    Obon Holiday

    We stayed here after a summer mountain hike. The bath was spacious and very relaxing. We chose the pork shabu-shabu course, and it was generous in portion size—everything was delicious, and we were completely full.

    Your First Oigami Onsen

    It was our first time visiting Oigami Onsen, and the three of us stayed here with my elderly mother. This Accommodation is the only one set on such spacious grounds, and it was obvious at a glance how different it is from the others. Dinner was thoughtfully prepared, and the Joshu beef steak in particular was tender and delicious. The only slight disappointment was that the souvenir shop inside didn’t have much variety, so there wasn’t anything I wanted to buy. I would have appreciated a wider selection of food items. I also became curious about Senkyo’s history and ended up looking it up. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

    Although it is a rustic Onsen, the Accommodation was calm and relaxing, and we were able to unwind. Thank you for your hospitality.

    Oigami Onsen

    We stayed as a family of three. The Onsen was great, and we were able to relax and enjoy our meal in a private dining room. This is an Accommodation we would like to stay at again.

    Your First Oigami Onsen

    While traveling from Numata to Nikko, we usually just passed by, but during this season (in March) we decided to stay at an Onsen that had caught our attention. Since you can’t walk down to the bottom of Fukiware Falls until late March, we explored from higher up instead. Being able to check in at 14:00 was a welcome bonus. The newly renovated Room was clean and comfortable, and together with the semi-open-air bath it made for a very pleasant stay. Unfortunately, the meals did not feel worth the price (I wish there had been more thought put into the substance rather than just presentation). Both dinner and breakfast were disappointing. Our main purpose was the Onsen, so we were able to relax. We had high expectations after watching YouTube, which made it even more disappointing.

    I had a relaxing time at the end of the year.

    In a quiet Onsen area, the hot spring water was excellent. The Room also had a semi-open-air bath, which was easy to use and very relaxing as well. We were happy with the tea service on arrival, and the meal included freshly made soba by the young proprietress—delicious. Even though we ate our fill, we still finished the small rice balls hand-formed by the proprietress in our Room.

    Highly Satisfied

    Everything was perfect. The Room and the private open-air bath were clean and had a charming atmosphere, so I stayed in the bath for a long time. The temperature of the bath was just right for me, probably around 43°C. Since it’s an open-air bath in winter, this temperature is necessary; otherwise, it would feel lukewarm and cold. When I got too hot, I could enjoy fresh air on the bench outside—it felt amazing! Once my body cooled down, I went back into the bath. Repeating this process felt so good that it became an endless loop. The meals were also incredibly delicious. They prepared a winter-exclusive crab hot pot for us. The broth was excellent as well! In addition to the hot pot, there was crab vinegar sauce to fully enjoy the crab experience. Ending with rice balls made with crab miso turned into ochazuke (tea over rice) was simply perfect! Since we were in Gunma Prefecture, I didn’t expect much from sashimi dishes—but they exceeded expectations! The cold yellowtail sashimi stood out as exceptionally tasty. Handmade soba noodles by the Ryokan hostess were served during our meal course—they were also delightful! Even something as simple as pickles showed how carefully each dish had been prepared; everything tasted wonderful overall! Warm dishes came served on pre-heated plates or bowls—attention-to-detail like this left no room for complaints at all. Meals took place inside private dining rooms which eliminated any stress caused by other guests nearby. Underneath carpets laid electric heating mats keeping feet warm & cozy throughout dinner—a thoughtful touch enhancing comfort further! At public baths (large communal ones), there’s both sauna + cold-water plunge pool available—this feature earned high marks personally since "refreshing" moments post-sauna are important! However minor critique: Cold-water pool might’ve been *too* chilly compared against relatively mild saunas (~80°C). Personally couldn’t last longer than three seconds submerged due extreme chilliness but still managed five cycles spending over hour total enjoying facilities! Staff interactions consistently featured polite smiles alongside professional hospitality making entire stay pleasant start-to-finish! Annually visiting similarly priced Ryokans elsewhere previously yet firmly believe Sanko offers exceptional value-for-money comparatively speaking here today now reflecting back fondly upon experiences shared together recently altogether wholeheartedly recommend returning someday soon again surely without hesitation whatsoever!!

