    The service and Facility are excellent. The bath and meals feel very commercially driven.

    I stayed on the “Yudomari” Plan (Onsen-focused stay) with breakfast included, with check-in available until 10:00 PM. First, this isn’t the Accommodation’s fault, but if you can come by car—or rent one in places like Seibu-Chichibu—you absolutely should. There seems to be a Shuttle Service bus from Kuroya Station, but considering dinner and getting around at night, not having a car would be quite stressful. Looking at the Plan lineup, it almost seems like they promote options without dinner; I wondered if they simply don’t have the capacity to serve dinner to all guests. The building has been nicely renovated and there are furnishings placed throughout. It’s not arranged in a particularly refined way, but it gave me the impression they’re doing well financially—honestly, I’m jealous. The service felt very standardized and polite. The young staff member who guided me to my Room was gentle and pleasant as well. However, when I tried talking about local topics, the conversation didn’t really go anywhere… I ended up feeling a bit lonely—maybe that just means they’re well trained. As for the bath in the Room… this is on me, but it is not Onsen water. Since it was a holiday and fairly expensive, I mistakenly assumed it was. They sell an original bath additive for 160 yen in the gift shop; apparently adding it makes it similar in composition, and one packet is provided in the Room. It rained that day, which actually made viewing from the open-air bath even nicer. In front of my Room was a river; even though it seems unlikely anyone could look in from outside, they’ve put up wooden/bamboo screening anyway. You can only see a little of the river—I felt that was a waste. Some guests might dislike too much openness, but this felt like over-accommodating sensitive guests; still, maybe that’s part of how they run things profitably. Breakfast is extremely ordinary. Can you get seconds of rice? Bread is self-serve, but I was told by staff that they would serve rice for us—yet there was no mention of refills… so maybe you can if you ask, but there’s some psychological barrier built into it. They’re good at business. You know those small hot-plate setups with solid fuel? Here it’s used to cook two slices of bacon and fry an egg—but honestly I could do without it. Following that standard format might help photos look better or keep kids excited… I recommend No Meals Included instead.

    We visited to see the moss phlox at Hitsujiyama Park. The Accommodation offered a free stargazing tour, and we had a wonderful time. Every staff member was truly hospitable. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    Relaxation

    My elderly sister and her husband were well taken care of. The staff were kind, which made them very happy. They mentioned the welcome drink coffee was hot and truly delicious! However, they found the coffee at the dining venue lukewarm, possibly because not many people drank it—this was a bit disappointing for them. Other than that, they said they were satisfied with the Onsen, Room, meals, and Shuttle Service.
