    An Accommodation where you can feel at peace

    Not only were the meals and the wonderful Onsen outstanding, but I was also deeply comforted by the staff’s hospitality. Their warm smiles and sincere service reminded me that people can be healed by people. I would love to visit again in winter. The coffee after breakfast was delicious, and I could really feel the proprietress’s attention to detail. It became a memorable trip to Akita. Thank you very much.

    Nyuto Onsen – Taenoyu

    This Onsen was one I had long wanted to visit, and my wish finally came true—I was able to make it there at last. Built along a mountain stream, the refreshing sound of the flowing river was incredibly soothing. The Onsen features two types of spring water—gold and silver—fed directly from the source, with seven baths in total. In particular, the forest bath and the mixed-gender bath were surrounded by magnificent nature and felt wonderfully restorative, washing away both physical and mental fatigue. Even after bathing, I kept sweating for quite a while—it truly felt like a detox effect. The meals made excellent use of seasonal local ingredients with thoughtful preparation, paired beautifully with sake, and everything was delicious. The junsai (water shield) was especially outstanding—smooth on the throat and exquisite. Breakfast also offered a wide variety of dishes, including grilled hatahata (sandfish) and natto wrapped in straw—perfect with Akita-style rice dishes. I couldn’t help but have seconds. Above all, the staff’s hospitality was exceptional. Their attentive service—including perfect timing for each course—was truly impressive. It felt like thorough training from the proprietress, making the stay extremely comfortable. If I can secure a Reservation again, I would love to return in another season. It’s such a popular Accommodation that getting a Reservation is quite difficult—that’s my only concern.

    A cozy and relaxing accommodation.

    It was a Room where we could constantly feel the flow of the river. The meals were also delicious. However, I had misunderstood and thought that Nyuto Onsen was always a milky-white hot spring. Others in the bath were also saying, “Isn’t it white?” but after looking it up, I learned that not all sources are milky-white. It was completely my mistake. It wasn’t milky-white, but the bath had a charming atmosphere and was very relaxing.

    Used for two consecutive years

    As with last year, I extended my trip home and stayed here again. I had only good impressions before, but this time there were a few disappointing points. As a solo guest, I value being able to enjoy meals in a calm atmosphere, but during dinner the group behind me was quite loud, which reduced my enjoyment by half. I was also a little disappointed that the wild mountain vegetable tempura from last time was not on the menu. The bracken and mizuna were delicious again this time. There is no doubt that this Accommodation is very appealing, with highlights such as an open-air bath that blends into nature. Overall, I’m grateful to have had a good stay.

    It was shabbier than I expected.

    Based on the image I had of Nyuto Onsen (especially Tsurunoyu’s open-air bath), this was disappointing. The meals also felt lacking in both quality and quantity. It ended up being an experience that shattered my high expectations of Nyuto Onsen, which is so highly regarded.

    Highly satisfied!

    I was looking forward to my stay at Yukinoyuno, and it did not disappoint. I experienced an extraordinary time away from the everyday. The continuous snowfall created macaron-like shapes in the river. The meals were delicious, and I enjoyed them slowly with sake. It was truly a place that made me not want to leave. Next time, I hope to visit during the autumn foliage season. Thank you very much!

    It was a wonderful accommodation!

    Nyuto Onsen was a place I had always wanted to visit, and my dream finally came true. I chose this accommodation based on reviews, and from the moment I arrived by bus in the rain, I felt the warm hospitality as they greeted me with an umbrella. The pork miso soup and tea offered during check-in were delicious and comforting. The accommodation is small but impeccably clean, with tasteful decor throughout the facility. From my room, I could enjoy a view of the mountain stream, and it was delightful to relax in a kotatsu after so long. The onsen features two types of baths with different water qualities: "Golden Bath" and "Silver Bath." Both can be enjoyed as they alternate between men’s and women’s use. The mixed open-air bath with its stunning view also provided bath towels for peace of mind. The meals were made using seasonal ingredients, each dish incredibly delicious with beautiful presentation and tableware. I was especially happy to try kiritanpo hot pot, a local specialty. Pairing it with sake tasting made for an exceptional experience. Although this stay was only for one night, it rejuvenated both my body and soul. Next time, I hope to visit for a multiple night stay!

    There are two types of Onsen, each with a charming and detailed sense of style. The atmosphere of the Room is pleasant, but the narrow spaces for moving around might be challenging for larger individuals.

    We were able to stay at Myounoyu, which we had difficulty reserving for our couple's trip.

