I’d love to stay here again.

We stayed as a family of four. It was about a 7–8 minute taxi ride from Granpal Park, so our tired kids didn’t get fussy. The meals were delicious, the Onsen was very relaxing, and we were extremely satisfied. The staff were kind and made us feel comfortable. The Room was spacious, so the four of us could stay comfortably. We’d love to stay again when we visit Izu. Thank you very much.

The whole family was very satisfied.

This was our second stay, and we were very satisfied with the Facility, service, meals, and Onsen. It’s an Accommodation that both children and adults can truly enjoy. As soon as we got home, our child asked, “I want to go again!” Although it’s a highly satisfying Accommodation overall, if I had to mention one thing, I think it would be helpful to have a small towel for wiping around the sink. Since there are slopes and stairs on the grounds, guests using strollers or those with mobility difficulties may find it better to use Yawatano.

    Overall, I’m satisfied, but

Overall, I was satisfied with my stay at this Accommodation. The view from the Room was wonderful, and I was able to relax and enjoy a leisurely time. On the other hand, having an electrical outlet by the bedside would make it easier to charge a smartphone at night and would improve comfort. I was also slightly concerned that a pillar near the Room entrance appeared to have termite damage and was partially crumbling, and that I saw small ants inside the Room. I understand this may be difficult given the nature-rich environment, but improvements would help guests feel more at ease. When I used the iron kettle (teapot) to make tea, there was a strong bleach-like smell remaining, which prevented me from enjoying the flavor of the tea—this was disappointing. That said, both the open-air bath and private bath were clean and very pleasant to use. The meals were plentiful in both variety and quantity, and everything was delicious. I also appreciated services such as late-night soba noodles as well as ice cream and milk after bathing, which made my stay even more enjoyable. While there are some areas for improvement in small details, overall this Accommodation provided a highly satisfying experience. If those points are refined further, it will become even more appealing. Thank you very much.

Disappointing for a leading company like Kyoritsu.

Arrived by taxi from my previous accommodation. I got there more than 30 minutes early, but they kindly let me wait without any unpleasant attitude. There is a Shuttle Service bus from Izu-Kogen Station at convenient times. The Room was “Umibotaru,” intended for solo travelers or couples. On IKYU, it seems that as of today this is the only Room available for solo stays. The Room felt old, but it was reasonably clean; however, mold on the wood in the shower area was noticeable. Also, there was no toothbrush amenity in the Room—I had to go all the way to the front desk to pick one up—which was a bit disappointing. The large public bath was clean as expected, with multiple spacious baths lined up, and I was very satisfied. The three private baths had lower water temperatures and small tubs, which was a bit disappointing. Other guests were lining up around check-in time, but it became less crowded later at night. Another downside is that the large public bath is only available until 10:00 a.m. If standard check-out is 11:00 a.m., I would have liked to use it right up until then. Dinner started well—the appetizer course was tasty, and the chilled burdock soup was also good. The main dish was lava-stone grilling; since I enjoy trying yakiniku restaurants, it wasn’t especially satisfying for me. However, my biggest issue with dinner service came down to our assigned foreign server. I understand hiring foreign staff in tourism can’t be helped, and I’ve had excellent service from foreign staff before—but their Japanese wasn’t strong enough for smooth communication here. They got my drink order wrong twice. The pacing of serving dishes was extremely fast. They tried to clear plates while we were still eating (this also happened with Japanese staff). Because the plates were hot and large, they couldn’t hold them properly and made guests take them instead; they also tilted plates when serving so food slid out of place. Their explanation about rice—no large portion available but refills are possible—was confusing. They spoke loudly in their native language when explaining dishes to foreign tourists at the next table. It wasn’t only that server; even Japanese staff seemed focused solely on bringing dishes out and clearing them away regardless of how we were doing at the table. It was simply disappointing. Breakfast items were all delicious. Side dishes could be refilled freely; rice kept going down easily, and when my rice pot became empty at just the right moment, staff encouraged me to get another serving—such good service that I ended up overeating. The difference between dinner service and breakfast service makes you wonder why. Including front desk and housekeeping as well, my overall impression felt slightly below other Kyoritsu Group properties—starting with how little eye contact there was and how overwhelmed everyone seemed. It ended up being a somewhat disappointing trip overall—though the squirrels that occasionally appeared were cute enough to be a highlight.

    About six months ago...

About six months ago, we stayed for one night for our child’s birthday and had a good impression, so this time we stayed in the separate annex “Takeyabu” for two nights (Saturday and Sunday). However, the cleaning was not thorough—there were hairs on the floor and dust left behind—and the sliding door was poorly fitted and hard to open, which left us dissatisfied. On the first day, because it was crowded, we were told to park from the back in order, so we did. On the second day, when we went out and returned to the Accommodation, the area where we had parked the day before had been closed off. When I asked staff about parking spaces, I was strangely told to park in a distant lot. Even though there is space for 5–6 cars in front of the Accommodation, it was blocked with traffic cones. When I complained, they said they would check and went inside. After that, they told me that “as a special exception this time,” I could park in front of the Accommodation. I will never go again. wtfk

    Kyoritsu Resort standards

This property feels like an average Kyoritsu Resort—some good points and no major drawbacks. The greetings and service are reasonably good, and the Facility has no notable issues. I did feel there was a bit too much wasted space. Noise from the hallway carries into the room quite a lot, so I’d like to see some improvements. Overall, it felt strongly geared toward families.

