    Very satisfied with ...

    Very satisfied with the quality of the Onsen and the meals. Warm hospitality and an Accommodation that was kind to my elderly mother. My fish-loving husband also enjoyed fresh flounder. All of the dishes tasted great and were beautifully presented. The silky, soothing hot spring water felt wonderful—I soaked three times, morning and evening.

    A Warm and Welcoming Accommodation

    We stayed as a couple during our summer vacation. It was a small Accommodation, but the Room was spacious and had a nostalgic atmosphere. The Room had an Onsen with a rock bath, and it was not too hot—very relaxing and pleasant. Dinner was delicious across the board, and the sashimi, especially flounder, was outstanding. All the staff were very kind and attentive, so we were able to relax and unwind. Thank you very much.

    The hot spring water was excellent. The garden was spacious, and the food was delicious. However, one of the staff members appeared to be elderly and hard of hearing, and it seemed difficult for them.

    A Ryokan with a Beautiful Garden

    When making the Reservation, only the breakfast-only Plan was available, so unfortunately we couldn’t try the highly rated dinner. However, late check-in was possible, and although it was a Room without a view, it came with an Onsen. It was very reasonably priced, so we chose this Accommodation. The breakfast portion was just right, and the sesame-marinated sashimi in particular was delicious. After the meal we took a walk around the garden; it’s spacious and very pleasant, so I recommend it. The Room was clean and comfortable, but dust seemed to have built up in the hair dryer and it smelled burnt, which made me afraid to use it—this was my only disappointment, so I would appreciate maintenance on this point.

    We had a very relaxing stay.

    Perched on a hill overlooking the Hirado Ohashi Bridge, the in-Room Onsen bath was incredibly relaxing while enjoying the spectacular view. 1) The meals featured fresh, delicious Hirado flounder and yellowtail amberjack, with just the right portions, and they kindly accommodated requests such as changing seasoned rice to plain white rice. 2) Although there is no large public bath, it’s wonderful to be able to soak in the Onsen in your Room whenever you like. It warmed me up and I slept very well. 3) They carefully explained sightseeing spots such as Ikitsuki Island and free parking lots in town (up to 2 hours), which helped us sightsee efficiently from early the next morning. The service was attentive while keeping a comfortable distance. Perhaps because of the season, it was disappointing that there were so few tourists in Hirado. With its rich nature and World Heritage sites—and its importance in Japan’s diplomatic and trade history—I hope more people will visit. This Ryokan is also highly recommended.

    The Onsen was excell...

    The Onsen was excellent. The meal portions were just right, even for someone in their 50s like me, and they were very satisfying. I had a relaxing and leisurely stay. Thank you very much. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

    We received very disappointing service.

    The enjoyable daytime journey turned into a disappointment in an instant due to a change in the reserved room. From the moment I was shown to the room, I felt something was off. When I pointed out that it was not the reserved room, the staff explained, "Actually, there is an issue with the boiler temperature..." and added, "However, it’s of the same grade." This person also handled my check-in. I wish they had informed me about this change at that time at least. It felt like they were trying to let it slide unnoticed. While it's true that both rooms are of the same grade and price range, there were significant differences: from a twin bed to a single bed; from a spacious rock bath to a narrow and shallow barrier-free bath smaller than my home bathtub. I had been looking forward to enjoying the rock bath for over a month since making my reservation. The barrier-free room also had inconvenient features for me, leaving me frustrated and sleepless that night. Despite not being fully booked on that day, this was my first encounter with such poor service at an accommodation in my life. It feels like those without power have no choice but to accept such treatment silently. I just want to forget about this experience quickly.

    The Onsen was excellent.

    The private Onsen in the room was nice, though the water was not free-flowing but circulated. It wasn't very spacious, but having it all to yourself was great. However, the room was located through an outdoor path and felt like a regular house door structure, making it drafty and cold at the feet. The dinner area was partitioned off in what seemed like a check-in hallway for just one group, which felt makeshift and quite disappointing.

    Affordable and Comfortable

    The fresh sashimi of flounder and amberjack was absolutely delicious. The private room bath with Onsen water was very relaxing. Highly recommended when visiting Hirado.

    It was a quiet and lovely accommodation that made us forget the hustle and bustle of the city. The service was pleasant, calm, and relaxing. The room was well-maintained with a great view, allowing us to spend our time leisurely. The meals were perfectly portioned, and each dish was incredibly delicious. It is an accommodation that makes you want to visit again.

    After 1.5 years

    This was my second stay, and I was warmly welcomed even more than before. It was truly refreshing. The large rock bath attached to the Room can be used multiple times, and the meals were exceptionally delicious. I decided to use this place regularly. I confidently recommended it to my acquaintances.

    A Highly Satisfying Stay

    The meals in the morning and evening are incredibly delicious. The flounder sashimi with grated momiji radish and the crispy, lightly battered fried dishes were especially delightful. The room is clean and meticulously maintained. The bath water in the private room bath is at a comfortable temperature, not too hot, making it enjoyable for multiple soaks. Located in a quiet area where only the sounds of insects and birds can be heard, it's perfect for relaxation. The service was attentive and thoughtful, allowing me to unwind completely. I would love to visit again if I have another opportunity. In past reviews, some mentioned dining outside their rooms; however, I had my meals served in-room. In-room dining is very relaxing, so I hope this service continues!

    The flounder sashimi...

    The flounder sashimi was sweet and very delicious. I warmed up in the thick Onsen water. The temperature of the Room bath was just right, and it felt very pleasant. It was also nice to enjoy the sunrise while taking a bath in the morning.

    Hirame Festival

    I went to Hirado because I wanted to eat delicious flounder. I was attracted by the calm atmosphere of the property and made a reservation. They changed my room to one with a nice view, and I had dinner and breakfast in the room while enjoying the scenery. It was my first experience (usually, meals are served in a dining area). The service provided by the elderly staff who took care of our meals was very warm, and I enjoyed our conversations very much. The temperature of the onsen bath in the room was just right, and I spent all my time there. It turned out to be a very good trip. Thank you very much.

    Close!

    There was one spot where the tatami was worn out! Everything else was good, so I gave 4 stars for the Facility and equipment only! The staff were very courteous, and the Hirame Matsuri cuisine was excellent. I would like to visit again in a different season.

    It is a nice Onsen.

    However, it was a bit lukewarm. It would have been better if it was a bit warmer! The food was also delicious. There were various creative touches that made it enjoyable. Everyone was very polite and took great care of us. Thank you very much.
