoor garden by the open-air bath felt somewhat untended despite its spacious grounds—not fully utilized potential—but nonetheless offered fresh mountain air as expected in such surroundings. Overall, this accommodation left alternating memories of delicious meals and concerns about mold lingering in my mind throughout my stay. The kintsuba sweets were delightful too—thank you very much!

    For our long-awaited...

For our long-awaited trip to Hokkaido, we decided to book this Hotel in Noboribetsu Onsen, which we had been curious about but avoided due to its strong image as an onsen town. The Hotel is located in a slightly secluded area, making it very quiet and pleasant. We were initially concerned about the aging facilities mentioned in some reviews, but everything seemed well-maintained and thoroughly cleaned. The bathroom in the room was very spacious and comfortable. Since the bath uses abundant free-flowing onsen water, it's understandable that some wear might occur over time, but it didn’t bother us at all. The accommodation clearly puts thought into ensuring guest satisfaction at every turn, and we felt a high level of hospitality throughout our stay. The room was so cozy that we regret not visiting the lounge. The drinks in the refrigerator were kindly exchanged for soft drinks since we don’t drink alcohol. We also enjoyed a private one-hour session of stone sauna (ganbanyoku), which could be reserved directly from our room. Both dinner and breakfast were served at a relaxed pace in private rooms with excellent timing by the staff. Every dish was delicious. We visit various accommodations every month, but this was our favorite accommodation of the year so far. The Accommodation Fee was also very reasonable. Thank you!

    Favorite Hotel

Meals are made with ingredients from Hokkaido and our own farm, beautifully presented and all delicious. The Onsen has a slightly dark, cloudy appearance and leaves your skin smooth and moisturized. The Room's Onsen is also spacious, allowing for a relaxing soak. However, as always, while the provided samue is comfortable and appreciated, the long length and tie-string design make it inconvenient to put on and take off. A shorter length or elastic cuffs would make it perfect.

    Birthday Trip

We stayed here for a birthday trip. From the warm welcome at arrival to check-in and during meals, the staff greeted us with smiles, making our stay pleasant from start to finish. The room was incredibly spacious and clean, and the Onsen bath in the room was large enough for two people to stretch out comfortably with extra space for another person. The lounge had an open and relaxing atmosphere, allowing us to unwind wherever we were. Both dinner and breakfast featured seasonal ingredients and were absolutely delicious. Since it was a birthday celebration, we ordered a special plate. Although I initially opted out of the photo frame due to feeling shy about it, during dinner, a staff member kindly suggested it, and we received a photo frame as a keepsake when leaving. As someone who finds it hard to ask for photos myself, this became such a wonderful memento of our trip—thank you so much! We enjoyed our stay so much that on our way back home, we found ourselves saying how nice it would have been to stay one more night. Thank you for providing such an amazing experience—we look forward to visiting again!

The photos of the Room are misleading.

The staff service was excellent. However, the Facility and amenities were disappointing compared to the photos on the website. The photos suggested that the Hotel provided Mikimoto or L'Occitane amenities, but we found none. Additionally, the actual Room was outdated, with old flooring and cracked bathroom tiles. The TV height was also not appropriate. The interior design seemed decades old and significantly different from the exterior and lobby decor. We had high expectations for this Hotel and paid a relatively high price, but we were deeply disappointed by the misleading description.
