    Your First Kinosaki Onsen Experience

I chose this property based on a Review saying it was convenient for visiting the public baths. At the end of August, after the summer holidays when things were a bit quieter, they upgraded us from a standard Room to a Room with an open-air bath. I used the open-air bath twice, morning and night. It was quiet, and the breeze felt wonderful. The food was very delicious, but the main dish—seared Tajima beef—was a little tough and I couldn’t bite through it in one go, which was slightly disappointing. When I said I was full and couldn’t finish dessert, a staff member wrapped it and put it in the refrigerator for me. I enjoyed it later after my bath before bed. They also kindly explained things like tips for visiting the public baths and even sprayed deodorizer since in-room dining can leave lingering smells—everyone was very pleasant and attentive. The entire building is covered with tatami mats (even inside the elevator), and walking around barefoot felt great. The bath is small, but it was very clean, and there is also an open-air bath, so we enjoyed it 충분に. I would like to stay again if I have the chance. Thank you to all the staff we met for such a comfortable time.

A Relaxing Trip in Your Golden Years

A retirement trip with four college friends. We had a great time planning it together, and aimed for Kinosaki Onsen during cherry blossom season. We wanted to be close to the river for the public bathhouses and nighttime cherry-blossom viewing—and of course, great food mattered—so we chose the long-established Ryokufukaku. We also upgraded our meal plan. The town was in full bloom. In the evening, we strolled among the cherry blossoms while visiting the public bathhouses. Since it was warm, some of us even went around in kimono and geta to really enjoy the Onsen atmosphere. Dinner was outstanding: huge shrimp and generous slices of seasonal fish sashimi were a delight. The large abalone was thick, tender, and delicious—so good it almost outshone even the crab. And just when we were already full, they finished with Tajima beef sukiyaki. We thought there was no way we could eat more, but somehow we polished it off. Truly satisfying! The Room was spacious—big enough for about eight people to sleep—and had very large windows facing the park. It felt wonderful. However, perhaps because dinner was served in-room, there was a slight smell of beef fat in the Room that bothered us a bit. After dinner, we went out again to see the night blossoms while touring more public baths. To finish off, we used the indoor bath at the inn as well. It isn’t huge, but it does have an open-air bath too, and we enjoyed it both before bed and again in the morning. We had a fantastic time overall, and next time I’d like to come with my family as well. Thank you very much for having us; we truly enjoyed our stay.”

    Second stay

I was looking for an Accommodation with an Onsen where I could enjoy crab dishes. After searching various options, Ryokufukaku—where I had stayed before—matched my preferences best and was within my budget. With a course that included both crab and Tanba beef, I fully enjoyed the crab with in-room dining. The crab sashimi and grilled crab in particular were so delicious that I wanted to eat them again right away. Breakfast was also tasty, and the tofu you can make in a small pot was especially nice. The bath at the Accommodation was great, and I also visited two public baths outside. Strolling around the Onsen town is something unique to Kinosaki Onsen. I’d like to visit again around this time next year and the year after as well.

I was able to relax and unwind at my own pace.

When it comes to travel, it’s all about delicious food and Onsen. We were able to relax at ease with everything taken care of. It was the perfect season for an all-out crab feast—I think I’ve had enough crab for the whole year! There was also a Tajima beef steak, and every dish was truly delicious. Breakfast was also carefully prepared, and everything was so tasty that we were simply satisfied. Most of the staff were young and kindly spoke to us. We’d love to visit again. We made wonderful travel memories. Thank you very much. Because I’m such a foodie, I start eating right away as soon as the food arrives—saying “That looks delicious!”—so I forgot to take photos. This is the only one I have.

I was moved by the warmth of the Hotel staff.

We visited as a family of five during the snowy New Year. Thank you for lending us boots and umbrellas. The location was convenient, and we enjoyed visiting the public Onsen baths. Everyone we interacted with, from the staff at the entrance, front desk, Room attendants, to the night guard we spoke with while using the indoor Onsen at night, was very kind and attentive. It had been a long time since our last visit to Kinosaki Onsen, but it was lively and full of energy. We had so much fun playing shooting games at night and making Onsen eggs. We look forward to visiting again!

    Exceptional Hospitality

The staff's service was excellent, making our stay very comfortable. The indoor bath, open-air bath, and sauna were all clean, with gentle water that made us want to soak in them repeatedly. We enjoyed a year's worth of crab during dinner. It was the perfect family trip!

    It was a heartwarming accommodation.

