    A relaxing Accommodation that feels like coming home

    I first stayed here on New Year’s Day last year, and since I live alone, I was truly delighted to enjoy traditional New Year’s dishes. The warm hospitality made me a big fan. Ever since then, whenever I stay in Kyoto, I always choose Yuzuya Ryokan. I’ve already visited twice this year, and it feels like coming home each time. I’m planning to stay again in August, and I’m looking forward to treating myself to the delicious meals and the yuzu bath.

    Everything is exceptional.

    I stayed for one night last autumn and it was amazing, so this time I stayed for two nights. For both breakfast and dinner on the first and second days, they prepared different menus each day. Everything was absolutely delicious! The Ai Room was spacious, and the fresh flowers were adorable and beautiful. After dinner, floating yuzu in the cypress bath and soaking slowly was a blissful moment that made me forget everyday life. The yuzu served with the meals and in the bath were large and impressive. It’s in a prime location in Kyoto, right next to Yasaka Shrine, with an excellent atmosphere. Transportation is convenient, making it an easy base for sightseeing. It makes you want to stay again and again! I’ll be back!

    A very relaxing Ryokan

    A small and cozy pure Japanese-style Ryokan with a total of 8 rooms. The bath filled with floating yuzu is incredibly relaxing and has an amazing fragrance. It feels wonderful to immerse yourself in your own private space, making it truly a blessing to stay here. The staff's thoughtful attention to detail is deeply appreciated. This accommodation is very welcoming for solo travelers.

    Charming Accommodation and Delicious Meals

    I stayed for one night with breakfast included. Located right next to Yasaka Shrine, the entrance itself is exciting. Upon entering, the gentle scent of yuzu greets you and provides a sense of relaxation. The charm of the accommodation and the meals were wonderful, but the hospitality was exceptionally polite as well. They kindly assisted with phone inquiries and yukata size exchanges. I also used their luggage carry service for both arrival and departure, which was handled with great care. The steep stairs made it challenging to carry suitcases, so their help was greatly appreciated. The room was very comfortable to stay in. Since it's close to a main street, you can hear cars and motorcycles from outside, which might bother some guests who are sensitive to noise. The bath area is small—suitable for about two people at most—but when I used it, no one else was there so I could fully enjoy the yuzu bath experience. Breakfast in such a lovely setting was delightful; luxurious small dishes and yuzu porridge were incredibly delicious! They even adjusted the menu due to obtaining high-quality meat and served simmered beef tongue tip instead—it made me very happy! The yuzu juice was so tasty that I wish it had been available for purchase. It seems popular among international guests; however, I believe this place is perfect for Japanese travelers seeking an elegant atmosphere where they can savor delicious food quietly during an adult getaway. I regret having an early checkout due to morning plans—I would have loved more time here! Next time I visit, I'll make sure to stay longer and enjoy everything at a leisurely pace.

    An accommodation that makes you want to visit again.

    Perfect location right next to Yasaka Shrine. We were captivated by the charm of the traditional Kyoto townhouse and delighted by the delicious dinner and breakfast. As the meals may vary with the seasons, we look forward to visiting again during a different season. Thank you for your hospitality this time.

    Yuzu Bath in a Cypress Tub

    I stayed during the Gion Festival. With an excellent location right next to the south gate of Yasaka Shrine, the building seemed quite old and there were some issues like leaks, but I was immediately provided with another room, so there was no problem at all. The facilities were kept clean, and I could feel thoughtful attention to detail. When I went out and got caught in the rain, my body felt cold, so I used the large cypress bath on the first floor. It featured a yuzu bath typical of Yuzuya Ryokan. Although it wasn’t an Onsen, the gentle water felt very pleasant. I believe the bathing hours for the large bath were from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM; however, it was a bit disappointing that they were relatively short. For meals, I only had breakfast, but as a fan of yuzu flavors, I loved their delicious yuzu porridge! This has become one of my favorite Ryokans where I'd love to stay again if given another opportunity. Thank you very much!

    An accommodation that values the tradition of Kyoto.

    I stayed during the New Year and was deeply impressed by the delicious traditional New Year dishes. Although this time it rained heavily, it added a sense of charm, and I truly appreciated the thoughtful attention to detail. The breakfast was also incredibly luxurious, and the freshly cooked rice was absolutely delicious! I secretly hope to stay here twice a year.

    An accommodation you will want to visit again and again.

    I had another satisfying stay with comfortable bedding that allowed me to sleep soundly. I also enjoyed the yuzu bath. The morning yuzu porridge was absolutely delicious, making it worth saving room from the previous night's dinner. Both the main and side dishes were luxurious and tasty. If I may make one small request, as I'm now accustomed to less salty pickled plums, the traditional ones served were a bit too salty for me, and I ended up leaving half of it.

    I was impressed with the Osechi cuisine.

    To commemorate turning 70 this year, I was able to stay at Yuzuya Ryokan, where I had long wanted to stay, and I was truly able to welcome a happy New Year! I was moved because it was the first time since my childhood that I stayed at a purely Japanese-style ryokan. I was impressed by the yuzu bath and the New Year's breakfast! The service was impeccable, and I was able to spend a very pleasant time. I definitely want to stay again.