    Ogami no Sato

    The meal choice of "shabu-shabu" was excellent in both portion and taste, leaving us very satisfied. The Onsen, especially the open-air bath, was beautiful and absolutely wonderful.

    Stayed for one night...

    Stayed for one night during the July long weekend. The staff's hospitality and service were truly exceptional and impressive. However, the room felt a bit outdated. Despite choosing a room with a semi-open-air bath, the shower was oddly positioned, and bees in the garden kept flying close to the bath, making me nervous. The most disappointing part was the toilet, which had an overwhelming sewage smell that made it unpleasant to use. While I was slightly let down because of these issues—especially since the staff's warm welcome from the entrance was outstanding—I still enjoyed my stay overall at this quiet and relaxing accommodation with delicious meals. Thank you very much!

    If you're visiting Oigami Onsen, Senkyo is the perfect choice!

    The Onsen town of Oigami may seem traditional, but Sanko Ryokan is truly exceptional. If you're visiting Oigami Onsen, Sanko Ryokan is the perfect choice. The food is delicious, the service is outstanding, and the rooms are clean. The value for money is incredible. The welcoming matcha tea was a delightful touch, and the colorful yukata were adorable. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely amazing—the meat was tender and flavorful. They even prepare your futon for you, and the thoughtful gesture of bite-sized rice balls with a handwritten note as a late-night snack was heartwarming. Thank you for such a wonderful stay! This is definitely a ryokan I want to visit again. Even small details like numbered slippers to avoid mix-ups show their excellent attention to hygiene standards.

    Disappointing

    I chose this accommodation because of the good reviews. The cleaning was thorough, and flowers were placed in certain areas, which created a pleasant atmosphere. However, the meals lacked uniqueness and were not impressive. The worst part was that the room's air conditioning could not be turned off. I had to increase the TV volume to drown out the noise, but even after asking the staff for help, they said it couldn't be turned off, resulting in a sleepless night.

    The room and Onsen were excellent.

    I stayed for one night in June. When I arrived, it was raining, and the staff kindly and promptly assisted me with an umbrella. Thank you very much. The accommodation was a room with an onsen, which was new, beautifully clean, and filled with the pleasant scent of wood. The onsen had perfect water temperature, allowing me to relax and enjoy it multiple times. The meals were delicious, and I even enjoyed a late-night snack. I was also sent off courteously upon departure—thank you again. This is an accommodation I would love to stay at again!

    The Spirit of Japanese Hospitality

    I had always wanted to visit Oze, and I was fortunate to have great weather. The skunk cabbages were beautiful and truly moving. After researching various options, I chose this place because it offered a Shuttle Service from the Shinkansen station. The location is in Oigami Onsen, about an hour from the station. You can also reserve a morning bus to Hatomachi Pass. The guest rooms were renovated last year and were very clean. The hostess makes fresh soba noodles daily, which we enjoyed for dinner—it was incredibly delicious! Making soba noodles requires significant effort, so I was very impressed. Dinner was served in a private Room with just the right portions and excellent taste. When I returned to my Room after dinner, there was a small rice ball snack left by the hostess as a thoughtful gesture for the evening. Each Room is named after characters from "The Tale of Genji," with framed poems and flower arrangements that reflect Japanese hospitality, making it a very comfortable Ryokan. I visited Oze on the following day but thought that staying for Multiple Night Stays or spending another night here on your second day would be perfect for relaxing and recovering from your trip!

    Everything except Wi-Fi is rated as "excellent."

    I stayed here during my Golden Week trip. As I had heard, this is the most luxurious Onsen in Oigami, and everything from the hospitality, service, meals, to the facility was impeccable. The Shuttle Service was also very helpful. The cherry blossoms were still in bloom and could be enjoyed from the open-air bath and private dining area. Although they couldn't be seen from the Room's bath, I was satisfied as the water temperature was just right for a relaxing solo soak. It was also convenient to go to the large public bath without needing to bring anything. The only downside was that the free Wi-Fi signal was too weak. Since these beautifully renovated Rooms seem more suited for working-age guests rather than retirees, I think improving this would be beneficial.