It was a wonderful accommodation. Conveniently located near the station, just a short walk past various food stalls. It’s not a large hotel but has a cozy, hidden retreat-like atmosphere. What surprised me upon entering was the absence of slippers; even the elevator had tatami flooring, and you could move around in tabi socks or regular socks everywhere, including the bath area. Once I got used to it, it felt very comfortable. The room we were guided to was a spacious corner room with a lovely aroma of incense at the entrance. Towels and yukata were provided in two sets each, and baskets and geta sandals were available for borrowing—perfect for enjoying an Onsen-hopping tour in Kinosaki (we collected stamps from 5 out of 7 public baths to receive chopsticks as a reward!). Dinner exceeded expectations with crab, abalone, and Tajima beef—all dishes we wanted to try! The portion of Tajima beef was surprisingly large; we couldn’t finish it all! A smaller portion course might be nice as an option. As for Onsen experiences, while visiting public baths was fun, I found Ryokufukaku's private bath far superior in terms of water quality. The barrel bath especially stood out since it uses Kinosaki Onsen’s natural hot spring water—it felt like pure luxury having it all to myself! Due to local regulations in Kinosaki, guest rooms cannot have private hot springs piped directly into them, and there are also size restrictions on communal baths at accommodations. Despite these limitations, their efforts such as installing saunas are commendable. Lastly—and most importantly—the staff were exceptional. Both the person who guided us to our room and our dinner server were young yet professional and friendly; they seemed proud of their work. Front desk staff quickly prepared shoes or keys upon seeing us without needing reminders. Breakfast staff members were cheerful too—overall creating an impression that everyone genuinely wanted guests to enjoy their time in Kinosaki. This warm hospitality made this accommodation truly special—I’ll definitely recommend it to my friends!

    Not meeting expectations

Overall, the stay did not feel equivalent to the accommodation cost. Before our stay, we requested "higher quality meals in smaller portions without changing the type of dishes for elderly guests." Although the "Today's Menu" placed on the table during dinner listed it, the signature grilled live abalone was omitted without any explanation from the accommodation. The staff serving meals responded with a smile but seemed to be a trainee and not well-versed in the meal details. The explanation about the three types of Tajima beef was also insufficient. While we appreciated their smiles, it felt that training provided by the accommodation was inadequate.

A cozy and family-friendly Ryokan conveniently located near the station. I stayed alone, but since dinner was served in the Room, I could comfortably enjoy abalone, crab, and Tajima beef sukiyaki to the fullest. The staff at the Ryokan were very pleasant as well. I would definitely love to visit again!

    Completely satisfied.

We stayed here to celebrate my father's 60th birthday. The staff provided thorough explanations not only about the Room but also about the Facility and other areas, which was very helpful. The food was delicious, and they accommodated our requests as well. We stayed in a special room this time, and the private bath was wonderful. The showerhead and hairdryer were from a famous brand, which made us happy. Although the public bath felt a bit small due to regulations, it was very comfortable, and we ended up spending more time there than expected. Our entire family was satisfied with our stay, and we are glad we chose this place.

It was the best anniversary trip.

We visited for our one-year anniversary trip. Originally, we had a reservation at another ryokan, but due to poor phone service that left us uneasy, we searched for a different accommodation and found this one. The polite phone response reassured us, and we were looking forward to our stay until the day arrived. The ryokan was smaller than expected, but the staff's hospitality was absolutely wonderful. Not only were they courteous, but their thoughtfulness made us feel special as they celebrated our anniversary in various ways. (We were pleasantly surprised by the instant photo session after dinner!) We checked in right after opening and immediately enjoyed the indoor bath. Since no one else was there, it felt like a private experience where we could fully enjoy both the open-air bath and sauna. My partner usually isn't particular about food, but he happily said, "The food is so delicious!" Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality! We are glad we chose this ryokan and would love to visit again if given the chance!

    Family Trip

My 7-year-old daughter wanted to enjoy crab, so we planned a stay at this ryokan. It is conveniently located near the station with excellent access. The accommodation was very clean, and the staff provided attentive service. They even lent a lovely yukata for my child, and we enjoyed visiting the public baths in the area. The meals were beautifully presented, explained clearly, and we thoroughly enjoyed delicious crab dishes. There were both indoor and open-air baths available, allowing us to enjoy a morning bath as well. We would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you very much for this wonderful experience!

    It was very comfortable.

We chose this accommodation for its onsen and meals. The meals were so amazing that I would give them 10 stars if I could. As for the onsen, we enjoyed the indoor bath, but the highlight of Kinosaki is the outdoor onsen hopping. During our 1-night, 2-day stay, we visited five different outdoor onsens. Even after check-out, they kindly lent us towels and allowed us to use the parking lot until 1 PM, which made our experience even more enjoyable. The staff were very hospitable, and it seemed that foreign staff members were appropriately assigned based on their skills. It was a truly satisfying trip!