    The staff were very kind!

We stayed for a Multiple Night Stay with a toddler just before Golden Week, using a Room with an open-air bath. [What we liked] - The private bath was spacious and not crowded, so we really enjoyed it. - We could use the large public bath right after check-in and enjoy the many different tubs. - Our child was delighted by the large carp streamers. - Every staff member was kind and listened to our child, which we truly appreciated. - There were plenty of parking spaces on the property, all close to the front desk. - The in-Room coffee service was great. - Our child loved the retro toy corner and the complimentary ice cream after bathing. - The rice paddy-themed concept was fun and unique. [What concerned us] - The open-air bath in the Room felt smaller than expected. - The mattress didn’t suit us. - The Room felt dark inside. - It would have been helpful to have a luggage cart from the front desk to the Room. - We woke up at 5:00 a.m. due to birdsong. - There was no toner or lotion provided in the Room. [Overall] It was wonderful. Our children were fascinated by frog calls and plants throughout our stay and had a great time from start to finish. It was an Accommodation experience we could only have had here. Thank you very much for taking care of us. We would love to visit again with our children. Thank you.

    旅行は楽しいよね!

I’d love to stay here again.

I stayed here after receiving a recommendation email from IKYU. I was satisfied with the Room, the large public bath, and the meals. In the past, when staying at Kyoritsu Resort properties, there were often long gaps between courses, but this time everything was served with good timing for the first time. Looking at the Ryokan map, the large public bath and restaurant seemed far away, but it was actually an easy walk. However, you have to go outside when leaving your Room, so it may be uncomfortable in midsummer or midwinter. One request: I would appreciate having a hand towel provided at the washbasin. It’s a place where you can relax without being bothered by other guests, so I can recommend this Accommodation. I’d like to stay again if I have the chance.

    My wife and the Onsen

The satoyama concept really came through. We enjoyed the cherry blossoms and the warbling of Japanese bush warblers on the way to dinner and to the large public bath. The Onsen was free-flowing from the source, felt gentle on the skin, and was wonderful. We chose shabu-shabu for dinner and were very satisfied; next time I’d like to try the lava-grilled option. Since it’s satoyama, the Room also had a relaxing “country family home” feel. That said, it takes a little time to get used to the lighting and layout, and guests with limited mobility should be cautious as there are stairs and slopes. There were many international visitors as well, but I think they were able to fully experience a Japanese atmosphere. The large public bath has many tubs and seemed popular with children. It rained the day after our stay, so it would be even better if you could check the forecast and provide at least one umbrella per Room. A shoehorn would also be appreciated. Overall, I think this Accommodation is a great fit for families with children.

    A Little Time Slip

The entire Accommodation has the atmosphere of a traditional Showa-era satoyama village. The baths include an indoor bath, multiple open-air baths, as well as a reclining bath and a waterfall-style bath. The meals are also delicious. Since the baths and dining are in separate buildings, this Accommodation is ideal for guests who don’t mind walking over to enjoy them.

An Accommodation you’ll want to return to

This was my second stay, and my first since the renovation. Above all, the staff’s smiles and thoughtful hospitality were wonderful, and I felt truly relaxed. The private bath and the Room had also been renovated, which was great. There was a wide variety of food, and the highlight for me was the lava-grilled Kuroge Wagyu beef—it was absolutely delicious. For breakfast, I could choose between a Japanese set meal or a Western set meal, which I really appreciated. The baths—including the open-air bath and sauna—had been renovated as well, and they were soothing both physically and mentally. It’s an Accommodation I’d love to stay at again on my next trip.

    No repeat stays.

Guest Room (Umi Hotaru) It is very old; the flooring is peeling, and the cabinet doors do not close. There is only one power outlet. It is next to the sink in the Room, but there is no space to place items, so a long charging cable is needed. The Room was well cleaned. Service The front desk staff were very pleasant. Onsen There was a child of the opposite sex who did not appear to be preschool age, which was very uncomfortable. I would like you to consider not only age but also height, etc. Meals We could order drinks only at the beginning, and there was no water either, so it was difficult to eat without any drinks. The fried golden eye snapper was over-fried, hard and dry, and cold. The coleslaw salad was just shredded cabbage. The Inaniwa udon had clumped into a ball and was soggy, not in an edible condition. The shrimp kakiage was also nothing like what you would expect and was completely cold. The dining area is extremely cold.

    Disappointing.