    We made a Reservation at Myounoyu in Nyuto Onsen, a place we had always wanted to visit, to celebrate my 60th birthday and my wife's birthday. The hospitality, service, dinner, breakfast, the cleanliness of the bath and Room were all exceptional, allowing us to have a very pleasant stay. With fewer guest rooms available, we could enjoy the baths at our own pace. The Onsen offered two types of spring water for relaxation and healing. We also enjoyed a private family bath for 30 minutes without any rush. At check-in, we were welcomed with tea and sweets to relax. Meals featured local ingredients; the rice was delicious and left us completely satisfied! We would love to create another opportunity to visit again in the future. This time around, after enjoying events like the Kantou Festival and Tachineputa Festival, we ended our trip with Nyuto Onsen—it was truly fulfilling. From parking assistance upon arrival to being warmly seen off at departure—thank you so much for your wonderful smiles and excellent service!

    It was a wonderful accommodation beyond just the onsen.

    I visited a historic Onsen accommodation simply to enjoy the Onsen. The atmosphere was neither luxurious nor modern, but it was impeccably clean and thoughtfully maintained in every detail, making it a wonderful place to stay. The meals reflected the local characteristics well, with just the right quality, quantity, and taste—deliciously satisfying. The staff seemed very well-trained and their dedicated efforts left a positive impression. In recent years, many accommodations have seen abnormal price hikes without matching quality; however, this accommodation offered excellent value for money.

    This was my first vi...

    This was my first visit here, though I have been to Natsuse twice before. The accommodation feels slightly compact but is well-maintained. The staff are all kind and respond quickly. The room was a bit small, and the toilet only flushed for large waste, which was a minor concern. Meals were served in the dining area and were thoughtfully prepared; both breakfast and dinner were delicious and satisfying. The bath area felt cramped compared to the number of female guests, and there weren’t enough bath towels available, but I enjoyed the two types of Onsen water offered. "Kin no Yu" has a high temperature with added water, while "Gin no Yu" is cooler with added heat; both are free-flowing from the source. It was surprising how different the spring quality can be depending on the accommodation within Nyuto Onsen. The price is very reasonable as well. If I have another opportunity, I would love to visit again. Thank you for your hospitality!

    An accommodation you can confidently recommend to others.

    The facilities and rooms are not new, but they are very clean. The bath meets the expectations of an Onsen accommodation. What stands out the most is the food, which is top-class among all accommodations I have stayed at and was highly satisfying. This accommodation can be confidently recommended to anyone planning a trip to Akita.

    The meals, hot water...

    The meals, hot water, and service were all satisfying. It was an accommodation that showed great attention to detail. Although it seemed a bit hard to locate on the map, it was actually easy to find, and I enjoyed a relaxing and leisurely stay. Thank you very much.

    Would love to visit again!

    This was our first time using this accommodation as relatives from outside the prefecture came to enjoy the onsen. The bath and meals were excellent, completely making us forget about the disappointment of a rainy day. There were many local dishes, which our relatives from outside the prefecture thoroughly enjoyed. At this onsen accommodation surrounded by nature, we were amazed by the river's water volume due to the rain, but we had a stress-free stay at the facility. Thank you very much!

    It was a clean accommodation.

    The tableware and furnishings are stylish. On the other hand, the bath offers a slight taste of a traditional hot spring atmosphere. The cuisine features delicate and refined dishes that allow you to fully enjoy the blessings of the mountains. The Room does not have beds but futons instead. While having a couch makes it slightly more comfortable, sleeping on futons was challenging for elderly guests. The Room is quite small, likely making it difficult to accommodate beds, but we would appreciate it if bedrooms with beds could be considered during future renovations.

    Finally made it here!

    I finally made it to the long-awaited Nyuto Onsen! Although it was unfortunately raining, the staff at Tsurunoyu kindly brought an umbrella to the parking lot, which was very helpful. The view from the room was beautiful, and the sound of the waterfall was soothing. The private bath was under repair due to heavy snow, but I thoroughly enjoyed other baths and ended up going multiple times because they were so wonderful. The mixed-gender bath allowed towel wrapping, but I used it during women-only hours. Bathing while watching the waterfall was absolutely amazing! It’s hard not to stay in for a long soak. The meals were just right in portion size and included various local specialties that left me very satisfied. Although it's far away and not easy to visit often, this has become one of my favorite places that I’d love to return to someday. Thank you!

    A Hidden Onsen and Gourmet Accommodation

    I didn't have high expectations for the Onsen in Akita, but I was amazed by the wonderful Onsen and meals. I rarely feel like visiting an Onsen again, but this is a place I truly want to return to. This is an accommodation I sincerely hope many people will experience.

    Natsuse Sara no!

    I also stayed at this series! The Onsen was, of course, excellent, and I had a very good experience. However, the meals... Since it was a Multiple Night Stay at the series, I thought it might be different, but both dinner and breakfast were almost the same... In the first place, I couldn't help but think that a simple style like Tsuru no Yu would be nice. With this type of meal, I tend to compare it to the meals I usually have in the city, so it was quite difficult. Nevertheless, the service was genuinely heartfelt, and I had a pleasant stay!
