    This was our seventh...

    This was our seventh stay. We stayed to celebrate a 60th birthday. They prepared a red celebratory vest and a congratulatory plate, which made it a wonderful memory. The meals were also very delicious. We will visit again.

    Silent Traveler

    Annex JIBOH: We would like measures to reduce the sound of water falling into the in-room bath.

    To escape the bustle of everyday life and enjoy some quiet time, I stayed alone in a Single Room at “Hanare JIBOH.” The sense of privacy away from the main building, the modern and refined Room, and the superb bath setting where I could enjoy Furuyu’s lukewarm water at any time were truly wonderful. I was very satisfied with these luxurious facilities. Because the Room has such great potential, there is just one point regarding the nighttime sleeping environment that I strongly hope you will improve. Late at night, when everything around became completely quiet, the sound of water falling from the bath spout into the tub echoed into the bedroom far more than expected, making it difficult to fall asleep. Precisely because this is a detached Accommodation designed to enjoy “silence,” this constant dripping sound was extremely distracting. To ensure a comfortable sleep environment worthy of a high-end Accommodation, I strongly request either that you clearly indicate inside the Room where to adjust or stop the water flow (even only at night), or that you implement noise-reduction measures at the spout (such as changing its angle or adding a silencing mesh). Including your staff’s pleasant hospitality, I felt this is a truly wonderful Accommodation. If this sound issue is resolved, I am confident it will become a perfect healing Room with no shortage of repeat solo travelers who love tranquility. I look forward to future improvements.

    The mountains are beautiful!

    The views are simply outstanding. The mountain scenery is beautiful from the Room, the area in front of the front desk, and the restaurant—you’ll want to keep looking at it forever. The Onsen was also perfect: pleasantly warm, so I could relax and enjoy soaking in different baths. I’d love to come again!

    It’s been a while since my last online clinic.

    I visited again for the first time in about 10 years. The meals at the same Hotel in Karatsu were excellent, so I decided to return here as well. They upgraded our Room, which got me excited from the start, and the meals, baths, and overall atmosphere were all wonderful. My husband was also very satisfied with the valet service at both arrival and departure. It seemed busy during the day with many lunch and day-use bath guests, but we were able to spend a quiet evening. The complimentary drinks included with the Diamond benefits were also delicious.

    The open-air bath is wonderful.

    The Room was in a separate building and came with a bath, offering a great sense of privacy, and the stylish design was wonderful. There was also a coffee mill and complimentary coffee beans in the Room, so we could enjoy freshly ground coffee. The open-air bath felt very spacious, and the water temperature was pleasantly mild, allowing us to relax for a long time. Meals were served in a private dining room, so we could dine at ease; everything was delicious, especially the Saga beef grilled on a ceramic plate. It’s an Accommodation I would love to stay at again.

    The information differs from what was provided in the instructions.

    The meal I had been looking forward to was not as described. Since it clearly stated that grouper and squid would be included, I ordered the top-tier kaiseki course, “Takumi.” However, they were not available on the day. In the middle of the meal, a male service manager came over and made excuses, saying that the menu changes depending on that day’s deliveries. Our meal was interrupted, and afterward we ended up eating chawanmushi that had gone cold. After that, there was no follow-up or apology at all. I have stayed at this Accommodation dozens of times, but prices have gone up and quality has gone down. All I can say is: disappointing. Even during the meal, a family with children was very noisy, so it was impossible to enjoy dining.

    I have stayed here several times and tried three restaurants, with the teppanyaki being the most delicious. The service at the restaurant was polite, allowing for a pleasant dining experience. However, I would like to point out some areas for improvement: I used the shuttle service, but it was shared with multiple Chinese guests. One of them loaded luggage while smoking a cigarette, and the vehicle was filled with smoke. On my room floor as well, there were guests smoking with their doors left open, causing the entire floor to smell of cigarettes. I chose a non-smoking room for a reason; please consider separating smoking and non-smoking floors. Additionally, at the footbath area, there were groups of Chinese guests smoking as well, and even in the outdoor bath and changing rooms, there was an unpleasant smell of cigarettes. While this ryokan seems to be catering more towards inbound tourism lately, it unfortunately did not provide a relaxing stay as expected. This is very disappointing.