The accommodations of Kyoritsu Resort have been visited across the whole country, but this one? The service by the female staff was excellent, and the meals were fairly good. However, the room, despite being "renovated," felt extremely old and was terrible. The indoor bath in the large public bath area was open to the outside, making it cold during this season and almost causing a chill. As it stands now, I would not consider returning.

This is my second visit in 4 years.

I was very satisfied during my previous stay, so I decided to visit again. This time as well, the seafood shabu-shabu, roasted sweet potatoes, oshiruko, and late-night ramen were all truly delicious. The kotatsu in the Room was also fantastic! However, I was disappointed that there was a limit on the towels available for use. Only one large and one small towel were provided per person, which left me without a towel when using the sink in the Room. It would be helpful if smaller towels could be used freely like before. Additionally, there seemed to be a large spider living on the balcony of the Room with an intricate web that didn’t seem like it could have been made in just one day. This made me wonder if cleaning had been thorough enough.

The extremely strong winds ruined the enjoyment of this trip.

The newly renovated detached Takebue Room with an upgraded grade was something I was really looking forward to, but due to the extremely strong winds, I couldn't even enjoy the outdoor bath of my favorite room. I went to bed early, but the strong wind kept hitting the roof and windows of the room, making it impossible to sleep through the night. It turned out to be a night ruined by nature's mischief, which spoiled this trip completely. It was a very disappointing journey. "Mori no Yu Kiranosato" has such a wonderful atmosphere and an excellent layout that makes use of nature, which is why it feels all the more regrettable. The food was good though.

The atmosphere of the satoyama is delightful.

I stayed for only one night, but I had a great time. Next time, I would like to enjoy a more relaxed trip with a Multiple Night Stay. The variety of baths was wonderful, and the Onsen was amazing!

    Kawazu Cherry Blossom Viewing

We visited on our way back from viewing the Kawazu cherry blossoms. The facility is spacious, resembling an Onsen village, and there are areas where children can play. I plan to bring my grandchildren next time.

No matter how many times you visit, it's wonderful.

This was our third visit as a couple, and for the first time, we were able to come with our child. The Room was spacious, we enjoyed various baths, and the meals were delicious, leaving nothing to be desired! The roasted sweet potatoes we had in the past were so delicious that we couldn't forget them, but they were not available this time due to the season. We would like to come again when the season is right!

We stayed as a family of four. The Onsen had a variety of baths and was very enjoyable. For meals, we chose seafood, but the shabu-shabu was also delicious and served in just the right portions, leaving us satisfied. However, the Room was far from the baths and dining area, which was a bit tough during the cold winter season. The kids hesitated to go for a morning bath because it was too cold. Next time, we would like to stay during a more pleasant season.

    Delicious cuisine and smiling staff

This was my second stay with dinner and breakfast included, traveling alone. The reason? Because the food is delicious. And because being in nature and the bath is soothing. Within the spacious grounds, there are rabbits, squirrels, and fish, a waterwheel turns, and the staff walking around the grounds always greet you. Luckily, from the private room, you can see Oshima in the distance, and the vast expanse of Sagami Bay below. That made me very happy. Some people may be concerned about the old building, but since it's a stay in Satoyama, I hope you can enjoy the meals, the hot water, and the scenery without worrying about such things. From 17:00, there is a serving of roasted sweet potatoes in front of the reception, and the pot-baked silk sweet was very delicious and impressive. Thank you for your hospitality.

I felt that the service and consideration from the guest's perspective were lacking. It is likely a result of struggling to cut costs due to increased expenses, but I believe more consideration is necessary.

    I was satisfied.

The building is centered around a traditional Japanese house, but it is well-maintained, and the necessary parts are equipped with the latest facilities. The meals, Onsen, and the staff's service were exceptional. It was a facility I would like to visit again if given the opportunity. Thank you very much.

The meals and the room were excellent. The onsen was especially wonderful. I would like to use it again if I have the opportunity. As I wrote in other reviews, please note that you have to choose between dinner times of 5:30 PM and 8:00 PM, and it is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you have children and only the 8:00 PM slot is available, it might be quite tough as your children might get hungry. I think it would be better if you could choose between 5:30 PM and 7:00 PM.

    No repeat.

I don't think there will be a repeat. The interval between meals at dinner is too long. I would like the amenities to include 2 sets of towels per person. If not, I would like them to be placed in the large public bath. While I think it's inevitable because of the price, there is a minor onsen village where we were very satisfied with the low accommodation fee, and my husband and I want to repeat. Above all, it takes too long to check in. It's strange. Another Kyoritsu Resort (Kusatsu) was smooth and overall satisfaction was high. I will probably never go to this property and Yuzawa again. It's disappointing.

    I had a relaxing time.

Due to my fruit allergy, I contacted them in advance, and they kindly adjusted the menu, allowing me to enjoy a very delicious meal. Thank you very much. The indoor bath and open-air bath were also nice Onsen. As it suddenly got cold, I thought it would have been nice to have tabi socks with the sandals.
