    An Accommodation Perfect for a Relaxing Stay Indoors

    First, thank you for accommodating my food allergies despite the last-minute Reservation the day before. The Accommodation is tucked away in the mountains, quiet and surrounded by nature—yet surprisingly well located with views out over the sea. There is no Shuttle Service to the Accommodation, so I took a taxi from Izu-Kogen Station. There aren’t many taxis waiting, but you should be able to get one without too long a wait. As it’s truly a detached-style Accommodation, each Room is set apart, so you don’t have to worry about noise from other guests. I believe all Rooms are detached and the number of guests is limited. The villa has high ceilings and a charming design, with an indoor bath featuring large windows as well as a private open-air bath in the Room. There’s also a small garden and an open-air bath without a roof. Of course, being outdoors means it’s affected by the weather. The views are lovely, but once you sink into the tub you can’t really see the ocean—just so you know. On clear nights, you can enjoy a sky full of stars. In-room dining was attentive and comfortable throughout, and I truly appreciated how carefully they adjusted the dishes for my allergies. They can also add or modify menus using local ingredients to suit your preferences. The refrigerator was stocked with drinks, and amenities were more than sufficient. I was able to relax without needing to leave my Room at all. A recommended Japanese-style Accommodation where you can unwind in privacy without worrying about others’ eyes.

    It was very good.

    All buildings are separate annexes, so you can stay without meeting other guests, with in-room dining. The bath is an open-air bath with an elaborate design and was excellent, and you have exclusive use of the entire garden, giving a great sense of openness. There isn’t much of a view because it’s enclosed for privacy, but as a private space it was spacious and wonderful. It was an Accommodation I had wanted to stay at for a long time, so I’m glad I finally could. The meals were also very delicious and satisfying. It’s also a great Accommodation for couples looking to relax together. Thank you very much for your hospitality, and sorry this is late.

    Quiet accommodation with delicious food and excellent service.

    A serene and tranquil accommodation for adults. I was traveling alone, and I was surprised to be served an entire kinmedai fish for dinner, but it was delicious, and I managed to finish it all. The refrigerator included free drinks such as beer (though I don't drink), soda, and juice, which was a nice touch. The room had both an indoor bath and an open-air bath; the open-air bath even had a reclining space where you could relax comfortably. Additionally, the temperature could be adjusted upon request. Meals were served in the room, allowing me to fully enjoy a private space. Above all else, the hospitality was exceptional! The meals were thoughtfully prepared with great care—rice from Uonuma tasted amazing; even though my home is also in Uonuma, their cooking method made it extraordinary! Since I usually travel abroad often, I plan to visit again during Japan's winter season. This is my first time giving IKYU.com full 5-star ratings across the board!

    It was a peaceful location.

    From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed into a serene and traditional Japanese atmosphere that made us feel at ease. Surrounded by nature, there were many insects, but the outdoor bath at night was incredibly relaxing. During meals, the foreign staff provided detailed explanations, allowing us to enjoy our dining experience thoroughly.

    An Accommodation You'll Want to Visit Again

    Every time, I consider other accommodations, but I always come back due to the in-room dining, open-air bath, indoor bath, and the fact that there are few negative reviews. After Golden Week (GW), I decided to repeat my stay again. This time, I visited for the first time during the Obon season. The meals felt fresh and different from GW and were delicious as always. The portions are consistently generous. Although it was unfortunately rainy weather, the light rain added charm to the open-air bath, and the garden view from the indoor bath was beautiful. During Obon or GW periods, prices tend to be high, so I hesitate every time before making a reservation. What disappointed me this time was that after completing my reservation early on, prices dropped significantly several times afterward. It made me feel like I should not have booked so early. I understand that managing costs is challenging with rising prices; however, it would be appreciated if some consideration could be given to those who book early so they can enjoy their stay comfortably as well.

    I would love to stay here again.

    This was my third stay after several years, and I had been looking forward to returning. I am truly delighted. The wonderful room, delicious meals, and excellent service provided a luxurious and relaxing experience that passed by in no time. The room was impeccably clean, allowing for a very comfortable stay. The meals offered a wide variety of dishes, leaving me completely satisfied once again. When I forgot something after checking out, you promptly contacted me by phone, which was incredibly helpful. This is an accommodation that makes me want to return again and again. Thank you very much!

