    We had a wonderful time.

    It was a wonderful stay that let us fully enjoy the best of Arashiyama’s location. Listening to the sound of the river while taking in the view of the flowing water and mountains, soaking in the open-air bath in our Room, and then cooling off on the veranda afterward made us forget all about Arashiyama’s crowds, noise, and the busyness of everyday life. A morning walk to Togetsukyo Bridge and through the bamboo grove also felt like a special privilege of staying in Arashiyama. I never imagined we could have an experience like this here. Above all, the cuisine was outstanding. Each dish was beautifully presented and carefully prepared, leaving a lasting impression one by one. The portions were just right yet deeply satisfying, and we woke up hungry for breakfast and enjoyed it thoroughly. We also appreciated the staff’s thoughtful hospitality. The calm, attentive service from those who served our meals truly conveyed the high standard of a “fine Ryokan.”

    An Accommodation where you can fully enjoy Arashiyama, with wonderful hospitality

    This trip was to celebrate my mother’s 85th birthday. The Accommodation was very comfortable, and all the staff were kind and wonderfully attentive, making our stay truly enjoyable. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious; they were a feast for the eyes as well, and the dashi was so soothing—it reminded me how great Japan is. They also kindly adjusted the portion sizes for us, and even prepared a bowl of sekihan (red rice) soup for her birthday, which made my mother happy throughout our stay. This may be minor, but what delighted her most was being able to walk barefoot because the hallways were tatami rather than having to wear slippers (at her age she seems afraid of walking in slippers). She also appreciated that the tabi socks worn with the yukata had non-slip grips, that the bath temperature was just right, and that there was a stool at the sink in our Room—she was very satisfied with these thoughtful details. It is also conveniently located in Arashiyama with plenty to see nearby, making it a truly wonderful Accommodation. I’m very happy that my mother enjoyed it so much—it became a memorable trip for me as well. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

    It was an excellent stay.

    We arrived in the morning, planned to leave our luggage, explore Oku-Saga, and then check in at the Hotel. Upon arrival, a staff member greeted us right away and took care of our luggage. The lobby was spacious, the corridors were wide, and the tatami flooring felt comfortable even barefoot. Check-in while relaxing in the lobby, being escorted to our Room, and the detailed explanation of the Room were all courteous and pleasant. Dinner was served in a semi-private dining area, so my spouse and I could enjoy it at a relaxed pace. The food was excellent. Both the dishes and presentation were beautiful and enjoyable to look at as well. We had breakfast in the same place. After checkout, we planned to take a short walk before heading home. Just as I was about to ask if they could store our luggage again, a staff member kindly offered to do so first. It may seem like a small gesture, but it’s not something everyone can do naturally. From start to finish, we truly had a wonderful stay.

    We thoroughly enjoyed Arashiyama in its fresh spring greenery.

    I usually stay in central Kyoto or Higashiyama, but this time I had a reservation to visit Saiho-ji on the afternoon of the second day, so I treated myself and stayed at Aratsuki for its excellent access. I came straight from Kyoto Station and they kindly stored my luggage, which allowed me to fully enjoy temple-hopping around Saga-Arashiyama at a relaxed pace. After check-in, I unwound in the comfortable Room—soaking in the bath and sitting on the sofa, gazing at the river flowing right in front of me and the lush green mountains beyond. During an early-morning walk, it was also a wonderful experience to meet temple staff sweeping and purifying the paths with brooms, as well as local residents caring for the bamboo grove. As a Diamond member benefit, I was told I could stay until 12:00, so after breakfast I visited a nearby temple and then returned to the Room to relax again. The location is simply perfect! Both morning and evening were beautiful to behold, and I enjoyed delicious meals filled with thoughtful touches along with heartfelt service. Thank you for printing out the bus timetable to Saiho-ji, providing a chair for putting on and taking off shoes, and for your kind words throughout our stay. I would love to return again.

    This Ryokan in Arashiyama had an excellent location. Even though it is in a busy area, once you step inside, you can enjoy the timeless atmosphere of Arashiyama. The food was outstanding, and the service was full of Kyoto charm, making us truly feel the spirit of Kyoto. I would love to return during the autumn foliage season.

    Comfortable Accommodation

    We stayed in a fairly new guest room on the 2nd floor and were able to relax, and the Accommodation was quiet and calm throughout. The food was especially delicious, and we were very satisfied. I visit Kyoto 2–3 times a year and usually stay at a Hotel around Kyoto Station. This time I also stayed one night near the station, but next time I would like to stay at this Accommodation again.

    Congratulations on your 20th anniversary!

    It was my first stay in years, but the Ryokan staff and the cuisine were as excellent as ever! Soaking in the open-air bath and gazing at Arashiyama made me not want to leave (laughs). Staying at Arashigetsu during New Year's refreshed both my mind and body. This time, I missed out on the Osechi meal, so next time I look forward to enjoying it during my stay.     Stayed in Arashiyama for the first time.

