    The Best Ocean View

    The view from the Room feels like you’re in Okinawa or even Hawaii. The bath with an ocean view was amazing, and the toilet was surprisingly impressive. The spiny lobster sashimi at dinner was outstanding. The spiny lobster miso soup for breakfast and the freshly grilled dried horse mackerel were also very delicious. We’ll definitely be back.

    Just a short walk to Yumigahama Beach.

    I chose this place because I wanted to stay somewhere with a beautiful ocean view, not necessarily to play in the sea. The view was wonderful. Maybe you were aiming for a Hawaiian-style atmosphere...? I did want to walk along the beach, so it was great that it was so close. After breakfast, I was able to take a relaxing stroll on the beach until checkout. When going back up to the Room, there was a shower to rinse off sand and towels for drying your feet, which made things very comfortable. Although I couldn’t use the large public bath before checkout, I used the outdoor bath and shower on the balcony of my Room to wash my feet properly, so I could head home feeling clean and refreshed without any sticky sensation. One concern was that the air from the air conditioner had an odor. There was a smell when using cooling mode; switching to dry mode made it a bit better, which helped, but I would like you to address this issue.

    The Best Summer Vacation

    We had the best summer vacation, enjoying the Onsen, the beach, and great meals with a panoramic view of Yumigahama Beach. It’s not fancy, but it has a warm, homey feel—like coming back to your grandparents’ house. The location is so close that Yumigahama feels like a private beach. The seafood meals were fresh, generous in portion, and delicious. Thank you very much.

    Excellent location

    The ocean-view Room and lobby were very clean, and we felt in a resort mood from the moment we arrived. We were also happy that the Room had a small open-air bath, and it was especially memorable to relax while looking out at the sea. As for the meals, considering how satisfied we were with the location and guest room, we honestly didn’t have very high expectations, but the content felt appropriate for the price. Rather than forcing a traditional multi-course kaiseki style, we think satisfaction would be even higher if you offered simple yet delicious options using local ingredients—such as set meals or seafood rice bowls. On the other hand, breakfast was more than satisfactory given the Accommodation Fee. Overall, this was an Accommodation with great appeal in its Room and views, and one we would like to use again during beach season. Next time, we plan to make a Reservation with a Plan without dinner and enjoy dining at local restaurants.

    It was clean and relaxing.

    It’s a small, quiet Accommodation with a calm, intimate atmosphere. Each Room has an open-air bath, but it is not an Onsen. Both breakfast and dinner are Japanese cuisine featuring plenty of fresh seafood. With a gentle bay right in front, you can enjoy swimming in the sea with peace of mind. There are many insects outside, so it may be difficult for those who dislike bugs.

    I was soothed by the sound of the waves and the beautiful scenery...

    A real hidden gem—this Accommodation was amazing, with the soothing sound of gentle waves on the sandy beach of a calm, rounded bay. An Accommodation like nothing I’ve ever seen before. The food—especially the seafood—was excellent. It was an unforgettable stay. For some reason, the view from the toilet was incredible (lol). I’d love to visit again if I get the chance. Thank you very much.

    The view was spectacular.

    The view of Yumigahama Beach from the Room was wonderful. The beach is right in front of you, so you can take a walk anytime. Nothing felt particularly inconvenient, but it didn’t seem as baby-friendly as you might expect for an Accommodation designated as “Welcome Baby.” We had requested bedding for a young child when making the Reservation, but it was not provided. There is no diaper trash bin, so you will need to bring your own bags. The kids’ meal was quite strongly seasoned, so we were selective about what we served our child. All the staff were kind and made our stay pleasant.

    Excellent!

    The staff were kind and made our stay very comfortable. In particular, one of the international staff members in the dining area was incredibly warm and helpful. We traveled with children, and they seated guests with kids in a separate Room, so we could enjoy our meal without worrying about disturbing others. We made a Reservation for our toddler without meals, but they kindly prepared rice and furikake for us, which we really appreciated. Both dinner and breakfast were luxurious, delicious, and more than enough—we were completely satisfied. The view from the Room was wonderful, and soaking in the bath while listening to the sound of the sea was truly relaxing. The beach is right outside, which made our child very happy. We would love to stay again.

