    I’ll come back to stay longer next time.

    This time, since I wanted an Onsen close to Yonago Airport, I chose Kaike Onsen. I was satisfied with the Room, the Onsen, and the meals. However, upon arrival: There was only one person at the front desk, and no one came to greet me at the entrance. (For some reason, when I left they saw me off the whole time?) I stopped in front of the entrance to unload my luggage, then parked my car on my own in a distant parking lot. When I entered, they were assisting the previous guest and didn’t say “Welcome” or even “Please wait,” which made me feel like I wasn’t being welcomed. I wanted to come again during crab season, but…

    We stayed at this accommodation for a girls' trip to Tottori and Shimane. We were tempted by the infinity bath and considered the sister accommodation, Kaike Yugetsu, but decided on Shogetsu as there was availability in a Japanese-style room and we received a bathing ticket as part of the Diamond Member benefits. The beach view and Onsen were absolutely amazing... Dinner was served in the room, and it was incredibly delicious. It turned out to be a very satisfying trip!

    There is a significant difference...

    I stayed here this year after staying at Yuzuki last year. However, Yuzuki was better in every aspect. Since the price difference is not significant, I should have chosen Yuzuki again. It was disappointing.

    Dinner is exceptional.

    Two nights ago, I made a Reservation for one night. Having visited Matsue many times, this time I went to the Lafcadio Hearn Memorial Museum. The streets around Matsue Castle always have a calm and serene atmosphere. I arrived at the Hotel a bit earlier than expected but was warmly welcomed and offered drinks and sweets in the lounge. The Room was a Japanese-style room on the second floor with an open-air bath. However, as it was close to beachgoers outside, I used it with the shutters closed. The indoor bathroom with a shower and the open-air bath were separate, and since there was no place to wash outside near the open-air bath, I found it inconvenient to use. The layout of the Room seemed slightly compromised due to having an open-air bath inside. Additionally, only one private bath was available for use—perhaps because of many beachgoers. The Room itself was clean and well-maintained. However, what stood out most was dinner—it was absolutely fantastic! From sashimi to hot pot dishes and meat dishes, everything highlighted the natural flavors of each ingredient without being overly elaborate. The timing of each dish's arrival at our table was perfect as well; we could enjoy our meal leisurely while savoring some sake in peace. I would love to visit again just for their amazing cuisine!

    This was my first time staying here. The room was spacious and clean, and I was very satisfied with the food, onsen, and the entire facility. I was able to relax and refresh myself. Although there was some noise from the neighboring room, it was promptly addressed, for which I am grateful. I would love to make this my regular accommodation every year. Thank you very much!

    Private Bath

    I stayed in a luxurious private room with an open-air bath this time. The garden-attached open-air bath in the room was wonderful. Previously, the private open-air baths required a Reservation, making it difficult to secure usage time, but this time I thought it was great that they could be used anytime when available. However, while the garden bath was nice, when I entered the rock bath, it seemed like it hadn't been properly cleaned after the previous user—there was sand and shampoo left in a bucket. Without proper cleaning, I didn't feel comfortable using it and thought that having Reservations as before might provide more peace of mind. As for the meals, they were as satisfying as always and much appreciated.

    A Perfect Family Getaway

    Our annual family trip with our grown-up children was a perfect choice this year at Shogetsu. The accommodation had a calm and mature atmosphere, and we were thrilled to have our room upgraded to a spacious one with an ocean view. We wish we had checked in earlier to enjoy more of this wonderful accommodation. Upon departure, the foreign hotel staff who took our photo did an excellent job, and even the staff from the neighboring sister hotel came out to see us off, leaving us with warm memories.     It felt like a mix between a Ryokan and a Hotel, allowing for a relaxing and leisurely stay. The Room and the interior were clean, making for a pleasant experience.

    We used this place f...

    We used this place for our first trip with our 0-year-old daughter to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The guidance inside the facility upon arrival was smooth, allowing us to relax in our room immediately. The room seemed to be renovated, very clean, and the air conditioning was comfortable. Since we had informed them about our 0-year-old daughter, they had prepared a diaper trash can and a baby chair at the dining venue in advance. When our daughter cried during the meal and my husband had to return to the room, they kindly brought the remaining food to our room. We are a couple who love delicious food, and we were very satisfied with the dishes, especially the nodoguro and matsutake. The staff's hospitality healed not only our bodies, tired from postpartum and childcare, but also our hearts. I'm glad that our first family trip as a family of three was here. Thank you very much.
