    Relaxing Summer Vacation

    I came to relax during my summer vacation and enjoy a delicious breakfast. From check-in, the staff were attentive and guided me to my Room with kind, gentle communication. I chose a Room with a king-size bed. With its bright wood-toned design, it was spacious and comfortable for two people. I enjoyed watching a maiko dance, taking photos together, and having welcome drinks. The location is ideal for cultural sightseeing, with attractions such as Sanjusangendo Temple and the Kyoto National Museum nearby. The breakfast I had been looking forward to was unique: the main dish is cooked to order, while side dishes are served buffet-style. I ordered salmon Eggs Benedict, French toast, and an omelet as main dishes—all were truly delicious. It made for a wonderful breakfast time. Sanjusangendo Temple is right next door, so I visited immediately after breakfast. I also made use of the benefits of my IKYU Diamond membership, which helped make it a great summer vacation. I heard the property will be closing soon due to rebuilding plans—such a shame. If I have the chance, I would love to stay again.

    It is a good Hotel.

    I’ve stayed here several times. The location is great and very convenient, and I really like the Facility and the pleasant service from the Hotel staff. It’s a bit old, but it’s well cleaned and comfortable. I’m planning to visit one more time before it closes!

    The Hyatt of Your Dreams

    I took time off work to stay one night at Hyatt Regency Kyoto. At the front desk, the restaurant, and throughout the Hotel, I truly felt the pride of a first-class Hotel in the outstanding hospitality shown to guests. I was especially moved by the warm service from the staff at Cafe 33. Thank you very much. Despite closing due to aging facilities, the lobby and guest room were beautiful and impeccably clean. I am highly sensitive—especially to sound—but there were no footsteps or everyday noises from other guests in my room, and I was able to experience exceptional quiet. I strongly hope to stay again before it closes. Thank you.

    Winter in Kyoto — at Hyatt Regency Kyoto

    Although it was only a one-night stay, my first time back at this Hotel in a while—breakfast included—was just as I had hoped, and I was able to enjoy winter in Kyoto’s Higashiyama area. They responded promptly to my request regarding the heating, and since it was the off-season and a Monday, I could savor a delicious breakfast in a quiet, relaxed atmosphere. Kyoto is cold at this time of year, with a chill that seeps into your bones, but for me, winter at the Hyatt Regency is the best season.

    The underground Room...

    The underground Room offered a view of the garden, and I enjoyed a relaxing time with the curtains open. The Room was spacious, the bath and shower were convenient to use, and the amenities had a pleasant fragrance. For meals, I used cafe33 for both dinner and breakfast. While the menu was not extensive, it was sufficient for a light meal. Next time, I would like to try Higashiyama for Japanese cuisine.

    You can enjoy a spec...

    You can enjoy a special performance by a Maiko, and both the café dinner and breakfast were incredibly delicious. The Room was clean, and when I wanted to take a taxi to the nighttime light-up event but there were no taxis at the Hotel, they quickly went out to the street to call one for me. Truly an amazing Hotel! I definitely want to stay here again!

    Satisfaction Guaranteed!

    We stayed for one night to visit our son who started attending university in Kyoto, and also to welcome another son returning temporarily from overseas. The BBQ was enjoyable with cooler weather due to a passing shower, no mosquitoes, and delicious meat! The location was excellent, and as Diamond members, we had a 2 PM checkout which allowed us to relax and enjoy sightseeing fully. We were very satisfied. Thank you!

    As a Diamond member, there was no explanation provided about the membership benefits during check-in. I had to inquire myself and confirm details such as free parking, which left me feeling uneasy. However, upon receiving the payment statement at check-out, parking fees were charged. I noticed this just in time and pointed it out. Although I addressed the issue calmly, the staff member only responded with a smirk and offered no explanation or apology. I am writing this to suggest paying closer attention to payment statements in the future.

    Comfortable Stay

    I stayed at the accommodation after a long time. Since I arrived early, I rested at the café on the first floor, and they kindly offered my drink as a welcome drink. The room was very comfortable, and I could relax in the bath as well. The Italian restaurant exceeded expectations with its delicious dishes, especially the very tasty vegetables. Being a compact-sized hotel, it felt very calm and relaxing. I would love to stay again.

    It was a very good Hotel. We enjoyed a welcome drink in the lovely lounge while looking at the garden, which heightened our expectations for the stay. The breakfast buffet was small but everything was delicious, and my daughter and I especially liked the French toast.

    Service

    On the second day, when I went out and returned, the room card key showed an error. I went to the front desk to report it, and they handed me a new card key as if it were the most natural thing, without any explanation. When I asked what the cause was, they said that sometimes this happens, without a word of apology. I felt it was below the standard of a Business Hotel.

    A hotel I don't want to tell many people about,

    About 10 minutes from Kyoto Station, adjacent to Chishakuin, Yogenin, Sanjusangendo, and the Kyoto National Museum, it is very quiet and comfortable, and I have recently decided to stay here for my trips to Kyoto. This time, my elderly mother accompanied me, and she was satisfied with the ambiance and service of the Hotel. We will be in your care again.

    Stays after a long time

    I received an invitation to an exhibition at a certain imported car dealership, so I stayed with my wife for the first time in over 10 years. However, the property was well-maintained, and despite being 18 years since its opening, there were no signs of aging. In terms of service, it felt inferior compared to when I used to visit before. I used the restaurant Higashiyama, and at that time, the manager wanted customers to enjoy surprises, so they provided various surprises. However, during this visit, there was not a single surprise. Even though I had reserved a table, I was guided without confirming my name, so I had to point it out to be moved. Not only the negative aspects, but I was very grateful and made good use of the IKYU.com Diamond benefits such as free parking, late checkout, and a free drink. I can't stay frequently, but it's a hotel I want to use occasionally.

    The Japanese-style garden was lovely.

    The Japanese-style garden visible from the window gave a sense of Kyoto's charm. On the way back from breakfast, we went to see the autumn leaves at the nearby Chion-in. Since it was still a time with few tourists, we were able to take good photos. We returned to the Room and relaxed before checking out, making it a fulfilling day.

    Overall, it was disappointing.

    This was my first time staying on the first floor of a hotel. The room was completely visible from the restaurant, so I had to keep the roller blinds down all the time, which meant I couldn't look outside. I usually enjoy the open feeling and the view from the window when traveling, so it was quite disappointing to feel so closed off. Regarding the room, I would have appreciated being informed in advance if the roller blinds couldn't be opened. If I had known, I might not have chosen this hotel. Overall, the staff lacked enthusiasm. One staff member I asked about the location of the restaurant had a surprisingly unpleasant attitude, although there were also some genuinely kind staff members (especially in the restaurant). I've stayed at several hotels over the past few years, and they've all been good, so feeling disappointed is a rare experience for me. It pains me to write something negative in a review, but I had to give a low rating.