    Luxurious time spent with an ocean view

    We chose this Accommodation because we wanted to see Shimoda’s blue sea. We didn’t have very high expectations for the Room with an open-air bath, but soaking leisurely in the bath on the balcony while listening to the sound of the waves and looking out over Shirahama was truly a luxurious experience. It was a little disappointing that the sea wasn’t even more beautiful because of the weather! Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the portions were just right for our age. I was also surprised when my husband—who rarely gives compliments—said, “I’d like to stay here again.” We would definitely love to stay again.

    An Accommodation with Beautiful Scenery

    The scenery was first-class. The meals were delicious. The Facility was kept clean, and we were able to spend our time comfortably. We travel very often, and this Ryokan fully met our expectations. Thank you very much.

    The room had a private open-air bath, but it was small.

    The large public bath and its open-air bath were great. Onsen. We stayed in a guest Room with an open-air bath, but it was small. It’s hard to say whether it’s worth paying extra for this Room. Also, the meals were delicious, but instead of adding something like sukiyaki, a simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino)—even just a fillet or half—would feel more like Shimoda.

    The view is amazing.

    The ocean view from the Room was amazing. The weather was cloudy, but I was still happy to hear the sound of the waves from morning to night and enjoy a walk. I think we would have been able to see even more stars at night if there hadn’t been clouds. The meals included plenty of fish, and the staff were very attentive. I’d like to visit again in summer!     Spring Girls’ Trip

    We stayed here in March for a girls’ trip. We were welcomed at a lovely entrance, and the interior had a calm, chic atmosphere with a wonderful view of the coast. Above all, the food was outstanding. The Accommodation’s signature spiny lobster was served as sashimi, and the appetizers were beautifully presented with spring-inspired colors—both delicious and gorgeous. The Onsen is sodium-rich and gives you that seaside feel. All rooms have an open-air bath, but this time we were fully satisfied with the large public bath and the open-air bath. The price was very reasonable, and Yumigahama Beach is right in front of you, so we’d love to come back again in summer.

    A bit disappointing.

    While I understand that the Facility is old, the noise from the air conditioning or some other machine was so loud that I couldn’t sleep. I would like this to be improved. Also, regarding the meals, dessert was served while I was still enjoying drinks, so I couldn’t relax and drink at my own pace. I think it would be better to have more consideration for each guest’s timing.

    An open-air bath with breathtaking views of Yumigahama Beach

    The location was excellent, and the amenities and service were just right, making for a very comfortable stay. The meal portions were also perfect for a middle-aged couple. What stood out most was the spa. I was thrilled to meet a therapist with outstanding skills and hospitality. My goal—to soak in the Onsen, get a massage, and then go straight to sleep—was fully satisfied. One point off because the in-room bath was not an Onsen and is only for one person.

    The breathtaking views left a lasting impression and created wonderful memories. The meals, featuring fish, vegetables, and seaweed, were both healthy and delicious. While the Room's bath is slightly small, the view it offers is truly stunning. Considering the price balance, it is an excellent Room overall. The experienced and composed staff added to the experience with their kind words during meals and upon departure, which was deeply touching.

    Very satisfied.

    The view was fantastic, and the large public bath was perfect. However, regarding the private open-air bath in the room, it was quite small and not an Onsen (which I understood as it was clearly stated). As a result, I ended up using the large public bath to fully enjoy the Onsen. The staff were very polite and attentive, so no complaints there. However, as someone who values private open-air baths in rooms, I would have appreciated a slightly larger bath. This time I chose a no-meal plan, but next time I'd like to try a different plan.

    It was a relaxing trip.

    The area was quiet with no distractions, and the TV only had terrestrial channels, allowing us to enjoy a digital detox while listening to the sound of waves and relaxing in the private open-air bath. The Room was very clean, and soaking in the open-air bath while hearing the waves was absolutely wonderful. One suggestion: it would have been nice to have cotton swabs in the Room for after bathing or makeup purposes. Also, I think it would be great if there were some light snacks available at the shop for nighttime munching. To fully enjoy stargazing from the private open-air bath, a slightly more open view would have been ideal, but overall it was an incredibly satisfying experience.