It was a Hotel with thoughtful hospitality that made us happy.

The weather was bad, and they received our wet umbrellas from the rain and snow, then dried and folded them neatly for us by the time we left. It was much appreciated. Every time we went out, they lent us boots. I think it must be quite a troublesome task. Everyone was pleasant, and we had a truly enjoyable stay. I believe it is something built through daily efforts. Of course, the food was also delicious. The thickness of the meat was astonishingly impressive; I wanted to eat it again. The Room was spacious and very clean as well. I would like to use this service again in the future. Thank you very much.

I visited Kinosaki Onsen for the first time in six years to enjoy winter crab. Dinner was a feast of crab and Tajima beef. Dinner was served in the room, and the staff who brought the food were cheerful and engaging, making for an enjoyable experience. Breakfast was also delicious with just the right amount. The front desk staff were also friendly, allowing us to relax during our stay. It was a property I would like to visit again.

    Traveling with Children

This was our third visit here, but the first time since our child grew a bit older and could enjoy meals. The staff who assisted us at reception, guided us to our room, and interacted with our family were all kind, reaffirming that choosing this property was the right decision. We had an abundance of crab and meat that the three of us couldn't finish, and our child was overjoyed, eating more than we could have imagined. At breakfast, they kindly brought soy sauce for our child as needed, which we greatly appreciated. The onsen within the property was very clean and pleasant, providing a refreshing break from daily fatigue. It's a place I want to visit again; I'm glad we went. If you're considering it, I recommend it wholeheartedly. Please do consider visiting!

    Celebration of Parents' 77th Birthday

I wanted to celebrate my parents' 77th birthday with crab and onsen, so I did some research and made a reservation. Unfortunately, I caught the flu and had to cancel the reservation on the day, but according to my parents, the food, room, and bath were all wonderful, and they had a great time. My mother especially enjoyed the open-air bath in the room first and said she wouldn't leave the room today, fully enjoying her stay. On their way back, they received a commemorative gift for their 77th birthday, making it a very memorable trip. I was looking forward to it the most, so I would love to visit again while my parents are still healthy. Thank you very much for accommodating the change on the day with such kindness.

Enjoyed a full course crab meal.

I visited Kinosaki Onsen for the first time. I brought my 80-year-old mother and enjoyed a crab full course and Tajima beef course. The meals were more than satisfactory, with a quantity that was almost too much to finish (though we did finish it), leaving us very satisfied. The service by the young male staff was very polite, and I felt that the hospitality mindset of the entire Ryokan was thoroughly implemented. Additionally, the corridors inside the building are covered with tatami mats, which is pleasant. Kinosaki Onsen is famous for its outdoor baths, but the indoor baths and meals at the Ryokan alone are more than satisfying. I would like to visit again in a different season.

It was great to enjoy crab and Tajima beef.

The room was clean. We had coupons for visiting public baths, and we enjoyed visiting about four places, but the public bath and sauna at our facility were the best. We were lucky to have the sauna privately, and it was very clean. The meals, both breakfast and dinner, were delicious and very satisfying. The dinner, in particular, was a wonderful course of crab and Tajima beef, and we were satisfied with the taste, portion, serving speed, and the staff's service. We would like to use it again if we have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

Overall, it was a satisfying stay.

The dinner was delicious, and I had a satisfying stay. Thank you. Here are a few points of concern: During dinner in the Room, the red miso soup was not served. I thought it might not be included, but it was brought out after we finished eating, so I couldn’t enjoy it. If it was forgotten, I would have appreciated an honest explanation as such things can happen. Additionally, for guests who do not drink alcohol, the way drinks were suggested felt a bit pushy. It might be better to ask something like "Would you like to have alcohol?" instead. Since the only non-alcoholic option seems to be oolong tea anyway, those who want oolong tea will order it on their own. Overall, there seemed to be a lack of professionalism—more like part-time staff handling things. The Room was spacious but somewhat unusual overall. There was a door near the sink area that didn’t open and turned out to be an emergency exit for the entire building. Perhaps this is a Room that isn’t used often?

    Satisfaction

This was my first time using the service, and I chose a course with a slightly higher grade of cuisine! I highly recommend it for those who are going for the food! I was very satisfied with both the quantity and quality. I chose a room with a bath and sauna, and although the bath was not an Onsen, I was quite satisfied overall. The staff were all very kind and well-trained in customer service. Thank you very much. I would like to use it again.