    Excellent service.

    This was my first time staying here. The building was impressive, giving the feeling of a luxurious Ryokan, which made me excited. Upon arrival at the carport, the front desk staff welcomed us warmly. At first, I was a bit concerned as the front desk staff seemed young, but their service was truly excellent. During the walk to our room, they explained everything thoroughly and engaged in pleasant conversation. The dinner was delicious and very satisfying; this is truly a wonderful Ryokan. The service at this accommodation is top-notch. However, there were two downsides: 1. As someone who enjoys hot baths, I found the Onsen disappointingly lukewarm for my preference. 2. This trip included my elderly mother; unfortunately, since we stayed in a detached room with many stairs and dimly lit paths along the way, it became dangerous for her to navigate safely. Despite being careful while walking, she fell during our stay and expressed regret about not being able to travel anymore after such an incident. I had hoped to take her on more trips to Onsen accommodations in the future but sadly that may no longer be possible now due to this experience.

    Choosing Furuyu Onsen was not a bad decision, and it is not the fault of the accommodation. However, being charged double for beer is a first-time experience.

    The initial staff re...

    The initial staff response upon arrival was not professional. The only saving grace was the female staff member who brought Welcome Coffee. The room is spacious but lacks a certain charm. The Onsen is excellent. The shop is extremely overpriced, making it unappealing to purchase anything. A convenience store-like shop would be helpful as there’s nothing else around the area.

    Relax with mountains and Onsen

    I wanted to have lunch near Saga Station, so the Shuttle Service from Saga Station was very helpful. It took about 30 minutes by car, and the location was deeper in the mountains than I imagined, with breathtaking views. The mountains right in front of us had changing weather with rain, clear skies, and even a rainbow—it was mesmerizing to watch. The Great Bath Renewal Plan was a great deal, and on top of that, the food was delicious and very satisfying. For someone like me who isn't fond of overly hot Onsen baths, this Onsen was perfect—absolutely amazing. I definitely want to visit again. The Room also had a great view and a relaxing living space where we could unwind comfortably. The hospitality was excellent as well; everything exceeded expectations, leaving us completely satisfied upon departure.

    Great views, great Room, and outstanding service. Excellent meals, an excellent dining area, and an excellent bath. It was a truly perfect Accommodation experience—one you rarely come across.

    Stunning views

    It was a Hotel with truly wonderful views from the Room and the building. The Room was also spacious, clean, and comfortable. Overall, I think it is an excellent Hotel. One concern was that there seemed to be too few staff overall, so service felt less attentive during check-in and at meals. Regarding amenities, the Room slippers were the same size for men and women, which felt far too large for women and potentially unsafe on stairs. It would also be convenient to have bath towels placed in the bathroom. For breakfast, I would have liked a bit more variety.

    Please provide additional guidance.

    As a Diamond Member benefit, alcohol was provided in the refrigerator, but there was no explanation whether it was complimentary or charged. I found out at the front desk during checkout. If I hadn't asked, I wouldn't have known if I could take it with me. At the restaurant, we were told to "order drinks," but it wasn't mentioned that they were cost-free until later. The website did say "enjoy beverages," though... Dinner times were at 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, but upon arrival at the hotel, we were told only 8:00 PM was available. Since we had a young child with us, it would be helpful if this could be selected during Reservation or if preferences could be communicated in advance. Some accommodations call to confirm details beforehand as well. Although we couldn't enjoy the Onsen this time, it's a great Accommodation and we'd like to stay again once the renovation of the large public bath is complete.

    It was a very satisfying stay. The meals were of high quality and all delicious! The room was simple yet lovely. The large public bath was spacious, and the open-air bath was also great!     It was excellent.