    Lovely Accommodation

    We stayed in Arashiyama for our wedding anniversary. Service... The staff was very polite and attentive. Although the attendant was a newcomer, they performed their duties perfectly, allowing us to have a truly wonderful time. Room & Amenities... The room was impeccably clean and comfortable. We were impressed by the variety of complimentary drinks in the refrigerator! At another ryokan we used to visit frequently, the complimentary drinks and snacks in the fridge decreased every year despite an increase in accommodation fees. It felt disappointing during what should be a special trip. We hope this service continues here even if it means slightly higher fees. Bath... We always choose rooms with open-air baths, but this was our first time staying somewhere where even the indoor bath in the room was exceptional. The open-air bath was spacious and extremely satisfying as well. Meals... Both breakfast and dinner were incredibly delicious and carefully prepared! Many ryokans serve portions that feel insufficient, so we had brought some late-night snacks just in case but ended up not needing them at all due to how generous the portions were—what a pleasant surprise! This has been our best accommodation experience ever. We look forward to visiting again—thank you very much!

    Perfect for those who want to relax and do nothing.

    Private newly discovered accommodation, 318th stay. No Shuttle Service available. Arrived quite early but was warmly welcomed, much appreciated. The room was "Maruyama," with only six rooms in total, ensuring a very quiet environment. Once inside the room, there’s no need to step out at all. The room was bright and clean, with matcha tea, refrigerator service, and sufficient amenities provided. The indoor bath had a slightly lower temperature setting, while the open-air bath was spacious with a distant view of the sea—very relaxing and enjoyable. However, the chairs by the window and traditional floor chairs were uncomfortable for long use; a small sofa would have been preferable. Room dining wasn’t my preference but it was an interesting experience after some time. A foreign staff member who seemed new handled it; there were minor issues like receiving the menu late or not wiping down the table before placing dishes—but their earnest effort through conversation made it far from unpleasant. The meal had many courses and left me full; it was lightly seasoned and delicious overall. For Diamond members’ sake offering Japanese sake as a perk is nice but having alternative options for non-drinkers might be better considered too! Great for solo travelers though space may feel tight if staying as two people together in this type of room!

    Great value for money!

    I stayed here for the first time the day before yesterday. I've been a Diamond Member of IKYU for years, but I regret not staying at Zenjuku earlier. The open-air bath was spacious and relaxing, and dinner portions were so generous that I couldn't finish before the main course—what a waste! Breakfast was also delightful with a variety of ingredients served in small portions. The service provided by the staff member from China was excellent; they did their best to make our stay enjoyable. Having stayed at many accommodations, I can confidently say this offers top-notch value for money. Of course, I will visit again in the future. Thank you for such a pleasant stay!

    Exciting Golden Week

    I stayed at this accommodation again during Golden Week, just like last year. The bath, meals, and bedding were excellent. However, unlike last year, one disappointing aspect was the smell in the room upon entering—it had a damp and musty odor reminiscent of mold, despite the continuous sunny weather. After about an hour, I got used to the smell, but first impressions are important. It would be great if the room could have a pleasant fragrance like at the front desk. I really love this accommodation and hope to stay here again if I have another opportunity.

    I am very satisfied.

    We stayed in Arashiyama as a couple and were very satisfied. Dinner was incredibly generous in portion size, and breakfast was enjoyed while listening to the soothing sound of bush warblers. The stay allowed us to relax privately without encountering other guests. If there’s one suggestion, the body scrub towel provided was too short to reach the back—slightly longer would be appreciated.

    I felt very safe and comfortable during my stay.

    I stayed here alone for a refreshing vacation. I was, of course, very satisfied with the service, room, and amenities. During my multiple night stay, the same staff member consistently assisted me, which made it easy to communicate my requests with peace of mind. The thoughtful attention to detail truly touched my heart. I would love to stay here again in the future. Next time, I plan to visit with my partner!

    A tranquil accommodation

    The calm atmosphere, as children under elementary school age are not allowed to stay, was very pleasant. The food was delicious, especially dinner, though the portions were quite large and I ended up leaving some, which was a bit disappointing. It seems the accommodation is run by a small number of staff members, so it’s understandable, but there are only two options for meal times. It would be nice if there were more flexibility in this regard. The lack of handrails and high steps in the bath area may cause concern for elderly guests. If these points are improved, I would love to visit again with my family as they grow older.

    I have stayed in Izu...