    Relaxing

    Recently, it has been difficult to relax quietly anywhere due to the large number of foreign tourists, but there were no foreign tourists at this accommodation. I stayed for a long 5 nights and enjoyed delicious breakfasts every morning, took leisurely walks on the beach, and had a relaxing time. The guest room was also clean and provided a comfortable stay.

    Hmm.

    The accommodation is located on a hill overlooking the entire Yumigahama, offering an excellent location. You can enjoy the ever-changing scenery from the balcony or large windows while lying on a daybed without getting bored. The sound of the waves is soothing, and you can experience luxurious moments of doing nothing, which is truly relaxing. The Onsen features slightly salty, clear water that leaves your skin smooth, and as seen in JR posters, the open-air bath offers stunning views. However, there were some disappointing aspects to note during my stay. Only women's samue (traditional Japanese loungewear) were provided—a service I had never encountered before and found surprising. I was also expecting skincare products from C-Labo as mentioned but found only common bottled items in the public bath area instead of what I had heard about. For meals, I enjoyed fresh spiny lobster sashimi; however, dishes being served at a rapid pace like wanko soba took away from savoring each dish properly. Breakfast had several disappointing elements that diminished my initial excitement upon arrival. I wondered about the concept of this accommodation—it has a very quiet atmosphere with calming calligraphy decor throughout. However, seeing staff loudly scolding foreign employees or speaking to guests with their backs turned gave off an impression reminiscent of being in a workplace environment rather than a relaxing retreat. Additionally, accepting large tour buses made me question if it operates more like modern chain hotels? Is there even any need for welcoming guests upon arrival? I hope to take home lasting memories of Yumigahama's beautiful scenery despite these mixed impressions during my stay here.

    I had been curious about ◯◯, and it was just as wonderful as I imagined! You can enjoy views of Yumigahama from the room and restroom, and soak in the private bath while listening to the sound of waves... It was such a luxurious experience. The beach is accessible through the entrance of the public bath, giving a private beach-like feel. Traveling with small children, being able to head straight to the public bath after enjoying the beach was incredibly convenient. Please note that there are no snacks (like chocolate or chips) available at the shop, so it's recommended to purchase them in advance if needed. The Shuttle Service from Shimoda Station made our train trip to Izu very comfortable. The staff were kind and made our stay very pleasant. Thank you for taking care of us!

    Accommodation for the purpose of swimming in the sea

    Based on the review highlighting the convenience of accessing the beach directly from the room and the delicious meals, I made a reservation. It met my expectations, and I was satisfied. If there is room for improvement, it would be to update necessary areas while maintaining its Showa retro charm. Returning to a room with futons laid out after dinner, there was an unpleasant urine smell, and sleeping on the futon worsened my back pain. I suggest improving mattresses as a solution. By the way, the toilet had an automatic lid-opening feature. If bedding is improved in the future, I would consider staying again.

    This is the place to stay when visiting Minami-Izu!

    This trip was for boat fishing with friends, so we made a reservation with No Meals Included. Despite the late-night check-in and early morning check-out, everything went smoothly. Since we checked in late at night, the large public bath was practically private, which was amazing. The night front desk staff happened to be a fishing enthusiast, and during our conversation, they suggested taking another bath after returning from fishing. Thanks to that suggestion, we enjoyed another refreshing bath after fishing—it felt like heaven. Thank you so much, Mr./Ms. ○○! We look forward to staying here again in the future.

    A Hidden Retreat at Yumigahama

    A very peaceful place, truly relaxing. Thanks to this stay, I was able to relieve my daily fatigue. The calm sea right in front was beautiful, and I’d love to come back in the summer with my grandchildren. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! This is what a Japanese breakfast should be like—something I’d be happy to eat every day. The service from the staff was wonderful as well. I will definitely return!

    The best location with a room offering a stunning ocean view from the lobby. The cleanliness throughout the facility was excellent. Surprisingly, you can even see the ocean from the toilet in the room—what a rare and unique experience!

    View from the Room

    Stayed here after a golf trip with a friend. Made the reservation because my wife wanted to stay here once. The view from the room was the best among all accommodations we have stayed at so far. The open-air bath while listening to the sound of waves was also amazing. We will visit again, thank you!