    It was a wonderful stay. As it was a birthday celebration, the accommodation upgraded our room and provided a dessert plate, taking a commemorative photo which they gifted us at checkout. The teppanyaki dinner was also very delicious, especially the ONCRI-yaki and bamboo shoot rice. The ONCRI-yaki was fluffy yet had crispy lotus root, while the bamboo shoot rice had shiny grains with an aromatic blend of bamboo shoots and broth that made me want to eat it again. My companion also expressed wanting to visit again. I would love to stay here again if given the chance.

    I discovered Furu-yu...

    I discovered Furu-yu Onsen while searching for an accommodation convenient for visiting the Yoshinogari Ruins. The lukewarm onsen here was perfect, allowing me to enjoy a long soak without feeling overheated. On the day of my stay, my room was upgraded, and I truly appreciated the spacious and relaxing environment. The tea-tasting experience with three different types of tea was also delightful. However, I noticed that the bathroom door was quite heavy, and leaving it open caused the toilet lid to remain open due to its sensor—this was a bit bothersome. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, offering a sense of local flavors and seasonal ingredients. That said, as someone with a shorter stature, I found it slightly uncomfortable eating at a sofa seat. The staff were all friendly and attentive; they carefully handled my friend's food allergy information which gave us peace of mind. In particular, the female staff member who guided us to our room provided exceptional service that left a lasting impression. I would love to stay here again when visiting Saga in the future!

    Snow and Open-Air Bath: The Perfect Combination!

    This was my second stay. The room had large windows with a great view, and the scenery was amazing. It happened to be snowing, and the sight of snow piling up on the trees was magical. I enjoyed watching the gently falling snow while relaxing on the tatami mat. There were five types of tea bags available, all delicious, and having water provided in a pitcher was very convenient. The onsen had lukewarm water, so I soaked for about an hour. Even though I used a half-body bathing style, it wasn’t too cold at all—the temperature made it easy to relax in the bath. Although only my body was immersed in the water, my face became smooth and soft afterward—it was surprising but wonderful! In the morning, I went to the open-air bath again; stepping barefoot into freshly fallen snow made a crunching sound that felt amusingly unique. Soaking in an outdoor hot spring while it’s snowing is truly unbeatable! The jet bath also felt intense yet satisfying. For dinner, we enjoyed a full-course French meal where each dish was carefully prepared and deliciously presented. The homemade ginger ale had just enough spiciness to suit my taste perfectly! However, although beef served as our main dish looked promising initially—it turned out slightly tough—making it hard-to-chew despite repeated attempts which left me somewhat disappointed overall still satisfied nonetheless altogether experience-wise! Unfortunately though during dinner time foreign guests nearby behaved loudly akin-to-pub-like atmosphere disrupting peaceful ambiance desired ideally instead quiet dining environment preferred ideally otherwise luck-dependent aspect beyond control entirely regrettable instance occurred detracting slightly overall impression ultimately however staff hospitality exceptional throughout entire stay leaving strong desire return future occasions assuredly likely repeat visits anticipated fond memories cherished warmly treasured moments relived joyfully eagerly awaited next opportunity arises undoubtedly

    Great value for money!

    It was a same-day reservation, but the service and food were excellent! The kids' room was spacious and clean. There were some areas like the room and elevator that weren't well-cleaned, and there were stains on the glasses, but the staff's response and other aspects were good, so I hope for improvements and would like to repeat my stay at this hotel!

    Seeking relaxation

    I made a reservation and used the facility on New Year's Day. I was happy to spend a relaxing time without doing anything on New Year's Day. The bath was lukewarm, which was nice as I could leisurely bathe with my child. Dinner was so-so.

    Even though it has been over 10 years, the Facility is very clean.

    I visited Furuyu Onsen for the first time. It seems my father, grandmother, and brother loved this place. Despite the high accommodation cost, there were many guests. The food was delicious.

    I had a very pleasant stay.

    The view was great, the food was delicious, the room was comfortable and clean, and it was wonderful to be able to drink coffee, water, and tea as I liked. Next time, I would like to have a multiple night stay at a leisurely pace.