    I have stayed in Izu Kogen many times and finally had the chance to stay at "Zenzumi," which I had been curious about for a while. With high review ratings, my expectations were met, and I was very satisfied with this accommodation. The room was spacious enough for two people, offering a great view of Sagami Bay and Oshima Island, making our stay pleasant. The private bath attached to the room included both an indoor bath and an open-air bath with spacious tubs at just the right temperature, allowing us to refresh ourselves with multiple baths. The meals—both dinner and breakfast—were excellent in taste, ingredients, and portion size. If I may suggest one improvement, adding vegetable-based dishes to dinner would enhance satisfaction even further. Drinks in the refrigerator were complimentary as well; enjoying a beer after bathing was delightful. The staff provided attentive service with perfect timing when serving meals and promptly delivered additional items like extra robes upon request, making our stay very comfortable. One area for improvement would be the slow WIFI speed that frequently disconnected; it seemed like an issue with either the router or bandwidth capacity, which felt slightly inconvenient personally. I visit the Izu area several times a year for overnight stays and have experienced many accommodations in the past; however, this place ranks among my top five for meal quality and bathing comfort. If given another opportunity, I would definitely love to return!

    I had a relaxing time.

    The accommodation I had been wanting to visit for a long time had renovated water facilities in the room, and they were very clean. The indoor bath and open-air bath in the room were spacious enough, with a view of the sea in the distance, which was wonderful. The refrigerator was stocked with plenty of complimentary beverages, and I also enjoyed the pure rice sake provided as a Diamond Member benefit—thank you. As for the meals, perhaps my expectations were too high, but I felt it would be nice to have a plan that focuses on quality over quantity by reducing the number of dishes slightly.

    This was my first time using the facility. It is located in a quiet location at the foot of Omuroyama, and it was a very good facility to enjoy Onsen and meals. Both the indoor Onsen and the open-air Onsen had excellent water quality, which I think is good for health. The volume of both dinner and breakfast was surprisingly more than I imagined. I hope to visit again someday. Thank you very much.

    We stayed as a family of three at the end of the year. When choosing a Hotel or Ryokan, we refer to Reviews, and this was an exceptionally wonderful Property that exceeded our expectations. The Room was thoroughly cleaned, and the Onsen, both indoor and outdoor baths, were comfortable. The amenities were sufficient and good. We had the tea in the Room, which was sweet and delicious. The Japanese sweets served with the tea were very tasty. Each dish matched the tableware, and the meals were very plentiful and delicious, leaving us very satisfied! I intended to buy the Japanese sweets served with the tea to take home, but unfortunately, I forgot to buy them. When I have time, I would like to visit again to enjoy the outdoor bath.

    The best extraordinary experience

    We stayed as a couple for New Year's Eve. Due to work commitments and being caught in traffic, we arrived later than planned, but we were guided to the parking lot with care and promptly shown to our Room. The meals were abundant in variety and volume, and since it was New Year's Eve, the dinner included toshikoshi soba, and the breakfast came with osechi and ozoni, providing a sense of the season. Additionally, the all-you-can-drink selection in the refrigerator (bottled beer (Asahi and Kirin), small bottles of sake, cola, orange juice, etc.) was highly satisfying. The Room's Facility was clean and user-friendly. Each Room had both an indoor and an open-air bath, allowing us to soak freely and repeatedly. Moreover, since it was a new moon, the starry sky was also magnificent.

    It was excellent with delicious food and a quiet environment.

    It was a quiet wooden building located in the forest at the foot of Omuroyama, about ten minutes by taxi from Izu Kogen. Both breakfast and dinner were luxurious and extremely delicious. The Room had an Onsen, and there was also an open-air bath, allowing us to bathe at any time. We had a pleasant day in the tranquil setting. We were very pleased that both alcohol and cola were free.

    The food is delicious.

    The other day, I stayed at this Ryokan and had a very satisfying stay. First of all, the food and sweets were very delicious, and you could tell that each was carefully prepared. Also, it was a pleasant point that the drinks prepared in the refrigerator could be enjoyed without any additional charge. The bath had both an indoor bath and an open-air bath, and it was very luxurious. The view from the open-air bath was particularly wonderful, allowing me to relax completely. The toilet was also equipped with heating, making it comfortable even in the cold season. The breakfast porridge had a rich broth, allowing me to feel luxurious from the morning. The staff's thoughtfulness was also wonderful, and I felt their meticulous care everywhere. It was a lovely Ryokan that makes me want to visit again. Thank you very much.

    I had a pleasant stay.

    I think it has been 10 years since I started visiting, and I had a very pleasant stay. The food is delicious, and I was able to relax in the onsen. The washroom has been renovated and was very convenient to use. The refrigerator was also free, which seems more economical compared to other properties. I appreciate your usual thoughtfulness.     Quiet inn

    It was a quiet and relaxing inn. I was satisfied with the hot springs as I could use the open-air bath and indoor bath in the guest room as much as I wanted whenever I wanted! (I would have been even more satisfied if it was a natural hot spring...) I think it would be more comfortable if there was a sofa in the guest room. The meals had a good broth, but the seasoning was too salty for my taste, which was disappointing (seasoning is a matter of personal preference, though...).
