  Only the Room was disappointing.

  We stayed here for a 60th birthday trip. The accommodation is conveniently located near Yufuin's Yunotsubo Kaido. We were allowed to park from early afternoon, which was helpful. We stayed in a thatched-roof room, but unfortunately, there was a strong musty smell, and my wife had to sleep wearing a mask. Perhaps having an irori (traditional Japanese hearth) might improve the atmosphere. The steamed sweet potatoes, eggs, and milk provided in the rest area in the morning were delicious. There were also many insects in the room; we encountered many ants and even got bitten by them.