    We made a last-minute change to our accommodation and booked here to enjoy a day in Arashiyama. The location was excellent, close to the places we wanted to visit, and it was convenient to return for a rest. When visiting Kyoto, we usually only have dinner outside, but after reading reviews about the delicious meals at this accommodation, we opted for a dinner-inclusive plan. As mentioned in the reviews, the food was very delicious and satisfying! I would love to stay here again just for another chance at their dinner. The bathroom felt slightly outdated, and I think it would be better if items like the hairdryer or showerhead were of higher quality. We took a morning walk before enjoying breakfast afterward—it was so tasty that I even had seconds! The staff's hospitality was excellent as well; I would definitely consider staying here again if given the opportunity.

    The location is perfect, and the view from the balcony is very nice. However, the room is the smallest among hotels in a similar price range. Dinner was disappointing: portions were very small, and the taste was average. We were still hungry after dinner. The public bath is also very small and has no view.

    Both the location and service are satisfactory.

    The new Room had a pleasant wooden scent, making it very comfortable. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious and satisfying. The semi-open-air bath wasn't very spacious but allowed us to enjoy the fresh outdoor air comfortably. It would have been even better if shower caps were provided in the guest Room. Taking an early morning walk to Togetsukyo Bridge to watch the sunrise became an unforgettable memory.

    A Wonderful Stay

    I stayed here to celebrate my mother's birthday. I chose this accommodation for its scenic view and the private open-air bath in the room, as I wanted a relaxing experience. Although it is located right in front of a main street, once the windows were closed, we couldn't hear any noise from outside and could enjoy the beautiful river and garden. The chairs by the window were perfect for enjoying the view and also served as a convenient spot while meals or bedding arrangements were being prepared. The open-air bath was great because we could adjust the water temperature, and although we didn't use it, the indoor bath was also clean. The major facilities met our expectations for comfort, and everything was very well-maintained overall. The staff who assisted us were very pleasant, making our stay extremely comfortable. Arashiyama has many dining options nearby, so we debated whether to eat out or dine at this accommodation. In hindsight, choosing to have meals here was absolutely worth it—every dish was delicious, and having them served in our room allowed us to relax even more. If I had one suggestion for improvement: it would be nice if one water pot could be chilled in the refrigerator during this season. However, there were enough bottled waters provided for each guest, so this wasn't an issue at all.

    A long-awaited trip ...

    A long-awaited trip to Kyoto for a 60th birthday celebration. We enjoyed the relaxing time in a room with a semi-open-air bath overlooking Togetsukyo Bridge. It was disappointing that only reservations without dinner were available. The underground large public bath could become even more wonderful with renovations. Kyoto is always beautiful no matter when you visit!

    It was a very good accommodation.

    The staff's hospitality and the meals were excellent. The recently renovated room was clean, quiet, and comfortable with no noise from outside or other rooms. However, one concern was the air conditioner vent located directly above the bed (on the ceiling). No matter how I adjusted the airflow direction or reduced its strength, the wind still blew on my face while sleeping. I'm not sure if this issue is specific to the room I stayed in. Additionally, I felt there were many steps inside the room. Other than that, it was truly a great accommodation.

    It was a very quiet and relaxing stay.

    After passing through the crowds of Arashiyama and entering the Stays, a quiet and serene space unfolded, making it feel as if there was no one else around.     I was very satisfied.

    I wanted to see the Gozan no Okuribi, so I went to Arashiyama. I made a reservation at this property aiming for the recently renovated room. On the day of the reservation, I arrived earlier than the check-in time, but they kindly stored my luggage and said, "We'll prepare so that it's okay if you return early." It was extremely hot outside, and it was tough to wander around, so those words alone felt like a refreshing breeze through my heart. The room was a recently renovated room on the second floor with an open-air bath, and the scent of wood was pleasant and healing. The water is not advertised as onsen, but it is said to be heated groundwater, and it had such an effect that it could be called "cold spring," instantly relieving my body fatigue. The view of the Katsura River from the open-air bath was also superb. And the dinner I was looking forward to was more wonderful than I imagined. I am very satisfied! It was so delicious that it became a good problem for the next day's stay. I was very satisfied with the scenery, the room, the service, and the meal. I will visit again!

    An environment where you can fully enjoy Arashiyama

    It was a very lovely Room with a view of the Katsura River. I was very impressed to be able to stroll around Tenryu-ji Temple and the Bamboo Grove Path for a morning walk. The meals were also very delicious, and the Kyoto kaiseki was very satisfying for me, as I can no longer eat a lot due to my age. I would like to use it again while appreciating the nearby Fukuda Art Museum. The cypress bath in the Room was also wonderful and healing.
