    In a quiet location,...

    In a quiet location, I was able to relax and take my time. Breakfast was excellent. In addition to the buffet, there was a wide variety of dishes made with local ingredients, and I was very satisfied.

    You were seated with someone else.

    At breakfast, even though the venue was almost empty, I was seated at a shared table with someone I didn’t know. An unacceptable operational mistake. I won’t stay here again. I chose this place because an acquaintance runs it, but this kind of operation is unacceptable. Amenities were not provided in the Room. There was no explanation, so I used my own toothbrush.

    A Journey to Oshu

    I stayed here while sightseeing at Chuson-ji. It was very reasonably priced even with a full-course dinner included. My Room was on the 4th floor, and it was spacious and relaxing. The view was a bit disappointing because the garden on the balcony wasn’t well maintained. I appreciated being able to stay at this price within about an hour from Sendai. Thanks to you, it was a very good trip.

    Damage from Pet Waste in the Parking Lot

    I had no complaints about the Hotel itself and appreciated my stay. My only concern was the parking area. When I went to my car before departure, it was covered in an unbelievable amount of bird droppings. Not only is this bad for the paintwork, but losing over 30 minutes cleaning it off was a major inconvenience when I had a busy business schedule from early morning. Looking at the ground, it seems this has been an ongoing issue for some time. Unless this is improved, I would not consider staying here again.

    Thank you very much. I thought it would be the same as a regular Hotel, but it was kind and pleasant. There was only breakfast available, but the quality was good. I would like to use it again when visiting Iwate Prefecture.

    Please consider things from the guest's perspective!

    It was raining heavily during checkout. When I asked the woman at the front desk if there were any taxis available, she replied, "There are no taxis stationed here, so we would need to call one." Her response gave the impression that calling a taxi for such a short distance (a 20-30 minute walk to the station) was not preferred. She did not ask, "Shall I call one for you?" at all. As someone nearing 70 years old, my wife and I had to share one umbrella while pulling our suitcase and walked to the station soaking wet. I wish there had been more considerate service from their side. It was disappointing.

    We chose this accommodation because it offered free parking, which was convenient for our car trip. The room was well-cleaned and had a fresh, clean atmosphere. Although it may not matter to everyone, the refrigerator's cooling performance was slightly lacking, so we deducted one star for the facility rating. Since we planned to leave early in the morning, we opted for breakfast—and it turned out to be an excellent decision. In addition to set meals, guests could select their preferred dishes. Each plate of food, such as bacon and salad, was individually wrapped—likely as part of infection prevention measures—which added a great sense of cleanliness. Every dish was delicious, and even the rice was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Breakfast is highly recommended!

    I had a relaxing time.

    The quality of the Room's design and furnishings was impressive. The spacious interior featured very comfortable chairs, allowing for a relaxing time watching TV. Due to what seemed like a staffing shortage, there was only one person at reception, so I had to wait for a while. Breakfast had a local touch and was very delicious, with attentive service from the staff making it an enjoyable experience.

    Great value for the price.

    Close to Chūson-ji Temple, this accommodation was considered due to its good cost-performance. Since there seemed to be no nearby restaurants, we opted for a plan with dinner and breakfast included, which still offered great value. The building is old, but the lobby and rooms are well-cleaned and sufficiently clean. However, the room lighting is dim, and the centrally controlled air conditioning makes fine adjustments impossible, which was a bit disappointing. As it was a weekday in summer, there seemed to be few guests. Perhaps because of this, the staff appeared minimal but provided attentive service nonetheless.

    Convenient Accommodation for Travelers by Car - Great Location

    If you're planning to visit Hiraizumi, Geibikei, or Maesawa by car, the location is excellent. Parking is free, and parking spaces are reserved for guests. The facility rating is 4 stars because although there is a restaurant on-site, it only operates if reservations have been made in advance. Since I booked with no meals included, I looked for nearby restaurants but found mostly family-style chain restaurants. However, there’s a Drug Aoki and a 7-Eleven nearby; Drug Aoki offers fresh groceries at more affordable prices compared to 7-Eleven. You can store your purchases in the refrigerator provided in the room for breakfast without any issues. It takes about 30 minutes by car to Maesawa, so we drove there to enjoy Maesawa beef for dinner. The room was clean and satisfactory. The hairdryer provided in the room was also decent quality. This accommodation is highly recommended if you’re traveling by car!

    The selection was based on the location for visiting Chusonji Temple and Mount Kurikoma. It is a Business Hotel. Breakfast was good. It would be better to mention on the reservation page that dinner requires a reservation at least two days in advance. Dinner options were limited to family restaurants only.

    The building was decent, but the Hotel lacked a sense of hospitality. The Room and restaurant sofas were worn out, making it hard to relax. Breakfast hours were from 7:00 AM to 9:30 AM, and I planned to go based on when I woke up, but being asked what time I would eat felt uncomfortable.

    The Limits of Hospitality

    Stayed overnight after visiting Hiraizumi, preparing for the next day's travel to Miyagi. Positive Points: Although the hallways and water facilities felt outdated, the room was spacious enough and easy to use. Negative Points: Lack of consideration for guests. Despite being a mistake on the hotel's part, we were treated as if it was our fault. The plan name mentioned "No Meals Included," but it had an icon indicating breakfast included, along with details about breakfast content and timing. Based on this information, I booked under the assumption that breakfast was included. On the morning of our stay, when I asked at the front desk about the breakfast venue, I received a very suspicious look and was followed to the venue only to be stopped right before entering to confirm my reservation status. I showed them my screen with plan details explaining that it indicated breakfast included in my reservation; however, after several exchanges back and forth, even when I repeatedly said things like "Then forget about breakfast; just refund me," they ignored me entirely and dismissed it by saying "It's part of a package price." Finally, they reluctantly allowed us access with an attitude suggesting dissatisfaction while stating from their perspective that "You may use breakfast without additional charges." The large banquet hall used as a dining area had only about six people present in total—it felt lonely without windows or atmosphere. While labeled as a buffet-style meal service—salads were merely placed individually on small plates per person alongside limited options—and later during service time pre-set Japanese side dishes were distributed instead which hardly qualified as buffet dining experience overall. Being treated suspiciously combined with starting one's day inside such desolate surroundings could have been mitigated somewhat if there had been any thoughtfulness towards guest feelings involved—potentially leading toward better hospitality impressions overall. Unfortunately though initially enjoying Ichinoseki upon arrival—the experience left such negative impressions behind making me regret not simply moving onward directly toward Sendai instead where staying might’ve proven worthwhile otherwise altogether!

    The cherry blossoms are beautiful...

    This was my first stay, and the cherry blossoms in full bloom were absolutely beautiful. The Hotel and Room were on the older side but very clean. The room temperature was slightly warm even with the air conditioning on, so I rated it minus 1 point. I chose a breakfast-included Plan, which offered a small buffet and set meals, all of which were incredibly delicious. The rice was especially tasty. I will definitely stay here again!