My goal was to relax at an onsen ryokan, and the experience far exceeded my expectations. 【Room】 I chose a standard plan with dinner and breakfast included. The room was spacious enough for two people to feel completely comfortable. The clean and serene Japanese-style room provided the perfect setting to enjoy an extraordinary escape. 【Onsen】 The onsen felt almost like a private retreat—pure luxury. The hinoki bath had a soothing aroma, and the water temperature was just right. The open-air bath offered breathtaking views with an unmatched sense of freedom that you can't find in urban areas. Its rustic charm made it truly unforgettable. With gender-specific time slots aside, you can enjoy the baths anytime during your stay. Although I only bathed in the evening and morning this time, I look forward to taking more time next visit. 【Dining】 While just enjoying the onsen felt worth it alone, the meals surpassed even that experience. Dinner featured dishes like fresh iwana sashimi, grilled fish, handmade soba by the hostess, each exceeding expectations in taste and presentation. Dessert—a sweet strawberry—was exceptionally delightful. Breakfast was equally impressive; despite low initial expectations based on photos beforehand, it turned out to be perfectly portioned with impeccable flavors. 【Service】 The staff were incredibly kind and attentive throughout my stay. Upon arrival, I was welcomed with matcha tea and sweets; after dinner when returning to my room there were rice balls thoughtfully prepared by the hostess waiting as well!     I was more satisfied than I expected.

    First, the courteous service is memorable. From arrival to departure from the Stays, it was a pleasant customer service experience. Also, the interior of the Stays was clean, and the garden was impressive. The meals were plentiful and satisfying. I would like to visit again. Thank you very much.

    It was a wonderful Stays.

    It is a stay with dinner and breakfast included for one night. Although I traveled by train from Tokyo, I was able to use the shuttle service from Jomo-Kogen Station and Numata Station, so access was not inconvenient. The staff's response upon arrival and during meal times was courteous and not overbearing, allowing for a comfortable stay. I was surprised by the long and charming path from the gate to the entrance of the ryokan. The interior, including the room, was spacious, and I was able to enjoy meals in a private room, making for a relaxing stay. The large public bath was clean and not crowded, which was great. The open-air bath was also liberating and relaxing. The water in the room's open-air bath might have been a bit hot. (It wasn't to the extent that I needed to consult anyone, and given the season, the cold outside air allowed me to enjoy the onsen in the chilly weather.) In various places, such as the room's amenities and services, I could feel the thoughtful consideration of the proprietress, which was lovely. I would recommend this ryokan to those who want to spend time quietly in an open and tranquil setting.

    Stays decided at the last minute

    I often visit onsens in Gunma, but this time it was a spontaneous onsen trip decided two days ago. The room has just been renovated, with the scent of wood lingering, and the semi-open-air bath is full of luxury, making my wife very satisfied. Dinner wasn't particularly luxurious, but it was plentiful and filling. It was my first experience being welcomed by fresh flowers in a vase in the property room. I found a good stay.

    Relax and enjoy a wonderful time.

    I used the three-day weekend in November to stay. From the welcome to the farewell, thanks to the kind consideration of the staff and the proprietress, I was able to spend a pleasant time. The room was spacious enough for three people to relax as they pleased, and the bath, with its wooden tub, made me want to soak in it forever. We enjoyed our meals in a private room without worrying about others' eyes, and the portions were just right, allowing us to enjoy various local dishes to our heart's content. My daughter seemed to like the colorful yukata and was very pleased. My wife was impressed by the beautiful flowers arranged throughout the property. I was delighted with the rakugan sweets served with matcha upon arrival, and I bought some as souvenirs because the wrapping and taste were excellent. I think it's a great property where you can have a really good vacation. The only disappointment was that the autumn leaves were late. The garden's autumn leaves were not yet colored. Well, this is due to nature, not the property's fault. I left the property with a lingering feeling, thinking how wonderful it would be if surrounded by bright red autumn leaves. After that, we also went to the apple orchard that was recommended to us. That was nice too.
