  The historical significance surpasses everything.

  The historical significance of this inn, which was the stage for the signing of the Treaty of Shimonoseki, is irreplaceable. My family and I were delighted with the fugu-centric cuisine, and we were more than satisfied with the hospitality of the manager and room attendants. Reflecting on the times of the Genpei War and the late Edo period's Choshu domain's grassroots rise in the Meiji Restoration movement, I was moved by the vivid diplomacy and negotiations of the Sino-Japanese War that elevated Japan's international standing. Shunpanro's hospitality lived up to expectations. I was aware that the bath was an indoor bath, but for this reason alone, I rated it as average. I kindly ask for the inn's understanding.
